We sat for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us...and we even had made reservations. Once our server came, he was great...but the initial wait had everyone irritated and frustrated.

I enjoyed crave before. I scheduled a date night with my boyfriend a week in advanced. When we arrived, they sat us in a banquet room next to three loud tables with large parties. I was not happy about the room or the noise volume. The food was great before but it did not taste as good this time around. The ambiance was ruined by being sat in the party room.

Great outing

Dined on April 23, 2016

We went here with friends early on a Saturday. Our reserved table was waiting for us, so we were seated immediately. Our server was solicitous, but not overly so. She helped us make menu decisions. We never felt rushed. By the time we were leaving the restaurant, there were people waiting for a table. I recommend a reservation. The food was excellent. All four of us were happy with our appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts.

Burnt scallops

Dined on April 16, 2016

This is one of my favorite spots in downtown akron, usually the food is top notch, everything was good until my scallops arrived and the looked very dark. Took a bite and they were crunchy and char tasting, My fiance's wine was not good. Everybody else food was very good, The manager apologized and was very gracious. comped the scallops and gave me a gift card which i told him wasn't necessary and offered free desserts. The serving staff needs help, that the downfall of Crave is the waiting staff not as good as the food which hurts the experience. The waitress should know not to serve that dish, but proceeded and didn't come back until alot later. Bottom line is i will be back and you should try the food its very good and fit for foodies

Amazing, again!

Dined on April 14, 2016

This was our 2nd time back! Invited friends to join us. It was awesome, again! Cocktails, appetizers, salads, dinner, and the service ... could not have been better. And ... so close to Musica where our pals, The New Soft Shoe, performed the Cosmic American Music of Gram Parsons! What a fantastic evening!!!

Excellent Dinner

Dined on April 9, 2016

We were a group of 4 going out to dinner to try a new restaurant. We each put an untried restaurant name in a hat and the winner this time was CRAVE. We all enjoyed our dinners except one member. His was not what he expected and not well prepared. The manger came over, profusely apologized and proceeded to "make things right". We were extremely pleased with the way the manager handled this and would DEFINITELY make a return trip to Crave! !

Great for a date night

Dined on April 9, 2016

Won some money on a March Madness bracket so we decided to spend it on a date night. Crave is a newer restaurant in downtown Akron that sounded like a place worth trying. Dinner for two ran about $60 including tip. Water was served in some funky contemporary leaning glass with optional lemon wedges. They had a very good selection of craft beer bottles and a handful of drafts. I had the hanger steak and it was delicious with some roasted potatoes and a pepper. My wife had the salmon with a yummy sauce. Our server was very personable and patient. We made reservations for a Saturday night at 5 PM but the place wasn't too busy yet. Parking was free in a city garage right across the street. Décor was trendy modern. Bathrooms were not super clean. In addition to more expensive dinners, they also had a variety of burgers and sandwiches that all sounded good in the $10 price range.

Good food & service

Dined on April 9, 2016

Had a late night bite to eat after a movie at the Nightlight this past weekend. We each had a sandwich and soup and both were excellent. My pulled pork was notably wonderful. The noise level was almost unbearable. There was a very loud wedding party in there when we were seated in the bar. We just don't do loud very well.

Food Quality

I did not like the lobster, to me it was very fishy and cheap. The quality of the food does not match the price. Very pricey for what you get.

Too expensive for lunch

Dined on April 1, 2016

Although the food was very good, $38 before tip for 2 lunch entrees is a lot of money. The server seemed unhappy, as if she didn't want to be there. On balance, the experience was OK , but it probably won't be my first choice in the future.

Dined here on several occasions. Great location in Akron Arts District (BluJazz+, Musica, Nightlight) and option of free parking in deck across the street after 6pm. Love the Kale salad with Tuna or chicken. Dress code is rock and roll to suits / dresses. Great long bar with seating if you forgot to make a reservation.

Awesome Food! As Always!

Dined on March 12, 2016

Service and food is always awesome, every time we come to Crave! We don't like to rush the "whole eating scene"... so spacing out things is what we intend on doing when we want to relax and enjoy the evening. So, I've learned to hold off on ordering dinner til after the appetizer. Lol...

We went on a friday evening. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't busier. We were early for our reservation and they got us right in. Menu is eclectic and good. Food was tasty. Server gave good suggestions when asked questions. She had sampled the menu to be knowledgeable. Would recommend.

