Korean BBQ on top of the world.
Wonderful dishes an amazing staff and remarkable ambiance make this spot an absolute winner. Even on a hazy day the views were spectacular only to be elevated by great Korean BBQ.
Views are worth a visit alone!
I love Korean food but even if you think you don't, trust me. You'll love it. amazing beef and chicken and shrimp-something for even picky eaters. and really great apps. The views are incredible from every window and even if you don't get a window seat it's still great.

Great restaurant, awesome bolgogi, good service and fantastic views. A very good evening.
View to kill
Really nice place with great food, atmosphere and a view to kill. Located on the 39th floor and all the skyscrapers around.
Beautiful view.. upscale Korean.. Prix Fixe menu
A bit nicer in ambiance than the traditional Koreatown restaurant.. the view is amazing. The Prix Fixe menu kept it a bit more affordable, however still pricey. Service was impeccable. The food was good and the best part is that it's ventilated very well, so you don't walk out smelling of BBQ.
Nice view - mediocre value
The view was excellent . The restaurant seemed a bit dated but the general ambiance was nice. The hostesses were a bit up themselves and seemed to be think this restaurant was the be all end all. The waiter was good and responsive. The food was good and surprisingly filling. I had read reviews that the portions were too small. Overall, I think a better meal could have been had down on street level for less price but if you want the view, then go here.

Gaonnuri was amazing once again. Our server, Alex Houston, was excellent. He took very good care of me and my friends. He was knowledgeable, quick and very helpful with our food selection. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat. Great food- more upscale Korean experience.
Nice place with ambience
We found this place via Google and TripAdvisor We had the chicken and pork for BBQ and a salmon gui Service was very good except at the last stretch where two of the waiters got confused over which meat to BBQ which I guess was a honest mistake Ambience was fantastic The BBQ meat was definitely above average although the chicken was a tad hard The salmon gui was fantastic (we had it well-done)
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, very nice staff
We went here for my wife's 40th birthday. They gave us a great seat with an amazing view. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. We had a blast and the dessert, some snickers creation, was insane.
Great spot for elegant dining and excellent food. The views evoke old world manhattan. Killer cocktail list.

We came here for my boyfriends birthday and I do not regret it one bit! The restaurant is very modern and upscale. Even the outside of the building looks very modern and beautiful. The view of the city at night was breathtaking. And the food.. Outstanding. Never had anything like it before. It was so flavorful, definitely recommend this place and definitely coming back next chance we get!

Atmosphere was great with the sky view.Food was alright, cost was more than we would pay for good Korean food.Service was good.So if you want to impress any tourist,I guessed this will be the place.
The best Korean restaurant in NYC
We enjoy this restaurant every time we visit. It is an authentic, high quality Korean restaurant with a great view. We had both lunches and dinners, and their food is always consistent. We especially appreciate unlike many Asian restaurants they don't use any MSG, and one can taste every dish is prepared with great care by a fantastic chef. Their Kimchee is also the best! Highly recommended.
K-Town with a View
- Great view and ambiance. - Servings are delicious, but on the small side (especially for the price). However, after dinner we weren't left overly stuffed. - My guests were there for the first time so I requested the best view in the house. They gave us a corner with a wrap around view of NYC - thanks so much!
The first thing to let me like there is the amazing view. The foods look good & taste good. The good restaurant to take u friend for meeting or family party.
Amazing view only found in a few spots in the city
The view is what you come here for, it is well worth it. It is amazing and getting a window seat is highly recommended. You get a great view of midtown and beyond, and the service is pretty good here. They're attentive and try to accommodate as well. However, as great as all of this is, the food is just good, not great. There are better Korean bbq spots in the city, such as Bann and my personal favorite, Gyu-Kaku, which are also a whole lot cheaper. However, for the views and the presentation and service alone, I'd recommend this space for a special occasion.
the food was somewhat authentic
i chose it for the views. it was highend for sure. food was good.
Good energy, good food, good everything
The second you hear about Gaonnuri, you're probably impressed. I mean it doesn't really get better than Korean food on the 39th floor penthouse overlooking all over midtown Manhattan. I think going there, it is key to order the table barbecue where you can share your food with the group and get a bunch of incredible sides. Certainly if it is in your budget, getting more food than you can probably eat is the best move. Also, if that wasn't enough, it was my friends birthday and they gave us a free dessert on the house with a candle to celebrate. 10/10

