6TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY DINNER BUFFET CELEBRATION
THE PRIME RIB WAS PERFECTLY FLAVORED AND COOKED. THE AMBIANCE WAS RELAXED WITH BEAUTIFUL LIVE LOCAL MUSIC ALONG WITH SCENERY OF THE OCEAN. THE WAITSTAFF WERE VERY ATTENTIVE. THE STAFF EVEN PREPARED A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY MUD PIE FREE OF CHARGE AS A PLEASANT SURPRISE. TO SUMMARIZE, THE FOOD, THE AMBIANCE, AND MOST ESPECIALLY, THE SERVICE WAS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!

Lobster was okay. Not too meaty. Very little value for the money. Service was very good. Very little options. It's hotel food.

Great staff and always a nice time out with the family. The food is very good for the price!
Great Prime Rib!
The food was plentiful and very tasty. We were disappointed to not get our normal server (as we had requested). The server that we had this time was much less attentive then our normal one. Next time, will insist on our normal server!

Another great night
An annual event for us that continues to impress with great good and our favorite waiter, Michael on top of his game . Very enjoyable evening . A special thank you to Michael who always makes us feel like rock stars .
Excellent to Celebrate a 12th Birthday
Took the family to celebrate my 12 year old daughters birthday, she loved the roast beef and fruits. Her 10 year old sister loved the roast beef and crabs. My wife & I loved the restaurant and try to visit when ever we can.
Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet
The food was very good but became loud after the music started. Pricey but for a special evening like Christmas Eve it was fun and the poolside/Oceanside location was wonderful.
Outdoor dinning with a view of the sunset
Lovely outdoor area in this restaurant, but no longer tables on the patio. My friend liked her fish dish and I had chicken. Full service bar.

Was first to be seated for dinner. Stuck us in back away from view or cool breeze. Ordered right away but food didn't come until almost 1 hr later - they said the pork belly was taking long. When finally arrived it looked like fancy bacon - how long does it take to make bacon?!!! To their credit - they comped the pork belly entree and desserts but overall was not a pleasant dinner. Server was nice - wasn't her fault
Hostess unwelcoming and did not provide wine list or direct us to buffet; food was sub-par; waitress was friendly, however too many tables so service a bit slow; while we submitted our parking stub for validation nothing was done with the ticket and we had to pay the full amount to exit. Will not return.
Had Thanksgiving dinner there on our last night on the Island. Previous reviews for dinner menu items looked good, so we booked. We were not warned that they were only doing buffet for that evening. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous, but the food was a total let down. The Ham was dry, not sure whether it was prime rib or roast beef, the shrimp was soggy. The buffet was not kept well stocked at all times, if there was something that you wanted, you needed to wait a bit for them to re-stock. The couple at the table next to us was a bit shocked by their bill...and then ours came...$200 for two people for a mediocre buffet and one drink each (it included an 18% gratuity built in...on a BUFFET!!). For that kind of money, we would have been better off at one of the restaurants at the Four Seasons...

