The food was delicious! Not so much a buffet, but rather opportunities to visit separate food stations such as raclette with charcuterie, soup and salad, meats (veal stew is amazing served over rösti potatoes) and dessert. Service was friendly and efficient. I have no one but myself to blame for eating too much.
Fabulous, as always!
From the raclette fireplace to the chocolate fondue fireplace and everything in between, it can't be beat. This is an annual tradition for my husband and me and we are never disappointed. Be sure to make reservations well in advance to avoid driving all the way up there and be disappointed. We will be back next season! Keep up the great job!

Excellent experience - 5 star all the way, a place that is as classy as the DV resort itself. Will visit again
Cozy, warm and yummy
Fireside Dining at Deer Valley is a real treat. The food, service and ambiance are just what you would wish for to cap off a wonderful day on the slopes. The large fireplaces and dim lighting create a casual, cozy and festive feeling and the fondues, soups, stews and carved meats are delicious. The only downside it that it's a bit pricey and you may walk away feeling very stuffed. So pace yourself and enjoy a very special evening.
A Unique Dining Experience
Enjoy dining in a unique way. The staff is extremely cordial and attentive. Dine at a relaxing pace to be able to experience all the offerings in a setting unlike any other.

Utah skiing dinner
This was a recommendation from a friend as a must do! The experience is awesome. The food was very good, lots of choices that one might not try at a traditional sit down dinner. Small bites are welcome and almost needed to get to all the stations! The dessert is a must, don't cheat yourself on this one!
Lovely dining experience
We had a delicious meal at Fireside that filled us to the brim with many food options. The food (especially the Venison) and variety was great and while we brought a bottle of wine for our family with no corkage fee, our friends purchased drinks and they were quite pricey. (Combined with the $63/person meal and 20% auto tip added). Service was nice, plates were quickly cleared, but it is a buffet and at times it was a little congested when moving around. We had 3 birthdays in our group and each received a large, lovely dessert. We had just eaten the dessert course so had to get those 'to go' as we were all stuffed. All in all, we enjoyed the dinner and ambiance and would recommend as a unique one time experience.

Awesome meal. We did the horse drawn sleigh as well about half way through the meal before dessert. Would definitely come back.
This has morphed into a poor food value
The Fireside Dinner has been good food in the past but the value plummets. Food value, in my view is, is defined by quality and cost. The same food as the price rises disproportionately to general costs becomes a poor value. Great food deserves higher cost. This venue has become excessively priced for what is a glorified cafeteria line due to the very expensive extras.
Wonderful dinner option
Fantastic food and service. The ambiance was perfect. Left feeling stuffed! So many great options!
Wish had a bigger stomach
Every dish was Gourmet, Even the side dishes like the pickled beets. The cheese plate went back 2x for. And the meats and fish were outstanding. The service was impeccable. The ambience was beautiful w the deer valley resort and the lighted evergreen trees visible outside.
We all loved it
We ate there on the first night of our five day ski outing to Deer Valley and it held up as the best one of the bunch. It's unique and provides excellent quality/value. They need to expand their wine list a bit but what we had was just fine. There were eight of us and everyone had their own particular favorite. Mine was the lamb, but we all agreed that the chocolate was a highlight.
One of the best dining experiences in Park City.
Our group of 10 loved it! We've been coming to Park City for years and this is easily a favorite. Everything was on point - the food, the service, the wine, the views, etc... Leave room for the sweets!!

What an amazing experience. The buffet style fine dining was not what I expected but the food was amazing. I most liked the set menu format with a dine at your pace feel.
Fireside was very good but it is a buffet style and sometimes the lines were a bit long. The first course is the raclette style cheese course--it was very tasty and you could try many different sides. The second course included a salad which unfortunately had the dressing on it which left it a little wilted after being out for some time. The third course was beef, veal and fish all were very good--especially good were the "Rosti" potatoes. The lamb was next and that was a bit undercooked for my liking and also a bit fatty. My favorite course was dessert--you could choose to try dark or white melted chocolate to dip a wide variety of sweets (such as bananas, pineapple, strawberries, cookies). Ask to be seated in one of the dining rooms--we initially were seated right along the aisle--it was drafty and everyone was walking past us.
Nice but not worth the expense
This was a recommendation from our resort and I'm glad I experienced the restaurant but for the cost and options I won't return. The ambiance isn't anything special - too bright and cafeteria style - and for the expense, "be prepared to eat heavy food."
Food great and and excellent varity. good service
Went with a family of five including two children. They were on their own and enjoyed the variety. The variety of food was excellent and if you enjoyed one dish you are able to go back for more. The service was outstanding and the waiters were very attentive. Will go back again

