Ristorante Allegria Ratings and Reviews
Mediocre Food, Placid Service
The menu was limited to a few uninspiring selections . My pasta bolognese reminded me of something served in a high school cafeteria. Our server was prompt but equally boring, automatically going through the perfunctory motions.
Great value in an expensive town.
Wonderful service. Great value for the high quality of the food. Napa cabbage salad was memorable.
Good food, good service
We've eaten here a couple of times and it's been consistently good each time. Server was new and a bit nervous but very nice. Food was very tasty! Would definitely recommend!
The food was excellent, service was great and the prices were very reasonable. We recommend this place to anyone that loves Italian food, seafood, and just plain good grub!

Average dinning experience to say the least, certainly did not meet high ratings. Nice high ceiling building but outdated interior. Too much creme fraiche used in their cooking (zaferano), very average salads and mediocre cocktails. At least the grilled salmon saved the day, tough to fail that though...In general, old style italian not my taste, pricing was fair for Napa standards.
Food is fantastic!

Nice way to end a vacation
went with friends for a return visit. We went to Ristorante Allegria on our last visit about three years ago and it was just as good as we remembered. Would recommend this to adults. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would go back again!

Great place to take clients for lunch. Good unobtrusive service and reasonable prices. Cabbage salad with skirt steak is one of my favorites.
A night in Napa
Wonderful restaurant in the heart of the Napa city nightlife. Situated in an old bank, the very high ceilings cause a lot of echoing, therefore it's very noisy. Service was excellent. I had the marinated skirt steak which had amazing flavor, and was very tender. I also ordered the dungeness crab cakes which were very tasty. They had an outside eating area, which would have been nice if it wasn't so windy. Reservations well in advance are recommended since it is a very popular spot.
Perfect last dinner in Napa.
We saved the best for last. After making the Open Table booking for two, our party grew to six. One phone call at noon and we were accommodated. Great Italian menu, great service. I had the carpaccio and crab cakes. Both were very good. My RDD is kicking in again and my memory fails me for what the others had. No complaints.
Very Nice, good food, good service...a bit noisy..
Very good service and food. I had the Bolognese and a Ceasar salad along with a good glass of Cabernet. My wife had some fancy pasta dish which she ate all of so it must have pleased her. The inside is 2 level, an old bank and tho a bit noisy, a fun atmosphere. Classy but comfortable.

It is good food but nothing amazing. It's the type of place that will do but doesn't make you say " the ____ was out of this world. Also the drinks are always an issue for me here. Not sure if it's terrible well liquor or the drinks are too strong but I've never had a delicious cocktail here. I do frequent this place for lunch because of co workers but this was our first dinner experience. Meh
Food was fair - the veal was dry, my pappardelle was too thick. For the price, we expected a better prepared and more authentic meal. Our palates are spoiled from eating in SF and Berkeley!

One of THE BEST restaurants in Napa. Loved the Napa Cabbage Salad, the Pesto Gnocchi was so delicate and creamy and the bread pudding was to die for. The service was excellent! Very attentive without hovering. Can not say enough good things about it. Definitely try this place. You won't regret it.

There were four of us, and we all had something different to eat. We were all extremely pleased with our meals. Living on the east coast, and having never vacationed in Napa, we booked Allegria ,based on reviews and price, prior to starting our trip. Much to our surprise, when we asked our innkeeper for dining recommendations, his first choice was Allegria. He was rather surprised when we said that we already had a reservation there. When we travel, we always like to book a restaurant in advance of our first night in town. It saves time in figuring out where to eat the first night. Our choice of Ristorante Allegria was a fantastic choice.
No complaints. This place was great. Food was amazing, our server was friendly and attentive, all the courses flowed well and were served in a timely manner. Loved it!
Great Italian style restaurante in downtown Napa. Very authentic preparations that satisfy the need for a taste of Italia
Great restaurant and great service
If you want a nice Italian restaurant in the Napa area, this is the place to go. I have dined at this restaurant many times over the years and I have never been disappointed in any meal I received. When friends come from out of town and want to eat somewhere in Napa, this is the restaurant we take them too. Service is great and food is excellent. Some of the dishes that come to mind are the Salmon, Mahi-Mahi (when available), Napa Cabbage Salad, and a few pasta dishes. Great for a date night or with friends. Not too loud and great atmosphere and ambiance. The building was once a bank and the restaurant played off the interior well to make it romantic.
Great Food and Service
Came here for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. I wanted it to be special with Italian food and wine. This place was great with timely and friendly service. Drinks and salad came out super-fast. The entrees were fabulous. I order the marinated teriyaki skirt steak, which was awesome and should not be overlooked. My girlfriend had the pesto gnocchi with chicken and it was equally scrumptious For dessert we shared a cheesecake and it also exceeded our expectations. The only downside is that it does get crowed and the decibel level is higher than what I expected, but not so loud that I had to raise my voice in my conversation.

