Seems like the food has gone from really good to average. Drink prices are too high. Music was a little loud for dinner. Although, the bar area looked fun.
Appetizer and drinks delivered to table quickly but waited another 45 minutes for the main entrées even though we were the only 4 people in the restaurant. A bit pricey for lunch. The chef did accommodate my sons selective appetite by making a grill cheese which was nice although it did cost $13.99 with fries.

Great atmosphere! Amazing food as always!
We love this restaurant but this time the food was mediocre at best. We are hoping this was an anomaly.
McCormick & Schmidt Review
This was a MAJOR disappointment ! As regular Flemng's goers on the Greene around the corner we wanted to try something digerent on the same level as Fleming's or Eddie Merlots. With all of the pricing in the same line up McCormick & Schmidt FAILED miserably. I have never regreted spending so much money on a dinner bill in my life. We were visiting my son at UD and had 5 people with us. our whopping $300 dinner bill came with lousy service which a 'kid' who had no idea about fine dining or service. The place was sparse when we arrived on Saturday night primet time of 7:30pm and for GOOD REASON we found out afterward. our food was served to us after 1 hour of waiting and COLD steak, overcooked and under serviced. NOT worth $100 let alone $300. What a disappointing excuse for fine dining. Especially steak .
A great dinner on a cold Spring Night in Ohio
Snowy night in April, but warm and cheery inside. Service was just right and the food was excellent, especially the lobster bisque and upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. The staff was engaging but not overbearing. A very memorable evening for a not so great early spring night.
McCormick and Schmick's Afternoon Meal
The waiter was awesome and suggested several wonderful options for appetizers and meals. We had a wonderful afternoon dining and enjoying our time together.
Not as good as I expected
Steak was average. Date's scallops were very good. Server was too pushy early too much talking later. Twice hit up for the perks card. Applebee's experience for twice the price.
Always good, but could use a tweak here or there
We have always enjoyed M & S. Service has always been fantastic. Our visit this time was just fine except for being seated in an odd location. Seems like there were too many tables crammed into the dining room space we were in. We stood up and moved our chairs once so a party with a wheelchair could get through, and even that was a tight fit! We also shifted chairs around another time to accommodate some elderly patrons being assisted by a family member. That tells me that the room is packed too tight when 2 people can't navigate through a main thoroughfare side by side. Also, the larger serving platters of food were carried over our heads (the ones seated with our backs to the aisle), and it was a very uncomfortable feeling. We'll go back for the food and service, but we will be picky about where we are seated.
Keep in mind that our waiter was in training. Our appetizers order was never put in so they arrived after our meal. We were celebrating a birthday and they said my dad would get a dessert but never brought it. The jumbo shrimp was never deveined, yuck! Very expensive dinner with poor service.
Wonderful Dining Experience
From the moment we walked in the door until we were leaving, McCormick and Schmick's was outstanding! The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all delicious and beautifully presented. Our waitress was top notch. She checked in on us without being bothersome. She also brought me an extra fork without my asking. She replenished drinks in a timely manner, as well. The overall appearance of the restaurant was inviting and relaxing. Lots of natural light from large windows across the room. My family and I will definitely be visiting this McCormick and Schmick's again.
The place was empty but the service was slow.
It took 20 minutes to get a drink! They were more interested in talking to us than serving us.

Extremely slow service. Waited 15 minutes for the waiter and then had to ask for our water glasses to be filled. No explanation of the menu items or specials. Music was loud. The soup we ordered was brought to the wrong table. Had to ask for bread, had to ask to have our water glasses refilled. Very disappointed with our experience at McCormick's & Schmick's; we won't be going back.
We had a lovely evening at McCormick and Schmick's. The lobster was cooked perfectly - too often people cook it too long. The steak was fantastic and the french silk pie was to die for.
Great food, but small size meals. My husband didnt

We had excellent service and the restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately the food was subpar at best. I ordered the filet it was very disappointing especially at the price. My girlfriend ordered the salmon and it was marginal at best. The most disappointing item we had was the mash potatoes they were awful and left in the plate. I would never dine with them again.

