La Toque – Westin Napa Ratings and Reviews
An excellent Michellin rated restaurant
The service was very good and friendly , the food excellent and the wine pairings were also extremely good. Friends have been raving about La Toque for years and it lived up to their reviews. I will definitely go back and I can not say that for some Michelin rated restaurants.
Ken Frank Continues to WOW
Living in Napa there are many choices to celebrate a special occasion, but we chose La Toque for our 26th anniversary because we knew Ken Frank would not disappoint. We have enjoyed his culinary mastery as long as we have been together, beginning with his La Toque in LA, so it seemed the appropriate place for this occasion. But you don't need a celebration to dine there, and if you do most likely you will not be disappointed.
Amazing food and top notch service! The servers and sommelier were on the mark!

Wow...... this chef needs to be rescued from this place. Great food except the desserts. Horrible decor and service that is technically correct but feels suffocating and insensitive.
Napa Valley treat!!
We choose the Chef's Table tasting menu which was a nine course tasting menu and it did not disappoint!! The flavors were unbelievable and exactly what we were looking for as a special treat. The service was exceptional. They had no issues modifying for my gluten issues and it did not take away from the meal in any way. Our server's knowledge of the food and wine list was fantastic and her knowledge of the wineries was much appreciated. We would absolutely go back again.
Well worth the expense
I went there as a result of a class I took from Ken Frank the Chef. My date and I ordered the sampling menu. This caused me to try foods I would never order on their own. I loved everything, and had nothing bad. The experience was three hours worth but it flew by with anticipation of our next sampling.
The restaurant itself has modern and classy atmosphere, and food was pretty good. However, I felt the lady who took our order was inexperienced, and she kept try to upsell wines even though I said "no thanks" multiple times. We ordered 4 course menu, but no one asked how the food taste or check if I was enjoying the food. I've been to so many other Michelin stars restaurants, but this was, by far, the worst. I wonder how they got the star. I'd never visit this restaurant again.
Not a top-notch dining experience
Was great when in Rutherford. Entire experience is lacking with regard to service and food. Not that food was bad, but not in line with what they charge. Our waiter was slow and inexperienced. The food was on par with a decent steakhouse but small portions and VERY cheap wine pairings. May be fine for those that haven't experienced a great culinary restaurant but it does not come close to other restaurants in the area!
World class dining
When we visit Napa, La Toque is a must for at least one meal. The food is always good and the portions are just right for us (healthy diners). The tasting menu offers the opportunity to sample a wide variety of items without over indulging. This is not an inexpensive endeavor but we always come away satisfied!
Recently we had the great pleasure to dine at this wonderful restaurant. What an excellent experience. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. We thought it excellent value, as for this high level of restaurant it certainly was not overpriced . The service was discreet and friendly. No pretentions or superiority as you often get in this level of restaurant. Just an obvious desire from kitchen and servers that you had the best experience possible. Loved the variety of choices and price points and what a cleverly presented menu. We ate there twice in three days and certainly were not disappointed on our repeat visit. Congratulations to all.
Great as always.
I have been visiting La Toque for many years and it has always been a great experience. Making a reservations is easy. Service is perfect. They now offer a 9 course chef menu, which was perfectly designed and prepared. Great wine list and food/wine pairing option.

Wow. We made a last minute reservation as our flight got in early and I am so happy we didn't miss out on this experience. The food was incredible, the wine was amazing, the portions were generous and the staff was friendly and attentive. The carpaccio, cavatelli, fabata and the suckling pig are not to miss. Even the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and doughy on the inside. As foodies who seek out the best fine dining experiences, this was definitely top notch. It was definitely worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible dining experience!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary on this dining experience. The service and staff were over and above accommodating and exceeded our expectations. This is fine dining at it's best! We did the courses with the wine pairing and everything was absolutely perfect. I'm a hard person to please and very rarely do I give a 5 stars to anything. However, this experience will forever be in my mind and on my taste buds. We can't wait to go back.
Overall an amazing experience, would most definitely return!!!!
Outstanding food, impeccable service, great wine list, attention to every detail from checking in, checking out and everything in between. Our favorite restaurant in Napa Valley

Very nice experience again. Been here multiple times now. The chef keeps amazing us with his great dishes. Wines are on the high end pricewise. They should adjust that especially beeing in Napa.
Best restaurant in the city of Napa
Been twice in last 3 months. We like the smaller portion sizes of the 3 course plus dessert menu ($80). Interesting preparartions. Excellent service and wine list. Will go back in 3 months or so.
Romantic. Great food.
Great restaurant especially since it's a Michelin star restaurant. Quiet but still ideal for families. When we went, there was a family of 10. They also brought a baby but they weren't distracting. It's a very romantic restaurant and it seems they pay attention to detail. The valet was also appreciated. The restaurant is just on the right of the hotel lobby. Good location as well since it's close to downtown but not exactly in downtown. I don't like the busy-ness of downtown Napa. Overall, amazing food especially the strip loin that I had with my tasting. Great service.
the "table clothe" fabric was very unattractive and tended to catch clothing and even the stem of glass wear. Needs renovation. Also there needs to be a la carte selections or at least some awareness of the lack thereof

2nd time here and amazing on all levels. They deserve a 2nd Michelin star!
As expected food was superb. But when our food was served timely by such gracious, friendly & warm folks, the entire experience was AWESOME!!! We even got to take a picture with Chef Ken Frank himself!!!
Very Good Michelin rated restaurant.
Had an excellent dinner and perfect wine pairing at La Toque. Carefully prepared, beautiful presentation and well-described by service staff. My only complaint is that for a four course dinner, it was served much too quickly for one to even finish the glass of wine from the previous course.

