The best

Dined on March 19, 2016

We've had meals at Duo regularly for nearly 4 years, have never been disappointed in the inventive and tasteful food presentations; and while restaurant is often crowded, service is always friendly and attentive. We would like to see red wine served at correct temps given the quality of wine and food, but have no other complaint. An exemplary culinary experience.

Duo is quaint with delicious food

Dined on March 18, 2016

Went to Duo for my partners birthday. I can't remember what he ordered but I will never forget my buffalo strip steak. Tender. Juicy. Delicious. Came with broccolini and au gratin potatoes. Both sides were well cooked and flavorful. The wine list is just a little sparse but my pinot noir was amazing. Service was a little taxed but not terrible. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable. You're going to pay handsomely to eat here. So make sure youre prepared. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Id sell my soul for that buffalo!

Quality of Food

The buffalo was tough. The Etouffee had no crawfish in it. Some of the small plates were really small for the price. Very small wine pouring.

Great Restaurant

Dined on March 12, 2016

Had dinner at Duo and it was a great experience--almost perfect. People at our table had buffalo, steelhead, duck and pork chops and all were prepared well, tasted incredible and were presented well. The wine list, although small, had a very good representation of various types of wines. So, although there may not be thirty Cabernet Sauvignons on the list the two or three they do have are of great quality. The only thing I have to quibble with was the service. Our waiter was goofy and a bit slow. Although we were his only table at the beginning, it took forever to get our orders. I don't like to be rushed, but a meal (drinks, apps, entree) that should have taken a leisurely hour and a half took a plodding two and a half hours. But while he was at our table he was friendly and even got a gift card I forgot put on our bill. So, the service from that one particular waiter was not bad, just a bit off. Still I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Lackluster Service

Dined on March 5, 2016

We went for Saturday brunch. The restaurant is lovely and the menu is great, but from the moment we walked in the door, the service left something to be desired. For our party of 4, 2 of us arrived right on time for the reservation. They refused to seat us until the entire party was there, despite the fact the restaurant was fairly empty. Had we sat at our table, I would have ordered drinks and apps, but they missed that opportunity. In general the hostesses seemed less than welcoming. Our server mumbled and never once smiled. We were seated right behind another table next to the kitchen even though, again, the restaurant was empty and there were lots of great tables by the windows. It felt like they just wanted to get us out of there and not be bothered. No matter how great a restaurants food and ambience are, if I feel like a second rate citizen, I probably won't be returning.

Yummy Restaurant Week Try

Dined on March 4, 2016

Duo was delicious! We went for their 5280 restaurant week deal and found it to be really good. They kept the restaurant week menu simple but well done without going cheap with the dishes offered. There were 6 of us and we found the atmosphere to be nice if a little loud. The service was okay, the server wasn't overly smiley, friendly or chatty or even very attentive; she was alright though and took our order and brought the food in a timely manner. I would not say that the service was amazing at all but at least it didn't hurt our opinion of the meal. The wine was very good and we tried two selections which we all agreed were both excellent if a little overpriced. It would have been nice if they had a couple of wines on special for restaurant week. I looked at the regular menu and the prices don't look bad for the quality. I would definitely go back to Duo.

Visited during Restaurant Week

Dined on March 3, 2016

Duo did a wonderful job, from a focused wine list to a great restaurant week menu. The combination of farm-to-table ingredients and balanced flavor made my trout dish one of the best preparations of trout I've ever had. It was a great choice to celebrate a good friend's new exciting job.

The presentation of the dishes were just lovely! It was restaurant week so we sampled the calamari, bean dip and endive salad. We all had the pork chop and thought it was cooked to perfection. Last but not least, I had the flourless chocolate torte which was divine! Great overall experience!

Restaurant Week Winner

Dined on February 27, 2016

Dined here with my SO during Restaurant Week 2016. Duo had far and away one of the most appealing menus of the different participating restaurants to begin with, and to our delight they also added special appetizer and entree items to the prix fixe menu which we happily took advantage of. All of the food was well prepared and delicious. My only criticism would be that the lamb osso buco could've used a veggie to balance all the meat and starch. Also one serving of the chocolate tort would probably be sufficient for two. The reception and service were both excellent. the light was maybe a bit much, but overall the atmosphere was pleasant. I love that I can order an espresso after dinner here. I've ordered off the regular menu once before. While everything was excellent on a normal night, it can get quite pricey with drinks, so Restaurant Week is a great value if you've been wanting to give Duo a try.

There is always something special at DUO

Dined on February 26, 2016

I have come to expect something unusual and delicious whenever I am able to dine at DUO. Last week was no exception. The duck and Lamb shank were cooked perfectly and the procession of spice and citric flavors that process on the palate were exquisite. The apple torte was simple yet exquisite with butter cookie pie crust and vanilla-sour cream ice cream. Whenever I am in Denver this is a must stop dining experience.

Two for Duo's Brunch

Dined on February 21, 2016

The food was overall excellent, and the ambiance was charming , if a little loud. The menu was innovative and I found a number of delicious options as a vegetarian. The only negative comment I have is that the coffee didn't come up to par with the other offerings... I like it dark and flavorful, and the French Press decaf did not fit the bill. Most notably, our waiter was utterly frank about the dishes, their sizes and relative taste and popularity. We like to share, and not all plates are created equal for sharing. Also, we ordered the vegan muffin, and it was cold on the inside... frozen, actually. It was still good and was thawing well enough, but the waiter insisted on bringing another one; this new one was brought out by the manager who apologized, comped the muffin, and checked back in with us several time. The customer service was excellent, and that brought an already excellent meal up another notch. We're looking forward to trying Duo's dinner menu.

Outstanding Food

Dined on February 20, 2016

We have visited Duo several times for brunch while returning from Breckenridge to Denver. Our party of six thinks the restaurant just gets better. Great drink menu and wine choices. Members of our party had the Sweet Sunday, the Cider Glazed Pork Benedict, the Zippy Cake, the Daily Omelet, the Buffalo Brisket Crock and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich. Everything was outstanding. The house made chips and the crispy potatoes were wonderful. Fresh, perfectly seasoned. Since one member of our party has to eat gluten-free, we were excited to learn that all but one menu item could be made this way. Our waitress was awesome. We'll be back again!

Dined on February 20, 2016

Duo was fantastic. The duck, bison and chicken were all cooked perfectly. The accompanying sauces and sides were spot on and made for 3 absolutely delicious meals. The noise level does increase as the restaurant fills up., but it is very energetic rather than being over powering. The service is also very good, but it's much more relaxed than other places in the area. Grab a couple of small plates, a nice bottle of wine and enjoy being with friends and family over a little longer meal experience. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations too. Our server was spot on with her suggestions. Highly recommended in an area that has a lot of great choices.

Duo Is a Great Sunday Meeting Place

vip
Dined on February 7, 2016

My wife and I were meeting a friend of ours for Brunch before going downtown to the theater. Duo was a great place to meet. Thank goodness we had made a reservation because on Sundays, at least for brunch, it is a busy, hopping place. I had the vegetarian entry which was delicious. My wife's bread pudding wasn't so great. But we enjoyed having Brunch at Duo and recommend it highly for its food and ambiance.
