Saluda's Ratings and Reviews
Great Special Occasion Dinner
My wife and I went here to celebrate her college graduation. Everything was wonderful. Best fried green tomatoes I've had. The prices aren't bad considering the quality of food and amount of food you get. Great portion sizes.
A good choice
A very pleasant surprise. The food was plentiful, creative and well prepared . Somewhat limited selection but no bad choices. Very enjoyable meal and professional & courteous service .

Great service. We were not rushed. Server attentive but did not hover. Allowed us to enjoy and talk. Excellent Sangria! Great wine list
Delicious memorable evening!!!
Great experience!!! We sat on a beautiful balcony lined with Palm Trees and twinkling lights! Kila and Kennedy were excellent attentive servers with great recommendations! Great wine selections as well! Everything we tried was a culinary delight! Starters were the raw tuna, fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and the pork belly and blue grit cake...For dinners we had the fish special, scallops and steak with mac n cheese...finished with cheese cake and tiramisu!!! Look forward to our next visit!!! Thank you for an especially memorable evening!!!
Good food, good service
Good menu choices & beer & wine list. Jessica was an excellent waiter. A little hard to find as the Starbucks downstairs has a more prominent sign than the restaurant.
great food , shrimp and grits to dye for
Great food, wonderful service , less expensive than I expected.
Good Food, Slow Service
It was very busy at first, but there were several empty tables by the time we finished. Bringing out the appetizer, salad, and main entree was extremely slow on every single item. Otherwise, the food itself was very good.
I dined at Saluda's before prom and it was divine!
The shrimp and grits is to die for! Hands down one of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

The food at Saludas was disappointing. The lamb ossi buco tasted a little soapy and the duck was mediocre. The cheese plate was good. The wine was excellent; however, the Pinot noir was listed as a 2010 on the menu and we were brought a 2012. Annoying and shows a lack of attention to detail. Our waiter was very good, but we will not be back due to poor food quality.
We were looking for somewhere special to celebrate our 52nd anniversary. Being fairly new to the area, we went with online reviews. Saluda was a perfect choice. The food was worth the price, delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was attentive and friendly. Definitely will come back.

Most obvious negative is long staircase and no elevator. Makes the visit problematic for disabled folk. Food, service and ambience are consistently good.

The service was amazing and the food was even better. Very happy we chose to celebrate Easter by dining at Saluda's.
100 % satisfaction from all three dining guests.
Quiet, quaint and delightful. 5 o'clock reservation so we were the first guests of the evening. Loved the welcoming atmosphere, service orientated staff and our dinners all came prepared perfectly.
I ORDERED A SPECIAL, SALMON, AND IT WAS $38, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS EXTRAVAGANT. I WOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED IT IF I HAD KNOWN. I WAS EMBARRASSED TO ASK, I FEEL THEY SHOULD TELL YOU THE COST OF THE SPECIALS. NEXT TIME I WILL KNOW TO DO SO.
My favorite place in Columbia.
Highly recommended this place to anyone. Very upscale very romantic fine dinning. Staff and management are amazing.

I highly recommend the sweet tea porkchop. It was huge and cooked absolutely deliciously!

I have dined here twice. Both times my entrée was brought out WAY too early. Half done with my appetizer too early. Both times. Sent them both back. Now, this is supposed to be a really good restaurant. But their poor execution coupled with truly mediocre food really say as much about the quality of dining in Columbia as anything about their restaurant. Time to try something else.
Good food, out waiter was very attentive. May not come back because we made reservations and still waited over 30 minutes to be seated.