Food was amazing, service was lackluster considering the price of the meal. Empty plates sat for 5min waiting to be cleared while resturant was not that busy.

Better than ok
Service was attentive, almost overly so. Amuse bouche plate very good, first and second courses very good, but the desserts were not very good at all. Quite a let-down from the rest of the meal. I almost sent the dessert back.
Restaurant week was a dud.
The portions were sized for a 5-course meal, but it was only 3 courses. I'm a retired chef, I understand portion sizing, this was off. Until... the chocolate dessert on steroids!!! It was bigger than everything else they brought to the table combined. No wine offered with the amuse bouche? No dessert wine pairings? Weird meal, just weird. The service was efficient, but they were sad because they knew what they were doing wasn't right.
We are French so we were expecting a 1 star Michelin restaurant. The food was at the expected level but the decor was not at all (and unfortunately we had a table at the entrance of the restaurant so that did not help) and the service was just standard. May be a bit pushy (asking 3 times if we really don't want to start with a wine of champagne). One or two stars Michelin restaurants have to offer a complete customer experience. Food. Service. Decor. A lot was missing there.
Wonderful food and pricy wines
The service is very good. Wait staff very attentive, and the wine expert is just that. Very informative. We had the wine pairing this time and choose the options menu as my husband likes choices. The food was wonderful as usual. But the star of the evening was definitely the veal chop which is served for two. It was cooked to perfection and had a rub on it that my Grandson and I talked about for the next several days. The other dish that was considered excellent was the cavatelli. Wish I had gotten two of those.
Truffle Heaven on Earth
What is not to love about truffles in every dish? Our celebratory dinner was perfectly wonderful: food was delicious and elegantly presented (especially the pasta with a heap of earthy shaved black truffles), service was of the highest caliber and our fireside setting was cozy and romantic. Ken Frank and his entire staff are the best Napa has to offer in the way of fine dining, without doubt. Our favorite restaurant for many years now and will be for many more to come. Le dîner était fantastique.
We had the tasting menu, both the 4 tasting and the 5 tasting with the related wine pairings. The service and food were outstanding, as they have been on our previous visits. Presentation was impeccable. They listen well to what you want and any adjustments. Attention to every detail is present. We had a wonderful evening and will be back. It is our favorite restaurant in all of the Napa Valley.

Food was up to par, except the bread. Venue and service very ordinary. Not worth the high price.
Amazing Romantic dinner
Chef's tasting menu was out of this world, albeit expensive!

This was a triumph of perfection, food, wine pairing, service, ambiance and thank God for that since the previous night's dining also at a Michelin starred restaurant was disappointing. How does La Toque not have more Michelin stars, they deserve at least another one.

Everything was amazing! The service was excellent, the food divine, the overall experience was truly amazing phenomenal. We went for a dinner for two on Christmas Eve and each had the four course tasting menu. Between the two of us we had the carpaccio, beet and grapefruit salad, scallops with pumpkin and fried chickpeas, Apple and onion tart, cavatappi, prime rib eye with cheddar tapioca, milk and cookies and triple crunch cake with Apple. Everything was out of this world delicious but our favorites were the scallops which were the best we've had anywhere. The amuse buche to begin was a fabulous introduction and we're excited to try the included dessert which we took home. We did not enjoy wine with the meal, but the list is extensive and there are sommeliers present to help pair the perfect wine. Fantastic meal, we enjoyed every second!
Worthy of its Michelin star
What an amazing experience. This restaurant lives up to its billing and provided a fantastic culinary experience. We enjoyed the 4 course meal with add-ons and wine choices for each plate. Although you pay for what you get, we thought it was worth it for a special night.
One of the best, if not the best, food we've ever had in America and probably among the top five in the world (and we are travelers who have been in France, Italy and other notable countries known for their food. The service was incredible and from starters to dessert, everything that came out of the kitchen was simply outstanding. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Napa, especially on my wife's birthday.
Have dined here many times. Service is always impeccable. This time, while I enjoyed the food, I didn't leave with that wow factor I have before. The wine pairings were not quite up to my previous experience as well. Several seemed flat, like they had been open for awhile. Overall, a fun dinner, but very expensive.
My husband and I chose the 4 course tasting menu, so we had a chance to taste a total of 8 dishes (6 savory, 2 sweet). For the most part, everything was unremarkable. The scallop dish was particularly disappointing. We did enjoy the foie gras and the desserts. Service was on par for a Michelin starred restaurant. My husband ordered a classic martini that he didn't enjoy, and they took it off of our bill when they noticed that he didn't drink most of it. We noticed quite a few people coming in to the restaurant from the hotel in t-shirts, although the restaurant has a "smart casual" dress code (they even emphasized this on the reservation confirmation email). An unfortunate side effect of being a part of a large chain hotel.
This was our third time to this restaurant for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. As usual, the chef and his team brought out one amazing course after course. Being vegetarian we are especially delighted and grateful that they are so willing to accommodate us each time we return. We look forward to the day our son is old enough to appreciate this type of food. Also, being our anniversary, they welcomed us with a surprise glass of champagne. Service is always impeccable and we are looking forward to our next visit!
