Murray Circle Ratings and Reviews
My only issue was the size of the tables outside for dining. Four of us shared a 24" table for brunch. Very crowded.
fix the coffee and desert. Learn from Seasons 52
I thought that this was one of the best SF dining experiences I have had in a long time. the location, ambience, the service the main course cooked and served to perfection. I would recommend to family and loved ones for sure. see minor suggestion above that can remedied quickly.
Nice lunch, comfy dining rooms
Took some friends for a Friday lunch, so it wasn't busy. My spouse had a turkey/cheese sandwich--he said it was tasty. I ordered the Mussels, and was disappointed. The white wine had not been cooked enough to evaporate the alcohol, so the balance of favors was off. I ate it anyway, and didn't say anything as I didn't want to make a scene with guests there. Gave one to my guest to taste--she exclaimed that it was "awful"! My green salad was fine tho. Our guests had burgers--seemed to be satisfied. I would give it another try, mainly cuz the rooms have such a homelike ambience. but don't think I'd chance dinner...

My favorite get away
Just for a day or few days "The view" Hike, eat, history, just get away from the city life but not far, to enjoy nature💗
The food was amazing
We stayed at the lodge and dined at Murray Circle for my husbands birthday. The food is seasonal, and beautifully prepared. We brought our own bottle of wine but their wine list features many wonderful wines. The dinning room is spacious which creates a more tranquil environment. We also had lunch there the next day and were very pleased again.

The tasting menu was delicious only wish the duck yolk course was a palette cleanser like a salad with citrus as the meal was heavy and it needed the break
Lesser service for Open Table reservations?
I bring everyone to Murray Circle - it's one of my favorite places. Imagine my surprise when denied the opportunity to eat dinner at an outdoor couch table - even though I made the request on my Open Table reservation, during my phone confirmation and in person when I arrived for cocktails over 1 hour before my reserved time. I was told that "another party" also requested the couch seating, and we - my best friend and I celebrating our 50th anniversary - were shuffled off to a far corner table. The requested table sat empty through most of our meal, with the "other party" arriving when we were finishing dessert.
a very pleasant surprise
We had been out hiking all day and arrived tired and later than expected. In a counterintuitive decision, we chose the tasting menu and pairings to avoid having to make a specific decision. It turned out to be a great idea. The food was innovative and well prepared. Each course was a delightful surprise. The pairings introduced us to new wines and we're now on the hunt to find some of them locally. Finally, the service was professional and pleasant.
A ver nice evening
Delicious food. Great ambiance. Fun location. Would love to check out the Sunday Brunch.
Murray Circle for my husband's birthday
My husband and I went to dinner at Murray Circle for his birthday celebration. It would have been perfect if our waiter had somewhat of a personality. For the price of our dinner, I expected more.

Don't know why this place has high ratings. The food is very mediocre, nothing to write about. I ordered 4 items, everything was non interesting, greasy, and no flavor. Felt like eating in a decent airport restaurant. Service is normal, not great, however not negative. The bar scene is interesting, will try that next but will avoid the restaurant, I rather go somewhere else.
I was at Murray's about 4 years ago and the décor was very warm and up to date. My experience this last Sunday was of a room that is very old, worn out colors and no decorations/flowers to make the room livelier. Farley's Bar seemed to be more colorful. As far as the food, nothing very exciting. Considering the time/effort/knowledge it takes to get to Cavallo Point I would hope that a "brunch" menu would be special. The menu offered whatever any other restaurant around the corner would offer. Except for the chips & onion dip!

The quiche had great flavors, but seemed to have been reheated, not served fresh. The outer layer was hard and chewy because of this. I loved the truffle fries, and both the chocolate and rhubarb desserts. The chicken salad sandwich was ho-hum. I expected better bread being so close to SF. It was a lovely atmosphere and the staff did a fine job.
We had a birthday lunch at Murray Circle. It was an awesome experience. Lovely ambiance, very good food, excellent service. I loved that five of the staff came out with all five of our meals, set them down, and we all had our plates at the same time. I've never seen that at a restaurant before. We'll definitely go back!
We expected good food, we got very good food.
The charcuterie was described in mild terms. The boar and the chicken liver were great. The pea soup was surprising, because I think peas are totally under-rated, and this met the standard. The asparagus was incredible. The halibut was over-cooked. The gnocchi was crusty, but the accompanying broth and weeds were incredible. I needed to let them soak. The dish needed instructions. The blackberry pana cotta was the best desert I have ever had.... And still, I remember the meal for the entrees. Really excellent food.

Disorganized and inattentive service and so-so menu. It is a lovely setting but the restaurant is not good.
Great food, great view!
Been going for years. Love the food and scenery especially on the deck (can see bay and GG Bridge). Everything is good but I especially love their salmon omelette and burger!

