Capriccio Grill - Peabody Hotel Memphis Ratings and Reviews
Nice restaurant with a pleasant layout. Try the beef brisket sandwich or dinner entree.

Sunday brunch was amazing! So much high quality food. The service was so amazing, we didn't wait for a thing.
We were in Memphis for a week and this was our favorite dinner spot! Gia was a professional and perfect waitress and the food was delicious! Thank you, Capriccio Grill!
Breakfast, simple yet elegant.
Intentionally choose Capriccio to have breakfast with friends from Hawaii. They were impressed. Food was tasty. Omelets where great. Pastries and fruits were nice of touch.

We just got in to the Peabody for the evening and we were worn out from our travels so we did not want to venture out for dinner. Our server was perfect. The food was good. The biggest negative was the overpricing as is typical for hotel food.
I heard Capriccio Grill was very good and it did not disappoint.
Wanted a pasta with marinara - not available. Ordered chicken parm because it came with marinara and linguini. Waited 50 minutes, pasta was over-cooked, sauce had large pieces of onions and was spicy.. This is a restaurant for people who eat Italian food every 6 months.

Waited 40 minutes for an omelette. Had to order it twice as the original order was lost. Requested replenishment silverware that never came. Was seated at a table that was not adequately cleaned from the previous party. This restaurant has serious service issues.
Great food Great service
We took customers - service and food were excellent We will definitely return
I did not like that there was a 20% service charge added to the ticket, for a table of 2, without being told. Had I not already tallied the tab and asked my husband, he would have tipped an additional 30% on top of the inflated price by just looking at the total. It is deceitful to try and sneak in a service charge. Tell us or don't include it. It actually screwed the server because we usually tip 30% being that we have both been in the industry but to hide it and not disclose it, I did not feel the need to increase it. Bad business practice. VERY bad practice.
Perfect Valentine Day brunch.
What a great place for Sunday brunch. We made reservations and were seated right away. Our server was helpful and the buffet had a wide variety of dishes. I love that they serve a whole pot of coffee at the table. We will definitely go back.
Great food, nice service, with a couple frowns
I've been here for lunch, but I love the Peabody and wanted to return for a Valentine Dinner. They were less busy guest-wise than expected but the staff was bustling. Our server and the manager were thoughtful and friendly, even stepping to the lobby bar to double-check a cocktail. Food was timed perfectly, with nothing rushed, allowing us to eat salad before the entree, for example. The salad, bread, and pasta were all delicious. His steak and seafood, he said, were great as well. But-- a boisterous group of three who would NOT be satisfied was sat next to us and their loud complaining took away from our experience. And, it seemed to frazzle the staff. My server tossed my not even half-eaten pasta before I could ask to have it wrapped. My wrapped salad wasn't returned to us, either. But, the server did have them rush an order of pasta to wrap when she realized she'd thrown away my unfinished meal. We also didn't notice until after leaving that they'd attached a service charge to the meal, which is not standard for the restaurant at my past visits or for two guests (usually groups of at least six). So, with our own generous tip, about 40% was added to our bill. If it's a double-table, I think the mandatory service charge should come with a verbal warning.
Service not equal to price
It was Valentine's Day dinner for us and the meal salad came out after an hour and the server and kitchen screwed up the order and our main dish didn't come till 1.5 hours after. We were told it was because we ordered off the a la carte menu that they were having problems timing the food. An expensive restaurant like this should be on point for timing meals regardless of which menu we ordered from. Thankfully the food was decent, and they comped us some of the food, but it wasn't worth the time and the hype this restaurant was supposed to be.
Sunday Brunch, great food and ambiance.
Cappriccio for Sunday Brunch is family friendly and great for kids. A touch of class in the midst of historic Peabody and The Ducks. Worth the drive and the dollars.

The meal was fantastic. I had the steak and it was mouth-watering delicious.
The service was spotty. We sat a long time before we were acknowledged. The lighting is off (too bright) so the atmosphere/ambiance is lacking - the setting/decor reminded me of a casino cafeteria. It was noisy (baby crying) and decor was out of date. The food was OKAY and all this for about 100/person did not meet my expectations.

It's way too overpriced for the quality. There are a lot of steak houses in town that do a lot better job for the same price
We were in a bit of a rush plus didn't want a lot to eat. Once that was stated, Capriccio's did not disappoint. Service with efficient and cooperative and responsive to our needs. Great recommendations. The food was typically good and met a variety of diet needs; vegan, simple and more complex. A good selection available right from the menu with good preparations and presentations. Even though we didn't have a lot of time to invest, the dinner was quite nice and did not seem rushed. The staff took care of us professionally and respectfully.
Best steak I've ever had
Melt in your mouth perfectly pink steak coupled with asparagus and some nice (but a little pricy) wine made for an amazing meal. It was perfect for date night.
Capriccio Grill has a Brilliant Menu
Wow! I had a wonderful dining experience at the Capriccio Grill. The food was divine and the service was right on point.

Love that they do French press coffee! Very good. Homemade ice cream was a treat as well. Our server, Rose was a delight.

