The drinks were spot on, the food delicious (we had Thai... and it was comparable to any Thai place in NYC) and the service was exceptional!

Fantastic happy hour! Whenever I go aline, I always meet fascinating people there too. Sushi is discounted and really good! Try the eggplant sushi for $3. Other great appetizers too. Fantastic Cosmo for only $5. It's from 4-6 and always packed. Enjoy! Great staff too, which wasn't always the case! A must while there every day 7 days a week! Also Fantastic Sunday brunch!

A Heart Full of Oops

Dined on February 14, 2016

Arrived early for meal seated quickly although we shared a longish upholstered couch with several tables. The vinyl on the seat was ripped and the individual tables were small for all the porcelain to come. Additionally the ceiling above was missing three partial tiles. House hot sake was inferior. Appetizers (crab wonton, lettuce wraps)were cold and needed to be returned. Sushi choice (tuna) was adequate and prepared well. Main courses were from Hibachi menu - served hot and adequate portion. However both heavily loaded with onions which comprised the majority of the vegetables. House salad was bland. Wine choices good to excellent but per glass price among the highest locally.

Our server was exceptional. I wish every server was like him. The food was just average. The steak and shrimp hibachi had an aroma like it was hit with a mini blow torch. You could smell the blowtorch fuel. Some restaurants actually do that to give the meat a singed, charred appearance. I can't say for certain that that's what was done, if not, the aroma was very peculiar. Not impressed. Food, however, was cooked properly in terms of doneness. Brown rice was bland but the portion was generous. Desserts were very good but they do not offer ice cream and the selection for dessert consisted of only two choices.

Wow! Place was packed at 445PM which is a great sign of good food! Happy hour is clearly a drawl for this place. Great discounts on drinks, sushi , and other appetizers! Love the chicken lettuce wraps and great sushi inexpensive at happy hour. $5 cosmo too and well made too! Recommend but get there early as bar and high tops get filled quickly. Added new Waiter as bartender cannot manage both bar customers and high tops. Service great and quick turn around on food order too!

Excellent Sushi and other Asian Fare

Dined on December 28, 2015

Just went here with my family for lunch. They have excellent Sushi and other Asian Fare. My wife and younger son split some pork and shrimp shaumai, which they enjoyed. I had the Thai Spicy Lemongrass Soup. Great flavor and the right amount of spicy. Only stickler for me is they leave the tails on the Shrimp. I then moved onto their Spider Roll, my wife the Tropical Thunder roll and older son the Philadelphia roll. Freshly made and thoroughly enjoyable. My younger son then had the Broccoli Chicken, my wife and older son the Teriyaki Salmon and I the Spicy Seafood Thai Noodles. All were quite delicious. Will go back and recommend.

Food was great as was the speed of service. Interesting menu covered all the bases. The Thai red curry was great and not at all like curry as we think of it. It was all so easy using Open Table for our reservation.

Sushi here is always good. Enjoy their happy hour specials including selection of sushi and other great appetizers. Great drink specials too. The Cosmo was a huge it as nearly every person at the bar had one. So, I had to try myself and was pleased. Be prepared fir bar and table tops being completely filled before 5 as happy hour is 4-6. Service was slow but once again very packed. They brought meals timely but ordering took time and often bartender missing. Several people also had to ask for chop sticks, soy sauce dishes and just to order food. I must say again, it was very busy, could have used a second bartender. I will always go back based on food.

Fun Food in an Energetic Setting

Dined on June 22, 2015

This was our second time at Saketumi and it did not disappoint. There are so many inventive items on their menu, it makes you want to keep coming back to try new things. Our group of three was just in search of a quick, light bite and a good cocktail. We had a variety of apps -- lettuce wraps, dumplings, satays, grilled asparagus, rice pancakes -- all delicious, beautifully prepared and hot. Great cosmos and what appears to be a lively bar scene. Great choice for a slow Monday night.

Took two friends here for the first time! We ALL thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. They have a great happy hour special including drinks and sushi and appetizers! The food is always excellent and the bar area tends to be very busy because of great food at discount. Love the sushi, chicken wraps, and fantastic cosmo! Yum!

Creative menu, cheery atomosphere, always good!