The main course food was excellent. My glass stayed empty a couple of times and when refilled was not really up to par for our first Shirley temple that we first received. The refills were not made at the bar like the first but a pitcher filled with sprite. For 70 per person plus forced gratuity I expected more. The deserts were ok but not memorable. For a special meal I was somewhat disappointed. I love Marriott and stay at them when I can. Their service and attention to detail is usually spot on but this fell flat.
We send all of our friends and family to the Marriott for their Wednesday night Lobster when they go to the Big Island. This was our fourth or fifth visit over the last few years, and we have never been disappointed in the food, the service, or the sunset. You can't beat $24 lobster. The lobster is Maine Lobster raised in Kona.
The buffet wasn't anything special
We went for the Friday night prime rib and crab leg buffet. The food was okay but not particularly memorable. The buffet itself is crammed into a small corner of the restaurant and does not have an extensive selection - except of desserts, all of which are in miniature portions that are good for sampling a variety. The prime rib was good, except for one slice that my wife found to be tough. We felt we got what was advertised and what we paid for, but it was not something we'd do again.
Great atmosphere, good food.
Food was good, not great. View was beautiful. We later ate breakfast here and the buffet was wonderful other than the failure to replenish items.
Awesome food and a great location, will be back soon. Only request is a seafood dish on the hot line would have out it over the top other than that just awesome!
One of our favorite restaurants in Kona
We try to go here every time we are in Kona. It's our special night out during our vacation. We happened to go on the weekend, so the buffet was up. We usually don't order the buffet, because there's too much food. But we decided to go for it this time. Everything was delicious. The prime rib was excellent and the lobster bisque was to die for. The waitress was really nice and made sure we had everything we wanted.
We all had Keahole lobster with our own sides-asparagus, Hamakua mushroom risotto with italian sausage, and onion rings. We also had a guava daiquiri. Martini, and a lava flow. The food and drinks were delicious and the sunset was stunning. The only turn off was the hand wipes, which left a horrible smell on our hands. Otherwise, it was a great meal and setting.

Since this Resort/restaurant is so close to my home I always enjoy my time here . The food and the ambience is always great . The Staff is always so friendly and it feels like home . I am blessed that this property which included Crab Buffets and Luaus has something for everyone . Very Blessed that everything is always so enjoyable including breathtaking sunsets !
High prices, food just ok.
Friday buffet was disappointing. Prime rib lacking in flavor. Even the desserts were not great. Pudding flavor (vanilla?)was hard to identify. Cracked crab was not cracked. At almost $50 per person, not much to recommend it. However, ambience of restaurant (open to the air and overlooking the beach) is worth taking in. I would suggest the lounge menu instead.
Great Saturday night buffet.
Friendly wait staff. Excellent buffet. The prime rib had a great flavor.
We had the buffet with prime rib and snow crab which was the main draw. The rest of the selections were few. The prime rib was a little overdone and tough. The snow crab was delicious. Service was mediocre, we waited 30 minutes for our bill which never came, so I hunted down the server who promptly ignored me for 4 minutes while carrying on a conversation. Finally I had to interrupt to ask for our bill. Her reply was, "ok". 10 minutes later we got our bill. The time was 8:20pm. We went back to our room and settled down for the night, put our 2 year old to bed. At 9:40pm we were woken by two calls, once on my cell phone, hung up on, then on the room phone. It was our server asking if we left the bill because she couldn't locate it. She asked for my permission to re-charge the meal. We checked out the next morning and saw that we were double charged for with different amounts. A note about our room, "Garden View" does not necessarily mean garden view. Our view was a concrete rooftop with a view of puddling moss.
Enjoyed our meal!
The food was good and service was great. I highly reccommend.
Good choice to dine & watch a sunset
We have dined here many times over the years and usually found the restaurant to be good except for the service. Well it seems they have picked up their game. The service for our table and surrounding tabled was close to excellent. Combine that with choices like fresh snow crabs, prime rib in the buffet and you have a pretty good night. As always a very nice spot to watch the sun melt into the Pacific ocean.
Crab legs were as good as ever. Its to bad they raised the kamaaina price $5.00.
Amazing food and location
Loved this place! View was beautiful, service was outstanding, and the food was excellent! Will definitely go back when I return to the big island.

