Blackfish - Conshohocken Ratings and Reviews
The Scottish Salmon is always a standout. The beignets are a must.
Food again amazing!!!
We were treated to a wonderful Foie Gras focused menu and everything we put into our mouth was wonderful. The foie gras was among if not the best we ever had. It really is our go to place when we need to have a great meal at a BYOB restaurant.

Excellent service and fabulous food. We had the foie gras tasting menu - fantastic!!! Have been there several times and plan to revisit again and again. It's pricy but we save it for a special occasion and the food and experience is well worth the money.
Our dinner at Blackfish was a treat, from the snails and raw tuna for appetizers to the blackfish and spaghetti squash for entrée. Our only negative was the lack of parking in the area. We were there on a Tuesday about 6pm and it was very difficult to find a place to park; even the public parking garage was full. Other than that, delicious!

Reverence for food
loved everything about this restaurant; it was .... just wonderful .... simple, elegant, very inventive approach to fresh and fabulous ingredients; all beautifully presented without being 'tricked up'. The interior is simple, elegant, and suitable ......
weekday lobster tasting
Lobster tasting, flavors excellent however portion was was too small for the $ to rate a 5. Service was exceptional.
I have been going to Blackfish for years for both lunch and dinner. I have never been disappointed. The menu is always changing and interesting. The atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. Had a wonderful salmon dish. Being a BYOB is always attractive. I can bring what I like to drink.

Awesome food & service! Give it a try & u won't be disappointed.
Everything as expected for a french restaurant
Presentation of food was exquisite. Server recommended the lamb bolognese, but would pass next time- just so so. No salad at all on menu. Nice that it is BYOB, but still fairly pricey.

Very pleased with the quality of the food. Lovely restaurant. Will be back.
An incredible value
As we were eating each course, we would be reminded of names like George Perrier, Lacroix, The Fountain at the old Four Seasons...the best food that Philly has had to offer. Can Blackfish be getting even better?! It was just stupendous. And, for around $50 per person? Are you kidding me??!! DO NOT MISS this little treasure in Conshy. DO NOT.
slipping from its Perch?
although still one of our favorite places I sensed it is slipping from its previous unblemished ranking. seems to have lost its energy. was very surprised that their were no additions to the menu since we always look forward to what is new in the kitchen. maybe this happens regularly but it was the first time this happened to us. still above average but slipping.
The portions were small, I thought I was eating food from the Jetsons. The bread, beignets and the olives were delicious. There were 4 of us and we all felt that it was horrible for the price. Usually BYOBs give great portions. We will never go back again
One of the Best Restaurants
By far one of the best restaurants in and around philly, must get the snails!

Dinner was amazing, a mixture of flavors that were wildly exciting and delightfully complimentary. The staff were really helpful in explaining and describing the unique items on the menu. Loved it and can't wait to go back!

Everything was presented well and food was delicious. My only issue was that the menu online was different from the menu in the restaurant. I had my heart set on a dish and when we got there they changed the Arctic Char to salmon. Get the beignets - you won't be disappoint.
A wonderful meal!
We've been to Blackfish before but this meal was truly outstanding. The preparation and presentation were top notch. We will certainly return!

