The octopus was excellent as was the panda cotta. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I think the portions were a bit small for the price point however, even for a fine dining restaurant.

Great food, wine pairing and presentation. Chef from Charlie Trotter. No much foot traffic but hidden gem for a great dinning experience
Wonderful business brunch
I met a business colleague here for brunch and the service was top notch with great food and I really appreciated the quiet ambiance for us to have a discussion without having to shout at one another.

Quiet high quality hotel restaurant
If you are looking for a place that has good food and where you can also have a conversation with your companions without yelling, this is your place. The reception is warm, and the service personal. The food is definitely at par. There is a vegetarian menu that I enjoyed a great deal. Other persons in our group with special food needs were easily and happily accommodated.

Parallel 37 is without parallel
We have been to Parallel 37 in the Ritz-Carlton numerous times. Each dinner has been memorable. The chef Michael Rotondo is extremely talented and innovative. The 3 course tasting menu at $85 is very fairly priced for food so photo-worthy as well as delicious. The dishes are beautifully and artistically presented and taste even better. They have complex layers of incredibly fresh flavors. The sauces are exquisite reductions and purees which are never heavy. You never leave feeling uncomfortably stuffed with high fat foods and rich cream sauces. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The entire staff is knowledgeable and professional, but very friendly.

The food was wonderful but the service was terrible. After bringing us drinks after our initial arrival, we were ignored by our waiter for the rest of the meal. We eventually had to impose on another waiter to refill our waters and bring us additional drinks. To makes matters worse, our check sat on our table for over 20 minutes with the credit card inside the folio. No one ever returned to collect it. We finally flagged down a busser who was kind enough to take it to our waiter. Not the kind of service I'm accustomed to from the Ritz Carlton and unacceptable treatment for the price we paid.
Amazing Valentine's Dinner
My wife and I had never eaten here before but booked for the Saturday prix fixe dinner. Every course was stunning and the wine pairings were off the charts! Strongly recommended!
Valentine's Eve 2016
The food was good and well plated. We were expecting to order from the menu, but were limited to special Valentine weekend menu of 2 set menus. They only made an adjustment to one item on the courses.
Everything about our experience was impeccable.
Starting with the hostess, who was bright and friendly, our evening was terrific at every level. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the cocktails and the items on the menu. The food was phenomenal. I had the oysters to start, and then the fois gras hot pot - amazing. All 5 of us had the scallops and no one was disappointed - even our Seattle contingent. The restaurant is beautiful and the acoustics made it a very relaxing evening.

Excellent service and amazing food and wine! We had a wonderful New Year's Eve here!
I've had dinner here a couple of times in the past month. Both occasions were absolutely wonderful. Outstanding service, exquisite food, an excellent wait staff, and a great ambiance.
Christmas day dinner
What an unexpected surprise. I'm not normally a fan of hotel restaurants, but I would diffidently go back. Booked Christmas day dinner, 4 course fixed menu with the wine pairing. Service was great and the food was so good. Need to go again and try the regular menu. It was a bit noisy there was a large table in the back that was loud but its Christmas day and it was a large group so I would take points away for this.

Food and service was excellent, but it was a bit noisier than I like good thing manger moved us to another table.
We had a great time and an excellent meal.
The wine list is a bit pricey but a great selection. The service and food was outstanding
Cold space, poor service, avoid for lunch
I've had the good fortune to visit many Ritz-Carlton properties over the past few years. And I've come to trust the brand's promise of memorable experiences that "stay with you." While everything was okay, while I can't point to a glaring flaw, my dining experience was mediocre. Staff were largely absent when I arrived, so I seated myself in the lobby and waited. It was freezing, I was early. More than ten minutes passed before someone came into the space to take a drink order. I'd made a reservation at Parallel 37, informed my guest that's where we'd eat, but when I went to the restaurant I was told "it's closed, we're serving in the lobby...and escorted back to the bar/lobby to dine! Not what I'd signed up for. I would have chosen another venue. The service cadence was awkward. Servers arrived infrequently and when they wanted to, interrupting conversation or standing awkwardly nearby as one of us finished a thought. All of this would have been fine at a mom and pop restaurant, but I didn't select a mom and pop restaurant. I expected better. I won't be back.

Great food and service. Beautiful presentations.
reasonable prices. left full and satisfied. liked that they have different tasting menus.
Romantic, great restaurant in a beautiful hotel.
Stayed at the Ritz for the weekend, great hotel! The pre-fixed menu was a great option, all the food that came out was prepared with precision and immaculate attention to detail. The brioche bun was incredible, I wanted more. The little dessert they give you to cleanse your palette was awesome as well.
One of the Best in SF
Parallel 37 truly is a hidden gem -- hidden in the Ritz Carlton on Stockton that is. The food is an art form and the service is Ritz-caliber. They will know your names when you walk in a second time. Which you will.
Great food tiny (& I mean Tiny) portions
The food is fabulous and the attention to detail admirable. However, the portions are unreasonably small. On some courses it is difficult to even construct one whole bite form the entire dish. This is unfathomable. I've been there four times (b/c I do love the food) but left dinner still hungry and I am an average eater, normal weight and height. My recommendation: serve less bread, at least 3 - 4 medium bites on starters and at least 6 bites on the main course. I think the desert course is a perfect size. One additional critique: last timer were there they forgot the cheese course and the mignardesis. Not a big a deal, but with a restaurant that pays so much attention to detail to forget two courses is like a maestro forgetting two whole move movements of a symphony - this left me scratching my head after the dinner as I was I enjoying my my sandwich because I was still hungry.