Awesome, the view it really amazing and the employees really help make the experience even better.
Lovely view that we didn't get to see.
We received a recommendation that this restaurant not only had good food but also a great view. After I made the reservation I called to request a window table and they said it was no problem. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that they did not have a window table for us and that those tables needed to be reserved weeks before. The food was pretty good but a bit overpriced. We have had just as good if not better Korean food at small local eateries. Since we were visiting NYC from out of town we were looking forward to a dining experience that included good food and a special atmosphere...including a good view of the city.
Gem for BBQ
If you want a cool restaurant experience with the same great BBQ that you find in the rest of Koreatown, this is the place. Views of the city, comfortable seating, architectually strong and the bbq is first rate, especially the marinates. Service was friendly and attentive. Pay a little more, get a whole lot more.
Fun for a special occasion
We brought friends and our teenage daughters here for lunch, as they adore all things Korean. The views are lovely, and I'm sure even better at night. The wait staff got friendlier as the meal progressed (one waiter was in training). If they had been a bit more engaging at the beginning, we probably would've ordered a greater variety of food. The spicy black cod Jorim was very good, and the octopus bokkeum was exceptional. I was disappointed that the prix fixe lunch offering required all at the table to partake, since getting 6 people to agree to eat the same 2 items for a special occasion meal is a bit counterproductive, so we just let everyone order their preference from the menu instead. The deconstructed soo jeong kwa was stunning and enjoyed also. One caveat, my request for cream for my coffee went unfulfilled. A minor issue, but since the restaurant was nearly empty, completely unnecessary. All in all, the food was of very good quality, and portions were better than we expected. We would recommend.
Raised prices, less food
I have been eating at Gaonnuri for over four years now. The service has been progressively worse ( waited 15 minutes just to get water). This last time we went it wasn't super crowded yet finding a server was like finding a unicorn. Furthermore the menu prices have risen drastically and the side dishes that you get with every order have become less. For the amount of money I spend it's definitely not worth it. If you've never been there before it's a great experience for the scenic veiw, but if your regular or have been there before like me you will be disappointed.

Ambiance was nice, bar staff friendly and knowledgeable. Dinner was good, very small portions, sides were bigger than main dishes, tasty and expensive. Did not do bbq, sampler diner and pre fixed dinners. Wait staff could be more knowledgeable or versitile about their dishes, it seemed as if some of them were bothered by the questiond asked, about the food, gave minimal information, kind of an unwilling explanation.

Our waitress was very helpful and knowledgable. Great experience and great food!
Great view and food!
Everything was great - table side service as well as the view. Only complaint is we had a 730 reservation but were not sat until 8. Very accommodating with request for seat near the window
Soup and all dishes were cold, wine was bad because it seems that the bottle was opened many days ago. Dessert was a muffin with ice cream....not good at all. Nothing worth for the price.
Delicious with a great view.
Came here for Valentine's Day and the food was delicious, except because it was a set 8-course dinner set, the food took forever and we had to rush them in order to get the dishes coming at a decent pace. I would go back, but not for a special occasion, I think.
Amazing 32nd floor views
This restaurant was amazing. I had the best appetizers (noodles and dumpling soup) and had the full size rice for an entree. My boyfriend and I got the table barbeque for 2 which was an experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEN D!!!
Delicious but expensive
The food is amazing. We absolutely loved every dish and wished we could have ordered more. That said, it was very expensive. We were charged for a garish in our drinks - even ice! $4 for ice (actually itemized that way on the bill). It's really a great spot, but be prepared to splurge!!

Great view and dining room. Food was ok but bland, which is particularly surprising for Korean food. But the atmosphere is definitely worth the visit.
Everything from the cuisine, to the wine, to the ambiance and view was exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and cannot wait to go back.
Beautiful Restaurant with a View
Both myself and date got the three course option which was excellent. Healthy sized portions for both the entree and the appetizer. Desert left a little to be desired with the size but it was an excellent medley of chocolate, vanilla, berries and nuts. We were very lucky to get to enjoy a fireworks display in downtown Manhattan while inside the restaurant which was amazing. Definitely would recommend anyone check this place out for a special occasion.
