Pierpont's at Union Station Ratings and Reviews
Met up with friends
We had a lovely waitress and the specials were very tempting. Menu was amazing, food was delicious. Service was perfect.
My wife and I went to Pierpont's for dinner. Due to the nature of the building it is a little noisy. With that said, the price for the food was as expected and the food tasted excellent. Our server was very helpful, attentive, and kind although very busy (which is a great sign). The one thing that I say might be considered a slight negative is that it takes a while for your food to arrive. We were seated at 7:30pm and had a four course meal. By the time we ate and left we had spent two hours. If you go just keep in mind that you will be in the restaurant for while. My wife and I were completely satisfied with our experience.

Food was extremely good. Had the four course dinner with filet and my wife had the three course dinner with filet. Both were vooled pefectly and so tender you could cut with a fork. Waiter was very attentive without crowding you. We look forward to another opportunity to visit Pierponts at Union Station
This was one of the finest dining experiences that I have had in KC in over 40 years. It was the chef's last night and her departing special was beyond belief. Halibut, grilled cantaloupe and spicy hash were a flavor surprise and texture delight. WOW!!

Always great food and service.
Enjoyed another great dinner, with perfect meal size in the pairing menu.
Always a good experience at Pierponts! From the hostess to the wait staff...everyone is engaged, friendly, on-task, welcoming and attentive. Always a good time. Highly recommend Pierponts!
Our server Courtney was very attentive and friendly. She had good recommendations that we appreciated. The food was good. Hard to mess up steak if you're a steak house. The crab bisque was very tasty and satisfying. And we liked the 3 course menu which was plenty of food. Would I go back? Yes, but I don't go out that often and want to try other places as well. Thanks
Wonderful dining experience.
Wonderful dining experience.
I have been to Pierponts at least a half-dozen times. The service, ambience and food are superb. The multi-course meal selections offer the best value - appetizer, main course and desert for $39. Amazing. Beautifully prepared selections.
Coolest restaurant in KC!
This is my favorite restaurant in all of KC!!! The interior space is so beautiful. Food is good. Glad you brought back the bread instead of the rolls, too!
Easter brunch items were very disappointing.
We usually enjoy Pierponts, but Easter Sunday is clearly not the time to dine there! Our food was dry, cold forced selections on a prix fixe menu that provided lots of nice culinary language but little culinary talent.
Easter Brunch! Great menu! Great Service!
Really enjoyed the Easter Brunch offering at Pierpont's at Union Station. It offers an excellent bar area for a before dinner drink and quiet dining area. The wait staff is some of the best in town. Pierpont's should be on everyone's list for a romantic dinner or special occasion. They also have really nice dining rooms located downstairs for larger groups.
Special dining for a special evening
We chose Pierponts because we were celebrating an evening with our sons, one of them having a birthday in a few days. We were looking for a dining experience that had class, uniqueness, flavor, and ambience. Pierponts met them all! The guys had steaks and I had the chicken. Each prepared with lots of flavor! One steak was not quite as requested (medium), but still thought it to be one of the best steaks for flavor and tender qualities he's ever had. We tried the pulled rabbit appetizer - very unique, and tasty. Service was simply outstanding! On all counts! Noise level was very manageable, and architectural details were beautiful and elegant. I rated value low because the portions on appetizers were barely enough to give 4 people more than a TASTE. Yes, one bite. Other than that, it was a remarkable, and memorable evening. Union Square is blessed to have a dining experience like to offer!
Great. Simply great
We had the best dinner at Pierpont's my wife and I wanted a nice romantic dinner and wouldn't go anywhere else. Great food, fantastic service and great ambiance. This is the place to go for an upscale dinner.
The steaks very amazing!!! The seafood was also excellent!

Monday at the station
We had a party of 5 with one special menu diner. The restaurant was prepared and provided info on the menu items that would fit our diners needs. Everyone choose the small plate menu and choose based upon their individual taste. Our waiter was attentive and provided any information requested with authority. Food was a little slow in between each coarse but was well worth the little extra wait. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the beautiful station with all of its history. One of our out of town guest sated he had the best steak he had ever eaten.
Pierponts is consistently phenomenal from the food to the service. The small plates menu is awesome. The wait staff is personable and the venue is beautiful. Good times!

