About IL Mito Enoteca
"IL MITO Enoteca was born from my passion for a local restaurant comparable to those I frequented in Italy - a comfortable home away from home, where you can sip a great glass of wine, complemented by an incredible, rustic Italian cuisine.
The Cuisine of an Enoteca is the simplest of Italian cuisines, made with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients that create amazing, complex rustic flavor combinations. Our Enoteca Style menu features homemade pastas, insalati (salads) Piatti Piccoli (small plates), Formaggi (cheeses), Bruschetta, Pizza and Secondi Rustica. It was created so that you may have a big meal with friends and family, or a light snack with your wine.
We at IL MITO Enoteca are grateful for your interest in our passion for food, friends, and life. We look forward to serving you soon and getting you addicted to an unforgettable experience!"

My husband took me out to Il Mito for my birthday and we were both delighted with our spacious table near the window, delicious apps, salads and entree (gourmet lasagna), and impeccable service from Luis. We have enjoyed this Tosa location for years and hope to be back soon!
I had such a wonderful time
You must try this lovely little rustic restaurant. The food was delightful, so well prepared with such care to make sure it was nice and hot. The flavors were just magnificent! The split pea soup was memorable. The kale salad was delicious. Overall, I can't wait to go back.
Food was excellent! Service with Cesar was perfect. Enjoyed the evening very much! We will be back! Thanks!😊

Obnoxious loud characters at bar, other 5 stars without question. Exquisite sauces. well priced 3 for $30.
We have been to Il Mito a couple of times and have had a pleasurable dining experience. The food is good and there are a lot of different options to choose from. The service is always outstanding. My only complaint is that their red marinera sauce is overly salty! This was especially noticeable as part of the lasagna. If not for this would rate a 5.

Il Mito is a local favorite. The staff is excellent and attentive to its patrons. The menu is appropriately variable to satisfy every pallet and also appropriately simple. There is something available for everyone. Conversations are easy and the ambiance is rich. Try it ... you'll like it.

I visited for dinner and for lunch in the same week. It's not the same experience at lunch. Food was not as good as at dinner and service was slower. Highly recommend Il Mito at night when they're on their A game for sure!
Our "Go-to" Place!
To celebrate my birthday, my wife and I went to Il Mito for a quiet weeknight dinner. We've been here many times over the past few years, and are never disappointed! A glass of Cabernet, some warm bread dipped in garlic olive oil, a Caesar salad, and spaghetti bolognase, - perfection!

I've never seen homemade hand-cut gluten free pasta at a restaurant yet and Il Mito sets the bar! Amazing, gourmet quality meal and many GF options you don't normally have at Italian restaurants.
Great food and very reasonable prices. We hadn't been to Il Mito in a while, and decided to go to celebrate our anniversary. We weren't disappointed.

The restaurant is always great. Outstanding service only surpassed by the food.
love this place!
We consistently enjoy amazing food, excellent wait staff and lots of fun here. One of our favorite restaurants in Milwaukee!
I had been to il mito several times for lunch but had not been there for dinner in years . The meal was fantastic and very enjoyable. I highly recommend as the jewel of Tosa.

Was able to get in on late notice on a Friday night for dinner with my wife. We each had one of the specials (one fish and one meat) and really enjoyed the flavors and the presentation. Our waiter was great - was able to be a bit jovial while still serious about doing his job. While the tables are a little tightly packed, we were able to enjoy a pleasant meal with good conversation without a problem. We were slightly disappointed by the mint-chip gelato we split for dessert, as the mint flavor was more of a spearmint taste than we anticipated - not terrible, but a little off-putting. We always enjoy eating here and look forward to returning soon.
Four of us visited Il Mito on a Tuesday night. The place was busy so we were thankful to have reservations. The diverse menu is what made us chose this restaurant - it has a lot going for it. Each of us ordered a main entrée after sharing a small plate. The person who had the turkey parmesan said it was wonderful. The rest of us found our meat tough/chewy. The special of the night was duck and it was hard to cut and chewy. The Risotto with short ribs was just ok and again, the meat was chewy. The veil marsala had a smoky flavor (like something in the pan had burned) and the meat was tough to cut.
Service terrible and forgot wine and was rushed and suckeddddddddddddddddddddddddd
Our server was exceptional!! Very polite and professional!
Awesome food and experience as always. Restaurant was full on sat night so we were seated in the demo kitchen area, which is a little quieter and more intimate. Chef feker stopped by our table. We inquired about tomato soup he used to have on menu at restraunt at 2nd and Virginia, but hasn't been on this menu. He made a special batch just for us on the spot. It was great!