we always stay at Waikoloa Marriott when we are on the big island and always have dinner at Hawaii calls beautiful setting on the ocean - great food - ambience is fabulous - waiters are great -- call it a perfect evening
A favorite in Waikoloa
We come here every year. The daily specials are great, the view is beautiful. Sometimes the service is slow, but they are always accomidating. We had a group of 16 this time and the service was excellant. I love sitting on the outside and watching the sunset. We went on a Sunday night and there was a crab buffet. Excellant. Don't go if you're in a hurry, but if you have time to sit and enjoy the view and the atmosphere, this is the place to be.
A Great Gift
I took my hanai grandpa and uncle to a Father's day dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Though pricy, it was worth it, and they are still Thanuking me days later. Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere. We will be returning as soon as possible.
Wednesday Night Whole Lobster Special $24!
My husband, 17 year old son and I went to Hawaii Calls Restaurant for their $24 whole lobster special! Wow, beyond words, over the top delicious! It is a whole lobster, a large whole lobster cooked perfectly. The lobster does not come with sides but we ordered a Fresh Greens Salad and the Fresh Locally Grown Sauteed Mushrooms. My son ordered a side of Coconut Risotto. For desert we ordered the Mauna Kea Mud Pie. This was the best mud pie I have personally ever tasted. I would go back just to have a bite of that heavenly coffee flavored ice cream with oreo cookie dough crust drizzed in dark chocolate/carmel again. I am pretty sure I was humming when I took each bite of this amazing desert. All very fresh and tasty. Heads up: We went at 6:30PM and sat at a table with a large ocean view. We were able to watch the sunset through the palm studded beach as well as the Luau. As it got darker, we were able to see the "Fire" twirling portion of the luau performance from our seats. The music of the luau as well as the luau itself was just an added bonus to our dining experience. The whole dining experience was surreal and we will for sure go back on Wednesday nights for their lobster special.
Sunday evening Prime Rib/Crab Leg Buffet
If you love crab and prime rib, the Sunday evening buffet is a great value (especially for Hawaii). The crab legs were yummy and plentiful. The prime rib was also yummy. They also offered a stir fry option. The only thing I was disappointed by was the selection of sides. They offered rice (white and brown), potatoes, and a mixed veggie. I would like to see more side dish options, but the crab more than made up for the limited sides. The service was absolutely wonderful! We will go back next time we are staying in Waikoloa.
Great food, great service.
We stayed at the Marriott and ate at the restaurant almost every night. The weekend Buffett was great!
Decent brunch buffett
We came here for Mother's Day brunch and overall we though it was just okay. Some of the food selections were very tasty, but it seemed very hit-or-miss. Overall selection was pretty good and probably the tastiest part of the meal was the choices of dessert. The view of the ocean was very nice and was the highlight of this visit. Service though was pretty bad and the automatic gratuity added to the bill was semi-insulting. We probably won't be coming back to this establishment again for brunch.

the buffet line was pretty small but so good. I hate huuuuge buffets that look really cool but when it comes down to it, the food is mediocre. but this food was amazing! the prime rib was probably the best I've ever had, super well seasoned and rare throughout. I got an end piece that had all the flavor without it being rock hard! for those who like it more done they have a station where they an fry it for you a little more I'm allergic to crab, but my boyfriend got three plates, and they use real butter. the desserts were probably my favorite, small selection again but very well executed. it is open air and near the pool so I see how it could get loud if there are a lot of ppl at the pool but it was nice for us. don't forget to say hi to the Marriott cat.
We came for the Paniolo meal and our fish entree was undercooked and blah. Expected a bit more than self serve buffet.
All you can eat crab leg buffet on Sunday's!
This is the restaurant for the Marriott at Waikoloa Beach, so it was convenient as we were staying here. We decided to try them for our Sunday dinner due to the all you can eat crab legs buffet which featured mahi mahi, chicken & prime rib as other offerings than the crab. All were great, but let's face it, the crab is why you're here. Outdoor dining on the sundown side of the resort, so it can get hot depending on time of day.
Great breakfast buffet
We stayed in the hotel and took advantage of their wonderful breakfast buffet several times. There was something for everyone and the omelets were very good.
Great Easter Brunch
The Easter Brunch, with crab legs, prime rib, poke, and sashimi was a real treat. We ate bruch here twice....the regular brunch does not have the food diversity that many full service Marriott's have, but food is high quality and service is great. Views of the pool and ocean are sweet.
