Always good

Dined 4 days ago

We love Cypress, it's our go-to place for mid week meals out or weekends with friends. Reliably good and unpretentious. We esp like their recent expansion of the vegetable choices, when they have really good, different options.

Cypress Grill, Very Pleasant Surprise

Dined on March 27, 2016

At the suggestion of some friends my wife (of 45 years) and I decided to try Cypress Grill for our anniversary dinner. We were treated professionally and with respect from the moment we entered the restaurant. Our waitress, Rachel B., was excellent, attentive to our wants but she did not hover. The food was wonderful, as were the cocktails, and we did not feel at all rushed. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Disappointing Easter brunch

Dined on March 27, 2016

Thank you for asking. My family and I have been customers of Cypress Grill since it opened. It is in our neighborhood and we like to support our local businesses. I have to say that we were all looking forward to a delicious Cajun style brunch. Unfortunately, the restaurant decided to do a buffet brunch, which was not advertised anywhere on their website. They serve brunch every Saturday and Sunday until 2:30 and although you are not able to order the full menu, you can order most items on the menu. That is what we expected. The Easter brunch consisted of cold eggs, cold grits, overcooked boiled shrimp, tasteless étouffée,burnt pancakes etc. Not at all what we expected. They didn't refresh the food until the warming tray was almost empty and the food was cold. From now on, we will go to Evangeline's for our Cajun and Creole food.

I've been eating at the Cypress Grill for about 10 years. It is consistently excellent. I've never had a disappointing meal there. Service is always good. Great, great place.

Fun at Cypress Grill

Dined on January 5, 2016

First time at Cypress Grill and we will be back! Clean, friendly service and great food. There were four of us and each had something different and all four loved their meal. Not one issue or complaint! Our server made great recommendations and made it fun to dine at the Cypress Grill.

A gem of a restaurant!

Dined on January 3, 2016

We were staying at the Hampton Inn and looked for a nearby restaurant for dinner. We love trying small non-chain restaurants and this one was close by. It was a great find! Prices were reasonable , the menu was varied and everything we had was excellent! Would definitely recommend.

Great food as usual

Dined on January 1, 2016

We live around the corner, so we tend to go to Cypress quite a bit. The food is consistent and always very good. The Wait staff is excellent. The drinks are very good. I love the rotating monthly menu items (my god, please, PLEASE bring back the stuffed fried pork chop) and i swear that the pancakes are the best i have ever eaten. My only complaint on the specialty brunch (which is their normal breakfast/brunch foods, but buffet style) is the price. While most folks can't really consume 2 plates of food, 18 bucks a person is a little steep. But all in all, we will easily be back again.

New Year's Eve

Dined on January 1, 2016

I had NO IDEA this place would be so chaotic on New Year's Eve. It was crazy busy and much louder than normal. I couldn't hear anyone at my table talking. We hurried up and ate to get out of the place. Other than the noise, the service and food were good! We were in and out pretty quick. I was sad the crawfish enchiladas weren't on the menu, but that may be a seasonal or lunch thing I suppose.

OUR GO-TO NEIGHBORHOOD BISTRO

Dined on December 15, 2015

Cypress Grill is our favorite go-to Cajun bistro in Southwest Austin. We would like to keep the secret, but the word is out! All of the selections are great. Nice selection of wines and craft beers. Use Open Table for easy reservations and avoid the usual wait.

Great celebration dinner!

Dined on December 12, 2015

A group of 12 celebrated our son's college graduation and EVERYONE was pleased with their meal! The atmosphere was fun and the waiter couldn't have been better. We had seafood dishes that equaled those in South Louisiana and the pot roast was delicious! We're looking forward to returning to try out other dishes. Thanks Cypress Grill for the perfect evening!!

I love their nice and spicy infused bloody mary's! The two eggs benedict type dishes are very tasty... especially the one topped by their (very good in it's own right) crawfish etouffee. Service is usually top notch as well

Authentic Cajun Gem

Dined on October 16, 2015

Delicious experience! The poor boys were just like down home in Cajun country, partly because the bread was from New Orleans and the seafood was abundant and well-seasoned. Also, I love the option of getting half a po-boy with the option of any side. We chose a side of gumbo, and it had a rich roux and fair amount of chicken and sausage. Also, my husband loved the shrimp Rockefeller pasta entree. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we felt like we were in one of our favorite south Louisiana kitchens.

Wonderful!

Dined on October 11, 2015

My husband and I went there for our 28th wedding anniversary. We live on the north side and nothing cajun/creole was open on Sunday. We spent our honeymoon in NO and have been there many, many times since. We wanted to celebrate eating food from NO since we couldn't go this year. Cypress Grill was VERY good and the service was excellent! It is also very reasonably priced. We highly recommend it!
