We took my wife's brother to dinner with two of his best friends here and the evening was more than could be expected. The food and service were superb and the opportunity to enjoy a quiet dining experience was very enjoyable.

A Six Star Resturant on a Scale of Five
The Ranchers Club is the best restaurant in Albuquerque. The food was superb, the staff was outstanding, and the pianist was delightful! I'm looking forward to our next dining adventure. Not only was the food delicious, the portions were quite generous!
Great cuts, but the rest of the food was just ok
Took me wife to Ranchers club for her birthday, a night out without our 2 year old for the 1st time in a while. It was a surprise for her, and a much need time for just the 2 of us to relax and enjoy a premium steak dinner that we haven't had in quite some time... We had reservations for 6pm on a Saturday night, and it was almost empty. by the time we left at 8 pm, maybe there were 8 tables, most were just 2 party tables. I originally tried to get a reservation at Vernon's Hidden Valley, but they were booked for all times on this Saturday. Love the setting and ambiance, and the ribeye steak was excellent (these are really the most important factors to me) but the sides were just very average. The steamed veggies that came with the dish is almost embarrassing to see next to your awesome steak. Ordered the au gratin potatoes, and I had to salt them. I hardly ever use salt in the 1st place. The way the sides of butter, sauces, etc came with the dinner needs to be better than the same cups I see at a Chili's/Applebee's type of restaurant. I also ordered the Jumbo shrimp to go with my steak, needless to say, they were NOT jumbo. More like a 30-40 count size. Ordered the creme brulee, not bad but its much better at The Range. I hope Ranchers club can make these simple improvements. Paul's Monterrey was my "go to place" for special occasions, and not because it was necessarily better but you knew what you were getting for a certain price point, service, and setting. If Ranchers club is trying to be the next Paul's, the price is too high. If it's trying to compete with Vernon's, Season's, Marcello's, and soon Ruth's Chris...it's just not good enough. Ranchers club has seen better days, quality was higher a few years back. I hope they can turn things around, if so, I would love to come back.
Ranchers Club not up to previous standard
My wife and I went the Ranchers Club for Easter dinner and were not very pleased with the dinner. First of all I go there for their good steaks and they didn't offer a single steak! They had a very limited menu. We chose the prime rib but it was not very tender and had a whole lot of uneatable fat on the serving we got. Then they had a terrible selection of deserts so we didn't have any. For a meal that was over $130 we felt we were taken advantage of and will certainly consider not returning!
Simply Outstanding (still)!!
Outstanding staff. Thought I was going to miss Ralph. Well, I still do, but the "B" team is just as good. I do miss the covered plates presentation. Was a nice touch.
Excellant food and service. Our server Tom took very good care of us. Could not have asked for a better dinning experience.
Appetite for steak
We had nit had a good steak in a long time. Rancher's Club bison filet with a twice baked potato and glass of red Bordeaux hit the spot. our waiter, Thomad, and his staff were attentive. the food was well prepared and hot. A grat way to end the day!
I've always enjoyed the Ranchers Club
Outstanding service, but not intrusive. We always order the Caesars Salad prepared table side. You can never go wrong when ordering a steak. I've never had a steak that wasn't prepared as ordered-medium rare. It would be hard to not find a wine that didn't meet your taste. My retirement party was held here three years ago and as I recall the wait staff and kitchen did a great job for such a large group. Ranchers is a wonderful place to celebrate a special event.
Very grateful for this experience!
The food and wine were absolutely amazing! The waitstaff were just as impressive, but the true human beauty I found that night was in their management. I was completely thrilled with our experience and they made a very special day even better!
The bar was excellent, loved the live Piano. Food was excellent as always but disappointed that the new manager got rid of the simultaneous unveiling of the dinner plates when served. Also recommend that they once again enforce the dress code of business attire. Servers could have been a tad-bit more attentive, but we appreciate the restaurant and will return soon.
The Ranchers Club was OUTSTANDING!
We've been there many times before, but this was the first for the entire family together (6 persons). We were seated in a small private room, which was perfect for us. Our waiter, Thomas, and his assistant, Nina, did a superior job. Husband had the bison steak which he still raves about; I had the salmon which was huge, succulent, and tender. One son is a vegetarian and the kitchen staff prepared special dishes for him. His food looked amazing and he was delighted with the dishes. A great time was enjoyed by all!
bad,bad,bad! Service was very slow.
