Palm Restaurant - NYC Too Ratings and Reviews
Still very good
I went to the original more than 50 years ago; this one has a lot of the same character although the drawings on the wall aren't as good; on the other hand the waiters were friendlier. We had a family lunch, a bit late so nice and quiet. Steak with chopped salad a bargain for lunch.
Old New York at its best
As ever, had a great meal and a great experience at The Palm...we will always miss 837 but 840 does a great job too. We had a four pound lobster that was succulent and delicious. How about some more Mets on the wall??
always, always outstanding food and service. love, love, love this restaurant!
They open at 12 noon. Arrived there at 11:54 a.m. Won't sit us at all. I thought they work for the govt. The one in Tribeca is far better. Don't go to this one!!!!

Never disappoints. Oysters were fresh and sweet. Chopped tomato and onion salad w/ house blue cheese is a guilty pleasure and out of all the tri-state steak houses, Palm has the best bone in rib-eye. Manny and his staff are top notch and professional. $24 for a GLASS of Cabernet is excessive. A true NY steak house experience
One of my favorite steak houses
Tradition is that we go to opening game and then to the Palm for steak. Been doing that on and off for 40 years. Last year, opening day (Yankees) and closing day (Palm) fell on the same day. So, we did both and expected the original Palm to reopen soon. Sad news came later that they were not reopening. What to do? Palm Too is right across the street but would it be the same? Close your eyes and you'd never know you were in a different restaurant. The special, porter house, was excellent, cooked perfectly. Creamed spinach (of course) and half n half were delicious. Tradition lives on. Not sure if this is the best steak house, now that there are so many, but it is the best tradition. We'll be going there as long as I can walk. If you're a traditionalist, there is nothing like the Palm on 2nd Ave, the Original (almost).
The Palm never disappoints. I always enjoy my dinner everything is so well cooked and seasoned! My husband's family has been going here for 40+ years and they introduced me to Palm Too, I am hooked!

Had an amazing porterhouse steak, the 837 Club special of the month. We loved every bite. Shrimp cocktail continues to be a winner dish. Service that night was not what we are accustomed to - disappointed on that front.

837 Club Fan
As a long-time member of The Palm's 837 Club (address number of The Palm's original location on 2nd Ave), I love my reward for loyalty --- a free 3 pound lobster for my birthday! This year my wife and I celebrated on my birthday by splitting that lobster and a filet mignon. Yes, surf and turf, including a super Caesar salad, great sides and carrot cake for dessert. It was a totally old-fashioned classic steakhouse dinner that The Palm does perfectly. Everything was just great--every course , the wine, the ambience, and the wonderful service from our charming waitress, Linda. We eat here as often as we can. You will feel at home there, too.
great steak as usual and the cottage fries amazing.
This time we were at Palm Too for a birthday dinner with friends. The Gigi salad was very good and quite filling. The filet mignon was excellent, as were the sides! Leave room for delicious desserts such as key lime pie and the moist chocolate layer cake.

Great food-service was only ok-could've been much more attentive.
Not up to expectations
I ordered the bone-in Rib eye medium rare for $59 which was overcooked and a bit dry. My partner ordered the Veal Marsala which was good but not great. I felt the Palm Too did not rise to the excellence I would have expected from their prices or the Palm restaurant brand.
Wath a nice place to go ....!!! It is a must in NYC. Love the place, the ambiance, the food

The specials were great. Service was awesome. We'd go back !
When you go to the Palm you never have to worry about the food being inconsistent. It is always great. My husband introduced to me the Palm Too, and we've been going for every special occasion.

Great steak in a great low-key joint! The salads and sides were delicious too. Our waitress was terrific too!