Great early dinner

Dined on March 5, 2016

We got there right when the restaurant opened (with reservations - they have been known to be rude if you don't have a reservation!). We had great service and enjoyed delicious food. The paella portion was surprisingly small (especially for the price tag), but still delicious. Chicken and waffles were also delicious and well-balanced. The fried green tomato appetizer was amazing!

A rare evening out

Dined on February 19, 2016

Being use to the differences between casual dining and fine dining I felt "Crave" was an excellent blend between the two. Using some of the other well known local fine dining restaurants as comparison I would place them surprisingly well into the list. The decor, atmosphere was only exceeded by the food itself and while the service wasn't equal to the level expected I would refrain from saying anything negative except that it was dry and could be improved. Overall we walked away that evening wondering why we hadn't visited before and wondering when would be a good time to return.... with friends.

Don't be fake

Dined on February 15, 2016

I can say that the food was amazing however the drinks and service left much to be desired. For one, they were not very busy. Everytime our waitress had to interact with us it felt like she had to force herself just to smile. I almost didn't want to leave a tip! The only reason I did was because I used to wait tables. Also, if you are a general manager or any employee you should smile and say hello to guests as you pass them. Everyone working there just looked angry and very unfriendly. The only savior to the experience was the food.

Wouldn't go back

Dined on February 14, 2016

Food was good and service was excellent but way over priced. This is a restaurant that when you walk in the door you should know you'll be paying for what a "fancy" upscale restaurant wants to be. I knew that when I went there and I went for Valentine's Day but come on 29 dollars for 4 scallops and 4 ravioli. No side salad included and no table bread. Then you have to leave a 20% tip for the entitled server. I get it if you don't want this, then don't go out to eat! Next time I'll go to Olive Garden. Different stroke for different folks. If you want to show of your $ and leave hungry, then go to Crave!

Disappointed in the details

Dined on February 13, 2016

My wife and I went to Crave on Valentine's Day - relatively early, so this was not a rush time. The service was excellent - waiter attended us at all the right times, kept the drinks refilled. The food was a minor disappointment. Iceberg salads were great - best part of the dinner. I had the lamb shank, and was advised that it would take a little longer so it would be properly cooked/heated. The exterior was fine, but the meat close to the bone was cool. My wife had vanilla ice cream for dessert - two scoops. The scoops were about the size of large ravioli - which was a little small but OK. Unfortunately, they must have just come out of the deep freeze because she had to chip away at them to get edible chunks.

Enjoyed an early Valentine's Day evening with my Valentine before the "rush" of the weekend, so we could "dine on our time"... thoroughly enjoyed! We enjoyed the salmon on Lent Friday... AWESOME! Food is DEELISH!!!

Never Disappointed

Dined on February 11, 2016

I have eaten at Crave several times, and I have to say I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. My wife had the Fine Cheese Board and I had the Roasted Tomato Cheese Soup. I mean this: if you've been to Crave and NOT had this soup, you are a fool. No kidding. I had the BLT and my wife ordered the filet. She loved the creamed spinach and the meat, she said, was delicious. I ordered the BLT because, unlike any BLT I've ever had before, one of the ingredients was lobster. There was also bacon, tomato and melted cheese, all on toast. The only complaint I had was that the toast was a bit too toasted. It was dry and brittle, which isn't really a problem, but the sandwich was cut on the diagonal after it was on the plate and a corner broke off each half's bottom slice. Again, wouldn't have been a problem, except that the sandwiches were hard to pick up, the insides were falling out, and the stiff toast broke apart as I was eating. STILL -- that sandwich tasted absolutely amazing! The bread was the only thing that was just a little wrong. I have NEVER had anything at Crave that wasn't fantastic, and I don't use that word. The service is professional and on a level I haven't seen at a lot of higher-end restaurants. Courteous, polite and obviously very well trained. You can't go wrong here. If you think I'm pouring it on too thickly, you go and see for yourself.

We had a party of eight. Seated in a round booth which was good. The goat cheese app was delicious. I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. Not what it was cracked up to be!!

Dined on February 4, 2016

Their menu was not the same as on their website, thus the only reason why we went. They only had 3 items on their happy hr menu and the pizza was awful! My wife had the white bean burger and the thing was literally falling apart and soggy, must not of had any binder in the recipe and the sweet potato fries were under cooked. Sadly this was a one and done for us as we will look elsewhere when traveling to Akron.
