Richardson's Cuisine of New Mexico Ratings and Reviews
Great brunch with great friends!
Longtime fan of Richardson's - great menu complemented by interesting specials. Cuisine prepared in true New Mexican style with bold flavors and subtle heat. Great for brunch, lunch or dinner!
This was one of the pork adobo I ever had. not too spicy but with tremendous lingering flavors. Good value as the serving were huge so we all had a doggie bag for lunch the next day. My wife's combo plate was possibly the largest I have ever seen. Comments by all four eaters were extremely positive
Lovin' Mild Sauces !
Everyone loved their food! I wish the menu would star the meals that come with their milder sauces; the onion sauce and the Jalapeno hollandaise for spicy impaired people who love spice but cannot eat it anymore!

Delicious food, excellent service, just a bit dark inside for lunch.
Favorite spot in Phoenix
Every time I'm in town we dine at Richardson's. The enchiladas are delicious, amazing flavor that you can not find anywhere else. The service is always friendly and the ambience is energetic.
shouldn't be missed when in Phoenix!
Great menu and drinks. I will be back. The burratta was devine.
The food and service are always excellent.
The New York strip with secret Chipotle Hollandaise sauce is delish. The ice tea is fruity and good. We love Richardson's and go every spring when we hit town for spring training.
Noisy But Good
Richardson's is a favorite BUT if you wish to have a conversation with people you want to hear maybe not so much. The food was, as usual, very good. We had the pork chop con chorizo and the tres pescado (three fish). Excellent
Excellent as Always! Hope to be back soon! All in the party was very pleased with the service and food quality.
Richardson's used to be one of my favorite places, but the last two times I went I thought the food was rather bland.
Richardson's is always been one of my favorite places to dine! Love every single menu item.
My wife & I joined two foodie friends of ours for what we anticipated would be a memorable food evening. We had heard many good comments regarding this restaurant's food quality and innovative dishes. The food did not disappoint in this area. However, what turned our enjoyable evening sour was being told by our waiter that we needed to hurry up if we were going to order dessert as they were going to need the table for another reservation. The facts are as follows: 1. we arrived right on time for our reservation. 2. There is no "time limit" given by the host or waiter when we sat down nor anywhere on their website. 3. We were never slow in consuming either food or drink. In fact, we had to wait longer than acceptable for both our appetizers and entrees. Any added length to our dining experience was 100% due to the slow service. 4. After courteously informing the waiter about our displeasure, the General Manager "Greg" came by our table only to tell us (repeatedly) that he was sorry for the interruption he was causing by coming to our table. Really Greg??? He literally added still more time to our stay there only to tell us this while not offering to buy so much as a drink or dessert or even offer a sincere apology over their very poor policy in handling customers. There were probably a dozen good ways a professional and experienced manager could have handled our situation. Greg couldn't find one, but did succeed in ensuring that we would never dine there again and are happy to share our experience with others.

Richardson's is a great place to take guests from out of town to for a neighborhood, vibrant venue, exceptinal cuisine dining experience. If you are looking for a spot that reflects the dining experience of the southwest, look no further.
Why would I go there again?
Food was good, of their "specialities". Meal/Entrée portions were good. The restaurant smelled of smoke. Service was so 1*, they should just have a counter to order the food and get it delivered.
Dinner with friends
We brought two couples from out of state to dinner at Richardson's who were visiting. They loved the food, as it is unique and well prepared. The service was also excellent and made for a great evening.
I've been a Richardson's fan for 20+ years...
Always good food, always good service and friendly staff. Inside, outside, at the bar, downstairs....all the options for seating are great.
Our group enjoyed the atmosphere, food and friendly staff. The food was great!
Richardsons is a great spot that I try to go to whenever I am in town for business. They are great at accommodating groups and the food is always consistently good. Service is friendly and helpful.
Excellent food. A little pricey
Enjoyed the food. Wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Couldn't answer questions about the menu.
Explosion of Flavors
All the items on the menu are one-of-a-kind but the fresh Sea Bass is a favorite!
Great place to take a group from out of town. Super fun and great food. Our waitress was fun and friendly. Answered all of our questions and was attentive, but not overbearing. Check it out if in town!
Wonderful service from Misty. Food was flavorful and plentiful. Mid week visit after picking up family from the airport, so it was a little later in the evening. We could actually converse over dinner!
Great flavors, good selection of menu items. Love their sauces.
Fabulous food and honestly I think my leftovers the next day were even better! :) One downfall - music way too loud in the dining room.
Food poorly prepared, drowned in sauce, service very slow. None in our party of four liked what we ordered. Very disappointing.
Carne Adovada is simply amazing
First time at the new location and was pleased that the Carne Adovada is as amazing as I remembered it. Service was great.

