Osteria Mozza Ratings and Reviews
Osteria Mozza makes it look easy. Great service, inventive menu and wine, wine, wine. Burrata and Braised Leeks with mustard vinaigrette, Insalata Mista and Tagliatelle with Oxtail Ragu paired well together. The wine, Sangiovese di Scansano. The side by side tables may be a bit too cozy with strangers but overall the interior is LA-NYC, dark, sophisticated yet comfortable. A memorable meal.

The food was very average, especially for the price of most of the dishes. I had heard great things about this place, but it was obvious that the level of culinary execution was lacking. Too much cheese, cuts of meat were just ok and waited much to long in between courses. Not returning and would recommend other other Italian restaurants over this one!

Server was great. Food superb. Had to send wine back twice but they were great about it.
Lived up to the hype
It takes a crowbar to get me from Santa Monica to Hollywood, but this dining experience was well worth the traffic.
Great food, great service
Mozza was a treat for our party of four. We really enjoyed all of the food we picked with the help of our waitress. We did a couple of cheese items, appetizers and pastas and then we each had an entree and shared dessert again. Everything was superb, with my favorites being the mozzarella and the apple dessert. Also, if you get a chance try their homemade sodas. The orange rosemary was delicious. The only thing we didn't enjoy at the restaurant was how loud the music was. It made it a little difficult to talk at the table because the music was blaring.
Get ready to drop some cash!
Totally fun and different, but very pricey. Lots of new and interesting things to taste. Outstanding mozzarella bar. Service was fantastic. Our server gave great recommendations and had a thorough knowledge of the menu. They should bring back the prix fixe tasting menu, otherwise the menu can be a little intimidating and the price adds up super quick. Overall, it was a fun splurge for our special occasion celebration.
My new favorite place in LA
The food and service delivered on all levels. Thank you! And a special shout out to our amazing server who also used to work at one of my favorite restaurants in NY. Thank you for a wonderful experience! :)

Started at the bar until the rest four party arrived & the "mixologist " was a warm, friendly guy with a real talent . He was the best asset to the restaurant besides the bread & mozzarella bar dishes.
When the maitre d' asked us at the end of the meal how everything was, the only word I could think of was "superb". And that is exactly how our entire dining experience was at Mozza. Every single detail was perfection-- the food (amazing, simply amazing), the ambience (lively but not noisy, and beautifully decorated), the service (our server Madeleine and her team were fantastic), the timing of the each course (never rushing us but never making us wait either-- such attention!), even right down to the temperature of each dish (I've had a number of lukewarm meals served at some pricy and well-regarded establishments-- grrr). Literally every single element of the dining experience was superb. And Nancy Silverton's ability to blend and/or layer flavors is simply incomparable-- what a meal!! What an evening! As a longtime food server, I know very well how challenging it is to be so perfect in every single way, but Mozza has it down. Incredible. Bravo!
Los Angeles Staple
I would consider myself to be a foodie or at least very fond of food and I can't stop coming back to Osteria Mozza. Although there are many excellent restaurants in this city, this one feels like home. The food is exceptionally good, practiced, and perfect every time. I will eat here on a Tuesday at the mozzarella bar or celebrate a special occasion here. The service is prompt, polite, informative, and accommodating. The atmosphere is romantic and simple, great acoustics. 10/10 always from me.
My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary here. The service was outstanding and well coordinated. The servers took time to discuss the menu with us in order to craft the perfect four course meal.

At last, a place for grown-ups!
This is a real place for grown-ups. It's not one of those loud, buzzy, trendy joints filled with annoying millennials. Dining at Mozza Osteria feels sophisticated and special. I don't know what the secret is, but the pasta at Mozza is amazingly good. And the staff makes guests feel welcome.
Fantastic Food Find
The food, wine and cocktails as well as service were excellent. All staff members seem to work well together and help each other. Every aspect of our meal - from appetizer to dessert - was excellent. The problem we have with this location is the extremely close, cramped seating (learned way too much information about our fellow diners) and the noise level inside the seating area by the bar.

