Indigo Grill Ratings and Reviews
Indigo Grill delivers great food and service
Took a group of friends and colleagues here while at a conference in San Diego. They were all thrilled with the food and the service they received. The dinners were delicious and the churro desert was incredible.

We live in the area and this is one of our favorites. We have been here for dinner and for happy hour. Both are recommended. The food is creative, innovative. You should have a palette for spice & heat generally. Michael is the best !
Amazing Birthday Dinner For My Daughter
Thank you to Deborah, Russell, and Carlos for making my daughter Chelsea's birthday so special! We love Indigo grill. See you soon! Jennifer S.
Fun and Different
This is a funky place with unusual decor, creative food and a good vibe. I was disappointed in the craft cocktails, but the food was good. My sister had "Everything Good Growing" or something like that, and it was delicious. I had an excellent salad, and added a steak skewer, but the skewer was disappointing. My husband had something like carne asada which was quite good. Overall we were happy with the place, but not blown away.

The food was really good, and the service was excellent. We arrived shortly after they opened, so it wasn't too crowded. Both my husband and I are gluten free, and we had a variety of choices- which is rare! We highly recommend to anyone looking for a twist on Latin foods.
The drinks were horrible. We sent them back and the second round was just as bad. The food was bland. The calamari could bounce it was so rubbery. We actually left after the appetizers and went to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

As always, Excellent
Was really surprised to find that this usually crowded establishment was quite empty on Easter evening. I guess everyone just stayed home, but on most occasions it can be crowded and a reservation is necessary. Well, this time, again, they did not disappoint. We had very great service, and the food was excellent. One of our favorites!
A little underwhelmed ...
Given the hassle of getting to and parking in Little Italy, the hype around chef Debra Scott, and the price point, I was expecting better. Took friend there for dinner, and found the food to be very average. Not a great deal of flavor (how do you take the flavor OUT of pork belly?). Ambiance is okay, but a little noisy and I don't really understand the theme (rustic something that seems to be all the rage). On the positive side, it has a large bar area that can accommodate locals or people dropping in. It is also a large space, so groups fit well.
Indigo Grill Dinner 3/19
Indigo Grill was one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I ate there frequently before the remodel. We took our daughter there 3/19 and were very disappointed. The menu has changed dramatically. Wonderful favorites like, Rojo Chicken is only on the menu on Tuesday which is ridiculous. We had 3 appetizers, the grilled romaine ( one of my favorites ) was over-grilled and soggy. The three meat board was nothing special with large amount of spreads and a very small amount of vegetables and meat. The cheviche was fair not outstanding. I ordered the crispy chicken with the garlic mash potatoes which was bland and uninspired. My husband and daughter had the pork shank which had a flavorful sauce but the Mac and chess was bland. The intense flavors and quality food was why we liked Indigo Grill, unfortunately the dishes are now mainstream in flavor and disappointing. I think the focus now is catering to the bar crowd not those of us who like a flavorful night out for dinner. We will not be back.
Not Dissapointed Again!
We decided to have a special occasion at Indigo Grill. I asked in advance for some items to be prepared, and they were done to my exact specifications. The food is ALWAYS unbelievable and the service amazing. You will NEVER be disappointing at a Cohn restaurant. Just know the noise level is quite high.

Food was great, our server got busy and less attentive at the end, but overall a good experience
Tamales, and Steak
The food is amazing, but the drinks have some fun and vibrant twists. The reason I keep coming back is the service. I feel like a million bucks after I leave.
I like this place mostly for its vibe. It just feels fun and different. Food was quite good, especially the Indian corn pudding that came with the hickory smoked pork ribs. Natasha gave us terrific service. She has an upbeat manner, but definitely not to the degree of being annoying. It's a place to which I hope to return soon!

If you're looking for food with a zest full of spice and flavor, then look no further. This is hands down an eclectic restaurant from the dishes down to the decor. The ambiance and decor beautifully executed providing the perfect warmth and flare. It encompasses a blend of old rustic fixtures with a touch of modern chic. The dishes are unique in there presentation and not one lacks of flavors. Your first bite will feel like an explosion of warmth and your last bite will feel nothing short of satisfaction. The Skirts on Fire is one of the best steak and beans I've ever had. The grilled quesadilla was flavored and grilled unlike any other and let's not forget those churros -can you say heavenly! It was accompanied with dipping sauce made up of 3 flavors Mexican chocolate, strawberry and creme de leche (if I remember correctly) This just took the entire meal over the edge and left me with a crazed addiction. Will definitely be going back for more.
Finally ate at Indigo Grill for the first time and was really pleasantly surprised. Our food was excellent. The server was very nice and helpful with recommendations, but it was a Friday night so there were also times when it took a long time to get her attention, like when we wanted the check. The manager came by to ask us how our meal was, which was really nice.

