Copper Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I go to Charlotte at least once a month and every time we go we always plan a trip to Copper. The food is always excellent and the service is great. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food. I love this place.!!!!
Best meal since I moved to Charlotte!
I ate at Copper on Friday evening. The service staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. I have only been in Charlotte 10 months, but I have not had a better meal out!

Stache & Cook
Our first time at Copper and we were not disappointed. We were given a nice table by the window and our drinks arrived promptly. The bar tender came out to make sure that she had made our drinks to our satisfaction. Subsequently, with some excellent advice from the manager we enjoyed our meals. Traditional Indian food is not our usual but this was fun to experiment. Good value.

Great food but wish they still served chutneys as you sat down. That's one of the great tastes!
Took my wife for Dinner to Copper and it was a great experience. I arranged for flowers to be delivered and the staff kept them in the cooler for me to make sure they were fresh when we arrived. I can not say enough of how the staff went above and beyond to make sure the dinner was perfect. Food was exceptional as always. Every time we visit Charlotte we make sure we eat here. Simply a great place to eat and I would highly recommend Copper to anyone.

A varied group of people from a very finicky eater, to a vegetarian, to a total food snob found and enjoyed the food here. A plethora of vegetarian options combined with the mixture of traditional and modern dishes meant there was bound to be something for every palette. On top of that was great service. Rice is included with every dish. And my fiancé who took some food away was thrilled to see that in addition to his leftovers they had given him some fresh rice too (and what seems to be a whole new portion). Can be pricey for some dishes but you don't leave hungry.
We live way out in the suburbs so we don't visit here often. We love the food here. the spices are perfect. The appetizer cauliflower florets are perfect and the somosas. We tend to vegetarian on the menu so recommend the dal, the fingerling potatoes with spinach. Always a wonderful treat. The wine list is sufficiently varied.

Great food, quick servie and our server was very helpful with menu and beer selections too
This was my first time having Indian food and it was outstanding. Our waiter was very good about providing recommendations. I will say that he was a little pushy in trying to get us to order mutliple appetizers, wine, desserts, etc., but the food was excellent.

It is so nice to go to a very good Indian restaurant that is in a classy and intimate location. I am so used to going to Indian restaurants that are in strip malls next to Subway or Dominos Pizza. Copper is in a great historic home with an excellent atmosphere, great food, and service. I highly recommend it ... you will certainly enjoy being at this restaurant.

Great menu with a range of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Very authentic Indian prepared exceptionally well
A great find on a rainy night
In Charlotte for only a night we were looking for an Indian restaurant. We found "Copper" during an online search. An odd name for an Indian restaurant but that turned out to be the only odd thing about it. The food and service where exceptional, and the ambiance created but what appears to be a one time lovely Chaftsman style home was warm and inviting. The menu featured a several entree's you would expect from a traditional Indian restaurant, but there were also several unique chefs creations that I would love to try when we're able to pay a return visit. I would without reservation recommend "Copper" to anyone visiting the Charlotte area.
Best Indian food in Charlotte
Try the shrimp appetizer!! Vegetarian options are abundant also. Round out the evening with some garlic Naan and the triple dessert...
We've been to Copper many times and had excellent experiences. Not so in this case. Although we made a reservation several days in advance, we were marched past many empty tables and deposited in a dark back room. The red wine my husband ordered had gone bad. It had a strong taste of vinegar. The appetizers were bland but the entrees were flavorful and nicely presented. The server seemed to be new and easily flustered but service was prompt. At the end of dinner we had an uncomfortably long wait for the check . Our server seemed overwhelmed, and someone else finally delivered the check.
Wonderful food and nice atmosphere
The food was excellent. Our waiter helped with recommending items we were not familiar with and did a great job with suggestions. They had a nice wine list at all price points. The atmosphere was nice-- close tables but classy in presentation (similar to many places in New York). The staff was very collaborative and always attentive to our table (noticed our candle had gone out and quickly replaced it). We were seated immediately upon arrival. I also noticed they were quick to accommodate a table nearby who needed a little extra space for a pregnant lady. I'll definitely add this to my list of favorites places for date night.
Great Indian Food
I was so happy to find out that Copper now opens for lunch on the weekend. I went with two friends on a Sunday. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. We started with samosas and masala tea. Both were good. We all ordered different entrees. I had the goat cheese kofta. One friend had a vegetarian spinach dish and the other friend had a lamb dish. All were perfectly spiced and served with garlic naan. The food is always great and perfectly prepared.
Awesome Indian food!
We tried Copper for the first time on Valentines Day. The ambiance was cozy and romantic, just what we were hoping for. Even though it was busy the service was great. We are both a big fan of Indian food and agreed it was the best we have had in Charlotte. The prawns with coconut curry sauce was excellent!

