Opus 9 Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Service Better Than Steaks
We went to dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had received an e-mail coupon for"buy one entree, get one free" which was great. I ordered an 8 oz fillet mignon. I was a little disappointed. I have gotten more tender fillets at the fresh market that I cooked myself. The fillet mignon was okay, but at $44.00, I expected it to be much more tender. My husband had the cowboy steak for just over $41.00. Again, he felt it should have been more tender at that price. The appetizers, New Orleans shrimp and the seafood bisque were great.I also loved the sautéed vegetables. We also enjoyed the bread and the chocolate mousse cake dessert.
We have dined at Opus 9 several times, and the steaks are perfect. The side dishes need serious attention as they tend to be extremely dry and, for the most part, flavorless. The desserts are all made in-house and delicious. Wines are excellent and drinks are prepared perfectly. Definitely a return destination time and again.
Was visiting Williamsburg and saw ad for the restaurant. Was very disappointed. Food was mediocore for what it cost and our waiter was inattentive. Would not go back.

Our food and service was wonderful. My steak was prepared perfectly!
This has been one of the best steakhouses I've visited. From the elegant decor of the room and the delicious food they serve, this will always be my go to place from a great steak. The staff (Shane) was very knowledgeable and helped us to pair an excellent wine with our dinner selections. The evening was perfect. Can't wait to come back again for our next visit.

Best steak I've ever had. Top notch service, great wine list, special touches. I love that they pull out little flashlights for you to look at your steak after you cut into it to make sure it is done to your likeness.
Great anniversary dinner
My wife and I wanted a nice place to celebrate our anniversary. We saw Opus 9 Steakhouse on the internet and the reviews were good. We both had a 8oz Filet which was cooked to perfection. I was impressed when the servers who brought our meals asked us to cut into the steak to check it. There were two servers, one for my wife and one for me. Each server had a small flashlight to shine on the steaks so we could see how they were cooked. The service was top notch, the food was cooked to perfection, the ambiance was perfect. Couldn’t say anything more…. Very impressed.

Opus 9 has to be one of the best spots in the area. Comfortable atmosphere, attentive service, and food as good as it gets.
Wonderful experience at Opus 9.
We visited Williamsburg, VA for a long weekend and choose Opus 9 for one of our dinners. It was a great choice! I really enjoyed the French onion soup and the filet mignon. Our server was attentive and friendly. Opus 9 has a nice modern atmosphere yet it feels warm and inviting. The player baby grand piano was a nice touch. I'd certainly eat here again.
I always have a good experience at opus 9 and the reason I frequent dining there
The food, people and atmosphere was excellent
I would recommend this restaurant to any one. I love the atmosphere, people and food. This was my wife and I first time coming. It was our 12th wedding anniversary. Thanks for excellent service we really had a nice anniversary brunch.
It was a very happy birthday
Every year we gather a few friends and splurge on an Opus 9 cowboy rib eye steak on tax day. That is also the beautiful wife's birthday. All went well. Steak was great. And our server Kelly was a treat. So it was a very happy birthday. Wish I could say the same for tax day.
While vacationing for our anniversary we were told this would be a great place to enjoy dinner. Everything was amazing from the fantastic service by James, wine, dinner, dessert and atmosphere. It was a great choice! THANK YOU!
It was very nice and romantic atmosphere just what I needed to pose to the love of my life

Opus 9 never disappoints. We have been a consumer here for eight years. This evening we were joined with dear friends. Both couples ordered Chateaubriand with a fine Mendoza red. Presentation was appealing. Beef was cooked to perfection, asparagus grilled and the red bliss garlic mashed potatoes always tasty. Thanks to Louis our attentive waiter. The meal was nothing less than excellent.
Our go-to spot in Williamsburg
Our daughter is s sophomore at William and Mary and Opus has become our go to restaurant when visiting her. We have celebrated her birthdays and ours and always have a great meal and excellent friendly service. Great wine list and by the glass options.
Always top notch!

