Kona Grill - Chandler Ratings and Reviews
My steak was cooked well, but lacked seasoning. My wife had the macadamia chicken, the texture was off. The Brussels sprouts (an interesting choice) were hard. The mashed potatoes were super dry. The saving grace was the snickers pie, very good. Very expensive for a lackluster meal.

Kona on Valentine's Day
The staff was very helpful and very friendly. The outside bar area was very large and the property is of high-quality that I expect from Kona Grill. I always leave Kona happy!
Kona Grill Valentine's Day
We had a simple dinner out for Valentine's Day at Kona Grill. The food was good. I had the chopped salad. A little heavy on the dressing, should have ordered it on the side but very tasty nonetheless. My wife had the Chicken Avocado Club which she said was very good and she enjoyed the Taro chips. The restaurant actually wasn't that busy, looked like a few of the reservations no-showed on them, yet it still took quite a while to get our food. That was fine since it was just my wife and I but if we had the kids with, it would have been too long. We also didn't get the "specials" menu and when my wife asked our server, she aplogized that the hostess didn't give us one and said she wodl get one for use, but never did bring it over. By the time we reminded her when she came back to take our order, we told her to forget it. Not a big deal, just an unexpected oversight. Still, good food, service outisde of that minr issue was fine.
Kona Grill Just OK
My wife and I had four dishes there and one was great, the other three would be never again. Service was great and I have eaten at Kona in Scottsdale with much better results. Two different Pad Thai dishes were awful. The lobster / shrimp sushi roll was outstanding while the one with mango was tasteless. I have eaten at both for lunch with much better results. It was Valentines Day so maybe they were too busy to be at their best.

The atmosphere and wait staff were great! The meal I received was a bit pricey for what I got but my husbands meal was fine.
Food is great and if not they will remake it great
Been eating here for a few years now, about 5-6 times per year, usually on special occasions. They have great food!
Tacos were cold wraps, fish wasn't done enough, rice was hard. Very mediocre food, not impressed, we won't go back.
Good food, mediocre service
Our meal was ok but the server was not very efficient. Drinks were refilled ok, but it took a long time to get our order taken and for him to respond to us. We were planning to order dessert but we had to wait so long for him to return that we decided to just leave.
Business Meeting at Kona Grill
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
A nice time however
The food and service was good, however I feel that we were being rushed while there was NO reason for it, since it was NOT closing time and their was plenty of tables available. Perhaps the staff had not enough to do.

Pricey. And waited 45 minutes for our meal after 20 Minutes for drinks.
We went with some friends and although I have always enjoyed the menu items, I do find this place to be a bit pricey for what is served. For one appetizer, two entrees and two adult beverages, our total came to $95.00 before the tip. Our friends had two entrees, three adult beverages and their bill was near 80.00. A bit much for more than once every few months visit.
Favorite sushi place,
great place for groups and good sushi if your into that kind of of thing and next to mall for shopping

Food was great. Loved the fondue but needed more pretzel bites. Asked for a booth in reservation it was ignored. We asked was able to move to a party full of kids on our date night. There were many booths and didn't like the attitude. Server messed up drinks but fixed. Really it was ok except for host, no drink menu, no smile, but lots of attitude sadly.
Kona Grill - great experience
We always enjoy the dining experience at Kona Grill. Food is well-prepared and delicious, served in a timely manner. We enjoyed the inside seating which was separated from the bar - barely noticeable that the bar was quite busy.
we had a reservation for 5:30 on a saturday night, waited an hour for our food and when it did finally arrive, it was cold. Very disappointed in what is normally a great restaurant ..
ONE OF OUR FAVORITES
We moved here from Las Vegas a year ago and were happy to find a Kona Grill in the area. Kona Grill never disappoints. Took our friends here for their first experience and I think they'll be back.
The Kona Grill restaurant in Chandler is located at the mall. The only downside is patio dining constantly has cars driving by and the overhead tends to trap exhaust. The frequent breeze and the spring weather compensated well. The fish was tender and cooked to order. The wine list is small but has enough variety to find a decent pairing.
appetizers took too long and then the entrees came before we were finished with the appetizers. Bad timing in the kitchen.