We had a group of six and the meal was not up to snuff. Soups were served warm, not hot. Reuben was only corned beef and bread and chicken panini was marginal. Coffee was good. One waitress disappeared and never came back with check. This was on New Year's Day so hopefully the holiday staff did not reflect the normal kitchen or wait staff efforts.
The food, decor, and ambience are fine. My server started by using my name but mispronounced it for nearly the entire evening, addressing me as "Mr. Higgins." I asked her to check with the bartender to see if he used Lefty O'Doul's bloody mary mix, and I repeated it so she'd remember, and she came back and said "They didn't have that Willy...whatever you said." There was no napkin with my place setting, which my server didn't notice. She didn't offer me bread until 15 minutes after she first came to my table. My soup didn't arrive until half an hour after I was seated. My charge was $2 more than it should have been, and I had to wait some more to have the total adjusted. Service here is a joke. Go to Backyard Burgers instead.
Christmas Dinner good but service was sluggish
The Peabody is always great for any holiday - totally great hotel - the Christmas dinner was good and I love this restaurant - but it was very evident that they were understaffed for the crowd on Christmas as service was extremely slow and sluggish - you don't pay $40 for a meal to have your water and tea glasses go empty twice during the meal - would return but our whole group was very disappointed with the service.
Lovely Christmas Eve
We went for a meal at 4:30 PM on Christmas Eve. The hotel was beautiful. At 5:00, a couple of us left the table to watch the lobby ducks parade to the elevator to go up to the roof for the night. When we asked the waitress to take a group photo of our table, she suggested a photo in front of the Christmas tree instead and was very patient at taking photos until we got a good one. It was a wonderful holiday meal.
Wonderful for lunch and we all enjoyed the food and the wonderful dessert
I and 3 of my girlfriends get together at Christmas each year and this year we chose Capriccio Grill. I am so glad we did!! Excellent food and service. Our waiter even posed with us for a picture!!! You made our Christmas experience wonderful. And we didn't have to hock the children either!!
Delicious meal, chef's special was 2 rib eye's with eggs. Shared by 2 people, worth the price. Excellent wine selection. Outstanding service.
Always a very good steak
Always a very good steak
Food just not that great for the price
The food just wasn't that great for the price. We tried mostly the past dishes and veal. Both were mediocre at best. My veal, one of the more expensive dishes on the menu, was tough and the plate lacked any color or interest. Basically cooked veal with cheese melted on top. Not very appealing to the eye or palate. We did not try the steaks. The breakfast buffet the next day (built in to our room rate but otherwise $20pp) was okay. Nothing fancy or more than what we had at other chain hotel buffets with the exception of french pressed coffee. The staff is wonderful and the location is beautiful over looking the Hotel lobby. We did not register complaints because it was a convenient meal after a long days travel but in the future If we return I will seek out another dining spot.
Understated elegance and sophistication.
I shall certainly dine here again, and my next visit to Memphis will include staying at this beautiful, grand hotel.
Quick Dinner Worked
Stopped in for a quick (but good) dinner before and event. Once again, not disappointed. No time to eat as much as we wanted but what we had was quite good and well-served. All was hot, prepared well and most tasty. Plentiful portions and the calamari was quite tender and crispy; not always the case. The shrimp and scallops seemed fresh enough to have come from the Mississippi! Great place, convenient and we always know what we will get and know it will be a good value and return on investment. Keep up the good work!
Left after 35 min & still order hadn't been taken
I got there at 7:00 which was when we had our reservation. At 7:10 our drink order was taken & she asked if we were ready to order. We weren't ready but were when she brought our drinks, at which point she told us to hold on. She went to another table & took their order. She did not come back to our table until 7:35 which is when we asked for our check. They weren't that busy. There were empty tables. What we smelled of the food, smelled great but at the point we were starving.

THE STAFF WAS VERY YOUNG AND SEEMED TO BE VERY INEXPERIENCED. THE FOOD WAS SERVED COLD. THE SAUCE ON THE PASTA SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN MICROWAVED AND WAS VERY THICK. THE SALAD AND DESSERTS WERE BOTH GOOD.

Wonderful Food, Awesome Service
I decided to try this restaurant because of Downtown Dining Week 2015. I'm so pleased with my decision! I made reservations the and was seated promptly. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The quality of the food was absolutely stellar! Minestrone for a starter, Lobster Ravioli for an entree, and a light cheesecake for dessert. The food was so delicious! I will certainly return and I strongly encourage others to give this restaurant a try.
I'm always a bit wary of hotel restaurants, but this was so good that we ended up coming back for breakfast! Excellent food and very good service - friendly and attentive, but not too in your face.
We were in Memphis on vacation, staying at The Peabody, and were very pleased to get a reservation at Capriccio. The staff is outstanding, attentive and friendly. The Signature Steak is out-of-this-world!
Melt In Your Mouth
You definitely get what you pay for at this restaurant! These steaks are by far the best I have ever had. We had a reservation and they were ready right on time and the service was wonderful. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, as well as satisfy your inner foodie, you've found the right place!!