Dined on January 17, 2015

We like Saketumi because it has great food with creative pan-Asian-fusion recipes that are all tasty. They also have a beautiful interior with a cheery atmosphere. Good drink list, good Sake, good sushi, great alternatives if you don't want sushi, and very professional and responsive service. Other things to note: because of their large facility, you can get a reservation there at busy times and they have lots of parking. The only issue I have is that it is a bit too noisy -- energetic, not quiet.

Saketumi remains consistently good

vip
Dined on January 17, 2015

Saketumi always offers fresh good food with attentive service. Cocktails are always pleasing and we never leave disappointed. Happy Hour specials are great from 4-6 daily and are a must if heading to the movies at Midway. Grab a quick appetizer and drink before the show and then head back for your entree and nightcap after your show. We always leave Saketumi with a smile and a satisfied diner.

Less than Stellar

Dined on January 2, 2015

I've been here many times and it's always been at least "very good." This time was just not up to the regular standard. Lemongrass soup was excellent (comfortably spicy and temperature hot) but the edamame ravioli was gummy and only luke warm. Waiter missed our sushi order and brought us our entrees next. Pad Thai shrimp wasn't hot enough; consistency was wrong. Seafood noodles were fine, but also just wrong. It was as if the restaurant wasn't ready for so many people on a Friday night in January. It seemed as if food was prepared as fast as it could be and then left to get cold. Unfortunate. Of course I'll go back. We all have "off" days!

Tasty Asian food

Dined on December 28, 2014

It was our first visit to saketumi. We loved the atmosphere and our waiter was excellent. We had the mango chicken and the salmon dish. Both were very good but I thought the portion of chicken and asparagus could have been better and the mango was a little over powering to the dish. We will be back to try other entrees and the sushi for sure.

Well prepared sushi

Dined on November 8, 2014

We enjoyed our second visit to Saketumi. The sushi was as fresh and beautifully prepared as we remembered. The sushi portions are small and the special rolls a bit expensive for the size but nicely done and tasty. Our waiter, John, was attentive but certainly not overbearing. It was an enjoyable evening.

Food and service are always dependable and good at Saketumi. We have never had a bad meal here and have dined at least 20 times. Great happy hour from 4-6PM with 1/2 price apps and reduced drinks. Good place to catch a bite to eat if heading to or from the movies at Midway.

The worst sushi I've ever had

Subpar sushi at inflated prices, I've gotten better rainbow rolls from a grocery store. Was so excited to get sushi while at the beach, thinking it would be extra fresh considering the location, could not have been more wrong.

Noisy and slow but good food

vip
Dined on July 27, 2014

Four of us went on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was only about 1/3 full so we didn't understand why the service was so slow. One of us spilled a drink and you'd think a server would notice. But nobody helped us. We got napkins from the bar to clean it up ourselves. Our dirty dishes sat at the edge of the table despite the server coming by a few times. If you can get past the poor service, the food itself is generally quite good. A stir fry noodle dish was the hands down favorite. A beef wok dish was a close second. The Dragon Fly sushi roll would have been better if they had cut off the shrimp tails before stuffing them in the rolls. The accompanying sashimi was very skimpy. Other friends love this place so maybe we hit a bad night?

Fantastic Sunday Brunch

vip
Dined on July 27, 2014

Overcast day at the beach in Rehoboth and returning back from mass, I made an impromptu decision to eat at Saketumi. Best Sushi brunch in Rehoboth. Love there sushi, raw oysters and Thai Food. In fact, everything on the Sunday Buffett Brunch is great. So glad I made the decision to stop by and enjoy a great meal. Also $3 mimosas and bloody Mary's too. I had one Mimosa which was also good. If you like sushi and or Thai food, then Saketumi is the place to go including their 4-6 happy hour at the bar and Sunday Brunch Buffett! Yum!

Well prepared

Dined on July 25, 2014

The sushi and sashimi were well prepared, the fish was fresh and artfully displayed. The cocktails were decent size and very tasty. Our waiter was nice but a bit disinterested, not particularly friendly or helpful. The tables were a bit close together but we were there on a Friday at 6:30 and the restaurant was not crowded so it was not an issue. It was an enjoyable dinner overall. One warning - Don't add clams to the Miso soup, they tasted as if they were thrown in at the last minute (did not add anything to the soup) and mine had shell and grit.
