Dallas Fish Market Ratings and Reviews
Felt like a VIP
From the moment we walked in and were handed champagne and a "teaser" from the chef, to the tasty biscuits served with dinner to the complementary taste of dessert, we felt like VIPs. The food and service are absolutely excellent.
The Dallas Fish Market is a wonderful restaurant and provides an exceptional dining experience. Everything about it was a good experience from the waiter and his suggestions to the food to the ambiance.

Disappointing visit recently to Dallas Fish Market. The menu isn't very inventive, and the two fish dishes we ordered were very average. Clam chowder was gloppy, and the lobster appetizer was just plain confusing. The restaurant has been much better on other visits.
Great Business Lunch Spot
All of my business clients who I bring to the restaurant are very impressed with the high quality of food here. Most of them are surpised to find a great seafood-oriented restaurant in a city that is better known for great steak.
Great place for a business lunch. Quiet and nice spacing between tables so you can talk freely.

Went on Easter and it wasn't packed. A little odd there were no fish choices on the selected menu. French toast stuffed with Nutella was way too sweet.

Best service and seafood I've had in a long time!
Pleasant service. Good sashimi.
The market salad is always good. So is the sashimi. Service is attentive without hovering.

Has kind of limited menu, however, kitchen is extremely flexible & will prepare food any way one requests. My wild salmon was prepared alternatively for me in a nice mild sauce & served with basmati rice & asparagus- quite delicious! Was honestly ready to walk out after first reading the menu & the manner in which their dishes were served, but our savy server & cooperative chef totally turned things around for me. Would highly recommend the DFM & would definitely return while in Dallas.
downtown Dallas needs to move forward
everything was ok: decoration, welcome, menu, welcome drink, staff, music, even food was good and very well presented but because we come from New York we found the place and the area lack of ambience and vibrant spot. Dallas downtown needs to create a culture of dining out at night (few places, few people, few options). Was he have a good experience and the food was very good.
Great for Meeting Lunchs
I use to reserve at Dallas Fish Market for meeting lunch because is a quiet place where you can talk and the service is very good. They have different foods options and the prices are good too.
Not an extensive menu
Menu options very limited for a fish restaurant. No fresh oysters available, no grilled options, etc. The food did taste delicious!

The food was good and we enjoyed the ambiance. The service was lousy. It took us over 3.5 hours for a 3 course meal on Valentine's Day. Fortunately we didn't have an event planned after dinner
Busy but tasty
I was in town the day before valentines day and made my reservation through open table, I knew the hostess didn't want me to take up a 2 person table so asked if I'd sit at the bar so I said sure. The bartender was nice, but needed help, way over staffed for the eve of a holiday. He was rushed through me ordering but made a killer drink! The chocolate souffle had stunning presentation.

Food was good and the ambiance was great but the quality of service doesn't match the quality of food or price of meal.
The food was amazing and the service outstanding.
Our visit was one to remember. The food was well worth the price and the service was exceptional. While this is an upscale restaurant we were made to feel very comfortable. Overall a very wonderful dining experience.
Will not return
We have been to Dallas Fish Market several times before for special occasions and EVERYTHING was always good so we were looking forward to dinner. To begin, we waited at the hostess area for a few minutes while several staff members passed us by. We were finally seated and waited about 10 minutes before our waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. I wanted a Mojito...they were out of mint. My husband ordered...they were out of Red Bull. This was at 5:00pm on Saturday, 2/13 (Valentine's Weekend). So we ordered alternatives and went on to browse the menu. Our waiter said we could order from the Valentine's menu or the regular menu. Well, my husband wanted Surf and Turf (which he had every time we dined there before), the waiter came back and said they weren't serving that. So he finally chose oysters and ceviche and I had salmon. The oysters were the smallest I've ever seen and my husband ate 1/2 the ceviche. My salmon was just OK. And all that was just for two of us...there were 6 people in our party. All of us left very unsatisfied. That'll be the last money that Dallas Fish Market gets out of us. We'll never go back.
Flavorful food, attentive service
Good selection of seafood/fish entrees. Excellent flavor and presentation.
This was one of the best experiences that I've had with dinning. The staff was wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Very beautiful with a Zen type setting. It's definitely worth more than one visit.
Wish I lived in Dallas!
I treated myself to lunch here during a work trip. The Bama Roll is ...I could eat it every day. Guys, you HAVE to order this roll. The jalapeno biscuits served with maple butter was amazing. The servers was all so kind and attentive. I wish I lived in Dallas so I could go there more!

