Joseph's Restaurant at Renault Winery Ratings and Reviews
The food and service was excellent.
The food and service was excellent.
Definitely the best dining experience we ...
Definitely the best dining experience we've ever had!! My girlfriend and I celebrated 6 months of dating with a stay at the winery. I had a vase of flowers delivered to the restaurant, and they arrived perfectly on our table. Service was simply excellent. We ordered Flounder Involtini and Shellfish en Brotto, each of which had us nearly licking our plates. Best fish I've ever eaten. Then, when we needed a box for leftovers, we remembered that our hotel room did not have a mini-fridge. But the waiter did not have a problem putting our food in their kitchen fridge until we checked out the next day. The entire staff was extremely accommodating during our stay. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning very soon!!
Excellent food and service
From appetizer to main entree excellent....presentation elegant....wine very good, hostess, servers were very pleasant, not rushed, nice atmosphere, would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very enjoyable Easter dinner with my wife.
My rack of lamb was melt in you mouth perfectly cooked and my wife loved her salmon.
Poor customer service
Went here for Easter dinner as a group of 12. To my surprise, the resturant wasnt busy at all. We arrived at 4pm. We had the normal salads that came with dinner and an appetizer. Our main entrees did not come out until 5:45. Food was ehh, horrible customer service! The manager on duty did absolutely nothing about the problems after she was told about them. I'm pretty sure the bus boy was waiting on us. Definitely will not be back and have told numerous people. If you come here, make sure your brushed up on your spanish because the staff doesn't speak nor understand English.
Room for improvement.
Was very pleased with the meal. Servers were friendly. The negatives were an extremely long wait between courses and receiving the check. While the musical entertainment was welcomed, it was so loud we had to yell to have a conversation. Would visit again for a banquet or for a party but probably not for dinner service unless I had time to kill.

Dinner at Joseph's on March 11th with friends turned out to be a very nice experience. The food was very good and the service was friendly. Definitely a restaurant to check out!
Try It, You'll Like It
We went as a group of 4 on a Tuesday Night 6:15pm. There were very few patrons dining, the 4 of us and 2 other couples as well as a couple at the bar. The food was delicious and obviously fresh. My husband had the Italian version of cous-cous and LIKED it. (the name of it alone was reason for him NOT to eat it originally but calling it FREGOLA made it much more appealing I suppose.!) We went during restaurant week but didn't'order off the Prix Fixe menu. We went with the regular menu and got just what we wanted anyway. The Whipped Ricotta Bruschetta was fab as always and the calamari was on the money as per the usual. There were 2 striper dishes, 1 salmon and white beans with greens and 1 Mediterranean Shrimp and Scallop dish ordered. One bottle of Fresella was ordered for the table. The bill came to $198.00. This included dessert, wine, coffee, appetizers and entrees for 4 people. Not bad in my opinion. Well worth the trip mid-week from anywhere. I think that most folks in the area forget that they're out there and just look them up as a special event venue. My friend and I had asked to see one of their rooms on Valentines Weekend and they were booked. They only had ONE room left because someone cancelled. The room we were shown was a standard and was totally beautiful! Very tasteful, clean and spacious. I think this would be a nice place to stay for an out of town guest especially during the week. But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!
Slow start for restaurant week lunch
Waited 10 to 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table to take our drink order. It took another 10 minutes before the drinks arrived. Fortunately service improved as the afternoon went on. The mussel appetizer was delicious and the entrées were tasty and nicely prepared. There was a good selection of desserts to choose from.
Located at winery and golf course. Restaurant week lunch was very good. Had mussels for appetizer, eggplant rollatini for entree and bread pudding for desert. All food tasty and cooked properly.
Will go again
I went with my husband for lunch for my birthday. We were both pleasantly surprised at how good the good was. We will be going back soon.
Our server "T" was great, always smiled and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We had a wonderful meal and a great bottle of Sangria, will definitely come again
Was expecting more
We waited for about 30 min after each course for our server to return to the table. In spite of making reservations, we were seated in a side section next to the bar and a TV playing Gran Torino which is a good movie, but not during a romantic Valentines day dinner. The regular restaurant section had tablecloths and better lighting which we expected would be where they would sit us with a reservation. The food was average. If it had been slightly less expensive I would have rated it higher, but for such an expensive meal I expect much more both in terms of food and service.
Restaurant is associated with a local winery. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Italian fair. The surf an turf was excellent with a large lobster tail (6oz) stuffed with crab meat and a 8oz. fillet. Enjoyed the dinner with one of their Cab's.
Step out ..
This is a hidden gem in the woods. For us locals, who are looking for a different dining experience, we often forget that we have such cuisine so close to home. I think if they advertised a bit more to the local areas , they could do more of a business.Renault is the name when thinking of a brunch or wedding venue, but for weekend dinners and the like, I think it gets forgotten. Step out into the limelight and take a piece of South Jersey dining!
Joseph's is at the Renault Winery.
We have been going to Joseph's for Thanksgiving dinner for over 5 yrs. now. In addition to their Thanksgiving turkey dinner (everyone gets white meat unless you ask for dark), which includes a salad and pumpkin pie for $25, they have a wonderful special menu for the day if you would rather not have turkey. However, the turkey was moist, and the stuffing and special mashed potatoes were wonderful, as were the asparagus and other vegetables. As you can guess, they have a wonderful wine selection, and a nice selection of draft beers. Throughout the year we occasionally go to Joseph's for either lunch or dinner, and, always after playing golf at the Renault Winery 18-hole course across the street. The food was very good as was the service.
the food was perfectly prepared. Staff were friendly. The view was beautiful.
My wife and I had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Joseph's. Great menu with a variety of entrees, including seafood, meats and pastas. The Lamb chops were outstanding as were the scallops. Cheese plate was a great starter which went well with a bottle of merlot. We also enjoyed a nice cocktail at the bar prior to dinner. We had never been to Joseph's before, but will certainly be back.
My friends and I went to Joseph's on November 1 with a 5:00 p.m. reservation, which is early, to take advantage of their "special menu" offering for the month of November. I ordered the mussels and they were out of them! My friends ordered the veal parm and it was thick and tasteless! Our waiter was very nice but admitted to being "new" to Joseph's and could not answer many of our wine selection questions. All is all, it was not a great night for food at Josephs. I have had better meals there previously.
Needs an update