Tried to take too many tables for V-Day! We're not prepared. Had to wait almost an hour to get table for reservation. Food ok. Octopus over cooked
Very High End
Good is terrific, but definitely very refined. A one of a kind experience in the area, and Philadelphia region as a whole.
Not very satisfied
The food was good, but that was about it. They had too many tables in a very tight space. I felt like I was dinning with strangers. There was no special ambiance, which was extremely disappointing because it was Valentine's Day. Service was slow and the place was definitely overbooked. There were people waiting every where. We will never be back.
Food was outstanding - wait staff friendly and cheerful - seating a little tight but cozy. Prefix menu had nice choices but was pricey. Dinner for two - BYOB over $200
This was my second time here and it was the same as the first... Disappointingly Underwhelming. I have been to a lot of other BYOB restaurants in the Philly area as well as the burbs that have better food at more fair price. For these prices i would expect more of a fine food experience and i have been twice underwhelmed with the flavors and uniqueness offered.
It was Saturday evening of Valentine's Weekend. We had reservations. Upon arrival we were asked to please wait next door at their Tradestone Cafe as they were running 20 minutes late on reservations. Upon arriving next door - we find a completely full restaurant of people waited to be seated next door - it was so packed we had to take stacked chairs to find a place to sit. 45 minutes AFTER our reservation time we were finally seated (after complaining). After being seated in a cramped area next to the serving area and ice bucket - we began our $85 prixe fix menu selections. Overall - the food was good, but not amazing as one would think given the restaurant's reputation and standing. The value was not close to the price paid. Overall - a very disappointing, unorganized, chaotic dinner!
40' wait to be seated for Valentine's reservation. Food was good, not cheap.
Great food, fair service.
My wife and I dined at Blackfish on the Saturday evening before Valentine's Day. Arrived on time for our reservation only to be told it would be a 20 minute wait. That turned into a 35 minute wait. That said, the food presentation (not talking about service) was beautiful and the food was delicious. The staff seemed to be a little overwhelmed. We would definitely go back, but probably not on a holiday when lots of people are dining out.
Valentine's day poor meal
On Valentine's day we had to wait 30 minutes despite a reservation and then had an unsuspected prix fixe meal for $90. the food was luke warm, the service was rushed and we were disappointed. nothing worse than high priced mediocre food. We have been pleased here before but will not be coming back soon!

Each course was spectacular.
Blackfish in Conshohocken deserves to be known as one of the finest dining restaurants in all of the Philadelphia region. From the first course to dessert, all were absolutely stunning. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an absolute excellent experience. Not one complaint, could not have been more impressed!

We didn't go for the full tasting menu but the 2 courses we had were excellent. The cauliflower soup was fantastic and the halibut with spaghetti squash and rice as well as the risotto were too. Next time just need to bring a bottle of wine.
We really enjoyed ourselves while here. The food was absolutely delicious. It's a bit pricy but totally worth it. It being a BYOB allows you to feel comfortable with the tab. Would definitely recommend to others and I'll be back.

This restaurant has gone down hill. The fish was overcooked and the chicken portion was so small. It looked like the plates were too big for the portion size. Sad, used to love this place. Will not return.
Again a great dinner
I have had dinner at Blackfish a couple of times over the last months. At all occasions food has been very good. I have tried from à la carte, to Tuesday night special (very good value) to the 5-course chefs surprise menu. Every time we really enjoyed our dinner. The food is also plated very nice.
new subtleties keep things fresh
Let's get it over with - yes, we love Blackfish & rave in every review. Here's the latest: crudo was scallop & radishes (loved it). The "lightly smoked" bass is really crudo too, a healthy portion with a light, tangy & wonderful "immersion" (citrus? olive oil? pepper? - I didn't take notes). The snails in a mushroom salad are outstanding & different from any snail dish I ever had, & my wife's pâté was its usual smooth and tasty self.....with a fabulous added surprise of a naturally sweet-&-sour cranberry aigre doux, mustard seed & red wine. We never would have paired pâté with sweet-&-sour, but it worked amazingly well & we'll do it at home. We've raved about the stuffed skate before, so I won't bore you. But the salmon special was new and different - fat cuts with a wonderfully thin crispiness outside (quick, hot sear, I assume) in what I think was a carrot purée. The plate was an abstract expressionist's dream so orange that Rothko might have painted it. We ate at 2 Michelin starred restaurants in the last 6 weeks - Blackfish is right up there with them for quality, creativity, dedication, service, and pleasure. It's just plain great!
My wife and I choose Blackfish for all of our special occasions, and we love it!!! The servers are incredible -warm and knowledgable - and the food is inventive and always delicious!!!
We were a party of 4 and all of us (foodies) were impressed from start to finish. With all of the food we were struck by the interesting combination of flavors. The risotto and snails were remarkable. The lamb bolognese was wonderful - one of our party touted it as the "best" they ever had. Our fish entrees and sides memorable. The beignets are a must desert. Kudos to Brendan and the staff. We will be back!!!!

Great service. Somewhat overpriced. Dined w 4 people. The surf and turf was outstanding. The king crab tasting special was terrible. Overall a good place but they try to do too much w some menu items
Always Meets High Expectations
Year over year, the dining experiences have been consistently excellent and yet this visit somehow seemed even better. The menu classics are still classics for a reason (smoked salmon, beignets). Other newer seasonal selections like the truffled risotto are combining with the classics to take an already outstanding menu up a few notches.
