Dined on April 22, 2016

Some food was delicious, some was mediocre. The escargot was great, as was the cheese and meat appetizer. I'm no expert on French cuisine, but to me the filet was incredibly bland. The sauce was OK, but maybe that's how filet is prepared in France. That being said, the potato and cauliflower gratin was tasty, and the green beans were cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very friendly. When my mom, who was visiting, told the server she didn't like the skate, they took it off the bill and gave her gazpacho instead. I thought that was totally awesome of them!

Parking was easy, using the garage behind the restaurant for a flat $5. We were immediately greeted when we entered and were offered our choice of seats. The staff was excellent and was genuinely excited to share a French experience with you, gladly answering any and all questions. The food was absolutely delicious! The neighborhood was pleasant and we enjoyed a nice walk afterward. I heartily recommend Paris 66 to anyone interested in French cuisine or simply a special evening.

Real food, real service.

It was a treat to have french speaking staff at the restaurant. The tables by the restrooms lack that cozy feeling, but I guess someone has to sit there. It's a small place. Make your reservation early.

A Very Good and friendly Bistro

Dined on April 16, 2016

We like Paris 66 a lot and our visit last Saturday generally very good. Our only problem was that the couple at the table next to ours were visited by friends and both couples stood and chatted for about almost ten minutes. Since the tables on the porch are so close together, they might as well have been sitting at our table and it got to be annoying. The behavior of these folks was certainly not a fault of the restaurant and when finally I politely asked them lower their voice, they did and moved on. What otherwise would have been delightful dinner for two was somewhat spoiled by this incident. So, if you want a quiet intimate dinner, I suggest getting seated inside where there is a bit more space around the tables, rather than on the porch. All that said, the food and service were, as always, excellent.

Disappointed

vip
Dined on April 8, 2016

Somehow, the concept of Paris 66, that of a Parisian bistro serving traditional "country" French fare, is better than the actual experience. I've had good meals there and I've had so-so meals there, and last night was so-so. Cassoulet should be a signature dish for this bistro. I've had it many times, in many places, even France, and this cassoulet was memorable for its blandness. Dry, tasteless sausage and duck leg, and the beans, far from being creamy and tasty, seemed undercooked and bland. Maybe a little more time cooking and a little less time under a heat lamp? This was definitely not worth $39. My wife ordered the entre-cote, and we ordered a Sancerre, a red Pinot Noir. Out came a white. The server was unaware there was such a thing as a red Sancerre. C'mon Paris 66! You can do better than that!

A Little of France in Pittsburgh

Dined on April 8, 2016

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Pittsburgh area. It has a true French flavor to it. Our server was French and very charming. Like most French restaurants it is a place to relax and to take the time to enjoy the food and the wine. The food is excellent and the desserts are wonderful. A must try!

Very accommodating.

Dined on April 1, 2016

We had a large party of 12 and the restaurant was very accommodating about giving us separate checks. We had only one waitress (with a trainee in tow) who was also responsible for many other tables, but she gave superb service. She never wrote down our orders for drinks or food, but she got everything right! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all questions very capably. Food quality was very good and all in our party were very pleased with what they had ordered.

Delighted

Dined on March 22, 2016

I was simply delighted to visit "Paris 66" for the first time. I ordered the "special" of the evening, not to be disappointed. The food was cooked brilliantly. I ordered the filet mignon, it was cooked so well, and the sauce paired with the protein was DELICIOUS. I would strongly recommend making a visit to "Paris 66" in the near future.

Dined on March 12, 2016

The food was very good; not excellent. But this restaurant is very reasonably priced so, for the money, you can't beat it. Great cocktails and wine selection! The appetizers and desserts were very good. My entrecôte entree was only average. But, again, given the price, it was more than acceptable. I would go back and try something else for sure. The service was outstanding!

