Historic Revere Tavern Ratings and Reviews
First Time Visit
Above expectations. Food was presented and prepared perfect. Drinks were reasonable, we are definitely going to use this as our go-to restaurant in the Lancaster area.
A gem in the heart of Lancaster!
In addition to great food and service, the atmosphere was perfect.
Great food, service and ambiance; reasonable prices; highly recommend.

The atmosphere was great and food was very good. Our service was second to none.
We love the Revere Tavern and make a point to dine there whenever we are in town. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Historic location is neat
Good for history buffs and a neat house. Food was slightly better than average; service was good.
Surpassed my expectations
Everything was very nice. One thing could have been improved. The mashed potatoes. Very little flavor and they were cold.
.. Nice Place
I have been coming and reccommending this resturant for 30 years.. This will be my last trip.. I had to send my appitizer back it was cold portabella mushroom with crab.. My new york strip so full of fat. Our friends first visit chicken cheasapeak.. a very small amt of crab on top and salmon and pasta not hot. we did not complaine just will not return. I m sorry things have changed. It was noisey and our waitress was over whelmed in our room to many large tables. We travel an hour and half to get there and was so disappointed. I will say I have had many good meals there but something has changed. Use to be my very favorite resturant.. we dont mind spending 100.00 dollars for a meal for two but not this time.. Sorry for the negitive review.. Cindy
don't get steaks or mashed potoes
We sent back two steak dinners. Could not even cut the steaks. Mash potatoes were left uneating. No baked potatoes. Sorry we picked this place.
Quality of food
We enjoyed the dinner with our children. The ambience was great. The food was good except my daughter's dinner was cold. The waitress took the meal off the bill but it was a shame my daughter did not get to enjoy it. We have been to the tavern on four different occasion and this is the first time I can actually say I was a little disappointed. We have always raved about the ambience and food to our friends and family. I am sure we will visit again.
We were visiting from out of town for the first time. The décor was very nice but they were having a large party that night and apparently that affected the food and service. The waitress was very friendly but it took several minutes to get drink orders and for our food to arrive. My father's potato and vegetable were cold and the prime rib extremely fatty. He sent the meal back. The 2nd steak was the same. The manager offered to take it off the bill. The two tables near us were also complaining about scallops not being cooked thoroughly, etc. It must have been a "bad night" for them but we spent almost $200 for 4 people - we won't go back.
Great Historic Tavern
We come to the area of the country twice a year and always stay at the Best Western so we can walk over and eat at the Revere Tavern. Food is always delicious whether you have the crab cakes, lamb chops or beef. Wish I had room for dessert because the Crème Brulee is fabulous.
Great dining experience
I love going here, the food is excellent! The restaurant is beautiful if you like historical buildings, with its fireplaces and interior stone walls.
Other than the ambiance, we were in a stone walled room with a fireplace, this restaurant was rather disappointing. There was nothing special about the entrees. The stuffed shrimp was better than average but the pasta seafood entree was tiny although tasty. Wouldn't recommend or go back.
This place was great very nice, friendly, romantic environment , great food all around a excellent place loved it .Thank you will come again !
The food is presented nicely, taste even better and is cooked to ordered. Wait staff is friendly, courteous, they even take great pictures. Whenever we are in town, this is a must stop!
Over all the dinning experience was great. I recommend the food. The shrimp cocktail and onion soup was great. We had a chicken and beef dish and both were fine. It was cold in the room we were in probably because they only opened a half an hour before we arrived. My only dislike was the house salad. It seemed to me that the greens and tomatoes were old and dried up. I would return again and I just hope the salad improves.
Great Food, Great Staff Just Very Nice Time
Chose Revere for a Valentine Date. We arrived early and went to the bar. The Bar is a little small but nice and the service was timely and pleasant. We were seated at our requested reservation time. We both had the crab stuffed portabella mushroom and caesar salad. The main course was filet mignon with crab stuffed shrimp or seared scallops. Both were excellent and the waitress very friendly, attentive and efficient. This was my first trip to Revere and will go back.
My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for 20yrs a least once a year from Staten Island NY for either our anniversary in November or Valentine's Day. It's our favorite food is always excellent. We always bring fiends and family with us.
Very romantic and quiet. Service was outstanding
We had their special appetizer...fried green tomatoes and it was delish. For dinner we had the filet which was prepared perfectly to our likings.
Great Location for dinner and a show
Since we had tickets to a show at American Music Theater we made a reservation before the show. We liked being able to sit near a fireplace on a cold winter evening. The food was delicious and the waitress was very attentive. We appreciated the additional server filling the water glass and taking away dishes. The coffee was very good and so was the chocolate cake. All in all a lovely experience.
We tried this restaurant on on our way to a concert. They were very busy for a Wednesday nite. The service was great, the food was exceptional. Nice selection. Fireplaces were going, just perfect. We will be back.

