Our server, Carlos was attentive and friendly. The food is consistently good. The hostess at the checkin counter was having a personal conversation with someone and the other two girls didn't look up to greet us.

HAD TO CHANGE SEATING

Dined on April 16, 2016

I MADE OUR RESERVATION FOR 6, FOUR DAYS PRIOR TO SATURDAY 04/16/16 TO CELEBRATE MY DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAY. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT YOUR STAFF WANTED TO GIVE US THE BOOTH NEXT TO THE BAND. WHAT THEY WERE THINKING????? WE ARE HISPANIC, AND MY HUSBAND AND I ENJOY SOME LATIN MUSIC, HOWEVER THE IDEA OF BEING WITH THAT LOUD MUSIC IN OUR EARS AND UNABLE TO EVEN TALK TO EACH OTHER WAS REALLY UPSETTING. I'D SINCERELY RECOMMEND YOU TO GET RID OF THAT BOOTH. NO ONE WANTED TO BE SAT THERE.

Came here for our six visit in over a year. Food is good, wait staff is nice, but can never figure out who is supposed to bring apps, vs main meal vs drinks. Also, drink menu is varied, but very little alcohol (I'm a light weight, so doesn't take much to get me buzzed!)

Poor service

Dined on April 15, 2016

My wife and I decided to eat here after work for a Friday evening date night. It was a last minute decision to eat here. She was in the mood for Cuban food and hoped it would be as great as Gloria Estefan's Cuban restaurant she ate at in Florida. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close. We made reservations on Open Table before arriving because it was Friday and I thought they would be crowded. They were not crowded at all and had plenty of available tables when we arrived. Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted and seated. My main complaint was with our waitress. She seemed friendly but we only saw her three times- when she took our order, when my wife ordered another drink that never arrived, and when she brought the check. My wife & I each ordered appetizers. Mine arrived but not her appetizer. She also ordered a second drink that never arrived. When the check came, both the second drink and her undelivered appetizer were on it. It was removed when we informed the waitress and she apologized but it could have been avoided had she periodically checked in on us like she was supposed to do. Needless to say, we will not be returning there for our Cuban food. We really wanted to like this place since it's close to home and we dine out so often. The food was just okay and the service was severely lacking though.

Just Ok

Dined on March 12, 2016

Food was fair, not as good as last time we dined there, requested that we be placed in room that did not have band, that room was cramped and didn't look like a nice resturant, we were being bumped into by waitstaff, when we were brought to a table, it was 1 chair short (something that should have been corrected prior to us being brought to it (reservation for 4), service was not great - waited a long time between drinks. Probably would not go back.

food was ok, not really tasty, drinks was good, the band came on at 8pm, which was too early and too loud, we could not have a conversation, after finishing our dinner we left immediately. i think the band should maybe start-up 9 or after, by that time dinner is finished and if you want to party it would be nice to stay on

Amazing Cuban Cuisine!

Dined on February 21, 2016

My husband and I took my father and stepmother there for brunch this past weekend (my husband and I have been here before and insisted they try it). My dad really wanted a Cuban sandwich, which wasn't on the brunch menu. Our waiter had it made for him! The food was excellent and their signature Mojito was delicious. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant!

Excellent Time with my Valentine

Dined on February 14, 2016

We had a great time for Valentines Day. We never even bother leaving the house on Valentine's day but I received an email a few days before from Open Table saying there were still some reservation slots open, so I grabbed on because I thought it would be nice for hubby and I to get out for a change. It worked out nicely, we were seated within ten minutes since we had a reservation. Food and service was great. We really enjoyed ourselves, especially after a couple of pitchers of our favorite Passion Fruit mojitos. All in all a great evening.

Mama's In the Kitchen

Dined on February 14, 2016

This was the second time I've been to the restaurant, first alone and then with my wife. It did not disappoint! I had the Lechon Asado (roast pork or Pernil) and both times it was outstanding! When you go you'll notice there is no salt or pepper on the tables, as they're not needed. The Mojitos are great, with a piece of sugar cane in them (a nice touch), though when we went on Valentine's Day they had run out. My wife is a red sauce Italian restaurant eater, and even she was impressed with the food. The wait-staff is terrific, even when the place is jumping! Desserts were great, I had the Flan and my wife had chocolate empanadas with ice cream. If you are a lover of Cuban food, you must go here. And there's live music after eight!

