Feeney's Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
new place to eat
Feeney's was a pleasant surprise for my wife and I. Food was better than just good very friendly staff, the owner and previous owner stopped by to talk to us more than once beverage prices very reasonable looking forward to eating at the bar
I almost didn't go in...
I chose Feeney's to meet with a family that were all clients for dinner and a short individual meeting with each branch of the family. There were nine of us in total. I am from out of town and was going by the ratings listed on OnTable. When I arrived at the restaurant, I almost drove on down the street to find something else quickly. It turned out that my clients were already waiting on me inside. We decided to make the best of it. I have to tell you, I'm glad we did. The staff made us feel most welcome and put us in a semi-private room that they were able to not use the other tables until the very end of our dinner and conversation. The service was excellent, the appetizers and food were very good, and we had a very nice meal. Don't let the location or the outside appearance sway you - they have both seen their better days, but the care of the staff and the food from the kitchen more than made up for appearances.
If I had to pick a gem for Feeney's, I would select a diamond based on my experience. A business friend and I were staying at the Squaw Peak Hilton - looking for a local restaurant. Glad I found Feeney's. The friendly service was non-stop the entire evening. My work friend and I enjoyed the prime rib and teriyaki sirloin. Tenderloin and Toast Point appetizer was wonderful, as were the twice baked potatoes to go with our steaks. Lots of craft beers to choose from and a full liquor bar. The bar was as busy as the restaurant was and it appeared that they did serve dinner there. Just fantastic food with fantastic service.

This place encapsulates everything good about grassroots family-owned dinning. Amazing service, awesome food, very cool atmosphere. Total pride and ownership from the family, at point. Prime Rib was thick and plentious, way I like 'em! ;) salad bar was very good. Great experience all around.

From the minute we walked in the restaurant we were met and welcomed. They seated us right away in a cute private area and we're waited on continously by one member of staff or another. All us in our party enjoyed our food, including the flaming cheese! Will definitely go back. They have a really great inviting and cozy environment. Parking can be a bit challenging but we lucked out and all parked in the front.
St Patrick's Day
Crazy, busy place, good corned beef, can't expect much when the place is over-run with beer drinking diners in green shirts. the staff did a good job of feeding us folks there for the food!
Special Occasion Destination
Feeney's is made up of several small dining areas which makes for an intimate atmosphere. The lamb chops and filet mignon were expertly prepared and the sirloin with jumbo shrimp is a very hearty portion. The Manhattan clam chowder was a treat as it's not found on many Phoenix menus. We received excellent service throughout the night. Our server asked questions, made recommendations and helped to make our son's 21st birthday a memorable night.

We are here on vacation and decided to try a local place . We were not disappointed! The staff was tremendous! They felt like family by the time we left. The menu had a great variety. The chicken Marsala and Chicken Picatta were excellent. The meal also included a salad bar and a side. I highly recommend the double baked potato and the veggies were very tasty. Feeneys is a neighborhood gem and we will definitely go back whenever we are in Phoenix.
great neighborhood find
You may just drive by the location nesseled in beside a circle k, in a residential neighborhood. We arrived and were promptly greeted by an older gentleman, who appeared to be the owner. He was friendly and chatty in a very "welcome to my house for dinner" kind of way. My date and I both had steaks and enjoyed the mud pie. We were very pleased and will absolutely be back!

Four of us had outstanding meals, the service was just as fantastic. Made you feel like home or being together with old friends. Would definitely return and highly recommend this place.
Service was fast and efficient. Baked potato was cold and butter wouldn't even melt. We were seated near the cooks and the smell of deep fryer was overpowering.
Boyfriend and I went for Valentines Day. We had the Prime Rib and Lobster Tail combo. It was my first time ever having Lobster Tail and it was fantastic! The prime rib was amazing too, perfectly medium rare. Wine was great. Service was attentive and kind. 10/10

The food was really good, the service was really good. I scored it a little because we did not know that there was a fixed menu on Valentine's Day. We had people in our group who don't make a lot of money, and they were a little embarrassed that they could not order just a hamburger or some of the other appetizers.