Delicious and great ambiance! I would definitely go here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Copper.
The food was terrific and the staff was attentive, without being meddlesome. I have been to India 13 times, and love the cuisine, which was well represented. Kudos to all.
Still a Favorite
Copper is still one of our favorite places for Indian. It had been a while since we were last there and the menu had changed a little. No more Coppertinis (Their version of Martinis), but we were able to find some mixed drinks on the new menu that we really liked. We had the Sea-Bass and it was wonderful. Would highly recommend. It dawned on us as we started eating that we had not been asked about the spice level. My wife and I like our food a little on the spicy level and the default was mild. I would recommend that if you want your food a little more spicy that you specify that when ordering. Overall, I would definitely recommend Copper to anyone looking for a nice place to share an Indian meal.
Perfect place for Indian food in town! We had a fantastic Valentine dinner, great food, great service!!
Excellent as always!
The food and service were excellent (as always!) This time we had the masala-chili cauliflower appetizer, chicken biryani (not on the menu but they always make one for us!), apricot glazed chicken tikka and Lamb Kozhambu and a garlic naan. The lamb was very tender !
Great Indian food in Dilworth
Copper serves great Indian food, both traditional as well as modern dishes, in a converted house. Great ambiance, good service, friendly staff. Besides good Indian beers, they have a long wine list with some fine wines to chose from.
Mediocre food, nice ambiance
The ambiance at Copper was nice. Service was pretty good. Everyone was nice and pleasant. I had the chicken tikki masala. I ordered it mild and it was very spicy (even to my husband who loves spicy ). Other than the heat, there was absolutely no spices to taste. So disappointing. I've had much better Indian food at casual Indian restaurants for much less cost. I will say that the chicken and my husband's lanb was very tender. The naan bread was tasteless. Our appetizer-the vegetable balls was bland as well. It's sad when the best tasting item of your indian dinner is the rice.

The food was excellent as always. Service was good, i just wish the servers were more prompt with pouring wine. I think it's awful when you pay twice as much for a bottle of wine than your entree, but you have to serve yourself your own wine. The acoustics of the building and set up of the tables make it so that you can hear every conversation of the surrounding tables around you. That aside the food is so good we come back when we want a different spin on Indian food.
Great non buffet Indian
The staff at copper is wonderful. They were so helpful and kind. If you like heat, don't be afraid to ask them to kick your dish up a couple of notches. I shared the vegetable vindaloo and the veggie tikka masala with a friend, and both dishes were awesome. The gravy on both was thick and rich. The paneer in the tikka masala was an added bonus too. The naan was soft with the perfect amount of chewiness to it. And the raita was great to cool our tongues off with after the vindaloo.

It was my first time dining at Copper and I will return. Our server was great with explaining the menu options and made excellent recommendations. But most importantly the food was great!
My friend and I had a very nice lunch in the sunroom of Cooper. The food and service was excellent! I ordered the chicken with the spinach sauce and my friend ordered the chicken with the tomato based sauce. The lunch entrees came with naan and a bowl of rice.
Jewel of East Blvd.
Very nice find. Food and service was excellent. Very attentive staff.
We mosied on into Copper for restaurant week. I've heard great things about Copper but had never tried it, and while I like Indian food, it's not something I normally gravitate towards, so without the Queen's feast encouragement, I'm not sure we would have gone, which would have been tragic! Every person was a great representation of the restaurant - friendly and a pleasure to interact with. We were in an extreme rush, and they were very understanding with providing to-go boxes and trying to expedite service. I started with the Cabbage-Black Beab-Asparagus "Tikki-Chole" - sort of like a bean burger. It was a good combination of flavors. Next, I had the cod-bay scallop "caldin" - this was like a coconut curry soup with onions, snap peas, grapes, and baby scallops. This was delicious! I love coconut anything so it wasn't a surprise that I would order and love this dish. The scallops were a great accompaniment to the curry, and the side of rice gave a nice starch to help soak up all the flavor. My husband had the Tandoori T bone lamb with red wine mushrooms and Indian curry sauce. IT WAS SO GOOD! We ate every last piece around the bone, not wanting to waste a single bite. The manager shared that they were thinking about replacing the lamb chops with this T bone option. I don't think they could go wrong because it was so tender and flavorful. He mentioned they marinade it for 24 hours before cooking it. YUM! I'm so glad I took the opportunity to try Copper during restaurant week. I would definitely recommend it to those who are more verse in Indian food and enjoy the flavor and spice combination. Beautiful atmosphere, in an older house too. It's so intimate and romantic, especially if you grab a seat by the fire with a bottle of wine.
Great Neighborhood Restaurant
Food is always great and stuff are friendly and provide guidance on selections.
Food was fantastic. Started with the fried cauliflower as an app and it was exceptional. Tikka Masala for the main dish and it was the best I've had in my life. Must go if you are wanting to try Indian food for the first time. Will be going back soon.
Charlotte Restaurant Week
This week is an opportunity for Copper to shine, to celebrate the best of what is has to offer, and to wow its audience, but I felt short-changed instead. They fell short on consistency in many areas for a high end restaurant. Especially disturbing when server walked away with 1/3 of my mango lassi (assumed I was finished?) Compared to other Indian restos, I see no reason in returning to this place when I can get much better balance for so much less $$. Read my Tripadvisor review for all the reasons why.

Love Cooper. The food was fantastic. We started with the cauliflower appetizer, followed by the chicken tikka masala and the cod. Everything was fantastic. I actually wish I could branch out and try more stuff, but I just love the tikka masala so much that I can't bring myself to not order it. The service was on point as well.
Modern perdpective of an Indian Curry
We enjoyed the presentation and quality of this authentic Indian food. Much better than your average curry the style and flavors were truly fantastic . Having travelled in India and Sri Lanka and enjoyed quality Indian food there as well as in the UK. I was delighted with our find at Copper
Best Indian food in Charlotte!
Best Indian food in Charlotte! My family and I love this place. It has a gold star from my Indian dad too! Good combination of traditional and modern Indian dishes, so there's something for everyone (plus northern and a few southern dishes). Great service as well and the food is always delicious.