Our waiter recommended the stuffed salmon dinner. This was definitely the best salmon dinner we have ever had. All in all we had an excellent dining experience.
Better than expected
I had heard that this was a great fish restaurant. While this may be their specialty, it is not the only thing they do right. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of all the choices we had in our group of 4 (all were very good) and the atmosphere was lively and fun. The staff were very attentive. I would definitely go back again and will.

Wonderful food! Sterling was an excellent waiter and the manager was super friendly and kind.
Ok, but not enough for a return visit
We chose this establishment for a small, quiet birthday celebration (2/21/16). Since we had planned to arrive around 5 on a Sunday at the Greene we opted to make a reservation; however, the restaurant was nearly empty. While the food in itself was good, it did not meet the price point. Although our server was polite, we waited exceptionally long for simply items like water and drink refills. Every item, be it salads, refills, entrees, mixed drinks, etc. took a long time to arrive. The restaurant was not busy so we could not imagine how long we would have been there had it been busy. I had opted for the seafood bouillabaisse. The broth was lovely, as was the shrimp, calamari, and fish. However, it is advertised as containing king crab. When the dish arrived there were 2 tiny, crab "toe nails" placed over the plate. These are garbage pieces and essentially inedible. The dish can stand on its own without the false claim of kind crab leg. We found it laughable, bordering on insulting that it was nothing more than a garnish, not an ingredient. For the price of $30 I was not expecting a significant portion of king crab, but was shocked that the toenail portion of a king crab leg has a market. The food was good...but for the price we could have gone to any competitor for the amount of money we spent and received a far greater experience, a hardier meal, had more efficient service, and would not have spent such a long time sitting and waiting. So much in fact it infringed on our later plans ultimately causing us to cancel. I had visited M & S once before for lunch and would have rated the food relative to the higher than average price as okay, yet the service was far more efficient and what I would have expected on our recent visit. For a special occasion we don't mind the higher than average cost, but it needs to be more comprehensive. Unfortunately, this evening determined that although it was not bad, we felt our patronage would be better appreciated elsewhere.

We stopped in for a drink and snack. We were completely forgotten about. I had to ask another waitress to get us a water refill.
worst service ever!!!
We had a small group of family and friends for my husbands birthday. We saw our waiter 3 times the whole entire night. When we ordered, when the food came out and where they messed up my bill 4 times. Any time we needed a refill someone had to go up to the door greeter to have them find someone. We asked 3 times someone came only once. The reservation was for 8 we didn't get bread until 8:45. The manager himself did not seem to care how upset we were. This was a horrible experience!
Bland Food, Over-priced Wine
This place just qualifies as OK. The food is not very good the wine is over-priced. The table service was spotty. What really galled me is that when I presented my loyalty card as part of paying the check; I had to wait a good 10 minute while the manager ran around and processed a bunch of loyalty cards ahead of mine.

The food was good, but the service was poor. The waiter came around only infrequently. I asked to have the onions removed from the salad. He eliminated the dressing, as it had onions, but served it without dressing, failing to ask what dressing I wanted to substitute. By time I figures it didn't have a dressing, I could find the waiter.
Very Good Dining Experience
My husband and I enjoyed our dining experience at McCormick and Schmick's. The ambiance was quiet and cozy. Our server was very attentive. Planning to return in the spring/summer to eat out on their patio. Overall recommend!
Alright food, good service
This would be our second time at McCormick and Schmicks. The first time we went, we very disappointed. The food was terrible and the service was also pretty bad. This time around we used gift cards and said why not? Let's try it agian. This time around was pretty good. I got the scallops and they were delicious! My husband got the tuna and it was beautifully plaTed and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was great and always checked up on us and filled our drinks. I can't say it's my favorite restaurant but it's pretty good and I would hope if I go again the experience will be the same and nothing like our first time.
Went for Valentine's dinner and even though they did not appear extremely busy we were seated at a table sticking out into the walkway in a plain back room that looked like a meeting room. Our mahi-mahi and salmon were very good and our service from Vickie was excellent, but I just felt stuck in the back room. For a $100 meal I expect more. I've been here twice now and was underwhelmed again; probably won't be back.
Good Service but
The service was good, our waitress did a great job. Our appetizer was the best part of the night, but my wife had the steak medallions and she has had much better at the lower end restaurants than what we were served. I tried it and was also disappointed. The almond crusted rainbow trout was good, but for the price I was not really that impressed. I did really like the lobster mash potatoes though, they were worth the value of the plate. Over all though I was not very happy with the quality for the cost.
Valentines Day Hot Spot
Very good service as expected. The food was awesome but a little pricey for what you get. Hence my lower score on value. But if your going for a special occasion and just don't think value, you will enjoy this restaurant.