Love this place
Have been 5 or 6 times over last two years when in San Diego. Always consistent - a favorite of ours. Also has a gluten free menu which was helpful for my daughter. The staff are friendly and accommodating - and love the menu and the food. Hope you enjoy too. Note: Parking on India Street/Little Italy section of San Diego is tough - worth just pulling into one of the parking lots.

We ordered a wide selection of food and nothing was very good. The steak skewers were all very tough the queso fundito was barely warm and quickly became a chunk of solid cheese. The tacos were not impressive. And the chicken/pork belly skewers were boring. I would consider trying entrees instead of small plates but not for a while. Our server was following his script rather than paying attention to what we were actually saying.
Good but used to be better
My husband and I dined here, and got one $30 meal deal plus other food. The $30 meal is a good value! The foood was a bit uneven though. We prefer the previous menu from more than a year ago.
Chef Debra Scott outdid herself, AMAZING FOOD
The servers were wonderful, we never had an empty drink. The recommendations were spot on. And the prices was great, they had a special going, 3 courses for $30. And did i mention the food was Amazing?!?! You can tell the Chef loves what she does, we WILL be back to this gem in Little Italy.
New menu not good
I used to love Indigo Grill. Saturday was my first time back since they changed menus. I ordered the crispy jalapeño chicken. It was just fried chicken. There was no jalapeño flavor at all. The table next to us was so close I could hear their conversation. Won't be back. We did have an attentive waiter who was great.
Disappointed with some menu changes but still quality shines. This night took longer than usual for entrees but worth the wait.

Fantastic service and recommendations from our waiter.
My boyfriend took me here to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days early(on a Monday night). We had called ahead for a reservation about an hour before and were seated right away. The service was friendly and helpful. I got the filet mignon and it was amazing! Had onion rings and bleu cheese on it and was served with amazing chipotle mashed potatoes, seared tomatoes with balsamic glaze and possibly the best chile relleno I've ever had. My boyfriend got a chicken entree and was a little disappointed with the portion and the fact that it wasn't boneless. He did, however, say the taste was great. Overall we had a great experience, the restaurant had a great ambiance was very romantic.
The restaurant has been slightly enlarged and menu has some changes since last visit. The food is still outstanding and creative and the service is always exceptional. Went twice with two different groups on this visit and everyone enjoyed.
Chef Debora Scott hits it out of the park.
Chef Debora Scott does not disappoint even after so many years. I had the Fillet Mignon and it was superb. As someone who cooks extensively, I am often not impressed when we go out to eat. The food is usually just... mediocre. I enjoyed every bite of my meal at Indigo Grill and the portion was so generous I even took home a doggie-bag for the next day! My husband had the Rib-eye Special and if my food hadn't been so amazing I would have stolen his! The ambiance was way too loud, but we were in the patio this time, so it was not as bad as other times. The only bummer was that it was raining and there were leaks so my coat got soaked and it was freezing! But as far as the meal goes, it was excellent and I will definitely come back and recommend!

Favored gathering spot
Reserved a table, but not needed on Thursday night. Cozy spot, trendy drinks, lots of colorful plates. Atomsphere was warm and comfortable, clean, casual dining room with room to maneuver. We were able to sit and enjoy ourselves from appetizer through post dinner. Food presentation was focal point of menu centered around Latin flare. Staff was aware we were hungry and thirsty, but also wanted to relax and chat.

Restaurant week dinner.
We had a great dinner during our restaurant week visit. The 3 course menu was a great value, the servings were very plentiful and the service fantastic. We visit the Indigo Grill whenever we get a chance. We always have a wonderful dinner.
Gooddate night spot
Food is great. Good spot for a datenight appetizers were pretty tasty. Churros were very Good. Loved the sauces that came with it. Waitress was pretty quick with our wait time. She was very accommodating. I will defiantly come back

Best drink in all of San Diego - the white vodka sangria! Service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach. Shared some great appetizers including a delicious Queso Fundido, soft tacos (jalapeño crispy chicken were the best) and shared the skirt steak as a meal. Did I mention the white vodka sangria!?
Indigo Grill 3 for 30
Best food of a week of dining out in San Diego. Food was incredibly fresh, appearance was creative, pairings inventive, and each of the three courses was almost more than you could eat! Service was also exceptional.
