Best restaurant in St. Louis
The ambiance, the food, the service was outstanding!

"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. . Everyone loved the food. Service was well-timed and friendly, and affordable.
Morton's St Louis, another hit
As I try to visit every Morton's nationwide, my latest foray was St Louis. Gorgeous restaurant, great food and impeccable service. Many thanks to the GM Paul and my server Joe for a superb dining experience. Morton's treats me like a person not just a customer. Everyone addresses me by name and makes my visit warm and welcoming. Once again I had the steak and seafood combo. The steak was perfect, cooked exactly medium rare and melt in your mouth. The Caesar salad was delicious as was the Brussels sprout side dish. The white chocolate bread pudding was delicious. Trust me, get a Landry's select card, it is well worth the money and you will always be treated like royalty!
Poor Quality at 5 Star Prices
My husband and I have enjoyed amazing dining experiences all over the world at all price points. Morton ' s in Clayton, MO is a complete fail. We started with lobster bisque that had some nice chunks of lobster in a very thin base. The Morton ' s signature salad was romaine lettuce that was droopy, room temp with unidentifiable crumbles and tasteless Bleu cheese dressing. The bone in filet resembled a roast in texture and dull in flavor. The lamb chops were unappealing visually and lacked any real flavor. The creamed spinach had some kind of cheese, maybe, that gave it an odd taste and au gratin potatoes were in chunks instead of slices and though not that good, was the best thing we tasted. The chocolate souffle was a foamy mound of yuck, no chocolate taste whatsoever. The service was off, never served bread until we asked and then was given a loaf to take home. Just a total disappointment for $270 before tip.
Great Food, Great Service!
What an amazing evening after my horrible experience at Lucas Park Grille the night before. Morton's was everything one expects from a top-notch restaurant. Joe, our server, was personable, welcoming and informative. He flawlessly listed the evening specials for us and was very helpful in guiding us to our ultimate selections. My martini was perfect, a rarity now days for some reason, and my date raved about her margarita which is a high compliment from a Texas girl. The sommelier actually decanted the wine we chose, again rarely offered these days. My bone-in ribeye was grilled to perfection, juicy and flavorful, my date's lamb chops were perfect as well. The bread pudding and the soufflé were awesome. We wanted for nothing during our meal. Wine was poured, waters topped off with regularity. Service, service, service. We will be back SOON!
Good food but pricey!
We celebrated Valentine's Day at Mortons in Clayton. The setting is nice and feels expensive, and the food was good as expected. But, the prices seem to have risen since last time we were there. As mentioned earlier, the food is good as expected, but it makes for an expensive outing.
A Disappointing Valentine's Day
This visit was my first to Morton's in St. Louis. The service was extremely disappointing. After seating, no one visited the table for a while. I watched as others who followed were served bread and cocktails. Finally, a lady came over and took our drink order. My cocktail took some time as she joked the bar was short on lemons. My lemon martini was half full. I don't think anyone desires a half cocktail. The server was not friendly, did not explain the menu, seemed bothered by our questions, and was inattentive. I watched as other friendly servers smiled and explained the menu. At one point, I had to go ask for someone to bring me water during my meal. The lobster my husband received was similar in size to a jumbo shrimp. He was not happy. His steak was very small and not cooked to order. My steak was overcooked. The best part of my meal was the dessert. The molten cake and ice cream was delicious. Unfortunately, my coffee served at the end of the meal was absent silverware. Was I supposed to use my dessert spoon to stir my coffee? The finality involved the Valet. There was some confusion and apparently no system. While many customers waited (unwelcome) in the bar to avoid the cold, others would just walk out and were assisted by the valet. I thought about returning to give the place one more try and hope for a better experience. Now, I do not think I will. I will go to the Tenderloin Room or Ruth Chris, where my previous visits were far better than this one.
The food was great. The problems started at the beginning when we were seated 40 minutes after our reservation time. The table that was given was by the kitchen window. I had to sit sideways in order to sit my chair flat on the floor. We were mere inches from the table next to us which disturbed our conversation because we were talking over the couple next to us. We did go on Valentine's weekend so I understand they were busy but for $200 I would expect much much more. This was our first and last time at Mortons.
Long waits, slow service
It was Valentine's Saturday, but we had made a reservation weeks earlier and were still made to wait. However, the food was great as always.
Started off with reservations for 745 pm. We finally got seated at about 810. Nothing like making a reservation then having a 25 minute wait. The food is over priced, and not that great. I would definitely not spend the money to eat here again. Steak was nothing special and was kind of tough!
Great food but a bit overpriced
Morton's has a reputation for great steaks and they lived up to that. The food is great quality, but the price seems a bit high for what you get. There are other places in the city to get steaks just as good for quite a bit less. The atmosphere is great and it is a romantic spot with a nice ambiance. The noise level is enough so that you don't feel like you have to be quiet but not so loud that it is obnoxious. The service was good, but a few things were forgotten about or overlooked. All in all it was a nice evening, but we likely won't go back unless someone else is footing the bill.
Superior service and great steaks.
Our first time at a Mortons. We celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday. Special menus with names, group photographs, and every staffer giving best birthday wishes was a nice touch. Service was superior; while not hovered over we were well cared for by a team of servers. Foodwise, our steaks and seafood were spot on. Our fillets were very good and my wife thought her ribeye was the best she has had in years. The lobster and scallops were superbly cooked. The sides however were average. The truffle fries were tasty but our asparagus was too tough and the creamed spinach was a bit bitter. The deserts were great. We definitely will return when visiting St. Louis.
Morton's Steakhouse for Valentine's Day
My wife and I went to Morton's for a Valentine's dinner on Saturday, 2/13. The place was crowded and quite noisy, which was a bit disturbing. However, the food was outstanding, the service was top notch, and the value was fairly good for being a high end steakhouse. We sat near the kitchen, which is not preferable to many people, but we enjoyed watching the cooks prepare the food, similar to watching a food show give behind-the-scenes access to what the chefs do. It was quite entertaining to see the precision involved with plating. The food was well prepared and had great flavor. Obviously, the price can drive people away, but for special occasions, this is certainly a nice choice!