It was a very unusual and quite enjoyable experience. A very friendly ambiance and staff to explain the way everything is organized. Loved it all.
Fantastic dining experience
Delicious food and a fun, totally unique dining experience. I would highly recommend Fireside for any occasion. All four of our guests were equally impressed. In this case, it's worth over-eating to try everything being served, including dessert.
What a fun evening!
The food is excellent, starting with the raclette course with all the fixings. Second course of salad and soup, then on to the veal stew, Utah trout, elk short ribs and potatoes. Nex course was roast leg of lamb with fixing, and on to dessert table with various hot dips (chocolate, caramel, and white chocolate). Very good food, and a nice variety. Just don't eat too much! The wine list is extensive, but very expensive. You can bring your own bottle and just pay the corkage fee and you'll save about 50%. They also offer a variety of specialty drinks, but if you're not from here, watch out for the Utah pours (minimal alcohol!).
Always an incredible evening at Fireside! Management and staff over the top. Food incredible. No other restaurant like it in the world!!!!
Fireside Dining Review - 2/5/2015
Had an excellent experience last Friday night. One of our party had Gluten Free needs and they handled this very well. Would recommend this experience!
Not just dinner - it's an experience
During ski season this is a must-do dinner and my husband and I return every year. Reservations are a MUST so book very early (before arriving in town) because it is only open 3 nights a week - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Everything about the experience is top notch. The food is delicious and the menu changes weekly and sometimes nightly. The staples are the 2 raclette cheese fireplaces, the lamb fireplace and the dessert fireplace (think melted chocolate). Other dishes change such as the soups and salad and also the the fireplace that serves the rosti potatoes, stews and fish. The whole experience is a delight to your taste buds and you will not leave hungry or disappointed.
Excellent food in the mountains.
Empire Lodge is converted into a restaurant at night with several stations of delicious food. Lamb, Raclette, various stews, various salads and a yummy fondue dessert station. The night we were there it was storming and you could see the snow coming down through the huge bay windows as lights from the lodge highlighted the snow. It was the perfect place for our girls' trip dinner.
Fireside dining is a very unique experience. With 4 buffet tables and 4 fireplaces each with a different food experience, it is something truly unique. The melted cheese melted from a round near the fireplace onto a plate is probably the best part of the meal. The restaurant is set at the top of Deer Valley in a beautiful setting. We have taken 2 of our kids and their spouses here as a Christmas gift for the last three years. It is something we all look forward to.
I rarely write reviews but Fireside Dining should not be missed. We come to Deer Valley often and we always reserve one night to dine here. The atmosphere is fantastic. It is hard to imagine how they turn this lodge from the casual afternoon ski dining into a romantic winter wonderland several nights a week. We have never been disappointed. Do yourself a favor and have dinner here.
The food was awesome. It is helpful to make a reservation. I called because I was arriving late but was seated promptly. The ambiance is pretty cool and service was impeccable.
The food was good, however the stew was way to salty. I couldn't eat it. I over heard other guests commenting on salt content.

The ambiance is amazing. Looking out at the snow, sleigh rides going by and the slopes being groomed. All the food is fantastic. I think my favorite is the raclette. The cheese melting onto plates and all the accoutrements that go along. Also the fire place roasted lamb and the fondue desserts rate right at the top too. The service was perfect. Will go back to Fireside Dining soon!
Unique Mountain Dining
Deer Valley converts the Empire "cafeteria" into fine dining in the evenings for an unforgettable experience. Two tips: (1) there is a lot of food, so arrive hungry, and (2) there is free corkage on your first bottle of wine, so bring a bottle.
amazing service with SOME really good food.
Fireside Dining did not disappoint! Went there with a pair of couples for dinner on sunday jan 3 for an end of vacation dinner! The service was amazing! The food was really good (some items) and just ok for others. The cheese wasnt very melted but still yummy (especially with strawberry compote). Short ribs were great (tasting) but not cooked long enough to be fall apart tender.....should never need a knife for short ribs.... Lamb was tasty! Soups were tasty! Dessert was tasty! Overall good but not perfect experience!
Fireside Dining Delight
Delightful Alpine style dining with most of the cooking done by large fireplaces in different rooms. Quite charming and tasty too.
Our group booked a night snowshoe excursion through Jans which was an amazing experience. We snowshoed straight into the parking lot of Fireside where the staff was more than gracious to hold a change of clothes for us. It was a perfect atmosphere to have dinner in after working up a huge appetite. Most of the food was amazing but not all of it...lots of choices though so everyone should be happy.
The perfect spot for a special evening
We sent our daughter and her husband here for a Christmas present, and they LOVED it! They enjoyed the amazing and creative food, they loved the ambiance, and they appreciated the personal service and attention to detail that they received. We have dined here several times and always loved it. We thought that it was a perfect Christmas gift, which included babysitting :-) We'll make this an annual gift!
Special dining experience in Deer Valley
We love this restaurant. When we visit Park City during the winter we make it a point to come here for diner. Make sure to make a reservation! We haven't experienced any other restaurant like this one; there are five large stone fireplaces all ablaze and each is a food station. The food is very good, it has a lovely atmosphere and it's different. We think it's fun and would recommend it to anyone.
Great ambiance and food
The location is somewhat secluded up in a mountain and beautiful to drive up to it. The restaurant had a beautiful ambiance with great food options. It was great to watch them cooking by the big fires. The service was by far the best thing about our visit with our server going above and beyond to make sure as a gluten free diner that all my needs were met. She was amazing! (I wouldn't bother with the wagon ride as it was $35 plus tip for quite literally a 5 min ride in a circle - if they perhaps went on a bit more of a walk it would have made the evening perfect but that was very disappointing being aussies experiencing our first white christmas)
Park City's best Dining Experience
As a Park City local, Fireside Dining is, without a doubt, my favorite dining spot. This is the place that I return to winter after winter when friends come into town. It is the perfect place for a hearty and healthy winter meal with great views, wonderful ambiance and even horse drawn sleigh rides. Everything on the menu, from racket, to leg of lamb, to veal and mushroom soup, to salads, to cauliflower/cheese puree is absolutely delicious. The staff is professional. The service is top drawer. Everything is quality. If traveling to Park City, this is a number 1 must do.