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and everything about the evening was perfect. Our table, our server, the food...everything. What a perfect place to celebrate!
We ate mostly off the bar menu, but my wife had the fish and said it was excellent. After all the beginning samples I was not that hungry so just a burger. Our guests had the steak which was good. They sat us by the fire, after asking, also the service could not have been better
service, food and music were just perfect. View is incredible. Really good wine list.
A Saturday Family Brunch
Beautiful setting, fine food and drink, excellent service. Very welcoming staff. Mussels were exceptional. Needed more bread to sop up the broth. Bloody Mary's could have used more alcohol. Desserts on the small side. Valet attendants efficient and service is free for diners. Setting is magnificent. We walked to the breakwater after our meal. A memorable day

Service great and beautiful location but food not impressed.
Wonderful meal; Poor Service
Bar service and food were equally great. Restaurant service was awful. Left appetizer plates on the table, after main meal was served. He was not knowledgeable about drinks or dishes. Desperately needs further training.
Service is slow and lacking
This is the second time I've had brunch and the service was really lacking. I expect more for an expensive restaurant.
Very nice Experience
This place is like going back in time to the early 1800s. Wonderful atmosphere, good food and excellent service.
Hidden Historic Gem
Tucked under the northeast corner of the Golden Gate Bridge on the grounds of the former Fort Baker, and with a magnificent view, the Murray Circle Restaurant at Cavalla Point is top notch. Great for any special occasion -- for 2 or 200. Go!!!
The setting alone makes this place special. But the operators have also made this a top notch food establishment providing unique, sophisticated, memorable quality dishes.
The service was great and the food excellent. Still, I think it's over priced. I try to understand the market. $90 each fixed price seems high to me but I knew ahead of time and was prepared for it. I'm retired and over 60. Still, how do all these younger people afford $350+ for two. This was Valentines Day and I had called them on the Tuesday before and was told they were fully booked. I then went to OpenTable just on a chance and had no trouble making a reservation. When we got there we were seated ahead of time, there were plenty of empty tables and they were seating people who had obviously shown up without a reservation. I'll bet they were surprised when they got their check. Lastly, it would be nice to see a hostess who looks you in the eye and is gracious and respectful in a place this expensive rather make you feel you are an imposition. Our hostess just waved us into the dining room and wasn't concerned in pointing out our table. Guess I'm old fashioned.

I've been t MC before; soup and salad for ❤ day not up to par. Main courses good, but not served hot. Overall I would say this sort of prep is over their head. Too bad, love it there.
Terrific, as always!
We always enjoy dining here - brunch, lunch or dinner. This time was no exception. As always, the ambiance and food were terrific. What we didn't expect was that on a busy holiday - we were told there was an extensive waiting list - that the service would be as gracious as ever. Yet it was. Just great.
Always a great spot
We have dined here for lunch several times over the last few years (from when none of had kids to where we all do now) And every time it is wonderful. 20 degrees warmer than SF and a great view. We always wait for seating on the porch, totally worth it.
Old hotel charm
The dining room was very nice, with an old hotel feeling. The menu had a large assortment of current dishes. The food was excellent, with good presentation. The waiters were friendly and efficient
A Bay Area Gem
Enjoyed a business lunch here and really enjoyed it. Atmosphere and service are top notch, and food is flavorful and imaginative.
We had 3 consecutive meals at Murray Circle while staying at Cavallo Point Lodge, not for lack of options but because everyone in our group, ranging from 4-78 years old loved the food and atmosphere so much. Good wine list, really good kids menu and something for everyone, vegetarian and meat lover alike, on the regular menu. Ingredients were unique (grilled maitake mushroom, Prather Ranch pork chops - wonderfully tender), preparations were delicious, portions were perfect and service was good considering they were somewhat leanly staffed. We will be back.

Have never been disappointed with a meal here, lunch or dinner. Menus provide interesting choices. Our waiter, Guillermo, was helpful and informative.
This is the second time we've dined at Murray Circle and it is now our favorite overall restaurant in terms of food, ambiance, and service. Since we don't live that close, we combine a meal there with an overnight stay at Cavallo Point, making it a very special occasion.
Enjoyed a quiet dinner at scenic Cavallo Point. Salads were the stars. Entrees a bit overpriced.
The restaurant/bar is set in an old 19th century fort tucked under the Golden Gate bridge. The menu is innovative and I wished that it lived up to its potential more. I thought the seasonings were a bit odd and would have liked a more traditional Ceasar dressing on the salad and a more traditional lentil soup rather than the hodge podge that I felt we received. Service was ultimately spotty (we were warmly greeted and then somewhat abandoned). Gorgeous view and I think in summer/spring it would be totally full for weeks on ened.