Burrata flown in from Puglia. Split the deliciously charred 24 oz steak. So many delicious dishes from the Primi menu. Wonderful, attentive staff.
Everyone Enjoyed Dinner
The excellent food on the extensive menu is characterized by first rate ingredients with wonderful flavor and taste. Salads, pasta and fish (Orata) were especially good. Service was very good if not quite as top notch as the food.
One of the best meals in Los Angeles.

Pasta and Desserts are Exceptional
The food was the best I've eaten in a long time. The yummy menu had some pleasant surprises, very appealing in presentation. Our waiter was excellent, knowledgeably explaining the menu to the 6 of us in our group. The sommelier said she would help us in deciding a wine, but disappeared for about 15 minutes. It was our waiter who took our drink orders. I was motivated to research recipes for one of the pasta dishes after dinner. The pasta and desserts are outstanding. Luckily seated in one of the smaller dining rooms, we were able to chat with our friends.
One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The pastas are amazing (especially the squid ink sea urchin). The porcini ribeye is (surprisingly) one of the best steaks I have ever had. All in all, an awesome dining experience!
Rich foods that will delight your senses
Don't expect large portions, but the food will satisfy your appetite with rich flavors and decadent ingredients. Great for special occasions or when you really want to impress someone.
Some of the most unique combinations of flavor S we've ever enjoyed. But, some time during dinner, I had a severe allergy issue, that we could not ascertain its origin. The service was impeccable , I will not return due to the allergy problem, which was highly unusual for me.
Phenomenal Food, Service, and Ambience
Excellent restaurant-- what can you say about Mozza? The food is phenomenal and the service is amazing. The cheeses were terrific, the wine list plentiful, each meat was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended, top-notch.
Came with some elderly friends. Hostess asked if we would prefer it more quiet or in the main dining room. Opted for more quiet room. Worked out great. That was very thoughtful plus the food was great.
Wonderful MOZZARELLA BAR
If you have never been to a restaurant that specializes in fabulous local and imported mozzarella, go to Osteria Mozza and enjoy! You can sit at the bar and watch as the wonderful dishes are prepared by the chefs just like in a sushi bar or you can order the wonderful dishes from tables. For starters we ordered the Burrata and Grilled Asparagus and the Burrata and Cavier, and for our main entrees we ordered the Squid Ink Chitarra Freddi (purposely served cold), Gnocchi with duck ragu, and the Linguine with clams, pancetta, and spicy Fresno chiles. We also had the sauteed spinach and 2 desserts (Apple Borsellino and Bombolini). I wasn't nearly as impressed with our main course decisions as I was wonderfully impressed by the mozzarella specialties! Also, the wine list contains only Italian vintages, so don't hesitate to seek the help of the Sommelier. If we return to Osteria Mozza, we will concentrate on the Mozzarella Bar dishes!
Love, Love Mozza
Osteria Mozza is an exceptional dining and gastronomic experience! The attention and service from our server, Elyssa, and her support staff was stellar, and to be commended. We will travel the 100+ miles, and look forward to dining at Osteria Mozza again and again.
OSTERIA MOZZA = VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
We had a reservation for 8.00 pm. We arrived at 8.00pm. We were asked to wait at bar as the tables occupants were just leaving. After a long wait I went to the unattractive woman at the front desk. I told her we had been waiting 25 mins. She corrected me saying that 'no, you have only been waiting 20 mins' and THIS MAKES IT BETTER. Her attitude was awful. She actually smirked. We went back to the bar, then 10 mins. later a (what I presumed to be) Manager apologized with the same story, occupants are leaving we are clearing the table!!!!! He then asked if we had any 'dietary restrictions' really.....another ruse to keep us waiting. We left. AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT......we walked across the road to PETIT TROIS (fabulous French Food). However, they do NOT take reservations. But LUCK - they had two places. Great Food - great service. Just remember if you desperately need to go to Osteria Mozza - DO NOT arrive at your designated time - as you will NOT be seated.!!!! Needless to say, we will NOT be going back. AND, to add insult to injury - it was our 36th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY......

