Crabtree's Kittle House Ratings and Reviews
Pre Sr Musical
It's my friends and I yearly ritual to have our pre Sr Musical dinner and drink at the Kittle House. It was fabulous as always!
Perfect Sunday Brunch
Wonderful and enjoyable Sunday brunch. Despite our needing to add one person to our reservation at the very last moment, the staff was very accommodating. Being such a popular venue the restaurant is understandably packed and the wait staff at times seem under siege, but still highly recommended for a pleasant and filling bruch destination.
All around great experience
As a young couple my boyfriend and I often don't get treated the same as older patrons at some of the nicer restaurants we dine at. Crabtree was attentive and helpful , outstanding service all around by the wait staff. I would recommend this to any looking for a well rounded experience. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left service was outstanding. I have been trying to dine here for a while and it was well worth the wait. I have the lamb which was delicious and tender. My boyfriend enjoyed his venison we shared the tuna pizzette which was also very fresh and light. the creme brulee was a perfect ending to share as I was stuffed because the lamb was HUGE! We will definitely be dinning here again
This Sunday brunch was not cheap ($37.50) but well worth it. The buffet was abundant with high-quality choices from oysters to quiche to hand-carved meats. Delicious! The location and atmosphere is beautiful and elegant, but not stuffy. Highly recommend.
Food not like it should have been
Sadly we used to love to come to the restaurant but I had the swordfish which had no taste. We told he waiter that we didn't want desert and asked for a check and out came three deserts. We told the waiter that we didn't order any and he said it was a gift from the chef, so we nibbled..and then the check came with the deserts on it...We had it removed.
The food is good, with some creative touches
The staff was attentive and the food tasted good, the ambiance was good but the piano bar and piped music were at odds, and the staff were able to turn down the piped music. The view was a bit barren, but would improve with spring foliage. some old timey charm.

The Gnudi was excellent and must be tried. The pasta of the day was perfectly dressed and delicious. The goat cheese cheesecake was superb. The dining room has a formal, yet comfortable, atmosphere --A welcome change from these bare-bones, no tablecloth places – – and the service was excellent. It was not crowded at lunch, but should be. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely lunch at Crabtree's Kittle House last Monday and the food was Wonderful; and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this place.
Dinner was wonderful!!

Consistently good food, service, and ambiance. Our go to place for a special occasion.
Amazing as always!
The food and service were fantastic as always! We are always treated "like family" when we come. Many thanks to Leo and Kimberly and our waiter Jose who took unbelievable care of us!
Excellent service and food. We ended up closing the place but were never pressured to leave. We go back again.
I have eaten here before at work luncheons and parties. As before, my dining experience was very positive with exceptional food. The wine I ordered, a Cabernet, was excellent. Service was impeccable. Definitely a favorite.
Nice meal for restaurant week
We enjoyed the lamb shank but one person in our party had duck confit that he did not care for. THe service was responsive and when we asked them to slow down they listened. The room was a bit barren for my taste but all in all for a good deal we all enjoyed.
Will come back again
The waitstaff was so nice and friendly. When I told them how much I loved the bread, the packed up a whole bag for me for breakfast the next day. The food was fantastic with great portion sizes. Only complaint was that the risotto was a little bit cold, but still delicious.
Nice, but better value out there
Went for restaurant week. Liked my food, did not love. Regular menu expensive. Good service, nice venue. Wine list is fun, especially if someone else is paying
The food was delicious and the service was friendly, professional and attentive.

The service was terrible! No drink, bread or menu for twenty minutes. We asked for a half order of Mac n cheese for appetizer. Within minutes our entre was served and we were told that the chef couldn't split the Mac n cheese order. The waiter never came out to give us another option before dumping our entrees on the table. This was a business meeting and I was so embarrassed. I have eaten here many many times, but this was the worst. A shame because the food was delicious. Never going back!

A very good restaurant. We had heard about this restaurant it it did not disappoint us. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. I will go back there!!!
Less than expected
I ate lunch here during Restaurant Week. We went on a Monday, which apparently is the day the Rotary Club has lunch here. It was a little chaotic, having to weave our way thru the Rotarians at the buffet and bar to the table. I also think the staff was too busy with both things going on. the whole atmosphere made it seem like nothing special, which has not been my previous experience at the Kittle House. The front desk should let people know about the rotary lunch when they are making reservations. The food was good, but we weren't thrilled with the restaurant week menu items.
Charming Spot in Chappaqua
One of the most special restaurants to eat in, whether it be for a get together with friends or to celebrate a special occasion. So glad they participate in Hudson valley restaurant week. The 3 course lunch was delicious - from the lobster bisque to the 3 chocolate delectable dessert. Can't wait to dine again there!
I Love This Place.
Crabtree's Kittle House . This Was My First Time At This Place . But Not My Last. Everything Was Excellent. Can't Wait To Be Back Here Again. Thank You.
Solid and dependable
The Kittle House never disappoints. The food and service is always solid. It's close to home and we always enjoy dining there.