Very nice evening. Great food and nice atmosphere. This was for my mother's 85th birthday and she was treated with a cupcake and singing of Happy Birthday. A great night to remember.
great quiet place!
enjoyed everything! top shelf! the waitress went out of her way to be helpful and always paying attention to whatever we asked.
Off Night at the Tavern
I ate at the Revere Tavern a few years ago and loved it but last night must have been an off night since tings were not quite as good as my last visit. Made reservations and we were seated immediately. Very nice setting as usual but the food was average at best. My beef tip medallions were not up to my standard and my wife's chicken pasta was also not the best. Service was ok but asked for coffee during the meal and never got it until the end when I asked again. The Revere Tavern was not the same excellent experience I had on my last visit. I may try again but it may take awhile.

We had a really nice night with the family. The food was great but we were there for more than 3 hours. It was a nice relaxing dinner but it just seemed like things took a little too long.
A gem in the heart of farm country
The menu selections were simple yet elegant. You can find some rare items such as snapping turtle soup I understand they are well known for. I tried the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were delicious. The salmon was also very good. All that and the prices were very reasonable as well and the service was great, too.
At least the crab cakes are still good.
I've been here many times before, but the quality of the food has gone down hill tremendously. What I used to recommend to others as "the best around" now tastes more like bad diner food. Our steaks never came out right (even after two tries), and the mashed potatoes (which used to be delicious) tasted like a box. And what's up with that weird salty gravy on the filet? It's not working. I had high expectations from past experiences and was embarrassed to have invited friends to join us this time. I actually hope our experience was an anomaly or that this is a known issue and changes are being made. For now, I'm in no hurry to go back and I imagine I'm not alone.
Good menu choices, good food, good ambience, good service
A late reservation on a major holiday must be a bad combination for Revere. I loved the fact that we were dinning in such a historic setting, but the waitress must have been tired as she could have cared less about her service to us. The food was well below par, and appeared to have been warmed up rather than freshly prepared. The attention to detail in food preparation was also missing. Rather than an unforgettable experience, unfortunately it was fully forgettable.
Food was just ok service was ok
Food was just ok service was fine was not overly joyed by it
Great for adults and kids as well
A very charming atmosphere. Excellent service and food was very good. We were with a large extended family group. We particularly appreciated that there were upscale entrees and drinks for the adults and a really nice kids menu with the expected basics as well as some more upscale items like a petite filet with fries. Finally, great desserts, but HUGE so plan to share.
come and see for yourself,
Great food and nice place to go, have been there many times and still have a good time.
First time in : 3 years that I had a bad meal the waitress wasn't very friendly and in a hurry she never asked me to check my steak to see if it was done right it wasn't cooked right it was over cooked and very tough I couldn't Chew it and it had no taste I was. Very Disappointed I didn't eat it only a bite or two there were different things on the menu than what was on the menu on line I come to the are twice a year and look forward to dinning in your restaurant don't think I'll be back again after my bad experience

lovely atmosphere, great food. waitress was really sweet. Only thing that was odd was that she brought our salads before our appetizers. But, we were hungry, so it was ok!

Great food! Couldn't be more pleased. Danielle was our server. She was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. We live in the city the trip was worth it!! 😊👍
Paul Revere Tavern is a historic site which provides excellent food with a historic quiet setting. Service is prompt and pleasant, have been here before and will return a couple times per year.
Food was very good. Service could be better. Small things were over looked filling drinks, had to ask for butter for rolls multiple times. But over all vist was good
Nice place, steaks could be better.
Celebrated my 23 yr olds birthday, which was handled very nicely. Calamari was well cooked but not as flavorful as I prefer. Steaks were perfectly cooked but both had quite a bit of gristle. Very cool space, that was as quiet as you would expect on a Sunday. Service was very solid.
My husband ordered fried shrimp and they were very dark ,overcooked. The manager came over and said she would redo. Same vey dark and tough. Chef came out and would not admit that shrimp and French fries should be golden brown not dark brown. His next comment was that your wife seems to have enjoyed her meal, which was true, but not relevant to the situation. We have been coming here for over 5 years on our annual trip to Amish country but unfortunately this was our last visit.
