Pallet Ratings and Reviews

This is now one of my all time favorite restaurants. What can I say, everything was perfect!
Excellent Service, but underwhelmed by the food.
The service was excellent but the food was adequate. My Boar and risotto was cooked well but lacked flavor (just bland). The steak was tough. The chicken was just nothing special. The best part was the fries/potatoes and meatball appetizers which were excellent. I really wish I could give a better review but the food was just not up to par with the price. The staff was excellent and the building/decoration was very cool. I would suggest Tin Angel or Copper Onion if you are more interested in the food.
It was okay
I really liked the restaurant until I tried the food. It was seriously bland. I usually like my food a little bland and I've never complained about the amount of salt in a dish. But this place really needs to use more. I got the wild boar risotto and my husband got the wagu steak. Both dishes were really lacking salt. For the price compared to quality, I would not recommend this restaurant. The ambiance was fantastic though and the service was above average.
The scallops were probably best in town. Appetizers were delicious, fun, creative. Risotto and the lamb were not as amazing as one would expect. Still, one of the best restaurants in town. Elegant yet relaxed. Romantic. Loved it.
Limited food options for kids and veggies
Great ambience and great customer service. Can do better with options for veggies
Regrettably Pallet was a huge bust. With mixed reviews I decided to make reservations and give it a shot. I love the SLC food scene and smaller restaurants.-We have so many great options! We went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy at all. This inside is gorgeous and they put a lot of time into the craftsmanship and design. But that is where it ended. The food was okay. When I asked the waitress what one of the ingredients was in one of the cocktails, she smirked and told me, then walked away and whispered to another waitress and they continued to do this to other patrons as they trickled in. (I ordered wine instead, but my husband had a cocktail and it was a let down too:( )But come on-Let's educate one another in a nice way, and be kind. Great idea with the restaurant-but I can't suggest this or patron it again.

I had heard good things about Pallet and I was not disappointed at all when we went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We went on a Saturday at 8:30 (with a reservation) and the place was pretty full and buzzing at the time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, exposed brick and huge light bulbs were very pretty. We started with the full charcuterie board and it left nothing to be desired. I very highly recommend it. Then we had the truffle yukons (cooked to perfection), and the scallops (cooked to perfection). The cocktails were good (Singapore Sling and Lady in Red), and we fully enjoyed our night. Very knowledgeable service (though a tiny bit slow, but they were busy) and an overall fantastic experience!
Get away with friends
It was a date night with my friends and we loved the atmosphere. The food was unique and flavorful with great presentation. The uniqueness of the building and the old world feel of the decor set a beautiful stage for a lovely evening with friends. Definitely going back , hopefully the weather will be warm to seat out on the patio .

New Favorite Place
Great food! Trendy vibe! Josh was an excellent and attentive server - we'll make sure to go when she's working again. The beets were AMAZING! Who thought veggies could be that good!
Go if you haven't!
We'd had drinks here before but somehow had not gone for dinner. Possibly the best dining experience I've had in Salt Lake City. The menu is not long, but well varied and original. I had a spicy lamb with couscous and my companion had the wild boar risotto. Both were delicious, delicately seasoned and perfectly cooked (I preferred the lamb myself). The wine list is also not long but adequate- the Spelt Montepulciano was a good accompaniment to our meal. The server was informed and friendly- just right for a place like this. The room is genuine early 20th century industrial, nicely finished and intimate. All in all an excellent experience.
From entry through desert service was great. Pork Belly ap was outstanding and our Branzino and Chicken were prepared perfectly. Limited but good wine list as well. I can highly recommend Pallet!

Risotto is fantastic. They can make it vegetarian per request as well. Service was great. I reserve this place for bachelorette night. We had it such a great night.

Had an outstanding dinner experience at Pallet. The service was great, recommendations were spot on and the ambiance was perfect.
Looks great, less tasty
A cool vibe to this restaurant sets great expectations for good food. The food looked great, but the entrees were over-spiced, while the brussel sprouts tasted more like bland, micro-wave frozen than and edgy and tasty dish. This restaurant seems to lack a chefs touch, though it has all the elements to be great.
Best Restaurant in SLC!!
The food is incredible. Have tried several entree dishes and every one is unique and delicious! The decor is clean and elegant with a subtle ambiance--great for a date or special occasion. We have been served by Chris, three times and his service is outstanding. By far the best restaurant in SLC for MANY reasons!
My wife and I are foodies and picked a local restaurant within waking distance to our hotel based on the previous reviews and menu found on the internet. We ordered the Wild Boar Risotto and the Lamb Osso Buco with a bottle of wine. My wife and I always trade dinners so I can attest that both meals were fantastic. The risotto was done to perfection and the amount of boar was impressive while the Lamp barely required a knife . With a chef named "Buzz Willy" how can you go wrong, did I mention my wife is a professional chef as well ? She was totally impressed, see you next year Buzz.
inciting food, inviting ambiance, w
Although beautifully candle lit, was hard to read the menu...the menu changes with the season, do check it or before going in. It will intice your taste buds. Dessert menu lacked in the chocolate department. Still had good choices if you're into ice cream or sorbet.
small and intimate venue with great food
A great venue with a rich ambiance, and chefs that make a great selection of food. the Staff is some of the best in town, they know the menu really well, and can help you make a great choice. I went with my wife, and we really enjoy a date night out, and then went back for a small work dinner with a couple people from out of town. They were very impressed, not just with the restaurant, but that Salt Lake city has such a great restaurant scene. Their menu changes, and the dessert menu dropped the Pot de Creme, and the rest of the dessert selections were okay, but very experimental.