We keep giving Fish Market opportunities to improve. The sushi is the best downtown - but service is always very spotty and sometimes unprofessional.
Don't go hungry.
I would not recommend this place to a friend, unless I want to make an enemy. I chose this place for birthday lunch and was not impressed. We made the most of it. The chocolate souffle and crab cake were good.
I loved the caviar and small blinis/ pancakes...
We was surprised by the variation of the food options. We tried different starters and had a blast enjoying it!
Dallas Fish Market
Excellent food and service! Great place to take a client for lunch or dinner. I wish the portions were a bit larger though.
Dallas Fish Market: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
It was because of OpenTable I stumbled across this marvelous restaurant. I love seafood and could not have asked for a more delicious meal. I had the Fennel Coriander Crusted Ahi Tuna and it was phenomenal! My waiter, Will, made my meal even more enjoyable. He did an amazing job and took the time to get to know me. The ambiance was pure perfection. I could not have asked for a better experience!
Put this on your list of top restaurants
It was our first time there and we close because location close to Marriott and we love fish. What a lovely surprise. We got there early and we offered water or a chance to go to bar (restaurant had not opened yet). Once seated our waiter, William, was out within a minute. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and gave us some excellent suggestions for wines as well as the menu items. We were offered a glass of complimentary champagne and a small bite to excite our appetizer. The Caesar salad we split was excellent and unusual. William came to check on us and clear our plates at the appropriate time. We ordered a swordfish dinner and a salmon dinner. The fish could not have been fresher and was so moist. The sauces were excellent. After dinner, we had no room for dessert but we were given a little plate of lemon biscotti. We were impressed by the food and the service and all the little extras. The restaurant is divided into several areas with glass dividers so it is much quieter than many other places. Loved looking at the lights across the street too. We will certainly return and recommend this special place to others.
This is the second time we have eaten at Dallas Fish Market and I was excited to come back again this time. The food and service were excellent and we will definitely keep coming back when we are in Dallas.
OUTSTANDING AS ALWAYS
Dined at this restaurant in the past as the mixologist comes up with great martinis and the chef always gives you a little taste of something new before dinner. The food is always excellent as is the service. Highly recommend.
Staff all around were very accommodating.
The food was delicious and presentation wonderful. Had a great time. Would definitely recommend especially if you like seafood but we also had steak and it was wonderful too.

The food is always uniformly outstanding and the service is very attentive. One of the best restaurants in Dallas for great seafood and sushi. Highly recommended.
Great food and helpful staff. would recommend to anyone who loves fish.
In addition to the excellent sashimi, the service was pleasantly attentive.
Walk on by
The ambiance is pleasant and inviting, but the wait staff and food options were extremely disappointing. The best thing were the biscuits, which were free. Our waiter was rude and officious, behaving as if he were beneath his service. The drink orders were confused twice, not boding well for the bar or again, the waiter. A good general manager could turn this place into the restaurant it wants to be.
Dallas Fish Market
The greeting and welcome great. The service it -self was OK. chef accommodations for food substitutions were a challenge when asked.
I'd gone for lunch a couple of months ago, and it was great. Based upon that, I decided to go back for dinner. As my star ratings describe, everything was great except for our main entrees. It simply was not good. I have no other way to describe it. The plates presented well; however, the food was bland; lacking flavor and zest. Unfortunately, there was nothing to make us want to return for another night out. :(

Amazing branzino. Delicious cocktails. Attentive service.
A pleasant surprise
The food was a bit of a surprise, albeit a pleasant one, in that there was an Asian 'theme'. I enjoyed a salmon dish over a seaweed salad with a sauce that was miso like. Very nice combination. With the name Dallas Fish Market this was unexpected. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Big D looking for exquisite seafood.