Opus 9 Steakhouse
Good as always but the menu seems a little tired. It's still a very popular place for a reasonably priced lunch
A budget lunch in an extravagant setting
Opus 9 has a great lunch menu with good food and bargain prices. The service at this lovely place is always a pleasure and adds immeasurably to the experience. Either a business lunch or a social meeting would be appropriate.
We really enjoyed our meals at Opus 9. Luis our waiter did an exceptional job with service. Our meals were prepared perfectly. Ambiance was very pleasing and low keyed. Always enjoy our meals to the restaurant.
Opus 9 Restaurant .
Great foods ! We celebrated on Easter , all four of us had Steaks as the main course . We all loved what we ordered , the best steak in town . I and my husband shared one entree for two ( T bone Steak ) , it was excellent , meat was tender and fresh .But we were not able to finished it . ( pretty big size for us ) , so we have to bring home what left on the plate . I would give five stars.
I would definitely recommend Opus 9 for a romantic couples' night out. The food is great and we enjoyed our 3 course dining for under $35 because it's restaurant month. Great selections!

We don't get a chance to eat out in Williamsburg real often. Opus 9 is one of our favorites! The food was great and service even better!!! We were able to get in spur if the moment.... We were lucky based on the number of folks dining there mid week.
Best meal ever!
We had a most wonderful 75th birthday celebration. The fried oysters were succulent. We had lamb chops and fillet mignon. We don't have words to describe how enjoyable our meals were. Our waiter Tim, was efficient, gracious and very available. It was a meal to remember!

The quality of the food is going downhill although the service and environment are great. But the prices remain high. We recently ordered a chateaubriand, which was only fair. The meat was a bit dry, the sauce was nothing special.
Good Meal at Opus 9
This is the second time we have dined at Opus 9 and in general the experience was just as good as our first visit with a couple of exceptions. The seafood bisque was just as wonderful as the first time I had it. I opted for one of the specials that was on the menu - a cherry-smoked pork tenderloin on top of herb risotto - the vegetable that came with it was cabbage but I'm not a fan so I asked to leave it off and my wife and I shared the creamed corn au-gratin. The pork tenderloin was very good but I have to say the risotto was a bit dry and possibly overcooked - also, the creamed corn, au-gratin was not as good as the first time - the "creamed" aspect was more like running liquid (not thick enough) and detracted from the overall taste of the corn when compared with the last time we had it. That being said, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her rosemary roasted pork chop once again and had no complaints whatsoever. Dessert was also excellent with my wife opting for the creme brulee and myself partaking of the chocolate concerto plus. While there were some down aspects on this visit the quality of food, the ambiance, and the level of service make for an excellent overall experience so there is no doubt that we will visit Opus 9 when we are in the Williamsburg, VA area.
I wanted a nice meal with quality meat and seafood and chose Opus 9 for that reason but I was not terribly impressed. Seemed overpriced for not very tasty food. The portion size seemed good but I would say Ruth Chris steakhouse is way better. I would not go back even with the 10% of coupon I had. Just ok.

The food was great and the atmosphere was awesome. The Lamb chops were great! Will definitely visit again.
Great place . . .
I go here a fair amount. The food is outstanding.
Opus 9 came highly recommended from a friend of mine in Baltimore who had recently visited the Williamsburg area. My father and I made reservations and dined there after I ran the Colonial Williamsburg Half Marathon earlier that day. I was impressed immediately with the beauty and ambiance of the restaurant. And then I was most impressed with the wine list and the scrumptious food. Having just run the half marathon, I was famished and devoured most of the warm, delicious bread myself! My father and I split the chateaubriand which was out of this world! It was really one of the most delicious entrees I have ever had! The service was outstanding as well. I would certainly recommend Opus 9 to others, and hope that someday Opus 9 will open in the Baltimore area!
We were in town to see Williamsburg for the first time and tried Opus 9 based on positive reviews. Our server Dillon was fabulous. The food was excellent - a perfectly cooked steak - and the salad was fresh and crisp. The wine list by the glass was very reasonable and Dillon advised us on the selections. The manager Simone stopped by the table to make us feel welcome. A five star experience for us. Service was perfect. We recommend and will stop again next time we are in town.
Another Nice Visit
Glad we had time to schedule a visit to Opus 9.. Missed our usual table and server, but all was good.
