Pescatore Ratings and Reviews
Our compliments to the chef. Best tastin ...
Our compliments to the chef. Best tasting dinner of them all during of our visit to San Francisco. Service was well timed so we could enjoy our meal course by course with time in between to talk and relax. We were still in and out in just over an hour. Priced well for the area.
We ate dinner here twice in one week and enjoyed both visits. The second time we sat outdoors. Service was a little slow. I had to call the waiter over when we were ready to place our dinner order. But in general service was friendly, polite and accommodating.

The restaurant had a really nice ambience. We had a really fantastic starter there!
Best Bolognese have had
Cesar salad and garlic bread mediocre but the pasta Bolognese was amazing. Quantity and Quality. Great flavour. the cinnamon gelato was a killer. Excellent value, special deal on Tuesday but would pay full price no problem. Very friendly servers and staff.
Great food, great service
Our family visited Pescatore over the weekend and the food was great and kid friendly. Our waiter Marlowe was one of the best waiters I have had in a long time. He was funny, engaging, and got the kids attention.

Our server, Marlowe, was full of energy and made our dinner experience memorable. The food was very good and we enjoyed our evening very much.
Average Italian restaurant affiliated with a hotel. service could be improved- had to flag waiters for service on a less than busy day.
Do not go to this restaurant.
I cannot give this restaurant a good review, our order of tuna and polenta was tasteless and cold, we reordered pasta with sea food and it was just okay. I make better pasta at home. Our server was very nice, but the restaurant needs to hire a new cooking staff.
Pescatore food was very good, the marinara sauces, the bread and pasta sauces all tasted homemade. I would recommend you try Pescatore.
Wow! This place was so elegant and amazing! We Went went here on Thanksgiving, & originally made a reservation for two people, though we ended up needing a table for 4. The accomdated us immediately! We ordered the steak dinner( medium rare) & the halibut dish. Everything was so mouthwateringly delicious! We all had our toddler with us, he was the only one in the restaurant... So this place is more for couples who want a nice quiet lunch. I wouldn't bring your rowdy kids here.
We've been to Pestatore many times over the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. It's a great place to start a vacation and is convenient to the touristy pier area, but is not touristy itself. Despite being part of a hotel, it seems more like a neighborhood cafe. The breakfast is always excellent, and the bloody marys are great. On this visit, food and service were excellent and we were given a complementary app for reserving through open table. Thank you, Piscatory, for exceeding our high expectation without being asked. We will be back.

Food was tasteless, bland, overrcooked. A generic hotel restaurant in the tourist district. Only bad meal I've had in San Francisco in 3 years living here.
I would give the place 3.5 stars for food if I could. It was good if nothing too special or spectacular. The price was inline with the quality. Huge meatballs, good salad, good if run-of-the-mill pizza. Not a tourist trap and given the area it is hard to avoid those places.
Both to chioppino and linguine Pescator ...
Both to chioppino and linguine Pescatore exceeded our expectations -loaded with fresh succulent pieces of fish and shellfish. Service was spotty waiter needed to be gsiled a couple of times .great spot for visitors to fisherman's wharf, pier 39 etc. Not far from cable car lines.

Good food and nice place. Only thing is that I felt it a bit expansive. Paid 120$ for a two person dinner.

Quite warm, would have preferred air conditioning to opened doors. Nice touch was a small caprese salad because we booked on opentable. Good location - couple of blocks removed from the honky tonk of fisherman's wharf. Prices were reasonable and food was good.
Great discovery in a crowded neighborhood
We were happy to find such a place in an area filled with tourist restaurants. Food was good but we were not amazed. However, the service was excellent all along the way.
great location good food
we seemed to have gotten our order lost.. 45 min for salad to come out.. then much longer for the food. not sure why they were not too busy.. may wish to avoid if busy. we felt forgotten..no table checks..top ups.. how is everything.. would think twice before going back
not what we expected
We had an early reservation and seating was quick but some delay in the service - rather than prompt service cute remarks were substituted - the waiter considered himself charming enough to overlook normal service - had to ask for refills etc. the spaghetti and meatballs were not vey tasty but it was a large portion. Think they were more into serving drinks that meals.
Excellent Food & Fantastic Service
OMG. Excellent food along with great service to say the least. We have never had a bad meal at Pescatore's nor bad service. We're looking forward to returning in the near future. We highly recommend.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant
Very nice Seafood and Italian restaurant indoor and outdoor dining. Pretty restaurant and well run
Service was good,good food.
Nice quiet place sat down immediately apps were great main course was good and decent size our waiter was there if we needed any thing. Resturant fill up quickly it was a enjoyable nite at the cafe ,would recommend it too any one .
Even better the second time around!
So we went back (prior to a show at Cobb's Comedy Club) and it was just as great an experience as before. The standard menu is excellent and the specials are obviously carefully thought out to take advantage of what is fresh and available. We generally go for one of the specials and they always come through as something special. Prices are *very* good, especially for a restaurant this close to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf. We usually go early to be able to relax over our meals and still get in line in time for a good seat at Cobb's so it's generally not terribly busy. In addition to the excellent menu, the service is impeccable - the type of service you get in Europe (and so seldom in San Francisco). Attentive and considerate, our server, Marlow, listened to what we like and recommended items on the menu he thought we would enjoy. And unlike so many sommeliers in the City, he asked what we liked and made a recommendation that was excellent, but didn't cost an arm and a leg. Definitely a keeper and very, very highly recommended!
San Fran family dinner
Great table and service! Traditional Italian with a flare. Loved spaghetti and meatballs. Great wine list.
Look elsewhere for food
Nice location and nice enough place, but the food is overpriced for the quality you receive. Service was okay but at times could be very slow