Nice outside patio. Food was tasty and came quickly. Service was very good.
We always make this one of our stops when every time we come to Napa. It never disappoints: great food, great service and affordable prices.
As a resident of Napa for 17 years, we had finally found the restaurant we had hoped to find. This time we were returning to Napa after having moved away last year. We were taking friends from Southern California out before a show. We were not disappointed at all! Our foodie friends loved it, too. The men ate steak, the ladies had pasta. We had delicious salads before the entree's and the mushroom polenta as an appetizer. All were delicious! Although we brought our own wine ($15 corkage per bottle but our fabulous waiter only charged us for 1), we saw they carried the Rombauer Zin that we devoured. The waiter was great (a little Clive Owen like), service impeccable, food delicious, and our friends loved it. Would highly recommend to all who desire the great food and hospitality known in Napa-without the ridiculous price gouging you normally encounter.

It was my birthday and I was looking forward to dinner because I dine there often. Server "LUKE" was non attentive and very bad. Food was good but not very warm! There was a private party upstairs and they were extremely noisy , which did not help the atmosphere . I was very disappointed that evening.
Great food in an easily accessible location, and ample parking near by. As it happened we had reservations for an hour later than we actually arrived. Happily they were willing and able to seat us right away. Reservations are a must on weekends and maybe during the week as well. Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to Napa...

We were in the mood for Italian and this place hit the spot! Beef Carpaccio, Calamari, Gnocci, and Seafood Pasta were all delicious. When we make it back to Napa, it would definitely be worth another visit!

Worthy of Italy
I've been to Ristorante Allegria a number of times, and the food has always been excellent. Took friends there this last time and they were really impressed with the chicken dish. If they would add a few vegan dishes, I would go even more often. "Allegria" means "cheerfulness," and the experience works well to foster good cheer.
Decent but not worth another visit

Food was good. I would go again if I came back to Napa.
The food was good, the service was ok. There were long periods of time that a waiter did not come by especially when drinks needed to be filled, plates needed to be cleared and we sat for 45 minutes before getting our bill.
Overcooked but served well
The Mahi (fish of the day) was a bit over cooked, but overall the food was great. Service was absolutely fantastic though. To be in wine country they should be a bit more aware of the type of glasses they use - as they were quite heavy and did not fit to the quality of the rest of the restaurant.

We were seated immediately. Chef cooked my boyfriends filet to perfection and my Mahi Mahi special was outstanding. The Creme brûlée was fantastic! Cannot wait to go back!

Always a great meal here. The staff is amazing, the ambiance is perfect, and the food is to die for. I've come here many times, over many years and I've never been disappointed. My guests have never been disappointed either.
Delicious meal, but rushed
The dining experience is greatly lacking. From the time we were seated until meal completion including check paid, took maybe 40 minutes. It's refreshing to not have to wait and wonder what happened to your order, but to be served your food within 7 minutes of ordering makes one wonder if the food was prepared fresh or if everything is made ahead and just heated up. What I had thought would be a relaxing pre-race (Napa Valley Marathon) meal, ended up being more of a fast food dining experience. I must say that the food was delicious. I completely cleaned my plate, but still would not return.
Napa Valley restaurants are excellent.
I do not think this restaurant comes out at the top of the list. There are many restaurants better even in Napa City, let alone Yountville, Rutherford & St. Helena.

Dinner in the Vault
We ate here with another couple while visiting Napa. After eating at several noisy restaurants in the area, we wanted an evening of easy conversation. I requested the quietest table possible. When we arrived at Allegria, we found out that the building was formerly a bank and we were seated in what had been the vault. It was quiet. The food and service were excellent and we had a lovely evening.
Great food and service
I've enjoyed the panini sandwich, soup, salad and pastas. Friendly service and delicious Italian food!