The service and food was wonderful. We were bringing 6 others with us for their 1st visit to Richardson's. The booth they originally sat us in was WAY to small for 8 people. After speaking with the manager we were moved to a larger table. The manager told us since we made our reservation on line, that would be the reason our table was too small. I still don't understand that statement! To me, 8 people are 8 people, whether you made an online reservation or called directly to the establishment! Our guests loved the meal and all plan on returning.
Richardson's is a great local gem in Phoenix.
Richardson's is a great local gem in Phoenix and "the" place to go when searching for cuisine form the state of New Mexico while in Phoenix. Food is consistently good, service is always great, they always pour fair and good drinks and the atmosphere is great for a more casual, laid back spot. Great for groups of friends and family and also a good spot for out of town guests.
Great New Mexican Cuisine
We very much enjoy dining at Richardson's, where we invariably have their fantastic smoked turkey rellenos. We're huge fan of New Mexican-style cooking, and Richardson's has an excellent menu. I would certainly recommend Richardson's for an excellent casual dining experience in a very relaxing and attractive setting.
If you're looking for dark, crowded and loud and really good, but different Mexican food, this is a place to check out! It's cool but you have to really love this kind of food or you'll be in trouble. Check out the menu first if you've never been :).
We had guests in town from Texas and what better way to introduce them to savory cuisine and welcome them to Phoenix than to take them to Richardson's? This was our 2nd visit and we were excited to share our experience with our guests. -it was humid/hot inside the establishment, our ice waters would not stay cold - that's how bad. -there wasn't good seating to actually accommodate a party of 8 comfortably, we were squished in a booth and the table wasn't big enough to suit the extra large Richardson platters . Yes, we made a reservation. -the servers were - forgetful, forgot salads, messed up salad orders, then mixed up dinner orders (1 even grabbed a plate which had already been started on about 3-4 bits and plopped it over to the correct guest trying to correct her mistake. We had to stop and explain it was eaten off of as she tried to just simply 'switch' the plates. (both same dish, but different variation of meats). No apology offered. -it wasn't busy, but it took forever to get drinks and our food. this visit was completely night and day of our first trip a few months ago with another couple! We were disappointed and embarrassed. We would have made exceptions if it would have been a busy evening, but it wasn't even half full this past Sunday evening. Yes, the food was tasty and wonderful and our guests enjoyed it and left satisfied. But the experience was commented as completely negative.
The service was great, the food was served hot and tasty, and our group enjoyed it immensely.
I went there to celebrate my "45" birthday and the place was loud, tiny and the waitress/server was horrible. She acted annoyed that 1. We would ask questions and, 2 we would want more time to even decide what we would want. Any time we ask for something she would act like we were bothering her. A smile goes a long way and considering how much we spent I exspected much more from her. Would never go there again ever!!!!!
VISITORS LOVE RICHARDSON'S
Whenever we have out-of-town visitors we take them to Richardson's. Sophisticated people who have been and eaten everywhere are always impressed and rave about the unusual food and ambience at this restaurant. We always order the garlic platter and everyone dives in. It's really fun to watch the server squeeze the roasted elephant garlic cloves out of their shells. I love the copper tabletops and the pillows on the benches for anyone to use improve their comfort. The plates are so full of good stuff that no one is able to finish dinner. Small selection of desserts can finish the meal perfectly - even if you're too full you might still have room for their cooling flan. A word about brunch: FABULOUS, too.
Upscale New Mexican Cuisine
Food was outstanding, broad array of choices and imaginative dishes. well presented. Very large portions. Service was not remarkable. Our waitress seems disinterested, and was not friendly.
went to richardson's for a friend's birthday dinner. We were a smaller party of four but they had our table ready and waiting when we walked in. They were extremely patient with since some of our guests were having a difficult time with the beverage list. The waiter Jason made some selections that went over very well. The one thing that annoys me when I'm at a nice restaurant is when they can't time your food. Richardson's nailed it! And all very reasonably priced. Would definitely pick it again.
Incredible every time!
Wow is all I can say. I took my mom, sister and partner for a nice dinner and sis de we had been to the Rokerji we decided to try Richardsons this time. So glad we did! The menu had something for everyone. We started with a few drinks...their version of a Moscow mule had tequila and cucumber. Delicious! The chips/ salsa had three different types with blue and regular corn chips. We all ordered something different: tortilla wrapped halibut, grilled cod, surf n turf and marinaded pork dishes. The salads only have one choice of dressing but trust me when I say it tasted great ( jalapeño ranch...and I'm not a ranch fan). After sampling all of them we ALL agreed the food was amazing. Service was timely and our waiter Jason kept a watchful eye over our table as the restaurant filled up. Make sure you have reservations as this is a popular spot every night. Overall the evening couldn't have gone better....I only wish we had room for dessert. Dinner for all of us with appetizers, salad and a few cocktails was $210 out the door. A fair price for the portions, variety and service. We will definitely be back to try brunch!!
European & New Mexico Fusion Fantastic
Loved our food will return again. Unique flavors and combinations you will not find every where. We three different dishes and all were great.
Delish every time!
Been coming to Richardson's for years. The food is always consistently delicious and the service is always great!
It's been months since we went to Richardson's/Rokerij due to the poor dining experience the two previous visits. Thank goodness we weakened and went again. I guess they got the hint...food is back to where it was. No longer bland, but fit for the New Mexican taste buds. There is NO place like this outside of NM. Although the Adovada was a little bit timid, the flavor was awesome. I realize is can vary somewhat due to the chilies. It's back on our regular list...yum. Keep it up, we don't mind the slight increase in price to restore the quality.
