Another excellent dinner at Ciera Restaurant with friends. Excellent service under the guidance of Maitre d' Tommy.

Restaurant is beautiful and the service is fantastic! We had a private booth which was very romantic and felt like we were having a private dinner. The food was outstanding! I highly recommend the lobster bisque and lamb chops.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and it was out first visit. The service was impeccable! The food was quite good for the price. We were seated at one of their semi private booths that have a curtain. The menu had 2 set selections where you each pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert or one could order off of the A La Carte menu. We each chose from the predefined menu and were not disappointed. I recommend the Lobster Bisque. The staff were highly attentive and we wanted for nothing. We did bring a bottle of wine and the restaurant charges a $25 corkage fee. Overall the experience was fantastic and will return on any subsequent visits to Lake Tahoe.
Choose Ciera to celebrate our best friends birthday. They treated us like royality. TROY was amazing... so friendly and poured our martinis just perfect. We loved everything about it. The four of us all ordered the same steak n lobster .... marvelous!!!
Ciera is the best, great food. I love this place
Buffet food has not changed in years. Please change the menu
Good food, decent value
I was in Tahoe by myself, this weekend. I treated myself to dinner at Ciera twice. I had reviewed their menu prior to my visit, so I had an idea of what I wanted to order. On Saturday, I had the bison carpaccio, cowboy rib-eye, and scalloped potatoes. Drinks were a glass of pinot noir, and then a cappuccino after dinner. The carpaccio was good, but a little thicker pieces than i was expecting. The steak was huge, tasty, and went well with the potatoes. The truffle salt went well on the steak. I could not finish my entree, so had a good portion to take home. And I didn't eat any of the offered bread, just because the portions were sizable. My total bill was $100, which I think was about right. Sunday night they offer two prix fixe menus; I ordered from the $60 menu. My courses were the escargot, macadamia nut crusted sea bass, and chocolate lava cake. That night I had a glass of white wine, and then a regular coffee. I rarely have escargot, but I enjoyed it with the garlic butter and the pastry crown. The sea bass was a large serving, with mashed potatoes beneath. The chocolate lava cake was moist and very rich, although no chocolate flowed out of it. Both nights I also received complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries. I've seen some people comment on websites about the prices being too rich. I would say they're on the appropriate side, both nights I was more than filled with good/very good food. Also, the service was very good and attentive, the servers were very prompt in filling my water and taking away my plates.

The prix fixed menu was amazing. Filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and the truffle salt was an amazing addition. Servers were on top of everything. Love this place and will definitely go back next time I'm in Tahoe.
Elegant dining with special attention to detail
Our service was very attentive without being overwhelming. The maitre d Tommy is one of the reasons we go back for special occasions. He is perfect in his role, and you can tell all the staff loves him too. We had the 3 course $40 menu and it was well worth it. Their french onion is the good old cheesey kind, so rich and tasty! I had perfectly done salmon and my husband had an excellent shrimp and clam linguine. He really enjoyed his lava cake and I had the berries. Thanks to all the staff for a special meal.
Always a favorite
Everything is always great here, we do the full steak dinner, with oysters to start, and this time the crab cake to share. Wine was great, selections great. White Truffle mac and cheese, and asparagus delicious. The steaks were high quality but they were not warm, they were cool, didn't send back, because didn't want the wait -
My wifes' birthday celebration dinner.
We had a very memorable experience. The staff was the best I have ever known. The food was excellent and all in my party were very impressed; even our three year old grandson.
The chocolate souffle was to die for!! I would recommend it to anyone
Can't beat this place! Chris, our server, was brilliant. Food was delicious and service outstanding. Really would recommend if you're in the area and want to treat yourself a little.

