50th birthday celebration
We celebrated my husband's birthday here. Great attentive staff, gluten free options, very accommodating. Will definitely return here when in Galena again.

Not busy for a Friday night...kind of made us wonder why
Food was great, needs to up the liquor game!
Went to dinner for our anniversary, my husband had the duck and I had the stuffed pork loin. Both entrees were very well made and we'd definitely eat here again, but both our cocktails were very weak. we finished them early on in the meal yet our server never came by to ask if we needed another. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy at the time either. They stand to sell more drinks if the waiters stay on top of them!

Fish dishes were subpar but the poutine was amazing. Also, the béchamel sauce for the Mac and cheese was a little gritty.
The building was an experience in itself. It was beautiful, simple and elegant. Staff was kind and prompt. Food was excellent! Love the Fondue!
Special night out.
Made a reservation for dinner on Valentine's day for 6:30 PM. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy but we were seated right away in the up stairs room. Service was attentive even though it was an extremely busy evening. By the time we got there many of the specials were already sold out. I had the pan seared Trout special which was OK but seemed a little over cooked and dry. It could of used some kind of sauce instead of a relish garnish. A couple of bites tasted a little fishy, but not every one. I have been there before and had the Beef Stroganoff and thought it was great. And a special note, I think the prices are the most reasonable in town. All in all I would return again but I wouldn't order the Trout.
Great menu selection. Great presentation of food. Unusual sides included. Very Tasty. Service was lackluster.
111 Main is our new favorite restaurant! Every time we come to Galena, we have to eat there. The food is always impressive and has us wanting more!
The whole experience was fantastic! The food was delicious, the server was friendly and helpful, the amount of food locally sourced was very impressive, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. I have a very restricted diet and the server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and how the food was prepared. This is one of the very few restaurants I've felt comfortable eating at since I changed my diet two years ago.
Been to this restaurant about 5 times....
And every time the food is mediocre at best. Service, wine, place is nice, but the food never quite lives up to expectations. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary, so a bit of a disappointment. Was looking forward to the garlic mashed potatoes, and it was more of garlic mashed cheese. We did order one of the more expensive steak and shrimp entre's. Husband didn't find many shrimp buried in this cheese either.
I went to this restaurant with my wife. And We ordered duck menu. It was very delicious.
We pulled this restaurant basically out of a hat after reading some reviews. This place did not disappoint. We had a reservation and were seated fairly quickly. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Not the most romantic place but a nice atmosphere with really good food. We had a great time.
Great little restaurant in Galena, IL
My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at One-Eleven this past weekend, and it was very good. Food was well prepared, and the ambience was nice. Service was okay in spite of the fact that the bartender had to both tend bar and serve diners in the bar. (Short of staff?) However, Adam did get great...in spite of it all.
Good service, Food so-so
We selected One Eleven for the farm-to-table menu and based on overall ratings on the web. Our waiter William was great - friendly but professional and knowledgeable. Most of the table ordered the steak and shrimp - the steak was small and a bit grisly, reminiscent of Applebee's. I ordered the sea bass special - the fish was cooked fine but had limited flavor, despite the chimichurri sauce and was served over mexican rice which lacked in flavor. Dessert was ok. We'd heard that this restaurant was one of the best but is spotty, so perhaps we hit it on an off night.
A nice meal with the family
The emphasis on local fare has always been a draw for us. The opening bread and butter were very good. The mixed green salad was also very good and a refreshing change from the usual iceberg lettuce. The roast pork special with apple cider sauce was unique and very tasty. I also had the bread pudding for dessert which was also very good. Though I appreciated the vegetable medley with the entree, they were cooler than the rest of the meal. It was probably the significant negative note of our meal.
Tasty Jambalaya! As well as, yummy dips!
Our server was very friendly & quite busy. Tasty Jambalaya & Spinach & Artichoke dip!

We've been to one eleven 4-5 times in the past, whenever we go to Galena. Usually, it is very good, but this time it was really poor. It's a nice place, so hopefully a bad night.

The wait staff' s timing was perfect. food was enjoyable and I appreciated the manager obliging my request for a window table.
We celebrated my husband's birthday and had a fantastic evening. Our server was wonderful, attentive and did not hesitate to replace the dish I had ordered. We kind of had a running bet that my dish would be the best I had ever had. To me, it wasn't. To others it may have been but not my flavor. He gladly replaced it, no questions asked. My only suggestion is to do something special for those diners celebrating birthdays. Everyone likes to feel special at least once a year.