We're very happy we revisited Pierpont's.
My wife and I decided to revisit Pierpont's at Union Station to celebrate a birthday. Our memory from a previous experience there wasn't pleasant enough to coax a return for several years. We were happily mistaken. Pierpont's was a great dining experience. We were seated in the "Booth Room" and loved it. Both of us felt the room's ambiance was unexcelled and reflected what we sought in a fine restaurant. The service was impeccable. Cortney (spelling) was an excellent waitress, very courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable, she advised us about menu items and shared some historical aspects of dining at this Landmark restaurant in Kansas City. The food was well presented and perfectly prepared. My wife dined from the Small Plates Tasting Menu and was rewarded with excellent fare. My menu selection was the Seafood Cioppino - great food, good value, and really nice people! Both of us were very happy with the experience. We are planning a return.
Hopefully just an off night
I took my husband here to celebrate his birthday. The food was good, but the service was terrible. There was a group from an event that came into the bar and were so loud that we couldn't even hear each other speak. The waiter recommended a coating for the steak that was horrible, and didn't bother to ask my husband why he didn't eat or want to take home his $65 steak. It was a huge waste of $200.

My wife and I have a tradition of going to a special place for our wedding anniversaries since for the past 41 years. Pierponts at Union Station is always on our short list. The ambiance, the food and the service is always a pleasant experience for us. One little thing though. A bit more recognition than a small chocolate wafer for such milestones in your customers lives would be nice. Perhaps a single red rose for the wife or something of that nature. Other words we will return again to celebrate other anniversaries.
Kitchen completely overwhelmed.
I felt bad for our waiter. He was decent. The food was SO SLOW. He just kept bringing bread to the table and refilling our drinks. It was lame. He would have been smart to offer to buy us a round of drinks or offer to reduce our bill. With tip our bill was about $300 for 5 of us. It's such a beautiful space. It's really unfortunate they can't make it work.
We enjoyed happy hour and the appetizers we had in the bar. Dinner was okay but not "wow!" Our servers in both the bar and dining room were really great. The dining room has a very nice atmosphere as does the bar.
Sea bass was extremely under cooked. Service was slow.

The Kansas City Strip with Oliver sauce was amazing! The service was impeccable as was the atmosphere.
Wine paired with food outstanding!
Every dish I've had here was outstanding. The Sea Scallops were cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. I've had scallops at different restaurants in this town and they are always tough, but not here. Also the wines suggestions with each dish is fantastic and on point. The ambiance is superb and if you need a quiet spot they can accomodate. Just keep in mind that you're going to dinner here for excellent flavorful dishes. This isn't a place like the Cheesecake factory that you can take large portions home. This is Fine casual dinning not Applebees
Pierpont's ar Union Station
We love coming to Pierpont's. We usually have great food and service. This visit, our waitress didn't seem to personable and kept taking away dishes and drinks without asking or before we were finished. We absolute love the bread. Strange, I know but it is so good. We loved some of the menu changes. We mixed up our usual dishes. The stuffed lobster tail is amazing as is the filet mignon. Those two items have been on there before but the small plate options had changed. The small plate four course dishes are plenty. We never leave hungry. Pierpont's has a great wine and cocktail selection. So many wonderful things to be said about Pierpont's.
We enjoyed a nice Valentine's Weekend dinner. The food was very good and the service was attentive but not smothering. Highly recommended!

Did not disappoint, above and beyond expectations
Our meal and experience at Pierpont's at Union Station did not disappoint. The food, service and ambiance went above and beyond our expectations! The historic character and charm just added to the overall experience. We'll definitely be back!

server was very attentive and very knowledgeable
The ambience was charming and the service exceptional but the food was mediocre and expensive. I guess Kansas City is not a great place to order fish.
Never disappointed her, everything is always perfect!!!!!
Great Find in Kansas City
Pierpont's is wonderful restaurant located in historic Union Station. The food was exceptional. You must have the Blue Point crab bisque. This is the best bisque you will ever have bar none. The pulled rabbit appetizer is also wonderful. The restaurant is a bit noisy due to the high ceilings but the food is worth the noise distraction.
Five of us enjoyed a great lunch at Pierpont's. The old union station is a grand building and worthy of wandering around and seeing everything. The only thing we didn't like was we had to pay $5 to park our car. Pierpont's will cover the cost of parking at dinner but not at lunch.
