We have been to Luke many times, and enjoyed our meals. But on this occasion we were very disappointed in the food, and the service. Sadly, this restaurant is off of our NOLA must eat at locations. It was not up to what we had known it to be.

Amazing happy hour!!!
We had the most amazing time here for happy hour. Our waiter was amazing and we were treated like royalty! I couldn't give enough stars!
Food was great. Server was excellent.
Food was great. Server was excellent.
Maybe I'm old fashion. When I go out and eat, I was raised that you take your hat off at the dinner table. I was shocked to see a young man put up his hoodie over his head while he was eating his dinner. I enjoyed GW Fin much more. They have a dress code. As you can tell, my wife and I enjoy dressing up when we go out to a nice dinner. We don't want the feel that we're at a fast food place.
Post-Jazz Fest Happy Hour
We always go to Luke post-Jazz Fest for the half-priced oysters and Happy Hour specials. The oysters are always fresh and delicious. We compliment this with a French 75 which puts the whole experience in perspective and moves you past the post-Jazz Fest blues.
Great food but server could be better
I am a regular diner at Luke and enjoy the food, and convenience to my office. On occasion, the service has suffered, either by picking up plates, drinks too soon (guests were still eating), or the other extreme, leaving empty plates on the table instead of removing when entrees were delivered. My guests arrived early and were seated. I arrived at my reservation time. No one had ordered, but he never asked if I wanted a drink. Perhaps my guests refused anything except water, since they arrived first, but he never offered me the option to order anything, and scurried away from the table quickly, so I couldn't get his attention. I decided to just drink the water that was served. He did keep the glasses filled, though.
We had a great lunch and the waiter was super. The fish was fresh, flaky and moist..
Not lit at all.
Not impressed. Not lit at all. Think of things that are lit and this is the opposite. Oysters were the biggest let down of the century. Creme brûlée was litttt for way too long. Aka burnt. The only decent part of the mean was the Brussels sprouts. Best part of the night was when we left.
A little unattentive
We had a reservation for 8:30 pm, we arrived early so we asked if they had anything early. They said they didn't so we went to the bar to wait. Not only was the bar unattentive but the hostess said she came to the bar and called our name, which she didn't since we were sitting right next to where she was, and we ended up having to go ask if our table was ready at 8:30 which in fact it was ready at 8:10. Outside of that everything else was great.

Brunch was ok. Fried chicken was problematic for two reasons: 1) dark meat was hard to bite through and 2) fried was more like pan fried versus crispy (expected). Croque Madame was typical. Front staff has an superior attitude typical of a hotel restaurant.
We had an amazing meal with excellent service!
The food was an authentic NOLA style cooking, with flavor to savor! Wonderful portion size, with just enough room for the bread pudding dessert (to share, of course)!

We had lunch here on April 21. It's in the CBD so tourists mixed w suits as patrons. We enjoyed. Mussels w frites. And the Thurs special. Jambalaya. The jambalaya was not hot enough but very tasty. Both were very good. Also a great golden beet salad w buttermilk dressing. If u want to venture outside the Quarter, give it a try
Always a fan of John Besh so we were not surprised when our meal at Luke's was the best dinner we had during our recent stay in NOLA! The stuffed P&J oysters were beyond words delicious and the open faced soft shell crab BLT was awe inspiring. Oh! Definitely give the BUFALA NEGRA cocktail a try; you won't be sorry. Can't wait to return!

I ate the rabbit/chicken liver pate. The presentation was beautiful. I was told they do their own pickling. And the strawberry mustard may be my new love! Their version of French 75 is Cognac based and delicious!
Gourmet dining at its best here...we came during a very busy lunch and the restaurant was filled with business folks...the service was flawless, and the courteous staff attended to every guest with hospitality and warmth, while not missing a beat. Our delicious meal arrived quickly. We loved their famous Brussels sprouts, and server. Even brought us a copy of the recipe. The mussels were perfectly prepared with a luscious sauce, and their shrimp and grits are now our favorite of any we've ever had. Luke is now on our tops list for restaurants to visit when in NOLA. Easy ride from the French quarter on the streetcar if you prefer not to walk. Amazing experience!

