Ellerbe Fine Foods Ratings and Reviews
Not going back
short staffed on Professional Adminstrative Appreciation Day, Salad was wilted and the soup was such a small quantity, I have had larger samples. After an hour 1/2 lunch of soup and salad we left hungry.

Our first visit to Fort Worth. Unpretentious menu, a "farm to table" experience on par with what you'd expect in Napa Valley, NYC or similarly styled restaurants in Europe--but with a unique, Texas flair and unmistakeable "local flavor."

Food and service was excellent as always. We try to make it once a month.
The Ellerbe's evening was a first time ...
The Ellerbe's evening was a first time treat for an out of town family member. She was delightfully pleased with the waitstaff's introduction to the restaurant's history and menu selections. Our choices were unique, as usual, with freshness, seasoning and portion. I always look forward to dining there due to the menu changes - never a dull choice!
Haute quisine comfort food.
A well-balanced blend of upscale dining and down on the (not factory) farm. Friendly and very professional service, great food well presented. A solid choice for an ordinary dining out experience or special occasions.
I can't say enough about this restaurant. Went this past Saturday night with 4 of my dear girlfriends (we stayed in Fort Worth for the Art's Festival). A colleague of mine who lives in Fort Worth recommended Ellerby's, and I know why. Our waiter, Scot, was absolutely hysterical and so knowledgeable at the same time. He was fantastic. He made the food sound so good, that all 4 of us ordered different items so we could try more on the menu. All fantastic! Overall, and A+. Would recommend and go again.

We jad dinner at Ellerbe's 4/16/16 and they were just not on their game. Very surprised that our food was just average. Nothing special as we have experienced in the past. Mussels were in a bland champagne sauce that lacked the herbs and ingredients listed on menu. Not served with any side such as salad or bread for dipping. My husband had a baseball cut of steak that was a little tough for his liking. My dessert was delicious, a pot de creme that was everything I hoped for. My husband had the whiskey bread pudding that he found dry and tasteless. He described it as no more than a cinnamon roll. My husband loves bread pudding...his fav. The waiter mentioned about having to ask the sous chef something I requested. Just wondering if the chef was off and the sous chef was in charge. So disappointed!
Special Place off the beaten path
Eclectic menu with truly creative combinations. It's a bit pricey, but all the food is FRESH and prepared perfectly. Favorite part was dessert - The Bread Pudding was almost souffle like in texture - PHENOMENAL!! Least favorite - paying $13 FOR A SINGLE SLICE OF BREAD with some garlic and cheese on it. Delicious? Yes. Ridiculous price for portion - uh, yeah.

The food is eclectic and alsalso delicious. If you are looking for steak and potatos then this is not the place for you. However if you want seasonal fare and unique entrees you will love Ellerbe's.
Great neighborhood gem
Fabulous wine list and great food and service. Comfortable but classy. Everything is 5 star.
Great find on Magnolia
Ellerbe is definitely fine foods. The servers are very friendly and super knowledgable about the menu and wine. It is a little pricey and can't go there too often, but is definitely a treat.

We have celebrated my wife's birthday at Ellerbe for several years, and we never have been disappointed. Unique menu items, perfect execution and wonderful service. What's not to love?

2nd time great; 1st time veggie food not good.
Our first visit the vegetarian dish was horrible. The manager gave me a return certificate which we used for my birthday dinner. Everything was good the first time, except the foo. This time everything was great. I would tell people about it for a special date, but too expensive for regular dinning. Bad on names, but our waiter was very attentive and friendly.

Lunch for Six
We three couples met at Ellerbe's because two of us have had wonderful dinners there before. We met for lunch at my suggestion. One of the wives is a make-it-from-scratch cook, a connoisseur of great food. She LOVED her meal and dessert. We only take her to restaurants that we know will be excellent. We all completely enjoyed our meal and dessert. If you want great tasting food, here 'tis! I wish the cook, Molly McCook, had a cook book available. Maybe some day.
Ellberbe Team Dinner Review
The red fish was well liked by the four people that had it, the steak and mac & cheese were awesome. I think the only thing I would add to the menu would be appetizers, we ordered the rabbit and the fired oysters which were dinner portions because there really were not any appetizers to split for the table. The waiter Scott was very engaging and very funny. He made our dinner fun.