Food way over cooked, very slow service empty water glass. Probably the worst service we have ever had eating out .
My gf and I were guests at the hotel so we wanted to check out Joseph’s restaurant after the winery. Were we ever sorry!! After waiting over an hour for food, we kept asking what the issue was. I will give our server an A+ for effort and I do not blame him for the kitchen’s mistake. He was visibly upset but could offer no other explanation than they “had a big party” that night. This tells me that the kitchen/restaurant itself is just not prepared to handle the volume. We ended up getting our food to go and took it back to the room. That was mistake #2 because the eggplant tower that I ordered was burnt. Rather than go down to the restaurant and get my money back, I just threw it out and went to bed hungry. I would visit the hotel and the winery again- but never the restaurant.
Food was great and I will definitely go back. Very nice and warm atmosphere. I like that they had wine suggestions too and my wine made be Renault was very good and paired well with my entree
One of my worse dining experiences...
Food was okay but not great. Service was terrible we did a flatbread to start and two entrees. We would have done dessert however we decided to leave after waiting 15 minutes for our server to wait on us after one of the bus boys had cleared our dinner plates. This was of course after waiting a good deal to be offered drinks and having to search for our waiter for refills. Other tables were seated and served 3 courses while we were still waiting for our entrees. unexcusable especially since the wait staff was a team of 4 working together to serve all the tables. We finally had to walk to the hostess to pay our bill to leave.

Delicious Italian food
I ate here for the first time with my boyfriend this weekend and we loved it! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh! The service was great and our waitress made sure we were happy with everything. It was a very nice Italian atmosphere with charm and perfect for a romantic night out. They had so many wines to choose from and a good selection of Italian food. I would definitely eat here again!
Memorable food. Great service and unexpected find in south jersey. Skip overpriced hotels in AC and come here

The food was not tasty but the drinks and ambience were great. Would be great for a nice romantic dinner or lunch. Prices were a bit high so I would not go there often.

Josephs at Renault
We love this place. Great food. Great wine. Worth the drive!
With a half empty restaurant, we were told that we would need to wait at least 15 min past our reservation time before they could seat us. When we were finally seated, it took at waiter another 15 min before they even approached our table. We had just started to look for other dining options in the area so we could leave when someone finally came over. He was clueless on the menu and the specials. Shame on us for not getting out when we had the chance! At least the food was decent. Would not recommend to others.
Outstanding meal for all.
Every item was superb from appetizers through entrees. Presentation and service were excellent. Local wines matched food choices. Will return!
Food good service bad .. Not enough help ??
We waited to even to get acknowledge by the server , restaurant was a little busy for a Thursday nite .. Our daughters food didn't come until we were almost done ours , they offered her a free desert and her reply was just to take hers off the bill which they said they couldn't but would give us half off .. We were there for almost two hours ..
Very nice restaurant, servers are friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable . Would recommend for a night out or special occasion. Very nice atmosphere.
I asked that they put a little tealight on the table for our anniversary and they did! So nice. The waiter was attentive and fast. I had the flounder, I wasn't crazy about it but my husband loved it so that was just me. Overall, great experience!
Gourmet Treats in the Jersey Pine Barrens....
Compliments to the chef - from start to finish, every bite of my meal was an "Amuse Bouche!"
