With the reopening of the new Fairview Dining Room, our Area Executive Chef Troy Stauffer and his imaginative culinary team have introduced a new Fall menu, perfectly complementing the elevated look and feel of the space. All of our dishes would have been great except for saltiness. Loved the fried oyster starter. NY strip steak was excellent. The scallops were just a tad too salty and the salmon was very salty. Service was great. Dining room nicely decorated. Room temp was quite low for me, I wish I had on a thicker sweater.

Reserved for Sunday brunch for 5 people to celebrate Fathers’s Day. The dining room was busy and appeared to be understaffed. We were greeted by our waiter Daniel and ordered drinks while we reviewed the menu. Our first round of drinks arrived a few minutes later, we ordered our meals. Two of our guests were executive club members and were using a “brunch for two certificate”. Daniel explained how that would work on one check. While waiting for our entrees 4 of us ordered a second drink. While delivering our second round Daniel accidentally spilled one of the drinks landing on our table and one of our guests. Daniel was very apologetic. We gave up our napkins to help clean up the mess and Daniel went to get something to clean up. Our entrees arrived immediately after the spill and the wet guest went to the ladies room to clean up. We waited for her to return to eat so our meals cooled considerably. Eventually Daniel returned with more napkins and then shortly after a replacement drink. The food tasted great as usual. We asked for our check, Daniel explained what came off for the executive club. Daniel apologized again and gave us a complimentary “Happy Anniversary “ dessert. We paid the bill but only realized after we had left that we were charged not only for the spilled drink, but also its replacement. Overall the food was very good, but poor service and the overcharge is not the norm at the Washington Duke.

Excellent service, menu, and ambiance. Food was wonderful except for the turkey sausage which tasted like a soggy, salty, tasteless protein mass. Chicken and waffles and the Cornflake challah French Toast stole the show!

If you are looking for a great afternoon tea experience, this is a go to place. Great for afternoon catch up with a friend or group outing. Staff is friendly , good tea options and sumptuous platters.

The afternoon "high tea" was a wonderful way for my family to celebrate a high school graduation; everyone enjoyed their own personal pot of VERY tasty tea. The selection of scones, sandwiches/snacks and desserts was just the right amount of food. They were able to accommodate my severe gluten allergy, and even made a point of calling ahead of time to find out if anyone had any allergies. The gluten-free selections were absolutely delicious; for once I did not feel like I had to settle for second best.
