Drago Centro Ratings and Reviews
I've been wanting to come to this restaurant for years and finally made it. We were extremely happy with our dinner, food was great and the vibe was nice. We will be coming back!

Everything was great. The only comment would be for our waiter next to wait for people to finish or pause a conversation before interrupting with order taking, questions , etc.
Not worth my crazy drive into downtown LA
I might feel differently if I worked downtown. While the service was wonderful, the food was just so-so.
Good dinner date
Food is good/filling. I wouldn't give it 5 stars but certainly tasty.
Great overall, but one hiccup
Everything was fantastic. You do pay for the atmosphere and brilliant food and it's deliciously worth it. What isn't worth it, is $14 of bottled water from Italy. Other than that sad $14, the night was great, staff to the food!
This was my second time at Drago Centro. First time everything was just outstanding, second time not so much.Service was not very good and it wasn't like they where overly busy.
excellent downtown Italian
Although the service at this lovely restaurant can be uneven, this time it was fabulous. The last time we dined at Drago Centro, which was only 2 weeks earlier, the first course arrived minutes after we ordered, but the wine did not arrive until after we finished our first course. And, despite the fact that we asked to have our second course delayed so we could savor our wine for a few minutes, the second course arrived instanteously, and with no apologies. However, the second time we went to Drago the time was perfect, and gracious. The food both times was excellent. The quail and the pea soup were especially delicious.
On the way to theater
The free shuttle to the music center and fairly reasonable parking validation draws us to this fine dining establishment. You can always count on an excellent meal. It can get very very noisy and that is unpleasant but comes with the benefits!~
2nd time, just as good
This was our second time at Drago Centro: last summer and now. Food was excellent, again. Handkerchief pasta with crab was delicious; needed a touch of salt and lemon to bring out full flavor. Octopus, kale ravioli and venison were all well-prepared. Service was attentive and gracious. All in all, a delightful meal.
Good food, a bit noisy
Brought my elderly father and his wife here for his birthday. A large venue with many rooms. A good selection on the menu and everyone could find something they liked. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, a good place but a bit noisy if you are looking for a quieter spot.
sometimes it is NOT about the food
the good; food was pretty good (white asp. risotto, sea bass, pasta, salads), our roman waiter was cordial and helpful, and the busboys were on top of it. room was crowded and loud but ok the bad; the hostess, both of them...cold, uninviting, distant, seated us late, no thanks for coming to the restaurant nor welcome on arrival. stuck on their computers. the bar; cocktail waitress not really know her stuff, and the bar sent out one drink which was not what was ordered. there are a lot of restaurants in LA, they should up their game to get people to return
Very good and excellent service
Very good food and excellent service- just what you want in a restaurant. Free valet parking.
Staff Meeting During Dining Hours
My colleague and I had a reservation for 5:00 and when we arrived at that time andapproached the desk we were told that we couldn't be seated yet because the wait staff was in a staff meeting. Strange. They asked us to sit in the bar. Since we had brought our own wine with us, we didn't have a drink at the bar. After we sat there for fifteen minutes, we went back to the desk and asked if we could be seated as my colleague had to leave by 7:00. We were seated then without any further ado, although we could see the staff in the private dining room still attending their meeting. Service was good, food was good - risotto! MMM. Still a strange welcoming experience.
Everything about the food seemed prepared far far in advance and then plated. The polpo contained more gnocchi than octopus, which seemed like the chef was pulling a fast one. The branzino didn't give any indication of having been cooked in a pan of any kind - no juice, no grease, no fishy anything. Our waiter was attentive.

We shared the Burrata fabulous, linguini pescatore and orachiette pasta outstanding
This was my second time going to Drago Centro and what a difference from my first experience. The first time the service was excellent, the courses were timed beautifully, and the food was delicious and interesting. This time the service was haphazard and sloppy, the courses were poorly timed ( e.g., the wait between appetizer plates being taken away and the mains being served was over 30 minutes, a wine pairing never came out), and food was not up to our expectations. Not that the food was bad, but the caliber was not equivalent to where it was a year ago. The desserts were excellent and helped end the meal on a higher note.
Just Fantastic, I would recommend the place highly
Definitely going back when I got more time. Great Menu to choose from and everyone was very attentive from the Waiters to the busboys.

Has a very pleasant business dinner last week. Service was prompt and courteous. Wine list is extensive but waiter was good helping navigate. Overall good experience.

absolutely nothing stands out. the most mediocre restaurant in LA. Not bad not good just there.
My husband and I dined on Saturday night. The tables for 2 are VERY close together. You can't even get into your chair without bumping your neighbor. If one of your neighbors has a loud voice or is very talkative it's hard to enjoy your dinner. Our server was rushed and was not friendly at all. Lastly, the food was very average. We will definitely not return.