Would never go again. Food was less then I was excepting . Over rated. 18$ salad was brown. Waited so long for a drink I went to the bar and got it myself. Complained to manager , he didn't care. Felt like a orphan. The place was not busy, and the salad took an hour, maybe that's why it was weleted. Order was messed up. Nothing about it was enjoyable .
Place was empty on Saturday evening. No hostess, waited over 10 minutes before she showed, then she acted put out for some reason. Waitress was a trainee. Nice person. Not well trained. Several things we requested did not happen. Food was in general good. Overall, below the high reviews it's received in the past . Different management?.
My wife and I make visits to the Rancher's Club at regular intervals for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, and Christmas. Normally I would say that the Rancher's Club falls under the category of excellent. With the food being well worth the $50 a plate price tag and the atmosphere being pleasant, quiet and intimate. However, I most recent visit for my birthday left us with the bitter taste of disappointment. While the service was excellent, the food fell short of the mark and mostly the food failed on the sides. We started with the crab cakes, which in previous experience has been excellent, this time however they were scorched on the bottom, my wife's bison tenderloin had a perfect external appearance but was a touch underdone, and her scalloped potatoes was lacking in potatoes, so much so that we asked for a different side to be served, she went with the twice baked which arrived as a half-baked failure. I myself opted for the hunter's grille (a favorite of mine) and I was more than a little sad to discover that the fingerling potatoes were chewy and the meat (the star of the show) was absolutely drowning in sauce. The grilled asparagus was excellent, and the table side Cesar salad for two was top notch, but that did not make up for our disappointing entrees. This most recent visit to our favorite restaurant has left us thinking that we may seek another location for our next special occasion.
Great food, service not up to par
As always, the quality and presentation was excellent. The service however, was poor. Our waitress seemed distracted--40 minutes to get bread after 3 requests for it--also she had a raging cold and should not have been serving food! The hostess stepped in and tried to resolve the bread problem and the fact the wrong sides were delivered to our table. The beef was perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned. The crab Mac and cheese was creamy, lots of crab and piping hot--yum! Would definitely go back, but hope for better service!
We loved our first visit to the ranchers club. Our server was so sweet and very attentive. She was knowledgable about the menu and very personable. The food was excellent. The ambiance was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Sadly disappointed for a Valentine's din ...
Sadly disappointed for a Valentine's dinner. I've dined there before and this time the food was less than par. Wilted, brown salad thrown together in a hurry. Steak was undercooked. The drinks were over poured on the alcohol. I asked waitress and she said it was because the large crowd could not be accommodated. Our reservation was at 9:30PM and there were less than 10 people in the restaurant???? I will not be making any return visits.
Best steaks around
Although the menu was limited on the Valentine's Day menu, everything offered was outstanding. It made it eager for us to return to try the normal menu offerings--perhaps for another special occasion.
Amazing food and superb service
We have never, ever been disappointed when we celebrate at Rancher's Club. The staff make this place a first-class, five-star dining experience. We'd especially like to thank Ernest and Thomas. Their professionalism and attention to customer service make this place our favorite dining spot in the city. PLUS! The food is amazing. Our favorites are the oysters Rockefeller, the filet mignon and anything and everything they serve for dessert. Fantastic place. We will always celebrate our special occasions here.
My wife and I dined for Valentine's day. The ambience and wait staff were great. The food came out at a nice pace so we were able to enjoy ourselves without being rushed out the door. We ordered off the regular menu instead of the Valentine special. I ordered the 18oz ribeye and my wife ordered the filet mignon both steaks were not seasoned and needed to be table salted to enjoy. On the other hand the wait staff was attentive and nice.
Top tier restaurant
From the proactive reception from the maitre d' to the attentive but unobtrusive service from the wait staff, we were treated superbly. The food was prepared to perfection and the atmosphere is old school western. Very enjoyable
Romantic Evening w Piano concert music as a plus
Great food - Great service - the wait was long (45 minutes) even though we had confirmed reservations.
The Service seems to have gone slowly do ...
The Service seems to have gone slowly down hill over the years. The days when there was a waiter to sweep crumbs, a captain that was very concerned about your dinner are all gone. Our desert could not be eaten. The charge was taken off our bill..but...that should not happen in a place noted for exquisite and exceptional service and food. We may not return.
We had to ask for almost everything twice.
The service was on the forgetful side, au gratin were on the runny side, steak was on the overdone side, game was on the gamey side. Used to go there for special occasions. Probably won't be back. Not sure what went wrong ...
