Mehndi takes traditional North Indian cuisine to a whole new level. The bi-level dining space has a distinctively clean fell to it. Adorned with twenty-three Fourtuny chandeliers, the restaurant’s jewel tones glow as diners enjoy their artfully presented meals. On weekends, Indian henna artists sit on the marble staircase and apply henna to guests as they wait for their traditional Punjabi and Mughlai fare. We offer a corporate buffet lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm Tuesday through Friday, and a lavish weekend lunch buffet from 12 Noon to 3:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mehndi Ratings and Reviews
Great food friendly service
Great place for dining out with family, staff was was very helpful and friendly, i will definitely go to this place again and again with my family and friends.
The best Indian food in Morristown!
The ambiance, service and food were all great. Exceptional service, as usual. We will continue going back. Price is a bit on the higher side, but well worth it. Has a great wine and drinks list too

My friend goes here often and brought me. It was very good. The place was deserted on a Thursday night. My friend said it is packed on the weekends. Prices are what you expect in Morristown. Even though we checked in and said we had a reservation, they didn't mark it so I had to go through open table for the credit.
great food wonderful setting
This place hits on all cylinders: great food at a fair price, lovely ambiance lending itself to romantic affairs plus attentive service without being intrusive. Will be sure to return.
Great spot for date night. Valentine's Day weekend dinner was perfect.
Best Indian Food!
It is sometimes difficult to find good Indian cuisine with a nice atmosphere. Mehndi was excellent from beginning to end. Staff was pleasant and courteous and the food was the best I have ever had.
Consistently great food!
I've been eating here since they opened. The food is always very well prepared. We've never had a dish we haven't liked including their goat dishes. They have some unusual combinations ( for an Indian restaurant) like chicken with figs. They have many "Signature" cocktails . This time I had the Pear and Cardamon martini and asked them to not make it too sweet. I had a second!
Fantastic. Cant wait to return

We had a girls night out at Mendhi Friday night. The service was wonderful. The waiter helped us with selections. We all had drink specials and they were unique and tasty. The food was wonderful. We especially loved the Nann and the Tiki Masala. This is my favorite Indian Food Restaurant in the area!
Saturday Night at Mehndi
Reliably good Indian cuisine in a well appointed setting. Reasonable value for money. Good service and menu selection. Food is well prepared - spice level is milder than expected so if you like it spicy then bear in mind 'medium' is really 'mild'. Convenient parking under Hyatt hotel keeps you out of the weather. Only downside is the chaotic check-in scene upon arrival due to sharing the welcome desk with Ming 2.
Food is good but this time chicken was a bit tough
My husband and I both ordered a chicken in a creamy sauce. My chicken (appeared to be breast meat) was very tough. His was a little better. Would expect a chicken dish like this to be very tender. It wasn't
Great food, nice drinks, very friendly staff. I highly recommend it for you Indian Food lovers.
One of the highly recommended Indian Restaurant in nnj
Our family visited Mendhi for the first time and we will definitely be back. The service is very good and the food was wonderful. Our appetizer of crispy potatoe with yogurt sauce was really delicious as was the tikka masala and baby lamb. The prices are a bit high, which brought our rating down. We would definitely go back.
A bit pricey but food is exceptionally good.
The food was great, the waiters were very knowledgeable and guided us in our selection. The hostess was not so great - kind of directed us to an area that we did not prefer, she explained all other spots were reserved... Dont know how that could be the case as we too had reservations.... I would certainly recommend this restaurant a gem for Indian food in Morris County...
Great food and service

The food at Mendhi is terrific. I don't have Indian very often but this is the place I love to go to for it.