THE BEST STEAK!!! This was my first trip to NYC and my boyfriend said you must go here. He came here all the time when he was growing up. He named Gus and Frankie which they still work there to this day. I thought that was pretty cool. My friend and I made reservation I would recommend as they were packed! We were seated within 5 mins and the service was awesome! We both had steak, the three cheese potatoes and asparagus. They gave us spinach by mistake but brought the asparagus right out. This was the BEST Steak I have ever had. I like mine Medium and is was PREFCT! Great food and great atmosphere! Cheers and enjoy!
Can depend on the Palm to deliver great steaks consistently. The food is excellent and the service extremely friendly and courteous. This atmosphere is classically New York!
Another Great Night at the Palm Too!
In the past, I have had mixed experiences going to the Palm. When they are "on" they are great, but on off nights......not so much. BUT...the last 5 times I have been to the Palm (over a 18 month period) they have been ON, EVERY Time. Bravo! Going there, I have always found the entire staff to be friendly. But recently, every item coming from the kitchen has been spot on. I am going to start going a more often and include them in my regular rotation of NYC steak houses.
Everyone was happy!
Enjoyed a great dinner with my mom, nephew and niece who mastered a 3 pond lobster. Emily and Leonard provided outstanding service.
Great Steak and Sides
Love the palm, it is always so wonderful. The steak is always very delicious and cooked just the way we like it. The sides are always so fulling and of course that chocolate cake at the end is amazing! Thanks for having us Valentines day weekend
Best lobster in town great steaks and veal chops❗️
As good as it always was
Great steak dinner. Outstanding service. Always pricey but well worth it. The steaks are some of the best in the world and always cooked to perfection. Great wine list to select from.

Amazingly attentive and friendly staff, everything cooked and served with great attention to detail. Best veal parm in the city.
Another satisfying dining experience
We went to the Palm two for their special Sunday prix fixe dinner. It was very satisfying and very ample. We will certainly go again. I am a frequent diner at the Palm and the 827 club is great! As always we left satified

Reservation at 8:15pm. Seated at table ZZ at the door to the kitchen. If our guests hadn't arrived and been seated before us I would have requested table change. Waiter arrives to tell us they are sold out of all specials (at 8:15pm) and they have also run out of porterhouse for two (at NY's signature steakhouse). Waiter recommended against the NY Strip and ended up with some unknown rib cut which I ate 1/3 of and pushed it away. Thank goodness a client had given me a gift card or we would have paid $500 for one of the most Unsatisfying meals I've ever had in NYC. Notwithstanding the exorbitant price, I just wish I had my time back because I can't believe that I lost a wonderful opportunity to dine graciously in NYC. Waste of time and money. If you are a tourist, which we are not, and you want a true New York experience - at this price- go elsewhere. Anywhere else.
A BIG Disappointment
We are repeat diners and were first offered a table next to the kitchen and then an occupied table! After finally being seated and very uneven spacing between the appetizer and main courses, our sides were cold and our daughter's steak was first overcooked (which the waiter argued about) and then undercooked. We conceded defeat and did not stay for dessert; we will not be returning.
In a city with so many good restaurants and so many good steak restaurants, this one is underwhelming, to say the least. The martinis were great, but the steak was just fair.
Loved the chicken parmigan. Better than the steak. Better than the lobster. Also had Brussel sprouts which were good.
gift Card rip off
They offered a $25 gift card, good on your next meal, for signing on. I did so, but was billed $25 on the check! Good for only 60 days, then to expire. I gave it back and got that refund. A very foolish loyalty program! I've been going for years as a splurge meal. Next time it will be at a different steakhouse...
A surprise disappointment
Steaks were either overcooked or undercooked. One person ordered surf and turf and the steak was so late he took it home. Drinks took a long time to arrive, unusual for the Palm. As a result the ice had melted down and created a watered down drink. I'm a big Palm fan and customer, but this visit was a bust.
We ate at Palm Too for a birthday celebration. We had been to the Palm Tribeca several times but this was our first at Palm Too and it didn't disappoint. We had a delicious meal and a wonderful waiter who was so attentive. It was a great night and the dessert was to die for!
Food was great, can't go wrong for steaks! Our server, Unberto and Busboy, Angel (who should be a server) were both outstanding. This place is always good experience.
Guest High Five me for recommendation
The guest was extremely satisfied and even high five while walking by the front desk. - Hilton Manhattan East !
