We had the chef's special menu which gave you a choice of 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. Sine there were two of use we got to try everything on the chef's special and everything was really great. We had some wines by the glass. Some of them are pretty expensive but they are truly great wines so that was a way to try some of them without buying a whole bottle. They were all good but my palate is not good enough to tell them from a more standard and less expensive wine by the glass. Glad I tried though. Would gladly go again. The service and view were both great.

Romantic Celebration!

Dined on April 5, 2016

My boyfriend and I decided to go out for my birthday and we absolutely loved Cielo. It was so romantic watching the sun go down over the beautiful St. Louis Arch. The food was fantastic. Our appetizer was a little pricey for the amount of food that was given, but the entree was perfect and we were very full after we were finished eating. The bar was extremely upscale and the drinks were mixed well. I would definitely come back again for a nice occasion!

Good Food, very expensive wine list, great view but the noisest restaurant I have been in for a long time. It was truly impossible to have a conversation. Truly, I have been in sports bars that were quieter.

Easter Brunch

Dined on March 27, 2016

Easter brunch was good, but very overpriced for what they offered. The carved prime rib was fabulous. I would have expected carved ham on Easter Sunday, but they just had some overcooked ham slices sitting in a serving tray - a disappointment for sure. Pasta station didn't seem to be operational, at least there was nobody manning it the times we went by. Very disappointed that they ran out of tiramisu, I had really been looking forward to it. The gelato was very good, but the rest of the desserts were pretty but tasteless. Overall, it was nice but certainly not worth $79 per person.

Frequent Guess

vip
Dined on March 27, 2016

As always, Cielo never disappoints. The food was excellent and the Cielo family handled the influx of customers like pros. They had smiles, treated the families like family. Excellent time had by everyone. I would recommend Cielo for any type of meal from drinks and small plates to an wonderful bottle of wine and complete tour of Italy. The thing that amazed me was the chef right in the middle of the action.

Cieolo's Easter Brunch

Dined on March 27, 2016

Easter brunch is a challenge, but Cielo's was perfect. Great view, wonderful ambiance. For being "children friendly" the young ones were great. Easter bunny working the crowd, etc. Although there were a lot of people, one never got a sense of being crowded. Food was perfect. Several different kinds of salads, each served in a small container. One was served in a small mason jar. Entrees were awesome. Fresh oyster, ahi tuni, raw salmon, shrimp, etc. My vegetarian companion found plenty of food, and I had the prime rib. Deserts were outstanding. We will visit this again for a non-brunch experience. This must the best brunch in St. Louis.

This was a really fantastic experience and I can't wait to come back. The bison filet was perfect and it was awesome that I was able to get Opus One by the glass to pair with it......couldn't have been better. My wife's fish was amazing too along with dessert, salads, soup, you name it and we were blown away. The old fashioned tequila cocktail was really enjoyable and I liked how they did just one large spherical ice cube in the glass.

Dined on March 13, 2016

My wife and I dined here for the first time, while staying at the Four Seasons to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The food and service was outstanding, especially the octopus dish. We requested the most romantic seating, which didn't happen. Also, the noise level was almost imbareble due to loud, obnoxious patrons. We won't be back. For the amount we spent, we want to enjoy our time without listening to the squawk and cackling of others.

Food quality was completely disappointing today And since we have been to this place so many times it has been noted that the quality is defiantly started going down in last year or so. Disappointing, will not done or have Sunday breakfast for a while.... Hopefully it will get better and will become aga none of our favorite places in St Louis.

Cielo falls short of reputation

Dined on February 6, 2016

On a first visit to Cielo, following multiple personal recommendations, we found Cielo to be strong on service and short on the food experience. The staff is impeccably trained. Every employee was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly...the best service we've seen in St Louis. The food, however, was muted. From texture to taste, the experience lacked the excitement that attracted our attention. Be it an arrabiata absent the spice to lamb ragout without much flavor, the food fell well below reputation and thus expectations--and did not parallel the exceptional service.

Breakfast was great, just pricey

Dined on January 4, 2016

No one else was in the restaurant when we went which made it perfect. Just me and my husband. The waitress was attentive but not overly. The music was too loud for 7am. Food was not a good value and was not as up to par as I thought it would be. However, good none the less.

Dined on December 25, 2015

$85 for a buffet is insane and the "fresh squeezed" orange juice tasted like Tropicana mixed with pineapple juice. The Eggs Benedict English muffins were so hard I needed a steak knife to cut them. Then the staff actually tried to charge me for 3 people instead of 2 and separately for the drinks, which were supposed to be included.

Holiday Dinner

Dined on December 19, 2015

Had a wonderful dinner at Cielo. Started with the Winter Tuscan salad followed by the risotto of the day which was a smoked chicken risotto . Finished with the a chocolate dessert recommended by our waitress. Enjoyed the sommelier's recommendations on wine to pair with each course. A gastric delight, highly recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous setting and great food

Dined on December 17, 2015

Took my wife for her birthday to this establishment. It is a very high-class setting, set on the 8th floor of the Four Seasons hotel. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace where you can dine when the weather is nice. It was a tad too cold for that for us, but we enjoyed the Christmas lights and decorations adorning the terrace area. The food and wine was fantastic and the service was stellar. I had the bison filet and she had the seafood ravioli, and we shared a tiramisu for dessert. Will definitely be going back. It is a tad pricey (our meal came to $160) but worth it for special occasions such as this.

My favorite for brunch

vip
Dined on December 13, 2015

My running buddies and I come here after all the downtown races to refuel and socialize. The service is always impeccable, from the valet to the restaurant, you're treated like royalty. The brunch offering is huge, plus the availability of an a la carte menu. The pancakes are delicious, bacon is thick, and portions are generous. Well worth the money.

Thanksgiving

vip
Dined on November 26, 2015

Cielo pulled off one of the greatest Thanksgiving feast I have ever enjoyed. The staff was in great spirits, the chef was deeply evolved. The special touches added to each dish was noticeable. The turkey was probably the best I have ever eaten. My hat is off to everyone at Cielo. Fantastic and thank you for doing such a wonderful feast.

Dined on November 14, 2015

Drinks at the bar were good, bar tender started off cold, perhaps uninterested. When seated inside by window view is blocked by trees outside. Service (Patrick) was/is very good. Among the best servers we've had anywhere; knowledgable about the menu and wine, very engaging. The food didn't come close to expectation. The octopus was tough, the lamb tough and not all that interesting, veal cheek was ok. Didn't bother with dessert.

Very rare occasion

Dined on November 6, 2015

First let me say, Cielo along with the staff are my favorite. I have constantly bragged about it and will continue. This is the only time I've dined there and did not get service for 10 minutes at the table and did not get anything explained to me. I am only voicing this because I found it odd. Maybe an off day, or that I'm a regular that visits (although I am not a flashy visitor) but I brought a pretty impressive guest amd of course I bragged to him how detailed the staff was. I think I'm also voicing this because it dawned on me how much I really enjoy that information and interaction from the stellar staff. Keep up the good work and keep talking to the guests :)

Great atmosphere....and the food is the best. They cook a really good steak and have interesting dining choices, like Norwegian Sea Bass! The wine list is also amazing.
