Industriel Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding Spot in Downtown L.A.
We went to Industriel because another restaurant has no record of our reservation. We had never heard of it but it looked great on Open Table. We were stunned by what we found. The food was creative and sensational. We shared everything, which allowed us to try much of the menu, and everything was terrirific. We couldn't believe we had not discovered this great place sooner, and can't wait to go back.
Good food, good value, nice ambiance
our 2nd visit to Industriel (first time 2 years ago) and food was still good, we would go again.

The waiter was so attentive and the chef gave me a personal "Hello"
This place is one of my favorites...I bring all my out-of-DTLA friends and out-of-town friends here. The Chevre Gnocchi makes me whimper.
Best in Downtown
We live in LA but decided to spend several days in downtown. This was the absolute BEST meal we had anywhere during out time in downtown! A real treat - we'll be back and we're telling everyone we know!
Unique and Tasty
The food selection for a Saturday brunch was eclectic and everything sounded very good. My mom had the cornmeal pancakes and I had the duck confit (cheddar grits, boiled egg, duck, light gravy). Both were delicious. My dish was on the barely warm side however, but we were served promptly so not sure why. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Great decor and atmosphere. I would come here again.
Thought this place looked really cool and that the food sounded great, but it was a bit of a disappointment. The bread at the beginning was delicious, but then I had the kale salad followed by Mary's Roast Chicken. Although the salad was quite good, I kept getting big chunks of thick fat from the bacon which sort of ruined it for me. The chicken was just weird--roast broccoli drenched in broth and then strange balls of something (I'm not sure if those were the rice cakes...? They were pretty bad, whatever they were!). We also had about 5 different servers all waiting on us at different points during the meal which meant we had to keep telling them someone else had already taken care of one thing or another, and our conversation was continually interrupted (and it was hard enough to talk in the first place, given how loud it was in there). Not really a spot I would recommend, unfortunately. Don't think I'll be back!

Excellent value! Great service. Food was outstanding and our server Anthony was fantastic.
Farm fresh in downtown.
During every visit to LA Industrial is an absolute must. The quinoa salad, the smoked potatoes and the salmon are to die for...... as is everything else. Very cool interior, love the upstairs! Don't forget the amazing cocktail menu, French kilt is my favorite?
Great interior design and good food
Great interior design and good food Really interesting menu. Buy a few things to share family style so you can try it all
Before theater dinner
Industriel was a short walk from the Music Center. We had several good dishes, particularly the duck confit and the brussel sprouts. The cheese board had minuscule portions for $18.
Innovative and delicious menu.
Not locals, so we don't get to eat here often. But when in LA, we steer clear of chains. Industriel has fresh and interesting menu items and we've always been pleased. Service is impeccable and the staff is knowledgable.
Decor off, Food On
A great find for DTLA. Food and Service really fine.
Once you find it
It may be said elsewhere, but the address is 609. Don't expect to find the place between 601 and 619. Instead, go to the corner of Grand and 6th and you'll find the restaurant. The nice man at 619 Grand seemed used to the question. (He should probably just put a sign with an arrow in his window. Maybe Industriel could make that sign for him.) That said, the food was interesting, with unexpected flavor combinations. The wines we had were good. The dessert was perhaps too experimental, unless you like sour cranberries with your cake. The idea was to not have the ordinary. Industriel did that.
Price inflation for Valentines for 3-cou ...
Price inflation for Valentines for 3-course preset. 20% gratuity included, which is NOT the issue. However, does it give the waiter the privilege to slack off on service? Maybe it does here. Food portion was slimmed down but had good flavors; left a bit hungry. ...don't have a huge appetite or require big portions either. A place to go out of the way for? Not really, but may have a better experience on regular working day for lunch if I worked in DTLA.
Lots of potential, mixed results
First, the people here are excellent: friendly (really), flexible, made us feel welcome. We showed up early for our reservation, just a block from our hotel in downtown LA. They would have seated us right away but we elected to sit in the bar. They serve a very fine drink (another plus) and let us linger at the bar. We were then shown to our table upstairs (which went from "industrial" downstairs to a mix of "industrial and English timber house" upstairs. Table probably the nicest in the house and we got a description of the history of the building. Food ranged from super to so-so. A starter of quinoa salad with beets was great - came out crimson red in color, full of tang and crunch and textures. The main course of braised beef though was just so-so: as often happens with braised meat in ends up being fatty and sometimes bland. But then dessert was terrific and the wine choices are solid by the glass. So, we'd try it again and would recommend it to anyone comfortable with the "industrial" look in decor.

Went on Valentine's Day and food was way overpriced but still pretty delicious. Unfortunately, though, the waiters came to serve us the wrong food three times.
Not their fault. We just prefer a simpler menu. Foodies will love it. It was a convenient choice for out of town guests in for the Grammy Awards and one of the few downtown places that could accommodate us early on Valentine's day.