You can never go wrong at Drago. Exceptional and service in peccable
Broad menu, with pleasant surprises
A great high energy place, with outstanding service and food. Good variety of Italian choices, with many beyond ordinary. And excellent "by the glass" wine list, with some choices you are seldom likely to find by the glass.
The location is fairly convenient to the music center. And the restaurant is lovely. Noise level was good
The Bartenders were not very attentive. Patricia
I used to go to the Drago on Wilshire and it was superv. I do not know if you are the same company or not, but I was very disappointed in the food and service.

They tried to seat us at a table directly in the sun which we declined and ended up partially in the sun. That part of the restaurant is an atrium and it was very warm. The food was fair but not rememberable and the service was slow.
High end yumminess
Went for a weeknight dinner and had a gracious and delicious evening. We started with a drink at the bar -- great breadsticks! -- and were able to push back our reservation to finish enjoying our Aperol spritzers. We ordered the tasting menu and augmented it with a couple of other dishes. Standouts were the seared octopus, sea urchin tagliatelle and wild hare. The poached shrimp app and venison entree were both beautifully prepared, just not as dazzling as the other food. We asked to switch out the tasting menu dessert, since my companion is allergic to the almonds, and we were graciously offered the choice of two others. We tried the hazelnut terrine with chocolate gelato -- perfect! I look forward to my next visit to Drago Centro.
Better than I remember
What a pleasant surprise. I had dinner with a colleague prior to an evening meeting, so we were in quite early--right at opening, when it is still pretty bare and quite quiet. The octopus appetizer was the best version of this dish I've ever had--just perfect in every way.
Good Solid italian cucina
Everything we ordered was well prepared, well cooked and nicely seasoned. Nothing tricky, foamy, or mysterious. We were three and we each ordered a different first course to share and each our own entree, with tastes of course. The perfect amount for us. And the dessert was also a little different and nicely done. Service was a little too aggressive, but everyone was courteous and helpful.

Enjoyed a nice dinner here. The Miste salad was delicious and so was the parpadelle, which is my favorite. Serving portion was smaller that night so either cutting back or a smaller portion was sent out. My husband enjoyed his courses and was happy with his dinner Serves was a little bit off this time, usually the servers are more attentive Had to look for server a few times that evening but he was still a good server. We really enjoy this place and is on our list of places to dine out at.
Whatever was great is gone
I loved this place. In fact we came here to celebrate and I took my parents after raving to them about the food. The waiter was incredibly unhelpful and hard to find throughout the meal- uninformed about the menu items, brought out first and seconds at the same time- after I asked about the steak and sauce I was told it was just a decorative sauce, when it arrived not only was the steak sitting in it but it was so much like it was in a soup- The waiter then proceeded to tell me it was still decorative ?!! Overall whatever experience I've had in the past with the food and the service this past trip being what it was completely it has wiped out any memory of greatness and I will not be returning to what was once one of my favorite restaurants.
Great place for a special meal
We liked the decor and feel of the place - it was very appealing and bustling. We would definitely return to try more dishes. The seared polpo (octopus) was unbelievably tender and flavorful. The mixed greens with shaved Pink Lady apples and bacon was very good and our venison main dish was perfection. The service was well-timed and friendly, and our waiter made excellent suggestions, including wine pairings.
I've been to Drago Centro a few times and it never disappoints. The food was delicious as usual and the service was outstanding. It was early on a Tuesday, so the restaurant was quiet, but filled up as the evening went on. Can't go wrong with this restaurant.
The food here is always delicious. To me, consistency is important. Every time I eat here, I know I am going to get delicious food served by great waitstaff. why go elsewhere?

Food was fantastic & the atmosphere was great too. Love the setup of the restaurant! Will be back for many more experiences.
The food was good and served hot. However the restaurant was extremely cold. I would also like to see some more vegetarian choices among the pastas. We talked to management who said that the building controls the temperature and they cannot control it----bring layers.
Lovely DTLA Restaurant and Bar on the Patio
Loved it. We waited for friends on the patio and I had a yummy tequila drink. Food was excellent. Had venison and it was excellent. Very classy and beautiful interiors.
Excellent seating in the patio area.
Good food and service was great. No complaints here during our business lunch.
Nice place, but watch the bill!
The food and ambiance is good, the server was mediocre. She didn't know the food very well, and over-billed a $40 meal (I got a $150 bill). Eventually had it corrected, but I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get it fixed.