This restaurant has steadily declined over the years. What my family once thought of this restaurant as one of the better seafood experiences will now become one I avoid. From managers with attitudes to relatively bland offerings, my money will be spent elsewhere. I wish Landry's luck - they're going to need it in that highly competitive market at the Greene. Granted, there aren't many "dedicated" seafood restaurants there, but no matter - I've had MUCH better seafood at Flemings, not to mention the countless other opportunities around the Dayton area. Won't be back anytime soon.

It was Valentines weekend and was busy, sat down 40 minutes after reservations, service was very slow, food was average. Bad experience!
luke warm food and disappearing waitress
It was a busy night but the waitress kept disappearing and when the food did come out some of it was warm but most of it was cold and nothing was hot. It was too much money for food that was just OK.
Fabulous Anniversary Dinner
My husband and I met our friends there for an anniversary dinner. The food and atmosphere were fabulous. Had a great waitress! We had reservations for 5 p.m. and our table was ready when we arrived. Will be back at a later date. Highly recommend.
Average Food, Above Average Prices
The food was good, but not worth the prices that they were charging. The service was mediocre and I could barely hear what the server was saying to us. This was in addition to a half an hour wait after our reservation while we could clearly see they had tables that weren't being used in another room. It wasn't a horrible experience, but there are many better places to go for the same or less money.
Romantic night out
The ambiance is modern yet cozy. Has many areas that are quiet for a romantic evening. Food is good and they change it up frequently. We have eaten here twice recently had had a romantic and quiet evening.
Flavor of the food
The food has tasted better during our previous visits.
Great fresh food & good service! Our server, Garret was very attentive & eager to please
Our restaurant experience was great from entering the restaurant to finishing up our desert. The wine selection was excellent, the menu selection gave us lots of selection and our waiter was very good in making sure our experience was exceptional.

I really enjoyed the meal with a few exceptions. I ordered the crab corn chowder served in the bread bowl and was told that they did not have the bread bowl available. Disappointed with that I ordered the chowder in a regular bowl, but it was not hot when it arrived instead it was room temperature warm at best. McCormick & Schmicks was my favorite restaurant in my area. After tonight not so much...
It's not worth the money even with a gift card
The special fish they hawked to me was out, and the fish they subbed in was not what I ordered. The server didn't come back to tell me the special fish was out for 20 minutes, so I ordered Mahi Mahi as the replacement fish, but when it came it was overcooked so badly that it was inedible. Furthermore, I'm pretty certain it was the Mako shark the server kept trying to get me to order instead. The reason I know the is because I just had Mahi Mahi at Bonefish Grill 2 wks prior and it was light, white, juicy, and delicious. Unlike what I was given last Sunday. The second piece of "Mahi Mahi" was much smaller than the first piece I received and although it was hot, it to was slightly overcooked again as well. Afterwards the server and the manager kept asking if everything was okay because they wanted to "make it right by me." Later I realized this was a ploy to avoid removing my dish from the bill or comping our meal in some other way. It would have been nice if they offered us a free desert or took the (1) Bloody Mary off the bill I'd ordered. Furthermore, their website said they had a "create your own" Bloody Mary, however, the did not offer this feature. Another couple who sat at the table next to us wanted to order off the Restaurant Week menu but they were told that the restaurant was not participating in the event even though they had advertised that they were! Even with a $50 gift card the bill was still almost quite expensive and I can assure you my wife and kids didn't order expensive meals. This is why I would not recommend this restaurant. Overall I'd give this place a C- to D grade.