Absolutely loved celebrating my birthday here with my foodie family. The food and ambiance made the dinner really special. The burrata dishes are a must try as well as the Brussel Sprouts!! Thank you!

Osteria Mozza can be a noisy room if you sit in front. If you are in back nearer to the wine room it is a much cozier more private experience. The food is beyond belief. The service is 10 star. Ask to sit in Kelly's section and order wherever she points you. This is a vey special occasion restaurant for a reason. It's flawless.
One of the Best Meals We've Ever Had
We read about this place in Jonathan Gold's top-101 list and couldn't be happier that we came. From the Aperol Spritz's at the bar before we were seated, to the plates from the Mozzarella Bar, the Ricotta and Poached Egg Ravioli w/Browned Butter, the amazing Hangar Steak and the most amazing Veal I could imagine; the meal was a pleasure from beginning to end. I honestly cant remember the time I was served so many phenomenal flavor combinations I never knew existed in one sitting. It was honestly one of the most pleasurable meals I've ever had, and my fiancee was equally as impressed (if not more so). We only live a couple counties away from LA, but only go out there 2-3 times a year because we hate sitting in all the traffic; but we are already planning our next trip out there for 3 weeks from now solely so we can dine at Osteria Mozza again. We look forward to being back soon!
One of the best dinners I've ever had. Jason the waiter was personable, helpful and on top of things. Sommelier was spot on. All good, but especially the Brussels sprouts, orecchiette, rabbit, orate, and smoked mozzarella with prosciutto. I ordered the cioccolate expecting yet another adequate flourless chocolate cake - it was the best thing I've ever had. Well done, Mozza!
The service and food were amazing!
It's a must try gourmet Italian experience! The flavors were incredible in every item. The service and attention to the flow of our dining experience is 2nd to none.

We have been wanting to dine here for quite some time and were not disappointed. The experience was excellent . The menu was what I would call..... eclectic . Not for your average meat and potato diner.

Good food; service, ambiance; not special or extraordinary. The bread and olive oil most memorable. For this price point too many options, competition. Place was packed at 5:30 pm.
Everything was great, I will be coming back.
The food was great, the service was always nice and making sure if we needed anything.
Osteria Mozza is outstanding
Our meal at Osteria Monza was memorable, the best restaurant meal we've ever had. The atmosphere is classic and comfortable, not flashy or glitzy. The service is impeccable. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions, and very attentive. A house cocktail of gin and cucumber was delicious and powerful, and the wine list is one of the most extensive I've ever seen, with a good range of prices. They're known for their mozzarella, and the smoked bufala and the burrato and bacon were creamy and very flavorful. The grilled octopus appetizer was great. The orecchiette and pappardelle pastas were very delicious and done just right. The entrees of leg of lamb, grilled quail and tagliata were excellent. The dessert menu wasn't extensive, but the desserts were distinctive and excellent. This is truly a great restaurant, with delicious standard and unusual dishes.
Great meal, pricey wine list
My husband and I had dinner here with my parents on March 4th, it was a really good meal. For our main courses we had each of the 4 different fish main courses - if they're still available I'd highly recommend the branzino (bream) wrapped in chicory and the yellow tail. The yellow tail was the most surprising dish - unlike any tuna dish I'd had before but totally delicious. The team were all very helpful, explaining any terms on the menu we were unfamiliar with and making suggestions. The only point I'd really mark down is that the wine list is remarkably expensive. There are only a handful of bottles below $70, and nothing below $55 - but plenty over $200. The attached Pizzeria Mozza has a decent selection of $40-$60 wines - I don't know why some more or these aren't included on the Osteria wine list. A note on courses / quantities - we didn't want a huge meal so we shared 1 item from the mozzarella bar and 1 primi plate of pasta to start; we each had a main course with 2 side orders of vegetables between us; followed by 2 deserts between 4. This was plenty enough food but didn't leave us feeling over-full, I certainly couldn't manage the full 4 courses that are available!