Ciera - MontBleu is amazing year in and year out!
Please, how does one comment on what the restaurant reviewers, Lake Tahoe foodies and all the fans who visit South Lake Tahoe over the years continue to make Ciera their special dining spot. That Ciera has been recognized again in 2015 as AAA Four Diamond Award Winner (√), being Lake Tahoe’s Only Four Diamond Restaurant (√), Voted Tahoe’s Best Restaurant For Dinner (√), Voted Tahoe’s Best Steakhouse (√) what more can be said...note, the Locals have discovered the very successful prix fixe dinner specials that encourages more visits. Our guests have great memories that the staff headed up by Maitre D's Tommy and Chris with Table Captain John efforts that insure a very lovely evening each and every time.
Great hidden get away
Great food, decent service, romantic ambiance, the black truffle salt is a must have.
Fabulous Dinning Experience!
We booked this restaurant for our out of town party of 8. The atmosphere was very private but not stuffy. The service was impeccable! Our waiter made wonderful suggestions, joked with us and made wonderful recommendations according to our personal tastes. Even if you aren't accustomed to using salt at the table, the Truffle Salt is amazing! Everyone in our party ordered something different and we were all delighted with our choice. The Cowboy Ribeye, Fillet, and Seabass were some of our favorites.
Fantastic All Around
We have dined here quite a few times and absolutely love it. The service is always wonderful, the food fantastic and the ambiance extremely charming. The last time we ate here was on Valentine's Day and everything I already said held true that night. We were 4 adults and 3 children (ages 3, 6, and 6). While they do not have a children's menu, they are extremely accommodating. I ordered 2 New York Strips for the 3 kids to split and they cut them table side and made a dish for each child with some fries. When dessert time came, I ordered a lemon sorbet that they spilt amongst the three kids for me. We always look forward to eating at Ciera's when we are in Tahoe.

Upscale steak dinner
The fried lobster appatizer was great. The salads were awesome The steaks were cooked exactly as we asked. The loaded baked potato and blistered asparagus were yummy. For desert my wife had a chocolate brûlée And I had the fresh berries & cream Both were must haves
My husband and I celebrated a combined early Valentine and 39th anniversary of meeting each other with a Friday prix fixe dinner at Ciera. What a lovely experience! Of course, we started with their dreamy lobster bisque. They added new prix fixe menu selections so my husband ordered the New York steak and I chose the rack of lamb, both of which were generous portions and cooked perfectly. We always enjoy our dinners at the Ciera Steakhouse at Montbleu whenever we're in Lake Tahoe...from the time we enter and welcomed with a friendly greeting from the host, throughout the whole dinner with such attentive service and delicious food, a magical presentation of chocolate covered strawberries, and warm smiles and thank-you's as we leave full and happy from a perfect evening. Thank you!!!

Went there for our anniversary and it was an amazing experience... food was great... our server was amazing, friendly, and very informative made our dining experience unforgettable... will definitely be going back when in the area.
Staff was friendly and attentive. The 3 course meal for $40 or $60 was a deal! I ordered steak and my boyfriend had salmon. The steak was a good size portion, almost couldn't finish it. everything was great- had no time to complain. The atmosphere is a little bit on the fancier side.
/Relaxing and good food.
We really enjoy eating at Ciera. The booths with the courtesy drapes are awesome. The food is top notch. We have eaten there three times and have never been disappointed. We have been fortunate to have John as a server and he remembered us from two years ago. Awesome.
My husband and I went here for an anniversary dinner. The staff was friendly the food and drinks were amazing. Can't wait to go again
Divine dinner experience
Dinner at Ciera Steakhouse in the Montbleu Resort always makes for such a wonderful night out. Food is utterly delicious! I ordered the Prix Fixe dinner, which was a great value. They start you with a selection of warm crusty bread with three different flavor butters. I opted for the cranberry walnut bread which was sooooo good. Then I enjoyed a bowl of steaming hot lobster bisque which was just out of this world scrumptious!!! My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and juicy delicious, especially with a sprinkle of that incredible truffle salt. Then came the perfect finish--molten Chocolate Lava Cake that was just divine. And when I thought I have gone to heaven, they bring chocolate-covered strawberries on a cloud. The ambiance is definitely relaxing and romantic, and the service is perfectly warm and spot on. Ciera is definitely my favorite whenever I'm in town at South Lake Tahoe.
Best place for a romantic meal in all of South Shore.
Three S's....not so much....
My husband and I eat here every year we visit Tahoe. This year I wanted onion soup, wedge salad and souffle. Soup was warm, salad was okay but the kitchen messed up my souffle and it would have been another 45 minutes to have another one made. We also never received the chocolate covered strawberries. We will go back for the price fixe menu but won't hold out hope its going to be our favorite any longer.....
An elegant place to celebrate
I do not have enough good things to say about Ciera. Everything was thought through... from the selection of flavored butter for bread to the hand-signed Happy Anniversary card, signed by Maitre d, chef and server. The booth we sat in was a romantic retreat from the hustle and bustle of casino lights. The staff gave us appropriate time as well as attention when I was selecting a glass of wine. The food was delicious and served with a truffle salt grinder (a nice touch, especially since my date had never had an opportunity to try truffle salt). The price, though on the higher end, was appropriate for the quality of service, food presentation and ease of service. I will not take a trip to South Lake without making an effort to stop in at Ciera. Oh, and the chocolate dipped strawberries served on the dry ice with coffee is not to be missed! Truffle mac n cheese, perfect med-rare lamb, Carpaccio of bison tenderloin!!!! Exquisite=)
Best in Tahoe
We have been coming here for years, Service is always outstanding! Food is great. Great place for special dinners like Birthday or Anniversary.
This is old school dining. Nothing fresh about this place. This is how things were once run in the Frank Sinatra days. We now like fresh food and freshly plated food! This place needs to get with the times. The food was terrible and old. Tasted like the walk-in refrigerator. Beautiful plating but when your whole dessert has an 1/8 inch pudding skin-like coating on it, it was clearly prepared days ago! Thumbs down!! Its all hype!!