GREAT service! Food was hot and our waiter was funny and full of local information!
Wonderful dinner, highly recommended!
We went here for dinner the other night while my parents are visiting the Bay Area. They were doing the Big Bus Tour, so we wanted something near Fisherman's Wharf, but wanted something a little less kitschy and touristy than a lot of nearby options. Pescatore was such a great find! It was about two blocks from the bus pickup/drop-off point, which was really convenient, but still felt removed from all the Fisherman's Wharf crowds. The food was amazing. We got two appetizers for the table to start (the calimari and the polenta, both delicious), and still all cleaned our plates once dinner came. We were stuffed, but it was just that good. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive, the service was really what you would expect at a high-end place, which is not always the case at the busier touristy places in the area. We will definitely be going back if we're in the area!
We were staying in the Best Western Tusc ...
We were staying in the Best Western Tuscan in the North Point/Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. The hotel was an upgrade from what you would expect from a Best Western, and the restaurant attached (Pescatore) was also a surprise. Because we were tired from sight seeing, we decided to go downstairs to eat, which was a great decision. The linguine and clams were outstanding, we were served complimentary ceviche, and the wait staff was most attentive and friendly. The wine list was small but excellent. I would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone in the North Point/Fisherman's Wharf area.
Exceptional food and service
We weren't sure what to expect, but Pescatore far exceeded our expectations. The menu is varied and thoughtful and the service is exceptional. Our waiter,Marlowe, asked what type of wine we liked and a couple more leading questions then brought us a small glass to taste - exactly what we were looking for (and not the most expensive wine on the menu!). When asked about the specials, he guided us to wonderful choices done perfectly. One of the best dining experiences we have has in the CIty in many years... and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended - you won't regret it!
The location of the restaurant could not have been more perfect for us. It's off the hustle and bustle of the main drag in Fishermen's Wharf and it was across the street from our hotel, The Sheraton. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed their meals, wine, beer or cocktails. The menu eras a nice combination of choices. I actually was having a hard time choosing my meal. Everything looked so good.
Nice appetizer list
Really great selection.of different Italian appetizers. Great meatballs.
An old favorite
Whenever I am in San Francisco I have a great meal at Pescatore. I have never been disappointed, and have brought several grpups of friends from time to time. Keep up the good work.
Best fine dining in years
We have to thank our server Marlowe for the most enjoyable evening. His suggestion for wine and dessert were fabulous and his warmth towards us really outstanding. He's a great asset to the restaurant The food was simply amazing!!!!!
Had a locals group brunch at Pescatore and the restaurant worked out well for us. The service was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed the brunch which worked for vegetarians, pescatarians and carnivores and was reasonably priced.
No special menu!!!
First time ever to write a review and start out with a bad one. Made reservation for lunch on a Saturday during the SF restaurant week from Jan 21st to 31st. Ask for the SF restaurant week menu, they said we don't have it (what is it). Pull out the website and show them that they are one of the participant of the program. He went in to tell the manager and come back and said oh yes we have it but it is for weekdays only. I was about to walk out the door. We end up ordering brunch and it was just ok, but the kids love the fresh made pizza.
Good choice for hotel guests
Pescatore is attached to the Tuscan Inn, so it's convenient if you are staying at the hotel. The decor is "Italian trattoria"', not bad, but all hard surfaces, and the room gets fairly noisy even when not full. I had the tuna tartare with grapefruit salad. Tuna was fresh and flavorful but it was a strange combination. I also had an excellent Caesar salad, very fresh and not overdressed, and the seafood antipasti, a skillet of roasted clams and mussels with a couple of shrimp on top, not bad but a little too salty. Husband liked his bruschetta and seafood risotto, although the latter was more broth with rice in it than a true risotto. Good-sized portions. Good foccacia on the table; too bad it's not warmed. Excellent, friendly service. This seems to be a kitchen that tries hard but falls just a little short of the mark. Decent wine list, some good inexpensive Italians. Interesting mixed drinks, but we didn't get a chance to try them. We also had breakfast here, and it was fine. Prices were reasonable considering the location. Definitely a cut above your usual hotel cafe. In warm weather, you could dine out on the sidewalk and that's probably pretty nice.
Food was not as good as I thought it would be.
Food was sub par. Got a sustainable fish dinner, was rock cod. Sauce wasn't prepared properly. Food was cold. Service was good, prices are not what they should be considering the quality of food received. Resturant looks decent.

Excellent service, very friendly waiter!!!
We picked Pescatore last minute because it was near to the show we were going to. We were so glad we did! The cocktails were very inventive and fun. Our server was very funny and just an awesome overall server. He talked up the calamari steak special so well that 3 of the 4 of us ordered it and even though I really like my crab ravioli, I wish I'd ordered the calamari steak too! I had a bite of my husbands and it was so delicious! Desserts were also fantastic. I wish we lived closer so we could go all the time!