The food was very good and very plentiful, the service was exceptional, not over-bearing. The selections were wonderful.

Great service, our waiter was well versed in the menue, food was very good, I had sea bass that was so good, wife had the short rib, and it too was awesome , great place we will be back.
Had a very nice evening and we were given a birthday desert. Great time. Thanks.
Morton's Lives up to its Reputation
My daughter and I enjoyed a special dinner at the Morton's in Clayton, MO. The restaurant was not at all crowded, so we may have had a little special attention. Our server, Javier, was exceptional, providing appropriate attention without "hovering", making helpful suggestions and anticipating our needs. The generous servings of food were amazing, as always, especially the peppered strip sirloin. Enjoyable all around. Highly recommend for special occasions (but be prepared for the "sticker shock" on pricing).
Perfect for a romantic night out
Morton's went above and beyond anything I could have expected. It was our first visit, and we will return for special occasions. The price is definitely high (more than I've ever spent on a meal before), but for a once a year special occasion, we were fine with it. The food was AMAZING. My husband was head over heels for the Lobster Bisque. We both ordered steaks, and they were cooked to perfection. We topped off the night with a dessert of Creme Brulee...best part of the night! Their cocktails and wine list were also large and inclusive. But more than anything I've already mentioned, the SERVICE was the best I've ever experienced. Friendly, open, polite and always around if you need them. We had three people keeping an eye on our table at any given time for empty glasses or plates. Overall, I was thrilled with the experience and will return. It's a wonderful treat to give yourself once in a great while.
Perfect place for a special dinner
Waitress was well informed about the selections, stopped by our table frequently to make sure everything was perfect, offered to box any leftovers. She had a good sense of humor and was entirely competent .
We ate at Morton's in Clayton on New Year's Eve. We had wonderful food and great service. So glad we chose Morton's!