Charcuterie was good but a little over priced, really enjoyedthe warmed olives in basalmic. Portions on all our meals were very generous. Bartender choice cocktail with Drambuie and Bourbon was excellent.
Great atmosphere...not so great food
Pallet was recommended as a great new place in town so we thought we'd give it a try. The atmosphere was very eclectic and looked to be fun. The food....not so much. Osso Busco was ordered and the waitress did not know that they were out of it until about 15 minutes after orders placed. They subbed with lamb shank, but just not the same thing. The wild boar risotto was disappointing. The risotto itself was great, but it was served with wild boar...a far cry from it. I have had wild boar many different ways and what was served was not boar, but rather duck or some other dark meat poultry. Unfortunately the person who ordered it does not eat poultry, which made the switch more apparent. The scallops were good, not great.....average. We had to swap meals around so that all could eat something. No attempt was made to change out the order when we told the waitress of the problem. Average food, maybe disappointing to a foodie like some of us are.
Pallet I wish you put as much effort into your food as you did with the design of your dining room. the food was a bit pretentious. Our first course was the beet salad which has been on the menu for more then a year. first bite was overwhelming vinegar, I know they are pickled but come on. obviously no one tasted the food before it left the kitchen. The plate up was beautiful, but worthless if proper cooking methods are not used. I had the branzino it was cooked properly and seasoned well but it was really the only thing that looked interesting on the menu and it was the same dish it was over a year ago that I had. t here is a lot of potential in this restaurant the staff the culinary knowledge and the beautiful dining room. I would love to eat at pallet again in a year and see a new menu and the food brought up to the next level. It would also be nice if a FOH manager touched the table. thanks and good luck, really you got this step it up
Good food in a warm and rustic atmosphere.
On our first visit to the Pallett, the three people in our party had three different entrees, the trout, the branzino and the risotto, plus our own picks from the charcuterie board. We were all pleased with our orders and intend to return to try more dishes.
Great little vintage restaurant, with a good atmosphere.
Great food, but small portions
Fun new place to try. The food was excellently prepared but the portions are very small and the prices are quite steep for what you get.

Nothing could have been better. Food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic. World class menu and execution.
Fun and delicious
Pallet is a pleasing, quirky neighborhood spot with very good food and excellent service--friendly and unpretentious. We had beet salad, scallops, fried potatoes and farm salad and were pleased with everything. It may not be to the level of Bambara or even Martine, but it's right under that level of finesse and ingredient care.
Sous vide Elk anyone
First time might have been a charm but my special was elk steak cooked sous vide (temp controlled bath to perfect medium rare throughout) seared in duck fat and paired with roasted leaks and whatever - it was all good. The wife had some trout that seemed to fit the bill but I had to share my elk steak as well. Service was quite good, as was the ambiance too.

Took my girlfriend for a belated valentines night out. I had the chicken, which was very tasty. She had the trout, which we both agreed was a little on the salty side, but had good flavor. The interiors are beautiful, industrial with a warm, inviting feel. They had some good music playing at moderate level. I would have preferred it maybe a little softer but that's just me. Overall, maybe a little pricey for the casual night out (on my budget) but defiantly worth for a celebration. Pallet provided the intimate space and ambiance myself and the lady friend were searching for.
Fantastic place, great food and service.
Fantastic place, great food and service.
Pallet is a winner!
First, at our table I was the only one drinking. But my "Guy on a Buffalo" was a great take on the classic Old Fashioned. Second, the food was just awesome--for each of us. Third, they were a little slow on the delivery so the waiter comped our desserts (which we probably wouldn't have ordered). And they were worth the calories. The Banana Nut Bread was not just a slice of bread--garnished with bananas and ice cream, it was plate-licking good. Our companions split the Cinnamon Bunnuelos and didn't share, so my guess is that they were pretty good too!

Memorable food and service. I recommend to everyone I met on the lift in Park City.
Hidden away but worth the search!
I must have driven by the place a dozen times over the years and never saw it but we are glad we found it. Cool interior , great food and a neat old type writer by the bathrooms to leave notes!

I was looking for a place to take the wifey for dinner. Pallet falls somewhere on the nicer end. They have various art work hanging thought the space. They also make it a point to really capitalize on the concept of restoring the "spirit" of the space that was built 100 years ago. Lots of use of reclaimed wood in their flooring, the tables... there's an old typewriter in the back that patrons can type notes and post on the wall. It's not an original atmosphere, but it's still very quaint and well done. After getting a rundown of the menu by our server, we decided on an appetizer followed by two entrées. For the appetizer, we picked the "full board" option of their charcuterie and cheese selection as it seemed to offer a lot of variety in terms of tastes and origins/styles of the way the meats/cheeses were made. When it came out, my wife and I were surprised at how big the spread was. It could have almost served as a meal for two people. Served up were three meats: jamon serrano, (dry cured Spanish ham), finocchiona (a type of Italian salami), and calabrese (another type of salami apparently). Of the cheeses: casatica di bufala (Italian, from water buffalo), Comte (a French cheese), and tomme (I believe we were served a goat variety). Additionally they let you choose two snacks, we opted for the olives and nuts. Everything was absolutely delectable and although it was fairly large, the two of us had great pleasure in finishing it but it was fairly filling. It's probably be best for 3-4 people, but if you're splitting between two people then I'd recommend coming here on very empty stomachs. I highly recommend he full board. The spouse ordered the chicken, I ordered the Risotto dish with wild boar. I won't go into detail, but they were both delicious and we feel we got our money's worth. Alcohol selection was fine. They had plenty of wine, a few cocktails, some liquor, but not much of a beer selection. Service was great, no complaints. I will be likely be back.
Love it!!! great food
The scallops were fantastic and so were the lentils., I even asked our waiter to congratulate the chef on the wonderful dinner we had
Went for Valentine's day could not of been more perfect