Great as usual! Bethany did a great job all evening. Texas Red Fish and the Portebello mushroom were excellent. Maw maw's bread pudding is always a hit......Very nice evening.
Lots of high notes!
After a beginning kerfuffle where the hostess forgot we were there we were led to a table with Brian as our waiter. We so enjoyed our conversations with Brian and all of the food that came next. The fried oysters and sweet potato soup appetizers were superb. The wild boar was so tender and the sauce had many layers of flavors. My friend from Shreveport had the Louisiana red fish with shrimp. It had that luscious Louisiana influence and since my friend hails from there she was pleased. We ended the meal with the bread pudding that was too one note for me and the pound cake with citrus and pomegranate seeds which was outstanding.
Girl's Night Out
Great Food. Great Service. Did not rush us --we had lots to catch up on. Thanks to all staff including the valet.
Still the One!
We recently dined at Ellerbee for my birthday as we are prone to do. This is our favorite Fort Worth Restaurant and it comes to mind for special occasions. The wild boar confit over smoke mesquite beans that my husband ordered was flavor over flavor over flavor and stunning. I got the water buffalo meatballs in Italian grave with manicotti and took more than half of it home, so generous was the portion. Everything was beyond delicious.
Typical Valentine's dinner
I love Ellerbe's. This is the 2nd time we have done the Valentines day dinner. Actually it was for my birthday which is Feb 13th and I wish restaurants would not celebrate the 13th as Valentines day also, I would rather eat of the regular menu. Food was good as usual. The 75.00 per person was stupid for what you get as well as 35.00 for the extra wine but I have grown to expect this for Valentines day.Tthe only thing I was disappointed in was the dessert. I could have eaten that at Luby's. Neither one was special and both desserts were very small. You would think on Valentines day the desserts would be more special. I will continue to eat there as it is one of my favorite restaurants but I don't think I will be back for Valentine's day.
Delicious meal and nice atmosphere!
We wanted a place for a fairly quiet early Valentine dinner. We were looking for quality food and nice atmosphere. We found both as well as excellent service. We had reservations and there was no waiting and a very short wait for our food! We loved it and have recommended the restaurant to others.
We had a great time. Food was delicious and our server was very helpful.

Everything was wonderful except the noisy party of ten. All the other tables had parties of two.
Ellerbe Fine Foods is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of the conservative/non-daring food scene in the Fort Worth area. Menu is interesting, execution is solid, servers are knowledgeable, and plates are well priced. Kudos to Chef McCook!
Still one of Fort Worth' sBEST!!!
Ellerbe's still is one of Fort Worth's top fine dinning places!!! Brain our server was really on top of everything. Outstanding fried Oyster's and chesses platter, Great Entree's and really good desert's with French press coffee. Hard to find anything better!!!!!

Delicious food, excellent service. Nice quiet spot for a date night! Wine list is concise but never disappoints
The service was the worst we have ever had.
The service was so deplorable that for the first time I wrote a personal email to the owner telling about the experience. The cashier gave me his business card. It has been almost 2 weeks and the email has not been acknowledged. To sum it up, we left after 1 hour and 15 min after ordering a menu listed sandwich and omelette, no drinks, just water.
Great food and service
The service was attentive, informative, and friendly. The food was delicious and the right portion. We had the redfish and wild boar. The wine list was unique but the beer selection was local and spot on.

I brought friends from out of town and they loved it. Our server was highly attentive and all of our food was delish. I had the red snapper with gigantic prawns. This is one of their signature dishes that stays on the menu. It was superb.
Courteous, attentive service.
The server was very attentive and cognizant that we were conducting a meeting. Food was excellent.
