Blind Dog Ratings and Reviews
Food was outstanding and so was the service. We would love to come again!!
Not the same Blind Dog
I'm probably a couple of years late on this. I went to Blind Dog years ago when it was it's own restaurant. The sushi was amazing and that really stuck with me as you tend to remember good sushi. Last week my husband and I decided to head to Park City for date night...I really talked-up Blind Dog to him - gushing about how great it was! I was so disappointed. We shared five maki and not one of them were any good. The fish quality was fine but honestly there was no flavor even though we ordered some of the "fancier" rolls. I don't mind paying for good sushi but it's a huge disappointment to feel like you wasted $100 on dinner.
The waiter we had, Steven, seemed to have his mind somewhere else. My wife ordered an appetizer for our daughter. I was going to order some oysters, but before I could say anything, he was gone. I figured with what I would be eating for my entree, I would be fine. My wife and I both ordered cocktails. She finished hers and the waiter asked if she would like another. When I finished mine, he never asked if I would like another one. After eating, we were ordering desert. My wife told him what our daughter would like and he turned and was leaving, when we said we are not done.

Food needs serious attention
I've never had to season my own soup, maybe 2 little pieces of tofu in my kids' watery miso soup, the tempura was inedible (super greasy, virtually no batter), the wine pour was the stingiest glass I've had that I can remember, sushi also on the small side, forgot one of my appetizers. Oh my. The place has potential-nice clubby atmosphere- but I get the feeling no one is minding the store esp on the food end. The evening was saved by our kind waiter who did the right thing and took the tempura off the bill

Have been to Blind Dog every time we visit Park City. This was the first time I ever felt like this would be our last visit. Two hamburgers grossly over cooked ( although they did take them off the bill), middle of the meatloaf was tasty in the middle but edges were "eh" at best.. Everything was just "ok".
Blind dog does sushi right
My wife, daughter and I went to Blind Dog on the recommendation of the restaurant reservation person at Deer Valley Lodge. Their approach to sushi was very different and really, really good. Vegi tempura was fantastic and the eel roll was wonderful. If we had more time, we would have gone back before we left Park City.

Yes, you can find good sushi in Utah!
We sampled sushi, cocktails and desert. I am from Seattle, the quality creativity, and value of the sushi is on par with "it" spots in Seattle. Fish is fresh, SLC is only a few hours from the coast. Cocktails were tasty and generous. For desert (they specialize in bread pudding) we had chocolate croissant pudding awesomeness. Can't wait to go back and explore the rest oft the he menu.

Our new favorite Park City restaurant
The Blind Dog is a real find. It's not on Main Street, so you won't walk past it, but it's worth the drive (not far). Great sushi and seafood -- be sure to try some of the very creative specialty rolls. Wonderful service and a very tasty blackberry margarita!

Perfect in every way. Sushi was fabulous! Dinner entrees were outstanding. Our "off Main Street" dining experience was well with the trip. I also recommend the BoneYard for casual (ski pants still on) relaxing night cap! Great place!
Great energy, comfortable dining rooms, excellent service, wonderful menu selections. I had the shellfish combo. Delicious. And reasonable. Will return next trip.

Awesome food and atmosphere without any attitude. Service the best we've had in park city.
Everybody got what they wanted
Four of us went for dinner and took advantage of the diverse menu. The youngsters ordered sushi while the more mature folks went for the more conventional menu. Both offered a range of tempting dishes that did not disappoint other arrival. Service by Spencer was outstanding. All of the dishes delighted. The live music was enjoyable but did not overpower. A winner and definite do-over.

Nice, laid back place with super fresh seasonal ingredients. Our third visit and we'll be back again when we visit Park City.
Love the food, specially the sushi. Great music and our server was specially helpful

Great creative menu! My blacked tuna gumbolaya was amazing as was the cheddar pretzel fondue. And the bannana foster bread pudding a la mode is something I may kill for. The ambiance of the main dining room was so so but that was improved by the great, not too loud music. I will definitely be back. Loved it!
Rude people next to us
Everything was great at Blind Dog, except the incredibly rude woman seated next to us. She sent back a cocktail because she didn't like it, and she sent back a burger twice, once because it was overcooked and again when it was under-cooked. She was so annoying and high-maintenance that it kind-of ruined our experience. However, we felt that our waitress, Stephanie (I think) handled it all very well and we told her that after they had left.

Not my fave...
I know that it was the week of the Sundance Film Festival so sane people might opt to stay out of restaurants, but hey, we hadn't been there in a few years so thought we'd give Blind Dog another shot. They were understanding and accommodating when our party of five shrunk to only four. We started with oysters which were good, but it was odd that they arrived long before our wine and or cocktails did. I ordered the fried green tomato caprese salad. It was delicious but a touch skimpy on the burrata. My husband ordered the gumbo which he declared dry and boring, and the mac and cheese, which he thought was horrible. One friend ordered a ribeye, which was not as good as it should have been for $60, and the other person had sushi which she claimed was good. All in all I can't say if the less than stellar performance was made so by it being crazy week or the place is losing its shine. During the course of our several week stay in PC we tried a few different places for lunch and dinner, all of which were better than Blind Dog. Not bad, just not great.

Great menu and great service.
This place is absolutely incredible! The aesthetics are on point, and the food is magnificent. The tone of the restaurant is a combination of upscale and relaxed. The service is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and I would recommend this place to anybody looking to have a tasty meal and a good time.

Passed by this restaurant on many Sundance shuttle bus rides, but we decided to try it this trip. They have two kitchens, one for sushi/Japanese and American. I tried a set appetizers, beginning with miso soup which was very savory, then a huge serving vegetable tempura, carrots, red peppers squash, tomatoes, onions with a dipping sauce which was very good, and finished with kobe beef spring roll, i.e. probably waygu, which disappointed, being a little gristly. Partner had blue bass with shredded brussel sprouts and bacon bits which she liked. I tasted both and the fish tasted fishy and the sides under-seasoned. So, my review is mixed.
Always a Great Dining Experience
Probably my favorite restaurant in Park City. Always consistently a very good meal. Really makes me feel special that the wait staff knows my favorite cocktail and entree. While my favorite time to go to Blind Dog is in the summer when the patio is open, I also enjoy the warm and cozy ambiance inside in the winter. It's a little pricey, so I save my visits to Blind Dog for nice occasions.
A consistent winner!
Love this restaurant. We are frequent diners here and it never disappoints. The food is great and so is the service.

Second time , not as good as first
Menu needs diversification , some in our party could not find selection to their choosing . Noise level above comfortable conversation.
Best restaurant in Park City!
We dined out every night in Park City, trying the spots with the best ratings. All were good, but the Blind Dog was in a category by itself. The food was phenomenal, truly above and beyond any other. Service was superior. And the ambiance added to the appeal. First, the place has a fun personality, exemplified by the humor on the menu. Second, a young and very talented piano player was entertaining us with nice background music: modern tunes, with a jazzy presentation. On inquiry I discovered he was a student at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. No surprise, but sadly for those who read this he has likely now returned to school. A true talent, and a Park City native, so I expect he will return. Fabulous spot. Our clear favorite!
Good restaurant, bad atmosphere.
I really wanted to like Blind Dog because of the origin of the name and the widespread presence of dogs in the artwork, however, the restaurant was simply too loud. It was essentially a large room with several televisions and several large parties of diners. Will try again during a non-peak time.

Place was packed at peak after Christmas week. We were seated in what looked like additional banquet space. Food and service were just ok. I'd like to come back and sit in the restaurant.
On a busy New Year's eve, both the food and service were very good.