The restaurant is small but makes up for it with service and food! LOVED the garlic oil and bread! Staff were friendly and professional.
Valentine' s Day dinner at Il Mito
My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day last Sunday night with a terrific dinner. We arrived on time, and the maitre d' quickly led us to our table. Within a minute, our server came and introduced himself. The restaurant was warm and cozy (great since it was a snowy, blustery night outside). We both ordered linguine with seafood--plentiful shrimp, scallops, and mussels in a delicious garlicky sauce. We also shared a green salad (huge--it would have been enough for three people).
We have been coming here for years and it has always been a great place with good service and great food. We will be back.
Fiance and I went for an early valentines day dinner and had a great meal. I had never been to Il Mito before despite living in the area. I was really surprised at the menu and how great everything looked. Our food was amazing and we had a nice night. My only complaint was the service. It wasn't totally unpleasant, it was just a busy night and it felt rushed and almost like we were inconveniencing the waitress. I get not every night is going to be sunshine and unicorns but it was special occasion for us and the service we received was far from special. Overall I would say this place is great and would go back. It's a little pricier than your average meal but it's perfect for special occasion.
Il Mito still a good place
I hadn't been to Il Mito in quite a few years but it continues to be a nice place to eat. Took my significant other there for a nice dinner out on a Thursday night. It was not busy at all (we were conveniently ahead of the upcoming valentine's weekend rush) so we had very attentive service. My experience in the past had been the same in terms of service. Food is good, wine selection OK, service is solid. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good Italian meal.
Very impressed with both the service and the food! Great ambiance!
5 star dining experience without the dress code
I absolutely love this place. The service here is always incredible and the food is never anything short of awe inspiring. My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary and have been back several times just for a "date night". The atmosphere is fantastic and it is upscale in experience but not uptight in its over all feel.
Did not feel welcome
The server suggested two tapas that had the same sauce and seasoning only difference was the vegetable it had. He did not spend much time with us. I was dissappointed in the food and the service. The eggplant was not cooked enough and was raw. The hostess was not welcoming.
Nice option for Date Night
Nice option for a special date night. Food was really good. Atmosphere was nice, but tables were extremely close together, could have easily reached over and ate off of neighbors' plate. Little pricier than most places I have been, but the quality was well worth it.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner.

Not impressed. Food was not as good as it used to be. It was late... 9:30, they weren't that busy, but still had to wait a long time for our pizza, our bill, etc. Another thing that bothered me is that the wines by the glass did not tell you which vineyard, etc.... Just listed chardonnay, pinot noir, ..... That just screams cheap to me. What are you afraid of? Your patrons should know what they are ordering. I can't see us going back anytime soon
Last-minte reservation worked out fine. Shared several dishes with my family, and when our server found out it was my birthday, we were treated to dessert! We're planning on returning soon...parking is a little bit of a challenge but even street parking down the block wasn't too inconvenient. Food & service were on-point. Overall a GREAT experience.
Slipped a bit
My wife and I love this spot a few times a year for date night - the perfect location and romantic ambiance. This time the outstanding service was still there - sorry to say the quality and flavor of the food has slipped - hope it returns - we'll give it another shot before writing them off.
We took a couple clients there for an appreciation dinner - just 4 of us total. We had heard great things and had high expectations, but mostly the place was a let down. The service was fair at best, the wine choices were not very inspiring and the food was so-so, some of it delivered cold and sent right back.
Not as good as it used to be.
My pet peeve is when a server asks "Are you still working on that?" I expect that at a greasy spoon, but never at Il Mito. The last two times I have eaten here I have ben asked that. There has been a decline in the quality of the food in the last year. I know that the Bolgnese is still wonderful, but my salad was so overdressed it was soggy and the sauce on my lamb shanks was mediocre. My "roasted" cauliflower was raw (despite having some brown colored spots on the florets). I don't plan on going back.
always love this place
went for my birthday with 2 friends. service was great, our waiter was adorable. the food was unbelievable and they treated me to desert because it was my birthday.
Great choices, a must to back too try more. They were very professional and polite. We will be back.
Il Mito is our favorite restaurant. No matter when we go the food is excellent. We have never ordered anything we didn't love. The quality of food is far above other restaurants and the service is always great. This is must go to restaurant!
Always First Rate.
The food is special no matter how many times you visit, never disappointed.