I had dinner with my husband and daughter. We chose to eat inside because we didn't want to wait extra for an outdoor table. While our server was very pleasant, she seemed distracted. I ordered a soda with a request for lime garnish. She brought an obviously completely flat drink with no garnish. When I asked for a fresh drink, it took several minutes for her to return with yet another completely flat soda. I had to remind her about bringing me a garnish. My husband ordered a veggie roll as an appetizer, but they brought it out with all of our food- a good half an hour after we had ordered. Food was good but not really remarkable. When it came time to pay, our server couldn't be found and a gentleman we assume was the manager brought us to-go containers and a bag. When she rang up our check, we redeemed a gift card to cover part of the bill- except she also charged us the full amount on our credit card as well! Thankfully, we were paying attention and asked that the charge be corrected. She disappeared again for quite a few minutes before returning with a corrected bill. All in all, made us not want to return. The Kona Grill location in San Tan Village is much better!
Great lunch locale
Went with a coworker for lunch. I'd eaten at another location before (in San Tan Village mall) and like the variety of food choices they offer- sushi for those who enjoy it, and other Asian/Hawaiian influenced food for those who might not. Also appreciate that their website lists which of their menu options are healthier (even if their portions are huge!). This location was just as good as the other, only much closer to work. I will likely be back here for future lunches but will stick to the Gilbert location for dinners (it is closer to home).
The atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxing.
I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were extremely spicy. They were so spicy that I couldn't finish them without a bunch of water. It wasn't listed as spicy on the menu and since I was at lunch with my boss, I didn't want to make a scene so I basically ate the appetizer. I would suggest to list when a menu item is spicy so the person is aware before they order it. My boss and co-worker ordered Jalapeno yellowtail sashi and that wasn't as spicy as my shrimp tacos.
Food was perfect and the kids menu was something that other restaurants should copy. They had the standard kids menu fare plus kids portioned items that are in the Kona grill wheelhouse. Great all around. Loud atmosphere was perfect for me and my three kids.
Great night for a special occasion
Tried sushi for the first time, waiter was super helpful and nice. Really enjoyed this place would go back again !!!
Great food, great experience
The food was really great, I had the salmon with sweet chili sauce and the meal was very tasty. I am not a big sushi person so I was very impressed at the menu options for non-sushi lovers! We also ordered the edimame with angry sauce on the side (it gets too drenched if they pour it on), they were good as well. The angry sauce is pretty spicy so getting it on the side helps to regulate the amount per edimame pod. The people that I was with ordered some of the sushi rolls, the presentation of the food was awesome and they were very satisfied with the selections. They were also kid friendly and had a little bento box with meal selections that kids will eat. They gave us little guides for chopsticks for kids too which was great! The etch a sketch also kept the little one occupied until the food arrived. Service was pretty good too, although our waitress was a little inattentive toward the end. We ordered the chocolate brownie to share and it was huge! It tasted good but it's really like ordering a half a pan of brownies, we didn't really even eat half of it (we tried). Overall, the food was good and it was a great experience. I'd recommend it again!
Friday night out
We were able to get a quick reservation for 2 @ 6:30 were seated quickly and waited on promptly. Service was superb timing of food delivery was spot on and the food was ok. Good stop over for a Friday night

New Years Eve dining spot for group of 11 Great variety on the menu, good food, and casual dinng. The salmon dish is oustanding, and I managed a few bites of my wife's pork tenderloin dish, which was tasty too. The burgers were enormous!
Food is always good
Kona is an easy place to go with a group because the sushi is good and even picky eaters can find something to eat off their diverse menu.

we had a group of 12 and everyone had a great experience
My husband and I and two young daughters had a very enjoyable experience. The food was very good and service was prompt. My husband did say the Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for his liking but was otherwise delicious. The kids' menu is extensive and includes quite a few healthy choices. The serving size for kids is just right also.
DISAPPOINTED IN CHANDLER

Great food. Great service. Our table was ready to go as soon as we arrived.
Kona Grill is a wonderful venue for group events (we had a group of 8). They accommodated all our requests and really helped to make our birthday dinner extra special - we even brought our own birthday cake which they helped wrap at the end of our dinner and they provided to-go boxes so we could take it home. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The menu includes a variety of dishes that can work for a group of varying palates - we had a mixture of sushi, burgers, pastas and seafood dishes. Plus, the kids have a great menu with the food served in very cute bento boxes. We highly recommend Kona Grill for future events!
Our first time at the Kona Grill in Chandler. Wish there was one closer as this one was quite a distance. Have been to Kona Grill many times while living in Las Vegas.
As always This Kona grill delivers excellent foods at a decent price, and the service was so good I had to go over my normal 20% for good service number (which had only happened maybe one other time in the last year).
Kids favorite Phoenix sushi spot
I am not one for sushi but the kids love it there. Everything seems very good. I go there especially for the Macadamia Chicken. This past visit the mashed potatoes (with skins) were a bit cold, but still an overall great experience
We celebrated our 17-year anniversary and the food & service went above & beyond. The sushi was fresh and the non-sushi guests were given many options to choose from. My niece is a fan of the flatbread and my husband loves the dynamite roll. Thanks for a great dining experience.
Great for large party
Food was great, service was friendly and attentive and they did a great job accommodating a party of 13.