Food was fantastic but service was poor except for the busser. We were sat with no menus. Waited 10 mins before finally getting attention of a man we later found out was our server to ask for menus. We had to ask for a drinks and after food was dropped off we only saw him once. We had to ask for our check by flagging down who we believe was the owner.
Amazing food, and staff, Owner was outstanding
Took the wife for Valentines. We went for the Beef Wellington but it wasn't on the special V-day menu. The waiter said he would make sure it was served. As we saw the other food rolling out it seemed impressive. Our food came out and OMG delicious. Turns out the waiter was actually the owner of this hole in the wall style, gem of a restaurant. He took very good care of us and we have recommended it to friends all over.
My wife can be hard to please. She gave it a 10/10
Her steak was cooked to perfection. I took her there so that we could try their beef Wellington, sadly it was not on the menu that night. We will most definitely go back to try it! Filet mignon was absolutely delicious! She advised me it was one of her all time favorite dinners.
OK, but old fashioned
There was really nothing all that bad about Feeney's, but it was like restaurants I remember from the 1970's and 80's. Looked like a converted Steak and Ale. Lots of separate small rooms. The food was OK, but nothing special. The bread was AWFUL! There's just no excuse, in this day and age, in Phoenix, to serve bad bread. My prime rib was fine. The service was friendly. But the place really needs to be refreshed.
Delicious and accommodating
The interior is rustic which was nice since we wanted a good meal without having to dress up for the occasion. We made a special trip for the beef Wellington which my boyfriend says is the best steak he has ever had! I ordered the prime rib which was also amazing. The horseradish sauce was spectacular. The service matched the food. Wait staff were constantly refilling our waters and taking away finished plates as a joint effort instead of waiting for one server the whole time. One of the owners (at least we are pretty sure she was) was there. When she found out it was my boyfriend's birthday, she insisted on giving us our money back for the dessert since we had already paid. We politely declined, but she was persistent and offered us whatever she could to make up for the "mistake." We felt very special and cared for. I highly recommend this place. You get a lot of food for the money, it's cooked great, and the servers are very accommodating.
Wonderful experience with kind and courteous service and terrific food complemented by a quaint and intimate atmosphere. Outstanding
I went there for the Beef Wellington..
I searched for a place to satisfy my craving for a Beef Wellington - this place did not disappoint! We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon entering. Within 30 seconds, we had water, bread and a very warm set of "Hellos". Service was amazing, food was very good, salad bar was good - I do think it was a tad expensive however. But we'll be back anyhow. Very unique menu and full bar, too.
great little place
my experience was outstanding, they provided us with great service followed by delicious food. I had the beef Wellington and was very happy, the meat was cooked perfect and was so tender and we'll seasoned. my wife had the filet medallions in gorgonzola sauce which was delicious as well. the service was so great and friendly we even got hugs on our way out. we will definitely be back!