Worst service at a bar & Restraunt I have ever had a Ritz!! They appear very disorganized with poor management!! Food & atmosphere was nice but horrible service!!
Wow!Great 3 course meal for $65,elegant, delicious
We had 3 courses, plus a 3 course of tiny appetizers, all very elegant and creative. Both of us had carrot soup with cumin oil, great items decorating it and adding flavor. Then 2nd course of foie gras/duck and lobster with pumpkin risotto. Have the duck,it stood out as so delicious. Then hen terrine with chanterelle and ancient grains with jus. Very innovative. Desert was very tasty, with a unique method of presenting. Fit for foodies!
Needs to find its path
We were staying at the Ritz-Carlton in which this restaurant is located and heard that the chef had previously worked for Charlie Trotter in Chicago. We had high expectations when we ordered the chef's tasting menu. The results were OK, with some missteps, but we found the service and the ambience quite disappointing for the price. The tables had no tablecloths and the section of the restaurant immediately adjacent to our table was occupied by a boisterous wedding reception. This was not an auspicious beginning. As I mentioned, we ordered the chef's tasting menu and asked the sommelier to recommend a wine. He went off to ponder this question and while he was doing so, I looked over the wine list and found an earlier vintage of a wine I love, which turned out to be excellent. The sommelier came back and approved of my choice but really didn't have a hand in making the selection. The cooking itself used quality ingredients and some of the dishes were creative, but others were either too spicy (Kim chee in the amuse-bouche? Not a good idea to kill the taste buds before the first course!) or fell flat. We're no strangers to fine tasting menus, and we've had many that had far better balance and creativity and value for their prices. Our waiter was a bit busy and sometimes we had a hard time flagging him down. He explained the courses well, but some of the other servers were difficult to understand and one of them was quite rough at placing the dishes on the table and removing them when each course was finished. The chef's aspirations to a fine-dining establishment require refinement of the cuisine as well as significant improvements in the service and ambience. On the other hand, if the intent of this restaurant is to be casual and large-group-friendly, perhaps the prices and culinary ambition should be more moderate. This is a restaurant that needs to find its direction and reach for excellence there.
Great food, great service, good ambiance
Little disappointed in the location as I had thought that this would have some city views but it is actually on the first floor near the lobby. But service was excellent, food was excellent and ambiance was pleasant and cozy. Food was definitely the highlight!! We ordered 3-course fixed menu and loved everything..even the vegetarian people who asked for chef-surprised were very happy!
I would say if you are going to Parallel 37 you should order the Chef Picks. It will amaze you! The chef is creative and every part of the meal is an experience. It felt adventurous not knowing what any part of the meal would be and that added greatly to the excitement when the gorgeous course was placed in front of you and each course was expertly paired with a wine that truly expanded the flavors. exquisite!
lunch in abar
fair food indifferently served slowly not in the restaurant in the bar.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Parallel 37 last week with our family. The food was outstanding. The service was above expectations. We brought our tween aged kids and the staff was happy to prepare a combination of items from the regular menu and the kids menu for them. The dishes recommended by our waiter were excellent, but every dish on our table for 8 was exceptional. We highly recommend and will return on our next visit to San Francisco.
Michelin Star where are you? Long over due!
I dine here whenever I am in the Bay Area. Approximately every six to eight weeks. I have never been disappointed. This time I had the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing...Chef Michael Rotondo out did himself! The meal was magnificent! Not to mention, the wine pairings totally enhanced the meal. Can't wait to return!

We had the 8 course tasting menu -- which is more like 12 courses with the extra tastes they gave us-- and every dish, every taste, was amazing and different and tasty and beautiful.
Very good meal there
Enjoyed the meal from Chef Michael Rotunda who came from Charlie Trotter in Chicago to steer the kitchen at Parallel 37 at Ritz Carlton. Very nice place and fit for all occasions Nice tasting menu options plus bar menu..
Food to knock your socks off
Michael Rotondo's kitchen should be two Michelin Stars! Every time I dine here, the good gets better and better! I gave dined around SFO at top rated and Michelin star restaurants, and none can compare to this kitchen! Chef Rotondo is a true master of this kitchen. Everyone should be so lucky to have a chance to experience the food at this location. You will NOT be disappointed!
Our servers, Roger, Keaton and Teresa, were very attentive and cheerful. I will come back.

i just love the place, the ambiance, the food, the waiters and guest relation officer. very courteous and friendly! i give them 5 stars!!!
Food At Odds With Restaurant
Although the ambiance, decor and service were impeccable, the food here left us feeling the chef may not be tasting his own creations. Weird flavors throughout. The linguini with crab dish - we could not taste the crab (specks that they were) over the vinegary strange purple-ish noodles. My strawberry dessert could have been great - except for the sludge grey mystery puddle under it all. Food is over-rated and awful.
Great food and service
We ordered the $95 5 course tasting menu. Done in our party asked for no sea food. Both servings with and without seafood were excellent and with with unique tastes and beautiful presentations. $30 corkage fee. Highly recommended for great food and service in a quiet and pleasant setting.