Wanted someplace special for brunch while returning our son back to college. Upon entering I wasvery excited as it was very charming. We were seated in the enclosed patio area but was warm enough due to 3 heaters. We ordered and then the trouble with service started. After pouring water we never saw our server again. Never offered (comp?) mimosa, never refilled water, never checked back. She did however offer us croissant or bread and we said yes and she charged us! Food including those 7.00 worth of croissants took forever!!! We had to flag down another server and ask for help. Sadly the food was also very average for 85.00 for 3 ppl. We dine out alot and are in the hospitality business and were disappointed- to say the least. Should have gone to Pamela's.

Outstanding French Brasserie fare

Dined on February 29, 2016

Paris 66 provides the most authentic French brasserie food in the city at quite reasonable prices. The service on our recent visit was superb. The food is classic French dishes - the beef bourginion was so tasty that the baguette was used to finish up every drop of sauce. The bordelaise sauce on the pork and veal tenderloins was exquisite and both cuts of tenderloin were a perfect medium rare. You can't do better than Paris 66 for excellent food and service at a reasonable price.

Perfect for occasion!

Dined on February 28, 2016

In April I suffered a bad accident that forced me to be out of work for 4 months and still relearning to walk. My wife was the brunt of my pain and suffering through the surgeries and rehab. Now that I'm back on my feet and it was her birthday, I decided to "pay her back" for putting up with me by giving her a trip to Paris and the French Riviera. What better place to set the mood than Paris 66! She had never been there before and the whole atmosphere was perfect. Will be tasting crepes in Paris soon, but won't forget the afternoon in East Liberty.

Sublime

Dined on February 26, 2016

I can't say enough about Paris 66. Not only do I love the atmosphere and menu, but we have had Renaud as our waiter the past few times we've been there, and he makes sure that we have a "true" French experience each and every time we are there. You would never know you are in Pittsburgh when you are dining there as nothing is rushed, service is impeccable, menu is outstanding and food is....sublime. Paris 66 remains among our favorite 3 restaurants in the city and we will continue to come back as often as we can as we always feel at home.

Delicious lunch!

Dined on February 21, 2016

My mother and I decided to try Paris 66 after a friend recommended it. We were delighted with our crepes, creme brûlée, and espresso. It was a bit noisy since we were seated next to the kitchen/cooking area. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back...maybe for dinner next time!

An authentic French meal

Dined on February 20, 2016

My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our server was knowledgeable and came around at the perfect times, never too much. The food was excellent.. The crepes a nice appetizer. Our main dishes were devoured... The foie gras inspired meal was great and beef bourbuignon a classic. We left with an assorted box of macaroons that are to die for! Yes macaroons! Top it with the convenience of the new lot around the corner and we will definitely be back. Only negative is the hot temp inside the main sitting area. It's winter and I could have worn a tee shirt in there. Still an excellent night out and worth the trip.

What an amazing experience! This quaint little, family owned place is a true GF gem. They are very knowledgable with regards to gluten free. Their regular menu is clearly marked with GF the wait staff, all family, know the menu and its limits for all special diets. We had the crepes, the ribeye, and the creme brûlée. Everything was superb! Truly the most pleasant GF experience I've had in a long time. I made the reservation for my boyfriend's birthday. I didn't mention the birthday when we arrived, but because open table told them the occasion they deliver his dessert with a sparkler in it singing happy birthday in French. A wonderful experience all around, tremendous food, and great service. We will be back!

Perfect Valentine's Day date

Dined on February 15, 2016

My girlfriend and I have been coming here the past two years, and it never ceases to amaze. The staff is absolutely amazing, they show so much energy and love for Paris 66 and its guests. Briana was our server and did a fantastic job. On top of this, the food is amazing and really pushes the boundaries for a restaurant of their size. Good luck finding a more perfect spot to take a date.

Excellent food . . . except the veggies

Dined on February 15, 2016

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day meal. We enjoyed every bite except the vegetables that accompanied the main courses. They were lack luster--boiled brussels sprouts with baby corn that tasted canned and bland carrots. Otherwise the meal was truly extraordinary.