Best Indian Restaurant in NJ that we've been able to find. Full of Indian people, which is a good sign. Full liquor license, Generous drinks, fabulous food.
Best Indian in Morris County
You eat like an Indian prince or princess here. Our routine here is to order an assortment of appetizers, raita, rice, garlic naan and the specialty bread basket for the table to share with each diner ordering their own entrée. We have been here a few times and I have never heard any of our party make a negative comment. They have a great cocktail menu which they make in the adjacent club which services both Mehndi and their sister restaurant Ming II. We ordered samosas, lamb sheesh kabob, mango jinga and the squid appetizer and they were all sumptuous. Our entrees were no less impressive. My favorite is the lobster labbabdar which they gave me the option of ordering spicy and it turned out really good. A special experience. If you love Indian, don't pass it up. Incidentally, they will validate your Headquarters Plaza parking ticket. And the service is courteous, friendly, informational and attentive. You can't beat it.
Great Indian food with a great ambiance.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was some of this most balanced, fresh Indian cuisine in the area - and we have tried a lot of Indian restaurants in the area. Service was great and price was very reasonable for the quality of them meals. Definitely will return.
Very good, confusing to find
It was delicious and the cocktail menu was especially good and extensive. My boyfriend and I could not find the entrance to the restaurant though and walked around confused before having to ask two people from the building for directions. There are no signs anywhere. Apart from that it was a great experience.
Bad Service, Frozen food
We got seated 15 minutes after we came, although we had reservation, and although there were empty tables when we were seated. We got half frozen Samosas, and the waiter mixed my credit card with other table's so we almost paid x3 times more than what we should have paid. We also didn't like the loud music they played there. Main dishes were nice, but we will not come back.
We had a fantastic meal. Terrific ambiance, food was spectacular, and service perfect. Highly recommend it for a great, upscale and delicious meal.
Great meal. Enjoyed all the food and the atmosphere was quite nice. Would clearly go back!
Best Indian restaurant in the area
Chicken Biryani, Vegetable Korma, Chicken Tikka all excellent. Very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.
Nice lunch buffet
Loved the lamb and their cocktails are fantastic. You have to be proactive to get the attention of the servers though.
We love Mehndi. The food is always delicious.
We have a love affair with Mehndi. Even with Ming next door we gravitate to Mehndi every time. The food is so yummy and authentic. At least I think so. :) The waiters are knowledgeable and willing to help the novice Indian food eater to the right choices. I prefer the lamb and beef dishes over the chicken. The chicken tends to be a little dry. The naan is great. I also enjoy the variety of cocktails they offer. All are well balanced and it seems that the mixologist actually put thought into the drink menu. Great for large or small groups.
Food was great but the place upstairs was very dimly lit and we found the setup uncomfortable. Even after going through reservation via open table they placed us in non regular area.
Literally, hidden. It was so hard to find the restaurant, it is buried in the depths of the hotel convention center in Morristown and has no externally facing windows. Once we found it though, it was worth the pilgrimage! The interior, while dark, is gentle and inviting, just this side of elegant. Like other reviewers, we found the food beautifully prepared and served, and of much higher caliber than even some of the lauded, and more expensive, Indian fare we have in Montclair. The Aloo Gabi was seriously excellent, gently roasted, not swimming in sauce and with the added complexity of cashews. The breads were flavorful and varied. My shrimp in a mango sauce was delicious, and our fellow diners' tilapia dishes were very well liked. The server was knowledgeable, low key and attentive. If only it were closer to my home....but I'd go again when next in the area.

we had a lovely evening at this local gem... from our cocktails to appetizers, main course and dessert... we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was perfect (mine not spicy - my sweetie requested spicy and got it). We totally recommend this spot. We were in town staying at the hotel next door to the restaurant.

My server "13 Sujib S Thank you for a great evening. Indian is my favorite food. Our server made my celebration of my daughters bDay the BEST, thank you The evening was truly wonderful.
Delicious Indian Food
The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. Service was great as well. It was definitely the best Indian food I have had in New Jersey so far. I was so stuffed but couldn't stop eating. The place was a little difficult to find as it was inside a plaza. Just figure out exactly where you are going before you get there. I was 15 mins late trying to find it. They will validate your parking ticket for one of the lots. Call in advance to find out which one.
Mendi has the most well prepared Indian ...
Mendi has the most well prepared Indian food. Several rungs above the average. We ordered primarily vegetarian and veggies were perfectly prepared with a variety of interesting flavors. Also are here on New Years with 6 people and loved everything including the goat dish and unusual chicken with figs ( paired well with the Pinot Noir!). You can't go wrong with any dish here.
We visited Mehndi after some time, and agreed that this is still the best Indian food that we have had in New Jersey. All ingredients are fresh and sauces have a depth that delights. Service is attentive, and the manager and staff seem appreciative of our visit. Occasionally we splurge and have the lobster curry, which is worth the splurge. The restaurant is always clean and has a quiet, elegant atmosphere. We will be sure to visit again soon for the superior experience!
Very nicely decorated, good atmosphere. Food was very good and service was fine. Would recommend
Great for Veggies
Food is consistentlt good. Waiters foro the most part know their stuff. They pushed rice on nus this time, which we didnt need, didnt like and didnt eat, but otherwise food is always good.

We dined here on a Friday night. It was our first visit, and so we went in with a few expectations. However, the staff, food and overall experience were terrific. We began with excellent (and generously sized) martinis from the bar. We had mixed vegetable pakora us and lamb sheesh kebab for appetizers, both of which were very good. For our entrée, we shared lamb vindaloo with a side of yellow lentils, basmati rice and an onion kulcha bread. The lamb was quite tender and the vindaloo sauce was wonderfully spicy. Staff were quite attentive but without rushing us through the meal. The only off note for us was the masala papadum, which seemed slightly undercooked and a bit sticky. But absent that, a very nice experience, we will definitely return.
