Going to CQ's for dinner on our annual visit to HH is a tradition for us and, as always, never disappoints. The chowder was delicious and full of seafood. Loved the scallop preparation and my husband devoured his shrimp & grits with a smile!
My food was excellent.

Good Return Experience
We loved CQ's the first time we were there, but it had been years since returning. This was also a very good dinner. Love the old house atmosphere, staff was friendly, but our sever, although very attentive and nice, was not really knowledgable about the food and wine. Dessert sounded wonderful, but was just ok, not a lot of flavor (dark chocolate bourbon) Would go back, but there are so many good restaurants on HHI, it will be awhile

Had my favorite scallop dish! Excellent as usual! Loved the Rickshaw Pinot Noir!
Tucked away gem!
This little gem is tucked away in it's own little world away from the hustle bustle of Harbour Town. Very nice ambience, and great food served up well. Suggestion of short ribs was perfect for my husband, while I enjoyed the grouper. Both were wonderful. We also had the chowder, which was great, and managed to share a decadent peanut butter and chocolate ganache dessert. I would highly recommend this great spot, and plan to return next time in Hilton Head.

Favorite Sea Pines restaurant since the 1970's. Never disappoints. Thank you.
Our dinner at CQ's was a fabulous food experience - in terms of taste and presentation. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The wine list had varied and interesting options. Our one downside was being in a lovely place with higher prices and having two tables with young children who were playing on tablets and talking loudly and being reprimanded.

Diverse menu, great tasting food with good attentive service; historical aspect interesting as well. Would definitely go back.
A cozy spot near Harbortown
We stayed at a Marriott timeshare and could walk to CQ's. Good hearty quality food served by a very pleasant waitress.
Lots to love
We try to dine here when ever we are in town. The atmosphere is rustic but comfortable. Our server Kristin was great at describing the specials and making recommendations. The Oysters Rockefeller deconstructed was wonderful. Crispy fried oysters atop of spinach with creme sauce. Crazy good. Hubby's was in HOG heaven wit the pork belly appetizer followed by the short ribs entree. Consistently good food and service. Wonderful. ADVISE: always make a reservation. CQ's is popular with locals and visitors.
We all ordered seafood. The servings were moderate so if you are very hungry, you will want to order an appetizer or salad to make sure you get enough to eat. The presentation of the food was excellent. They bring fresh rolls out to you, but only give you one per customer. The rolls were pretty hard and not very tasty. I had the scallops and they were wonderful; melt in your mouth like butter. My food was hot, fresh and delicious. The other two ordered fish. The fish was fresh and were quality cuts. One person had Mahi Mahi. His fish was warm and the accompanying corn pudding was cold. The temperature of the third person's fish was warm, but not steaming fresh from the grill. There aren't a lot of items to choose from on the menu, but overall selection should appeal to most diners. it is a relaxing environment and we had good service.
Our experience tonight was less than fav ...
Our experience tonight was less than favorable. Our daughter is gluten intolerant and we asked our waiter what items on the menu were GF. He informed us that most items beside the pasta were in fact gluten free. We told him she had been looking forward to returning to CQ's since her last birthday on 7/30/2015. She told him she had the braised beef ribs and ordered the same item. When the food was delivered to our table by the manager my husband double checked that they were prepared gluten free. The manager told us that the meat was actually dipped in flour and then fried. He said the chef changed the menu in 2012 because it made the meat more tender. Seriously?! Who goes backwards with their menu with regards to GF? We informed him we were at CQ's July 2015, even showing him a picture of her braised short ribs. Our daughter is very proactive with her condition and is quite a foodie. He ignored what we were saying and became quite defensive with us. He then told us he wouldn't charge us for her dinner and asked her what she would like instead. She ended up with a very bland bowl of shrimp and grits that lacked flavor and presentation. The hostess graciously offered to put it in a to go box and being polite we let her. Unfortunately, the cheap container leaked all over my jeans and my husband's car. So, when we returned to our villa we spent another 30 minutes cleaning up that mess. Might be a good idea to spend a little extra money for better containers and a to go bag. Check out some of your competition for ideas. Considering she had not eaten and this is our last night on the island, we called one of our new favorite restaurants and ordered her dinner which we knew was gluten free from the other two times we had dined there this week. We went to CQ's because we have come to HHI for over 20 years and it has always been a family favorite. After tonight's experience and the lack of concern for our daughter's sensitivity we will not be returning.
Consistently excellent year after year. One of the island's best.
Some of the most uncomfortable chairs (Loft level) I have sat in at a restaurant. Loft level is tight but the server was excellent.

Excellent food and service!
Can't wait to go back! Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! Nice atmosphere.
We have been to CQs many times over the past 3 years. This experience was different. The special steak was nothing special. The light near our table felt like we were being interrogated and to top things off, some couple was doing FaceTime with their grandkids from the table and being quite loud. We will not be back anytime soon.