We always enjoy ourselves at Kittle House. The menu selection, food and service are outstanding. We ate here during restaurant week and could hardly finish the lamb shank they served. It was delicious and so tender that it fell off the bone. Highly recommend Kittle house
The food and service was excellent.
Parking was a bit tricky with lines for the valet. But the food and service was top notch. A wonderful place for a special occasion or a quiet dinner.
Food was good and service was good. A lot of regulars who seemed to be treated excellently. Some tables are in less desirable areas where there is a lot of traffic.

Not Returning Any Time Soon
Made reservation 2 weeks before for Valentine's Day. Was seated practically behind the bar amongst the racks of glasses and where the bartenders and servers tended to congregate. One bartender even plunked her pocketbook down on the last table next to us and began to scan through her phone messages while rummaging through her purse. It was very cold as we were seated by a very large window with very little heat. Between the employee commotion, piles of restaurant supplies and chilly temperature, it was not very romantic and certainly not a pleasant dining experience at all! Fork was not replaced after appetizer and white wine was not chilled.
It's been better.
Ok, Kittle House has a long history and reputation. But, I think that it's living on that reputation. There was an excessive "running" of staff, back and forth that was annoying. Food was served cold. For me, the ambiance, was ruined by my seat being over a soft spot in the floor that would go up and down as people walked behind me. The staff was attentive and provided a nice, professional delivery. Perhaps Valentines Day is a bad day to eat here. Disappointing at best.
Valentine's Day Brunch
My wife and I visited for the special Valentine's Day Brunch and both had a wonderful time. The variety of food on the Brunch buffet was excellent, from breakfast fare (the vegetable quiche was outstanding), to cold seafood (shrimp, oysters, smoked salmon & trout, crab claws), to carving station and pasta - all were incredible!!! An added treat was the dessert (served, not from the buffet). The service was outstanding, all of the wait staff as well as the servers on the buffet line were friendly and made us feel very welcome. All in all, it was a great experience and we're certainly looking forward to coming back again!
We tried out this restaurant for the first time this past Saturday night. The food was pretty good, but I wasn't too impressed with the service. Although the staff was very nice, we didn't really had a waiter/waitress. It seemed that no one really knew what to do with us. We had about 4 different people coming over which caused some confusion. "Have you had anyone take your drink order", "did anyone give you menus", "did you order food yet", "is anyone bringing you your check". These were questions from all the different people working the floor. Additionally, we were being stared by various workers as they were trying to figure out what stage of the meal we were in and if they should approach or not (at least that's my best guess). The atmosphere was very nice but overall just a strange experience. As someone who waited tables for 10+ years, I was a bit confused by the whole thing.
Scenic, friendly, cozy
My husband and I wanted to get out of NYC for an evening, and we had a great time at Crabtree's Kittle House. The staff were very professional and courteous, and we found that the service was old-school without being pretentious. We were a little early for our reservation, but they were able to seat us right away. We never felt rushed by our server and server assistants, but we also never felt abandoned. The food was absolutely delicious! The nudi was especially notable, as was the Kittle Krack Pie. The wine list had the biggest "by the glass" offering I have ever seen, which was really nice. The view was beautiful: the main dining room looks out over the old farm, making it super cozy on a cold, winter night. This was just what we needed for a night away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Better than ever
I am happy to report that both a recent dinner and a celebratory birthday brunch were outstanding. The current menu offered interesting choices and the meals did not disappoint. Food was flavorful and well prepared. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and very professional.

This was our second visit at brunch time. Though the food was decent, we were disappointed by the (lack of) service. We had to ask for beverages several times and they came with the wrong ones, same with dessert. Friendliness of staff at buffet station was not apparent. Was it we came in at "rush hour"? We were celebrating a birthday. It was on our reservation, yet we had to repeat several times. We had asked for a window table, we didnt get it even though 5 minutes after our seating a window table cleared. Also what happened to valet parking? A suggestion: instead of having a gazillion people at reception making calls to insure reservations, it'd be smarter to insure better service and communication. Last but not least, isnt the rule that gratuity is added to a party of 6 or more? We were 4 and gratuity was automatically added! Really! Honestly the 20% tip I paid was not deserved!
Excellent dining experience
First time here and it won't be my last. The meal was delicious and the service was also first class.

Food was fantastic. Service was very good and more than helpful in selecting a bottle of wine or meal. Also, the Bar is a nice spot to grab a drink before or after dinner.
Wonderful Sunday Brunch
Recently had brunch here for the second time in a year. It is a very lovely experience. From the first person who greets you at the door to the busboys, waiters even the parking valet, all are so friendly! And the food is great. The brunch is buffet style and offers an abundance of delicious options. I look forward to returning.
Nice brunch offerings
Crabtree Kittle House has been serving a buffet brunch for a long time. There is a lot of variety in the offerings for brunch. Only disappointment was that the muffins taste store bought and the meats were not as tender. The service is very attentive.

A local gem
Nothing compares to the service, the food, the ambiance or the attention to detail at Crabtree's Kittle House. It isn't just a special occasion destination. It is fine dining for lunch, brunch or dinner daily as well as those special times. The Tap Room or the main dining room are equally matched in service and quality. It is a local gem and not to be missed. and visited frequently. and why not?