Rancher's Club of New Mexico
Bar service is slow. The server's assistant was not properly trained. The entre was served cold. Management was requested to come to the table, but never appeared. A follow up phone call from the restaurant was unsatisfactory. Just excuses about staff turnover. There is no on site restaurant manager. No wonder Hilton pulled their flag.
Rancher's Club, a Dining Delight
The food, service, and ambiance were top-of-the-line. We have eaten here many times in years past, and have never been disappointed. When we celebrate something "really special" this is where we come.
I have taken my leadership staff to the Ranchers Club for 12 years. It is a wonderful place to eat. The food is excellent but more importantly Tom our waiter and his staff are outstanding and just great fun. I would recommend this to any one. Ask for Tom!!!
Normally we have an excellent experience at Ranchets Club. However, this time we were a little disappointed. While the food was as good as ever, the service seemed lacking. It was very slow and inattentive. It took 30 min just to place the order. The wait captain did finally make it right; but being that this is a high class restaurant it should never have happened.
Food. Green Chile Baked Brie
Food would have been 5 stars but the Green Chile Baked Brie was not as we remembered it from about a year ago. It was very good but something seems to have changed? Excellent dining experience.
This is a restaurant your grandparents would have loved and it still delights. The classic steakhouse decor, the roaring fire, the attentive staff and excellent food make for a very satisfying experience. Our group of 6 had a private dining alcove and we were treated like royalty. Don't miss it!

Great steakhouse in the heart of Albuquerque, prices are affordable and service is great!
Superb Food and Service
We had the great pleasure of having dinner here on Christmas evening, 2015. The restaurant, as always, exuded the warmth of an elegant hunting lodge, far away in feeling from its urban environs. This is not the sort of restaurant which depends on trendy or exotic ingredients like saba or yuzu kosho or vadouvan or jimmy nardellos to impress. Instead it takes familiar ingredients and treats them with great finesse. Every single aspect of our dinner was flawlessly executed. The Caesar salad for two, prepared tableside was perfect. My dinner companion reported that his filet mignon was cooked exactly as he specified. My order of scallops was perfectly cooked, not overly sautéed as is so often the case in other restaurants. The sauce was so savoryI requested extra bread in order to mop up every drop. The only disappointment was that the portions were so ample that we had no room for dessert. Last but not least, the service provided by our waiter Devin was exemplary in every way. Please note that although the Rancher's Club is located within the Crowne Plaza Hotel, it has nothing to do with the food and beverage service of the hotel itself, which is far below the level of this restaurant. The Rancher's Club, in fact, sets the standard for all other restaurants in the Albuquerque area.

We have liked to go here for special occasions, like anniversaries, Xmas eve, etc. Our last visit was disappointing. The service was slow and our fish dinners were only OK. However, the caesar salad (made at table) was very good and the raspberry sorbet desert was excellent. We would go here again, but this last visit was not as successful as previous visits.
Best steakhouse in ABQ
Love the ambiance, comfortable booths, pianist in the bar, excellent wine list & service , and the best grilled steaks (the only method we order our steaks where we are)
Great place for an intimate dinner or group event
The food was delicious, atmosphere was perfect, service was attentive without being invasive. We all enjoyed this experience and would return without hesitation. I've found that restaurants attached to hotels are generally not noteworthy but this is one of the exceptions.
highlite of my Albuturkey adventure
Dinner at the Rancher's club was all we had hoped. Excellent Steaks, appetizers and salads. Service was friendly, attentive and professional. We wanted a special meal for our holiday visit and this was the right place.

My favorite alb restaurant. This trip service and food not up to normal standards. Will try again
We had not been to the Rancher's club for about a year and things have changed quite a bit. We arrived at 6:20 PM for a 6:30 PM reservation and were told that it would be a few minutes. A man who was also inquiring about his table was told the same thing and he said he had been there since before 6:00 PM. The cocktail waitress was very nice, and the drinks from the bar well prepared. We were finally seated about 7:15 PM and had a waiter who has served us before. Although the restaurant was clearing out soon after we had ordered and a few tables were seated after us, we were the last table to get our food. The food was fine and was hot and prepared as ordered. The wine was a different story. The amount that is served as a glass is about the same amount that is served at another establishment where I go regularly for wine tasting events as a taste. Overall the experience was a bit disappointing. Then I received notification from Open Table that the restaurant reported that we had not shown up for our reservation. This had been a favorite restaurant for special occasions, but I believe I will look elsewhere for the next one.