Well worth the visit
The food was reasonably priced for the caliber of restaurant and quite tasty. Nice atmosphere, including the bar, without being stuffy. Might not be the best place for kids or to have a conversation. It was a bit noisy. Overall, I definitely recommend Luke!

Trip number 6 to Luke didn't disappoint, nor did the previous 5. The Crawfish Bisque is ridiculously good, nice crab and shrimp stuffed oysters and swordfish. Just another great experience at a John Besh restaurant.
brunch with the girls
We had pretty standard fare for breakfast but the brussel sprout appetizer was really nice
Noisy and chicken was dry.
They need some acoustic treatments on the walls. The floor is not carpeted, so it is a very reverberant space and the noise of everyone's conversations forms an annoying cacophony. I had the chicken entree, and it was nothing special for the $23, and it was somewhat dry. I was expecting a high-end dining experience, and was disappointed. The service was good.

great brussels sprouts but too heavy roue in gumbo, very good shrimp and grits and good fresh fish dish
I was somewhat disappointed this visit - the first time I would have marked everything as outstanding, but this visit was a little different. The food was just as delicious, but we sat in the bar area and it was quite noisy and the service was less than friendly. They seemed quite rushed and not too happy to see us. The brussel sprouts are impossibly delicious. When you eat at a Besh restaurant, you constantly try to imagine how he comes up with these incredible combinations of sauces and herbs and spices on foods that make it taste like no other place ever. My first visit was in the back of the restaurant and we fared much better there. The service was perfect then. So, avoid the bar area and you will have a delicious creative meal with great service, well worth the price.
Good food and atmosphere
Met with two friends for dinner and drinks. Service was great (Thanks Kristoffer!) and the food was superb. Don't miss out on the Crispy Brussell Sprouts and the French 75…yum!

The raw oysters were amazing!! Service is always great and the food is top notch. The brussels were also delish:)
What an amazing night!! 6 of us got together while visiting New Orleans. The food was outstanding. The restaurant had a lot of energy and we were very entertained by our wait staff, Rich and Kenny!!!!! Would recommend that this is a must go to restaurant for anyone visiting the area or who are fortunate enough to live in the area!
We started with a dozen raw oysters which were some of the best and cleanest we had in New Orleans at a reasonable price. We also had mussels in a cream sauce which were very good and a fried soft shell crab BLT which was outstanding. It's noisy but, then again, it's a young hot-spot, not a romantic fine dining restaurant. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

We planned a dinner before a play at the Saenger tonight with a group of friends. Everyone ordered different things and we were all pleased with our choices. The shrimp & grits, oysters, drum were all fantastic. The service was outstanding. Richie Rich was amazing, very entertaining and understanding of our time constraints. We'd come back for the service alone.

Spent 4 nights in New Orleans and by far the best overall meal we had. Best bite the entire trip had to be the Brussels sprouts. Cooked to perfection . If you are still a hold out from your childhood and don't think you will like Brussels sprouts you have to try these.
This was my first time at Luke and first time at a John Besh restaurant. The four of us loved it! Cocktails were interesting, wine list had something for all of us (we ordered by the glass) and the meals were fantastic! Our server was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend this and will be back new time I'm in NOLA!
Very nice and elegant. Tables were a bit close, but still a good experience. Staff was attentive and provided excellence service. Would definately go again

Creative menu. Sampled several dishes and was once again blown away. First person to sample the strawberry line mimosa. New test pilot project and let me say - a must have for brunch.
Easy on the salt!
The food was very salty; all of it. It overpowered all the other flavours. We ended up drinking tons of water later in the evening to combat our thirst. As well, the restaurant was very cold; there seemed to be air conditioning blowing on us and the people beside us who were wrapped up.
So I was expecting so much more from this restaurant. There seemed to be error after error and constant mixed up communication from staff it really ruined dinner. I don't know if the food wasn't great, or that the experience was so off that it just seemed that way.