Our valentine's dinner had excellent service, and very nice food presentation. The four of us enjoyed the meal and quiet atmosphere ( a lot of places on the island are noisy ). Of course more expensive but worth it for special occasion.
Perfect site for our Valentine's Day dinner. Food was delicious and service was attentive.
CQ's Has been and is still my favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island. Eric, the host and manager of this lovely restaurant ,is the best. His staff, work very hard, and are very attentive to every detail of your dining experience. Food is wonderful, and extensive choices on the menu, including specials. The ambience is very special. The feel of an quaint old house in New England. Low ceilings and creaky wood floors. Bring you back to another time. If you have not been, please go. Make sure to sit in main dining room, upstairs or bar area which is also quite nice. I look forward to dining there again very soon. My only suggestion to Eric or Bonnie, is Please get an EXPRESSO MACHINE!! We have been asking for the last 10 yrs. Its Time. It would be a very nice finish to a wonderful meal. For us at Least! Thank You Jim & Millie Skarkas. Always a Pleasure
Great Local Restaurant
CQ's is located in one of the first buildings in the Harbor Town area of Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island. We have been there many times for dinner and have never been disappointed. This last time there my wife, a vegetarian, asked the chef to "surprise" her. After dinner she told the waitress that her meal was the best vegetarian dish she had ever eaten at any restaurant on Hilton Head Island. They always use fresh local seafood and veggies.
Always a romantic restaurant
Our meals were delicious and beautiful (Ahi tuna and chicken) and because it was BOGO through February, a GREAT value also!
We decided to take advantage of CQ's February special of buy one entree, get one entree free. Unfortunately for me, I have a dairy allergy plus it was Ash Wednesday so my choices were already limited. My husband said the clam chowder was excellent [dairy base so a no for me.] I was hoping for a non-cream based soup option since it was a cold day. Not to be…the only soup was a tomato cheese. The cedar plank salmon on the early bird menu sounded great, but the salmon I had off the full menu was just okay. The center was more under cooked and the flavoring was missing as it was just a piece of grilled salmon. I expected Great since we had an awesome dinner a few months prior.
Maybe the main Chef was not there?
We have been to CQ's several times the last two years but our latest dinner was just OK, we were a bit disappointed. There are too many restaurants in Hilton Head that are great and to settle for a restaurant that is OK for dinner doesn't appeal to us.

We travel to Hilton Head yearly and ALWAYS go to CQ's. Great food, great service, nice, comfortable atmosphere.
CQ's Night Out
My wife and I have eaten at CQ's in the past. It remains one of our favorites on the Island. Our most recent visit was to celebrate her birthday. I made reservations on the OpenTable web site and requested that the restaurant serve us a creme brulee with a candle as dessert. When we arrived the hostess greeted my wife with a cheerful "happy birthday". That seemed a nice touch. After our dinner the creme brulee came with a candle, right on time. She was please and thus I was please. Really a nice evening and good occasion..
Our Harbour town favorite
We love CQ's and always go there at least once when on the island! Great bar, food, service and place to meet people.
Nice vintage restaurant
Very good venue has history behind it as an artist home...very clean. Just didn't like our seating though. Would have liked a different section which did not have ambience and very loud.
Great food but strange experience
We ordered Grouper and Scallops for our two entrees. Meals are pricy except in Jan-Feb when entrees are BOGO, a great deal. The entrees were excellent but experience was off-kilter. My manhattan was ordered "up" but came with rocks and the server asked if that would be okay after he set it down in front of me. It's kind of like ordering one thing and being asked to take another after it's placed on the table. We weren't served the amuse-bouche that other tables got. We were never offered bread though the setting was in place. My entrée was great but the fries were not included with it. By the time the server brought them we had finished the meals. Even the check was a few dollars off. We loved the food but wondered about the rest.
Great for a specials evening or comfortable dinner
Beautiful Christmas decorations, attentive service, good food and beverages made for a special evening. Looking forward to my next visit.
Hilton Head Classic
I have known the CQs restaurant for over 30 years. One set of prior owners were my neighbors. CQs remains an upscale, classy restaurant in Harbour Town, the only one of its kind. Make reservations and enjoy a night out with your spouse or friends. Food is excellent, service is impeccable. I have never felt rushed when enjoying a meal here. CQs is a must if you are looking for a quiet meal followed by a stroll through Harbour Town along the yatch basin. Don't miss out-- reserve early, especially during peak seasons. Relax and enjoy!
We had another great dinner at CQ's. As always food was rich in flavor and service is always top notch.
I always love coming here and I am never disappointed. We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. The duck is fabulous! The tuna is excellent. The chocolate peanut butter cake melts in your mouth. Make a reservation right now, you will enjoy it.

Reliably a great meal and experience each time! Don't miss a drink at the bar pre dinner.
CQ's 20 Years
We have been going to CQ's for over 20 years on trips to Hilton Head. Always exceeds our expectations for food and service. Plan on continuing the tradition!
Still the best!
I've eaten here several times when vacationing on HHI but never in December. They had a wonderful promotion for December so we ate here twice. Both times the food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant, however, perhaps not for little ones.