Went for lunch with my department

Dined on January 28, 2016

The food is good, the ambiance is very nice but the wait service was terrible. They had one waiter serving all of the lunch tables that we could see. It wasn't very crowded and I imagine that they are trying to save money, but that's not the way. The waiter was obviously stressed, his smiles were fake and he always had one foot stepping away when he would respond to our waving him over. Both the owner and the visiting chef came to our table and I'm sure it was to impress us but they have the issue wrong. It's the service.

Delicious and enjoyable. Tried it on a Friday night, and they have a live spanish band and a dance floor, if you're up for it. unfortunately being attrached to the mall, it doesn't get as much attraction from a foodie/someone looking for a beautiful place to eat. But if you're willing to look past that, the ambiance is great, sevice just as good and food worth trying! Def recommended and will be back!

Cuban Brunch

Dined on January 17, 2016

Made a last minute reservation for 2 for Sunday brunch at this place at the advice of a friend who had raved about their Happy Hour. Our reservation was for 1:30 and we were seated right away. For a Sun afternoon brunch, I noted several open tables which made me wonder if I really a reservation. There was a live band playing at the front of the restaurant- volume was a little too high for my liking. My friend and I had to speak loudly to hear each other despite the fact that we were across from each other. We started off with two classic Mojitos that were refreshing + potent! We split the Empanada Trio appetizer (Beef Picadillo, Shrimp Sofrito, and Chicken Sofrito). The empanada crust was warm with just the right hint of crispiness and the filling was moist, tender, and hot. For entrees, I got the Huevos con Churrascos (steak and eggs) while my friend had the Huevos Santiaguero (Cuban Eggs Florentine). The steak and eggs were served with rice and an AMAZING green sauce (I think it was chimichurri?) which I put on ecerything. I wish they sold bottles of the stuff! The Cuban Eggs Florentine was a twist on eggs Benedict and came with perfectly seasoned potatoes. Truthfully, the only minor annoyance we had during this meal was the speed of service. Our waiter was very polite but disappeared for a considerable amount of time (> 20 mins) between when she first took our drink orders to when she became back with the drinks. I know because we sat down at 1:30 and brunch ended at 2 p.m. and I was getting antsy that we wouldn't be able to order off the brunch menu. When she brought our drinks she said "I'll be back in just a second" and while obviously we weren't expecting it to be a literal second, it was still a considerable time before she took our food orders. We had another longer than usual wait to pay our bill. Again, not the biggest deal and my friend and I were okay to sit and chat, but it was still a very noticeable flaw in an otherwise delicious experience.

Great Food- Poor Service

Dined on January 16, 2016

My husband and I decided to dine at Havana Central for our Wedding Anniversary. The biggest plus is that we were seated very close to our reservation time. I appreciate promptness and keeping close to reservation times. A server came to us right away to take a drink order stating that the another server would take the remainder of our orders. We noticed right away that our table did not have a full setting. There were no linen napkins. That did not bother us much since there were plenty of disposable napkins to use. We did not get water at the table. Our drinks came after about 20 minutes of waiting. The server explained that the original set up fell and they had to create it again. We understood. Appetizers and Food came out about 10 minutes and 30 minutes after we ordered. Fair. I had asked for white rice and received Yellow- not a big deal to me- but it wasn't what I ordered. The manager noticed how long things were taking and checked on us twice. The server only took our order - brought our drinks and brought the check. The manager brought a dessert menu to us and got a bus boy to clear our table. I think service could have been quicker. We didn't make a fuss because it was obvious that the server was overwhelmed- he may have had too many tables and it was a Saturday night. We did thoroughly enjoy the music and the food- so it did not ruin our night. :)

Great experience with party of 7 + 2 infants

Dined on January 9, 2016

We attended Havana on a Friday night which seems to be a busy night for them. This place seems like both a good place for romantic or group setting however we showed up with twin infants and the waitress made our experience the most accommodating with kids. All of the workers were very nice came up to see the twins and say hi we were a big party and our food came out in sufficient time I definitely recommend for anyone kids or not.
