Kitchen works hard to produce a good product. However, Osso Buco was reheated, old meat. Salad was okay, but not special. Cannoli was simple, but tasty. I'd recommend if they are not busy.

Good Resto and Friendly waiters except 1

Dined on April 9, 2016

Food was good - Tiramisu was okay but the lava cake and creme brulee were superb. We ordered calamari - it was okay - nothing above average. The seafood risotto was very good. spaghetti Neri was also very good. Fish platter was okay. I like that the TWC building had free validation. There was a bus boy that was not too friendly - but otherwise we had a very pleaseant server and manager.

You Must Eat Here

Dined on March 19, 2016

I took my husband there for his birthday, and was extremely happy. The food was absolutely AMAZING! The squid was cooked to perfection. The wine that they recommended was an ideal match for the meal. Great, friendly service. I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate my husband. We will definitely be back!

Overall good food but not special for Italian

Dined on March 19, 2016

The food was overall good tasting and presentation was nice. The menu was typical with what you would find at any Italian restaurant. The price was what is to be expected in downtown LA not too expensive for Italian but not a bargain place either. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. My drink was an old fashioned and it was prepared the traditional way and what you would find at any Olive garden style restaurant. I guess I was expecting more from an LA non change restaurant to be a little fancier perhaps along the mixologist style, Old Fashioned. The cherry was the cheap maraschino cherry not a Luxardo gourmet style cherry, nothing special and the bitters and simple syrup was along the same lines of cheaper bar style drinks. Drinkable and clean but nothing to write home about. Overall simple menu, clean, good tasting food but probably would not go back due to lack of imagination in almost anything served there. Since I'm not a LA local I think I'll try something different when in town.

Good Italian food w/ great service at good price

Dined on March 18, 2016

We needed a place near downtown w/ decent food that would take us early, so we could go to Springsteen. Shared pizza, insalata mista, lasagna, and tagliatelle w/ wild boar. Also a great bottle of wine and cannoli to finish. I'll definitely return!

Service slow to Start

vip
Dined on March 13, 2016

The service was so slow to start we almost walked out. We waited for a good 15 minutes just to get water for all of us and menus, the waitress didn't even come by. Once we did see the waitress and mentioned that we needed to be out of there for an event the waitress picked up the pace. The food was good, but nothing to rave about.

Ho Hum

Dined on March 13, 2016

Food was very mediocre as was the service. Went before a Kings game, had a reservation for 6pm. Sat us with no menus, no water, no bread. Took at least 15 minutes to get a waiter, menus, etc. Food was extremely mediocre. Good size portions but not so tasty!

Dined on March 12, 2016

In addition to being a neighborhood gem and a great place for outdoor dining, I'd also recommend the happy hour. Great drink specials from 3-8p on Fridays. Received great service while there. The food was really tasty and plentiful. Like the restaurant info mentions, definitely park in the TCW building. As soon as you exit the parking structure, you're in the courtyard of the restaurant. Very convenient. Also, make sure to get your parking validated. The restaurant gives you a voucher good for 7 hours of free parking. We'd definitely return again.

We always go to Casa Nostra before games at Staples. Better food and less commercial and crowded than the places at LA Live. Food is excellent and they are very accommodating of diets, allergies, etc.

Customer service was superb, food, not so much

Dined on March 6, 2016

Went to this restaurant before a Clippers game. Couldn't find the free parking, but that is certainly not the fault of the restaurant. Happy Hour was still going on, on a Saturday, no less, and the drinks were $5. Such a deal. The service could not have been more attentive and it seemed that not one but two managers were also running around making sure that everything was fine. The food was, well, meh. The Caesar salad compared to every other Caesar salad that I have had at an Applebees or Cocos. They did split it for us, which was very nice. I had the linguine with clams special that was not terribly warm and just OK. Would I come back? Yes, definitely for Happy Hour, would I come back for dinner, probably not.

Great Italian Restaurant in Downtown LA

Dined on March 6, 2016

Casa Nostra Ristorante is a terrific restaurant in downtown LA near the corner of Ninth and Figueroa. My group was looking for an alternative to the overpriced and extremely noisy restaurants at LA Live. Casa Nostra Ristorante did not disappoint us. The food was excellent, and the service was fantastic. The owner also came around to our table a few times to make sure we were enjoying our experience. The restaurant has a great mix of Italian food and seafood. They also have several specials on the menu everyday. If you are looking for a good spot for dinner before a Clippers, Lakers or Kings game I would highly recommend Casa Nostra Ristorante.

Our group of six really enjoyed the food and service of this cozy downtown restaurant. The servers were helpful and attentive, and every meal (we all had varying pastas) was a hit. The bocconcini salad in particular was excellent. We would go back again, and would certainly recommend to friends!

A location that is clearly meant for locals and those coming from a long days work. Whether its a business meeting or a night out with a loved one, this place does a quiet job of going above your expectations. Not flashy, loud, or "party-themed", it is a perfect place for a quiet night out. The manager was well mannered and walked over to all the tables and softly made everyone feel like they were family. A "fantastic" touch.

Great place!!! Our server was super attentive and the food was amazing!! Huge fan of pesto and their fusilli with shrimp & pesto was so creamy & delicious!!!! My friend had the braised pork & there was nothing left but the bone. They were so accommodating when I asked to changed the tv channel to the Kings game. $4 beer for happy hour was just the icing on the cake. Will definitely be back.

Very Good Downtown Italian Spot

Dined on January 31, 2016

Waling distance to the Music Live area of Downtown Los Angeles. No valet but free parking around the block. Very good Italian food with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice wine list and daily specials. Moderate pricing and excellent service. We liked the Bruchetta, Boar Pasta Entree and the Salads were delicious. Topped off with a nice Brunelli de Montipulcino and what's not to like.

I was in L.A. for a comedy show. Looking for a place to eat before dinner. Found Casa Nostra on Yelp, it sounded inviting from reviews, and liked their website. I must say that even though the place was packed and very busy, I didn't feel like we were ignored. Friendly staff and good food. Would totally come back.

After swearing off the Palm because of how poorly they treated may wife when she fell in their BH restaurant, I've been looking for a good spot for meals before games at Staples Center and I now have my spot. The food as Casa Rostra is always well prepared, the service friendly and efficient and after about four recent meals there, I already feel like part of the family. The kale salad, which is not generally one of my favorite things to order, is terrific. A nice presentation with sliced apples and dried cranberries. And I can't get past the orecchiette which is as good as it gets. I'll be there again this week.