I was very impressed by Saluda's! They were very busy on a Saturday evening, but our server Kyleigh was very prompt and attentive. She was really accommodating to our group--we were celebrating my husband's birthday, and she kept the cake we brought in the kitchen, brought it out (with candles!) after our meal, and split our group's checks upon request. The wine, appetizers, and entrees were all excellent! My husband had the filet mignon and I had the duck, and both were some of the best I've ever tasted. We will definitely be going back!
Just what we wanted
Great meal; great service; comfortable setting. Open Table facilitated booking with confidence
Always a delight!
We listened intently to the evening specials but then went back to our favorite dishes . . . the Shrimp & Grits and the Osso Bucco. Paired up with a sparkling wine and a pint of excellent IPA draft, our evening was perfect. We always get greeted by the manager and the wait staff simply can not do enough for us. Going about every other month, Saluda's is always fresh and exciting!
Only One Thing
Only complaint and I guess it is more a concern. It may be they way the seats are arranged or maybe to close but you are trying to concentrate on your date but you can't help but over hearing other conversations and you feel they are listening to you. Spread out the tables. Service is Excellent, Food Wonderful
The service was excellent and the food was likewise, great! The portions were a little small for the price (I am from Charleston and know restaurants) and I was a bit disappointed to learn after the fact that a gratuity had already been added to the cocktails (only a party of two) and not knowing, I was adding another 20%+ gratuity on top of that. Again, the food was excellent and the service (at the bar and the table) were fantastic! It was also relatively quiet so you could actually converse in the restaurant.

Our waiter seemed very unenthusiastic but I noticed other waiters were very energetic and seemed happy to be serving their customers. We were seated directly next to the speaker so the music was loud but probably only because we were sitting directly under it. The best thing about Saluda's was the food. I had an absolutely phenomenal steak with an equally delicious crab cake. My appetizer was perfection as well. I had a Caesar salad that didn't have very much dressing but other than that it was one of the best meals I have had in the Columbia area. I will hopefully be eating there again in the future.
Saluda was and excellent dining experience. The restaurant was clean and the staff professional. There were too many tables too close to each other for my preferred romantic dining out. This made for unintentional eaves dropping. However, the food was really fantastic.

Steve, our server was outstanding. Kudo's to the chef for the Valentine's Day menu. Supurb! Mussels and Lobster Bisque were my favorites. Our server, Steve, was very attentive all night. Please send him our "special" thanks.
Great fine dining!
My wife and I go to Saluda's a few times a year and every time is as consistently great as the last. Thanks to the staff for making our Valentine's Day so special.

Lovely as always
The food was tasty as always and the service polite.
Overall a good experience
It was our first time at Saluda's and we were impressed. The food was outstanding and the wine was great. It was a little loud and we were sitting in the middle of the restaurant, so not much privacy. The waitress was friendly but could have been more attentive for the price of the dinner! Overall it was a good experience.
always a great place for dinner. Ordered the steak med-rare and it came out rare or under-cooked even. The shrimp and grits have always been the best in south carolina though.

Great night out! We tried this restaurant after seeing it got good reviews. Well, the reviews were correct. The food is excellent. I had the shrimp and grits and I can honestly say they were the best I ever had. My husband had the duck and he was equally impressed. Our server, Jim, also made our evening enjoyable. Go! It's well worth a visit!
We've eaten here many times and rarely had a bad experience. This level of consistency is not easy to attain. This occasion was my son's birthday. Everything was great from the Negroni made by James the bartender for me as I waited for my party to arrive to the excellent service provided by our waiter (whose name is escaping me). The food was excellent as it almost always is. Four of the five in our party ordered the filet. Each of us was ecstatic about the result. Cooked to perfection and tender enough to cut with a fork. I like the ambience in Saladu's a lot, but it does get a bit noisy. All that means is that people are really enjoying themselves. Highly recommended.
Nothing short of fabulous!
Wow! What a wonderful gem of a restaurant! The staff was extremely accommodating, even with a last minute change of time and addition of several to our party. Easy and great to work with on those issues. The service was great, the food was even better - I'm talking melt in your mouth delicious......everyone enjoyed their dishes - and no one left anything on their plates. The ambiance is great - I was there for a business meeting, but if I was local, would definitely consider it a great date-night destination. Will definitely return - wonderful staff and wonderful food! Thanks for a great evening!!

Fantastic first impression
This was our first dining experience with Saluda's. It was recommended to us by several friends. We asked another couple who were visiting Columbia from Raleigh to meet us there for dinner. We had reservations for a Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. We were there until just before closing at 10:00 p.m. and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The staff was excellent, attentive and yet not intrusive. I had a half bottle of wine that was delicious and the food was exceptional. My husband and I both had the steak and our friends from Raleigh both had the Shrimp and Grits. Thanks to you and your staff for a lovely evening.