Although it is located in the busy historic core, it felt calm and intimate on the second floor. Comfy chairs, soft lighting and well spaced seating allows for a relaxed dining experience. The food was fresh and well presented. The chef was great about accommodating food allergies. The staff was attentive and considerate. Our water glasses were always full and the staff was great about not coming round when we were mid-bite. Wishing they had more vegetarian options, considering the "farm to table" concept. Portions are adequate for sharing. Was really nice to have great service in DTLA, is not the norm for sure.

Great food. Better service. We were in a rush to see a show and the wait staff could not have been more accomodating. Our server even rushed out into the street after us mistakenly thinking we had left our tickets behind. The food was well cooked, perfectly fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. We'll be back.
Great for a pre-theater dinner
We had a great pre-theater dinner at Industriel on 2/13/2016. We parked at the Music Center and walked down to the restaurant (about 4-5 blocks) - using the Library stairs (and escalators). We shared all our dishes - the persimmon and burrata salad (wonderful), Morrocan Lamb (fabulous - we will return for this dish), Gambas (very good) and the Salmon main course (also very good). We finished with the Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Tart for dessert which was great. The service was great; friendly, informative, prompt and efficient. Give yourself 15-20 minutes for the walk back up the hill.
Burnt Broccalini, Steak ordered medium rare but was well-done, fish that was oversalted.
One of my favorite regular places.
I take visitors and friends to Industriel all the time. The Chevre Gnocchi makes me whimper.
We arrived after nine so a few of the specials
Were sold out. Our other choices were fabulous though! We sat upstairs which was much quieter than down. Our server was great very regular guy...enjoys his work and it showed! We will return.
Great dining experience
Great downtown atmosphere. Some dishes were tremendous, some good, none bad. All interesting. Would definitely recommend and I would come back.
Excellent choice for Dine L.A!
Originally saw this as part of "Eye on LA" TV programme. Found it was part of Dine L.A, so thought we'd give it a try..... Excellent!! Set menu was good, but main menu looked great too. Good prices. Great alcohol selection too. We'll be back!
Not worth the price for what I received. Skirt steak for 19$.

Energetic vibe with knowledgeable wait staff
We went to Industriel for dinner while on a buying trip. It was within short walking distance to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown L.A. We made reservations for dinner and had to change them twice with the restaurant being graciously accommodating. My dish was the Rockfish done in a miso sauce that was perfect, perfect, perfect. My friend having the Chevre Gnocchi which was tender and lovely. The ambiance was fun and lively with corner tables that were cozy if a visit was in order. The waitstaff was amazing with intimate knowledge of the source of the food and drink offered. We really enjoyed our time there and would go back again.

A few of my co-workers and I decided to try the Dine L.A./Restaurant Week lunch menu since we're so close. The interior decoration is quite eclectic. Cowbells adorn the windows and there's this odd honey/bathtub sculpture thing in the middle of the dining room (I'm sure it means something but we didn't bother asking). Because of the large windows, it's bright and airy. The food was delicious, although it did seem to take a while to get to us. One of our party order the quinoa dish but was brought the kale dish instead. When we pointed it out, the staff were quick to whisk the kale away and bring the quinoa right out. I'm not sure the Dine L.A. menu would be enough to entice me back but one of my co-workers who has eaten there before says that the regular menu food is great so I'm sure we'll be back. My only complaint was the noise level. It's a small space but with very high ceilings so it got a little loud. It was hard to talk to my companions without having to raise my voice. Overall though, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was tasty.
Good food find
The food was excellent. A truly delicious burger! The restaurant is very loud - not conducive to a meeting or important conversation. The restaurant is unique in its decor. The service was a little slow and inattentive, but not horrible. Overall, a great meal.

Flavors were good, both soup & entree were cold - was told large party upstairs meant food downstairs was delivered late. Food was remade and was still ice cold at the bottom . Very disappointing. Bill was adjusted, but I had to ask for an explanation as to how & why. If the food had been hot, I would have given this a much higher rating.

Our group of 6 was really looking forward to dining here, but left disappointed. We dined during Dine LA. First course did not come out at the same time. Everyone was done with their first course & plates cleared before I received mine. Second course, hot mains came out cold, and 90+ minutes after we were seated. We had to ask for our desserts to go as we had a commitment after dinner (we allowed 2.5 hours for dinner before our after dinner commitment and didn't have time to finish dinner). My husband and I love slow paced meals where we are not rushed, but this was too slow.
My food was just ok but my dining partners food was awful. Salmon was not cooked so she went with a burger well. The burger came... rare. Sent back no apologies or effort to correct the problem. Sadly ordered chicken to go and it wasn't good. Overall the dining experience was not good.