The filet was tender, but lack any real flavor that warranted the high price. The scallops were nice with s great sauce. The shrimp smelled terrible and tasted worse. The service was slow and didn't seem to care what we needed or wanted. Wouldn't go back especially at the price point.
We absolutely love Morton's. They Cajun rib eye is amazing. Service is top notch.
Needs an update!
I LOVE this restaurant. The staff is amazing, the food is unbeatable but the atmosphere seems like a time-machine throwback!! I like being able to see into the kitchen, and the entire place is adequately appointed. But for the money I spend on the food, I expect a hipper, more contemporary place to eat. It looks like it was done in the John Denver 70's and they decided that was it. PLEASE hire a good decorator and fix this place up! Then it would be 5 STARS all the way!
The setting was really nice and the food was pretty good. There is no way the food is valued anywhere near the cost, so you are mainly paying for the romantic atmosphere. I suppose if you have nothing better to do with your money, then this is the place to waste it. Additionally, I felt that the server was a little condescending in her opening speech about the specials. She sounded too rehearsed and was not at all personable, more like a robot with a fake smile.
Sunday night in Clayton
Morton's is one of the few restaraunts open in Clayton on Sunday night. We got there at 9:30 pm, the staff and food were great. The bone in filet was fantastic.

As always excellent!
The service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive. Timing of the meal was perfect. Food was amazing! We will definitely be back.
we love our Morton's dates
It doesn't happen that often, but when we get the opportunity we love it. Morton's sent me an email for a fabulous offer that coincided with our anniversary. From start to finish it made our night. Our menus had our name on it, and the food was to die for. The hostess took our picture for our anniversary dinner and printed us a great 5x7. The also emailed it as well. Thanks for making our day special. We'll most certainly be back.
The best service, steak and atmosphere I've ever experienced and I've dined at a number of great restaurants. Customized menus for my new brides birthday, customized salad for our dietary needs, friendly service and great " room readers". Privacy was respected and necessary interruptions very well timed.
This was my first time at Morton's and I was not disappointed! I had the onion soup, filet, brussel sprouts, and sour cream mashed potatoes. Everything I had was delicious, even the bottle of red wine selected and I am not a huge red wine fan! I will definitely be visiting Morton's again!
Couldn't Get My Steak Right
I prefer a steak that is pink all the way through but not red in the center. I've ordered medium and medium-rare and had it come back this way so at Morton's I asked the waitress what the best way to order it and she recommended medium rare plus. The steak came back under cooked TWICE and both times the waitress was the one who said so and admitted she should have ordered it as medium and it would have been to my preference. In the end the steak was excellent but it took 30 minutes longer than the other guest to get my food and because I was relying on her expertise to order and was disappointed I was not particularly generous with my tip. When she collected the bill and saw what I had left (10% on a $250 bill) she never returned.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and enjoyed every moment. The service was exceptional from the second the valet took the keys until the waiter boxed our food. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is extraordinary! I can't wait to go back.
Amazing dinner for fancy date night, dinner was great, the lobster bisque was amazing!
Great Night, Good Food
Love this restaurant! The food comes out piping hot, service is really good and the desserts are amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. They have wonderful pre fix menus.
Service was very good. 3 of 4 steaks were very good. One was supposed to be very rare and they did not seem to know how to make a steak that was still very cool in the middle. Salad croutons seemed stale and not crunchy. Over all it was a good meal.
Excellent food and service.
We were there on a Wednesday night. Service was outstanding. My husband had the French Onion soup and a fillet and chocolate cake with melted center w/ice cream for dessert. I had a Salmon with crabmeat on top and shrimp. The entrees and dessert were outstanding. Husband thought the onion soup was so-so. The wait staff and maitre d were great. It was husband's birthday and they made a big deal about it. The atmosphere is quiet/refined and fit what we were looking for that evening.
Great dinner, great service! Staff welcoming and so wonderful helping to make your special occasion truly memorable. Thanks Morton's for making my birthday dinner grand.

As always, we had a great experience. Lobster and steak were delicious and staff were great.
The quality of the food is superb. The steak is butter like and all the sides are excellent but they are quite expensive at 13$. The sides are large but for onion rings to be 13$ is a little pricy but they are excellent. All the deserts are fantastic and worth trying. Unfortunately the night we went there was a large group in the back and a couple of big tables that were quite loud. In addition the valet was extremly busy and with only 1 guy it was confusing as to where to get the valet.
