Palacio Ratings and Reviews
OK tapas / drinks in a prime location
My wife and I have walked past Palacio many times in the past, and we finally went for a pre-show dinner date night. Since there were sprinkles of rain outside, we decided to sit inside, though I think outside would have been preferable. At the time (6:30pm, Friday night) there were a few groups with rather noisy infants / toddlers, which was a bit distracting. The food was enjoyable, but certainly not groundbreaking, and the service was nice. Cocktails were also good. Overall, it wasn't an earth shattering culinary experience, but it was nice enough for a quick bite. They do have a rather great ambiance and location, in an old victorian house right on Santa Cruz Ave in downtown Los Gatos, and I as hinted at earlier, I think sitting outside would have been preferrable.

Salmon came luke warm to cold. They took it back, same piece, and brought it back... overcooked. Getting the food was slow. May come back for drinks but not a meal. Disappointed
Great for date/friends/family. Nice place in Gatos
Perfect date spot, or fun place with friends and family. Delicious food.
Food was great!
We have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed ourselves. We enjoy sitting outdoors only as the inside seating has quite a dark atmosphere. The service on this occasion was very disappointing - very slow. We had to wait at least fifteen minutes before someone came to check if anyone had served us. Dinner was served fine but then came dessert. Another 25 minutes before someone checked to see if we wished to order anything. Turns out the bartender was supposed to be our waitress also and being a busy evening everything took too long. This is quite inexcusable.
Good food, enjoyable atmosphere
We sat on the main floor, in middle of seating area and did not feel crowded. For starter we had oysters (OK), and the spinach strawberry salad, which was had a surprisingly nice combination of ingredients - loved it. My wife ordered Seared Ahi, which was served on blackened rice, good but not especially notable. I had the Grilled Seabass, which was delicious. Price was slightly on the high side, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great night out.

srumptious food, best service ever, good wine.
George and Rita have brought this to another level of an exciting dining experience..we enjoyed unbelievable service by our server Rass. Appetizers such the cerviche..the shrimp and of course the chips and dip were delicious. Sea Bass unbelievable and the huge Lamb Lollipops were amazing. cooked to perfection. Wine selection great. Our go to place for summer. Patio is so beautiful.
Such a unique and special setting. Food and service were also wonderful. I highly recommend.

Outstanding food. Our waitress Flower was fantastic!
Food was fine ... but nothing great about it
Food was fine ... but not better that other more ordinary and less pretentious places. Portions are small. Easily runs $30-35 pp, not including any drinks.

This my was second time at the restaurant. Love the food. This time the food took an hour to come out. Wasn't too please with. My girlfriend got beans and rice. I have the chicken dish. The restaurant wasn't that busy for the food to take that long.
I was excited to try out this restaurant, but our services was so extruciatingly slow that it really soured the whole experience. Our waiter was apologitic and a manager did come by to take out drink orders since it was clear our waiter was tied up with another table. We were all set to order dessert, but after 15 minutes of waiting to give our waiter our order, we just decided we didn't want it any more.

Awesome! The tapas (small plates) were excellent, and service attentive but not intrusive. Will return again.
Great place - terrible dining music
Most of my ratings would probably be higher if not for the terrible music! I don't want to eat at a dance club... Nothing melodic: it was hip-hop, or techno, or club noise, maybe there was a jangling Eagles song thrown in there. The atmosphere is 50% of the dining experience for me, and completely spoiled if the music is jarring and repetitive. The service was fantastic, and we enjoyed our waiters. My only complaint with the food was the beet salad, which contained about a cup of lettuce, and exactly one very small yellow beet, cut in quarters. When I remarked that the beet content in the "beet salad" was pretty low, the waiter brought me another beet and a half, cut in quarters. If I were going to return, I would definitely call to see if there had been a change in background music.

Food was delicious and excellent customer service
I was disappointed this time
But only with the seating arrangements ..It was valentines day and my GFs first time to Palacio.. being seated upstairs was not what I wanted. it did not have the same ambiance as being seated downstairs..

The food was very good. We will definitely return to try other menu items
Way pricey even for Valentines Day. Never thought I would experience a tough Filet, but here we did. Server with an attitude, impatient, reviewed the menu quickly and was curt with answers to our questions. Did not get a coffee refill or dessert until management got involved. I am disabled, and the greeter at the front was quite helpful. The Testarossa cab was outstanding, but again, very pricey. We may try Palacio again on a less hectic occasion, but never on Valentine's Day.
Great food but lousy food planning
Multiple items were sold out on Valentine's Day and we were there at 6:15pm
Palacio - Up-scale Mexicano
This was our second visit to Palacio, and I was a bit underwhelmed by the food. Food was O.K., no complaints, but I was expecting something better based on our first visit. Service was good. We were seated upstairs, which just didn't have the same atmosphere as the main floor. More of a Cali-Mex cuisine than traditional Mexican. I would say give it a try, and see if you can get a table on the main floor.
Always a wonderful experience
Palacio was perfect for our family of three. Paella was amazing, daughter's crispy chicken delicious, husband's tacos delicious, drinks always superb, and the service over the top. We enjoyed a lively dinner on the terrace with a romantic ambiance and soft music in the background. Thank you for a wonderful evening Palacio.
Great Romantic Date Destination
Guys, if you want to impress your girl, take her here. Great, different food….incredible ambiance. Very romantic!
An unusual disappointment on Valentines Day...
Went on Valentines Day with the family. Not that many people inside however the music was super loud. Asked the waitress to please have it turned down. Never saw her make the request to the bartender, so it was loud the entire time we were there. Food took 45 minutes to get to us - and not the usual scrumptous meal - seemed to be put together in a rush. I usually have a good experience at Palacio's but this one was far from the usual. We made reservations well in advance of VD, however they weren't prepared for the customers they had - not sure why. Anyway, will likely give Palacio's another chance, just disappointed that VD was such a bust.