Everything was pretty spectacular. The only complaint I had was that I ordered a steak from a local farm that they had on the menu and it was so tough that my steak knife would not cut through it! The server said it was the fourth complaint of the day on that local beef and suggested I get a different one, which I did and it was delicious! While I can't blame them for the quality of the beef, they should have take it off the menu if they knew they were having quality issues.
Location and ambiance good but food not fantastic.
While we appreciate getting a large group in and a quiet restaurant for good conversation, this fits that bill because it was really empty on a Friday night. Also, sad that the food doesn't live up to the great location and nice ambiance. Many meals were decent but one had to be returned that stone my husband encountered in the soup was pretty shocking. They addressed it and did remove from the bill but didn't go overboard to apologize. When that happens, the manager should come out instead of making the waiter come back to report.
Loved the beer battered cheese curds!!! What a find!
Very good food but too small portion (pot roast). I mean how much can mashed potatoes cost and you get a small lump. I could count the vegetables, honest! Wine price is same as everywhere, ridiculous :)
Not what you'd expect from a "farm-to-table" restaurant. Lackluster waitress and same goes for the good. We ordered the specials: Pork kabob was dry. Curry beef over dry rice? Not so much. If you want great food in Galena go to Otto's.
Nice place terrible food
Everything about the restaurant accept for the food was fine. We had 6 people and no one liked their food and it was expensive.
They were very accommodating with getting us a table near a TV to see the football game. The appetizers were fantastic! The meals were served hot and had a nice presentation! Our waitress was very good, friendly and efficient. The price was to be expected for the level of service and food! Thank you!
The most memorable part of my stay was how welcoming you are made to feel by the Manager, Josh. He welcomed us, got us seated and after we were leaving walked us back downstairs. The food was perfect. I had the Gnocchi, very nice! The wood floors and open faced brick makes it that more appealing
Everything here was delicious and local. Highly recommended.
111 Main, it was ok
My wife and I went for a Sunday dinner. I can't say that we were blown away but I can't say that it was a bad choice either. We had reservations and were immediately seated at our table after witnessing a group of 3 walk in customers being told that it was at least a 45 minute wait. After a few minutes wait, we had water and menus. Our wait staff experience wasn't bad, but it was also far from memorable. We had to ask about the specials. Our drinks took a few minutes to get, but they were OK, again, not memorable. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and my jambalaya was decently prepared and seasoned. We were asked about our food, promptly after a few bites and then were left alone for our meal. We were never asked about drink refills. It was a pretty low key experience overall. Nothing bad, but not really one to inspire us to return either.

One of the most fantastic meals I have had in a long time. Everything was wonderfully prepared and extremely fresh. We both started with salads and homemade dressings which tasted amazing. I had the pork loin and was so happy with my choice. It was tender, juicy and everything on the plate went so well together. My boyfriend had the salmon which was also quite tasty! The sweet potato mash is a must have if you like sweet potatoes. Our server was also friendly, helpful and gave us great advice and recommendations for entrees but also Galena. This is a must go place in Galena!!
Delicious food and great environment
The food was absolutely delicious!! I also very much enjoyed the cherry limeade with vodka, off the drink menu. The restaurant itself is huge and has really cool black and white photographs all over the walls as well as beautiful woodwork details. Loved the atmosphere.
Best restaurant in Galena
Food and service are top not and all for a surprisingly reasonable price.
Great food and GF menu. Felt normal to order GF off a special list. Able to have choices, not only one GF food. The flourless cake was very good. Thanks for a great evening.
Took a chance from material on line.
Checked out restaurants in Galena. The menu sounded great. Everything was just as it was advertised on line. Great experience.
Yet another fine meal
I returned again to One Eleven and was once again pleased with our dinner. We had a glass of wine at our hotel so skipped drinks which are always excellent here. I recommend the mojito. I ordered the gnocchi and my friend the salmon. Both were new to us and we enjoyed our meals. We were celebrating birthdays so had desert too. The flourless chocolate cake was excellent. Will return again the next time we are in Galena.
Tasty unique food combinations.
Great wine list. Great setting. Our 8 year-old loved her meal - and our waiter was more than kind and knowledgeable about the menu.
The night started out bad when the witer took 10 minutes to come to the table. When I ordered off the gluten free menu, I asked the waiter about the shrimp and if it was a good amount of food seeing as we had walked the town all day. My meal came with 6 small shrimp, 1 small stalk of broccoli , and and small amount of potatoes. No salad came with the meal. Before the food came, I asked if we could get the bread that came with the meal and was informed that we could not . It came with the meal. Needless to say, when it came we received 1/4 of a small loaf of bread when cut resulted in a normal size piece and a dry crusty end. After the meal was served, the waiter never came back to refill drinks or ask about the meal. My daughter had asked when she ordered for a side of ranch, which never came and by the time I found the waiter she was finished with her meal. All this for an extremely high price tag. I have no problem paying more for a nice meal, but this was not a nice, adult meal. It was the size of a child's portion.Overall, we both walked out hungry and upset over the terrible meal and ended up at Mc Donalds. What a shame for such a supposedly nice place. We will NEVER go back!
Really loved how there were several types and flavors of mashed potatoes! Chose the steak featured special, which also included a special horseradish mashed potatoes. We also shared a hearty side of mashed sweet potatoes that were perfectly seasoned. No need for gravies here! YUM!!
We booked a table via Opentable a few hours prior to dining and since it was mid week tables were available. Truly a pleasure. Our server Will was courteous and helpful to a fault. We asked to try a sample of one of the wines and were quickly accommodated. Upon ordering a bottle we each ordered dinner as we had looked prior at the menu. The Blackened Catfish was a gem. I know, it's only catfish but when prepared as it was, a large filet along with shrimp, Andouille sausage and perfectly cooked rice it is a meal for all but the pickiest of diners. Among the best I've had in a while. We also tried the Chicken Saltimbucca, prosciutto-wrapped breast which included grits and veggies and wonderful as well. We thoroughly enjoyed this establishment and would love to have chance again. P.S. The bread served before and during dinner was to die for.