Came to Feeney's for a special birthday dinner. The staff was great, very welcoming. Food was excellent, came out of kitchen in a timely manner. I ordered the filet mignon, and it melted in my mouth, delicious!
What a find this was! The rustic interior was designed and created by the owner -- romantic and homey. The service was excellent for our crowd of 11. Attentive! The food was delicious -- there's something on the menu for everyone. Loved it!
Great neighborhood restaurant.
Nice little place with that great neighborhood charm. The food was outstanding and they have a salad bar.
Awesome, eclectic environment.
Very friendly and attentive staff. We had the half rack of ribs (special on Thursdays), which were extremely tender and basically fell off of the bone. My girlfriend ordered the homemade cheesecake and talked about it for like, two days. Very special. Would definitely go back there again... it was quite fun for our party of four. The interior is quite novel and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Your feel at home at Feeney's...and they cook!
We visited Feeney's with friends and really like the quaint, rustic/old world building and intimate yet efficient & genuinely friendly staff. The salad bar had just enough and everything was very fresh. The menu is extensive and all of us order different meals. We ate slowly. A bite. A sip of wine. A bite... The wait staff and food where much nicer then family and funny too. :-0
Outstanding service, good food
This neighborhood restaurant has been around forever. Their service is outstanding - very friendly and attentive. The food is not fancy, but excellent quality and well prepared. The salmon was perfectly prepared. Enjoy the salad bar. Not many restaurants have a salad bar any more. Good, fresh ingredients.
Still Great after all these years!
My wife (back them my girlfriend) and I have been enjoying Feeney’s for over 30 years. For some reason it had been about 15+ years since we were back (we had moved to Chandler). The place is still special! Great food, service and ambiance. VERY reasonable prices, good wine last and fantastic beer selection. We are already planning to return again and again. The nostalgia was running rampant. Back in the day, as they say, tennis at The Pointe (now a Hilton), jogging and biking on the cannels and cocktails and dinner at Feeney’s. Where does the time go?
Great food and Service
We dined here for the 1st time and were extremely happy that we found what will be our favorite place. It felt like coming home but to a home where a chef lived and takes pride in preparing fantastic meals.
Don't be fooled
Don't be fooled by the exterior or the laundry next door. The food is surprisingly good and the staff is very nice.
Average Food, Good Service
Feeney's is an old school restaurant with a good bar. Diverse menu. Dinners come with either the salad bar or soup. The salad bar has about 10 items including, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, pepperocini peppers, cottage cheese, etc and the choice of 3 dressings. It is all you can eat which is nice. Had chicken marsala which was average. Also ordered the shepherd's pie which was made greek style (instead of Irish) because they put cinnamon and cloves in the meat. That's a Greek thing. I ate it but didn't enjoy it as much as I would if it were made Irish style. Great service, lots of attention. They aim to please. Prices are very reasonable for what you get.
The locals love it
When we pulled in to the parking lot, I was a little reluctant to go in. It's definitely a neighborhood place and the outside is a little run down. But don't be put off by that. The food is great, the owner and wait staff are friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back again.
I had a very nice dinner at Feeney's the other night. It can not be described as "high end". However, the salad bar was well stocked and fresh, our meals were served hot (or cold as required). The food was great without a lot of fussiness... Great place for an intimate meal as the restaurant is cool, and a bit on the dark side lightwise. Prices were reasonable, the staff was helpful without being intrusive. All in all, a great neighborhood restaurant that is great for a bit of a splurge on a weeknight, or having a good well seasoned steak to start off the weekend right!
Fun and delicious evening
We liked everything we ate. Service was very good. Waiter comped us a slice of mud pie (pretty good) to make up for a dish that came out late. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Others in my group said they felt like they were eating somewhere other than Phoenix.
First of all I ordered the rib eye. I have absolutely no complaints. It was seasoned perfectly and cooked just the way I asked. The salad bar has isn't huge, but still has many different items to choose from. The calamari was crunchy with a mild taste and oh so delicious. However, the reason I gave this 3 Stars in the food category is that my friend had ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese. At the end of our meal, he had barely touched it. I asked if he was going to take it home, because I thought he filled up on the delicious calamari and bread, but he said he didn't want to take it home. He said he didn't like it. I asked if I could take it home, because I simply don't believe in throwing food away. So when I got it home, I told my son he could have it. He also said there was something wrong with it. He said it tasted like it had cinnamon in it. So, I tasted it, and it did. I think that's an odd ingredient for spaghetti. I had once cooked spaghetti and intended to use ground cumin in the sauce which is normal for that type of sauce, but instead I accidentally put ground cinnamon in it. I hadn't looked at the label closely. Now whenever I go to grab the ground cumin, I double check it. I wonder if this is what happened to that spaghetti that evening.
Where everyone knows your name
You can't do better than the owner greeting you at the door! I didn't sit at the bar but everyone that did, Judy introduced them to everyone else . Not a big place but the food was awesome! Thanks to Judy for making a traveler feel like she had lived there all her life.
Needs a serious update. Dark, dingy and smelly.
I didn't make it past the appetizer to know if the food was any good. Ambience was unacceptable!!
Just So So
I'm sorry to say but we don't think the prime rib was all that good - cooked perfectly but no flavor. The twiced baked potato was very good though.
Been around for ever!!!
Great neighborhood place with lots or regulators. Great steak & chicken with a perfect salad bar.
Central Phoenix Gem
Feeney's is a nice little family owned restaurant in Central Phoenix. I couldn't believe how nice and helpful everyone who worked there was. From the moment I walked in I was taken good care of. Great steaks, prime rib, chicken etc. I had the prime rib which they are known for and it was excellent. Everything includes soup or their nice salad bar. Who doesn't love an old fashioned salad bar? They have nightly specials as well. You could tell that a lot of regulars go there as the staff knew almost everyone who walked in. Great place and very good prices. I will return!