Outstanding service. Our table was moved to a newly opened booth shortly after ordering to provide us more privacy . Service was provided by professionals, not working a job but performing a career and it showed in tenor and performance.

Excellent dining experience
Made a reservation here for four and we were promptly sat at a promised table while other parties without a reservation were given a much longer wait time. After dining, I can absolutely understand why. The service was fantastic, quick, and effortless. Every member of the staff did their jobs very well and knew their products. The steaks, crab, and elk were all great - not only in flavor and texture but in presentation. Do not skip coffee service, splurge and get it with dessert. You won't regret it. Would happily dine here again for a nice meal when in the South Lake Tahoe area.
Great restaurant - highly recommended!
I have been to Ciera many times and I have not been disappointed. The food and service here are excellent. The standouts for me are the black and white martini, steak au poive, au gratin potatoes, and the lobster bisque is amazing. This is a great place for a special occaison or with a group. Highly recommended.
Food really, really bad.
The food was very disappointing, almost inedible. I ordered the chicken, totally overdone and stringy. Sauce and presentation were not appealing. I couldn't believe what the plate looked like. Wife ordered the Sea Bass. I tasted it and it seemed to be nearly off, but ok. Flavor was masked by the crust, which wasn't very good. We both ate about 1/4 of our meals. Staff didn't ask about this, other than "do we want a to go box?" Absolutely not. This was some of the worst food I have ever paid for. Our waiter and bus person were great overall. The restaurant is in a casino, smoky and really not classy. Save your money and try another place. While It's a steak house, I can't comment on the stakes, but by judging from other tables next to us, I wasn't impressed. That's why I ordered the chicken. Overall, a waste of time and money. The wine list, however, is great with a fantastic selection of wines by the glass.
Already cannot wait to go back! Fil, our server, was absolutely incredible and made our night! The food was gorgeous - we had the set meal and every dish was delicious (escargot, bison carpaccio, lamb, seabass....). Martinis were amazing. Definitely worth a trip.

Upon arrival we were seated in a noisy back room and not in one of the private booths. We asked for the manager and when he heard about our special evening he immediately moved us to a private booth with drawn curtains for privacy. The food was impeccable and stemware was up to par with the quality of wine we brought. For a private romantic experience ask for a booth when making a reservation.
Good steaks, great service
The steaks were cooked as ordered and delicious. Service was great. But ran out of baked potatoes and we were there way before closing time.
My friend read a review so we decided to try it! We love Chart House and that nice restaurant at Harrahs We all had chateaubriand. It was excellent! Service was excellent. Would return in a heartbeat. We have a timeshare so are in the area often.