We went here a day prior to Valentine's Day and were sitter in the main finding room by the door that takes you outside and it was a very cold night.... Needless to say very inconvenient as we were in the path to everyone bringing the food out and the door was being opened every other minute.. We wore our coats the entire time. Then the food took over 40minutes to come out, however our server was apologetic and kept bringing us chips and guacamole to accommodate the wait.. Their menu was also not as appealing for a night before Valentine's Day.
Romantic night out
I came here for Valentines Day dinner with my fiance and everything was fantastic. The food was amazing, the server was attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back here.

Overall I found the small plates to be rather large and I thought most of the food that we sampled was somewhat under seasoned. We had the braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, and chips and guacamole.
Good Call !
First time here-referral . Service was excellent our waiter was very helpful . His choice in wine was excellent. Food was above average .
We enjoyed it very much.
We enjoyed it very much. I asked for a quiet able since we were discussing a business deal . they more than accommodated us. Wonderful food, good service, friendly staff. I would do it again. One of our favorite brunch places. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Nice small group evening meal
Enjoyed a meal with the family, all of us adults. Five of us on a Thursday evening. Not crowded. I found parking on the street; for the other car there was parking behind the restaurant. Small fried tortillas and guac and salsa to start. They have tapa-like small plates as well as entres. I had a nice tasty bowl of squash soup and paella. There was a glitch in ordering that they quickly remedied. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Nice choice.
Sat. night at Palacio's
We went there for 2X previously, both on Sun. nights. Atmosphere was lovely, not crowded, not noisy. Sat. night was full, loud and the manager seated us first at an awful table next to the kitchen where the view was of the kitchen. I asked to move and was told the other possible 2 person tables had been reserved. I told him we had also reserved! He finally moved us to a quieter table away from the kitchen, but the whole interaction plus the crowd made us unwilling to ever try a Sat. night there again, and took some of the shine off our previous good experiences there!
Awesome service, great ambiance.
Awesome service, great ambiance. I had asked for a table with a good view. They gave us that, inspite of us being late. The waitress was awesome and made the right suggestions. Would have preferred if tea was warmer
different than expected...
We booked this reservation believing we were going to a restaurant with Latin based entrees (online menu). It was very different. The entree choices consisted of lamb, seabass, scallops, filet, paella, etc -very American, not even a Latin twist. They had a guacamole and tacos as appetizers and that was about it. The cocktail menu had one, maybe two, margaritas... The food was pricey for the amount you received; the service was too attentive-we had to turn him away four times before we were ready to actually place our order (we had immediately explained we were meeting family to celebrate the holidays and wanted to take it slow). All in all, a very mediocre experience, though the surroundings are beautiful; and it was warm inside on a cold and rainy night. I might be willing to try them again for lunch, but probably not dinner. The manager was making the rounds and stopped by the table to ask about our meal; but, really, we didn't want to further dampen the meal by engaging in conversation about our disappointments....it's just easier to let it go.

We enjoyed our visit to Palacio as always. Food was good, the manager waited on us and every thing went well. We have always considered Pallacio near the top of the restaurants we visit.
Modern Latin food in Victorian Los Gatos mansion
Best guacamole around, wonderful appetizers with a Latin twist, great new bar management with a flair for fresh and tasty libations. Palacio is a stylish place to impress friends and family with its superb food, ambiance and downtown Los Gatos location. The historic building is set back from the street so it is not noisy. A real gem in Los Gatos.

Impeccable service and hearty prepared food. warmed our hearts on a cold night.
I have always wanted to try this restaurant because it is housed in a grand Victorian. I am so glad I did! Our group of 7 ate lunch here. It was very quiet that day, but I imagine it is usually bustling. The waiter was very attentive to our gluten free and nut free requests. I had the chicken bacon sandwich without the bread, and it was wonderful. Juicy, flavorful, with a Greek yogurt sauce. I didn't miss the bread at all. We will definitely return for dinner sometime.
Beautiful restaurant that's right in down-town LG
Beautiful restaurant that's right in down-town LG. The outdoor seating is great, as long as its not too cold outside. All the appetizers were good but the main dishes were average.
Go in Summer, AC on in winter was awful.
Summer meal was great, but winter with AC on us, was awful. We asked to be moved, not happening. Asked for them to adjust AC, not happening. So we sat there for a long time, waiting for food. Food was good. Service poor. Wait for food long. We had to wear our scarves and jackets the entire time.
