Long time DC restaurateur (21 Federal/Bob Kinkead (RIP),Ex Co-Owner of Marcels DC, Watergate Hotel F&B) Youssef Eagle Essakl has transformed a building and the surrounding property in historic downtown Occoquan into his vision of a Romantic French country bistro.                                                                                     While I love this place and have been going for over a decade, I was sad to see it has so many Latino workers speaking Spanish the entire time as they poured water, sat us, cleaned up after us. Even the Filipino maitre D was speaking Spanish to the staff. It’s a French restaurant and the one night the owner wasn’t there, it was definitely noticeable.

                                                                                    A lovely dining experience. The service here is unobtrusive and attentive. Your water glass will never be empty. The food is always predictability well prepared and seasoned. I enjoy the French country ambiance. We are fortunate to have this excellent restaurant in our neighborhood.

                                                                                    A hidden gem in the Occoquan area. Blink, and you'll drive right by this cottage inspired restaurant. Inside is an intimate dining area, slightly cluttered due to it's small space, and an outdoor patio on the front and side. This is my second time there, and the service team is top notch. The wine is incredible - if you're looking for just a glass, I recommend the Cotes du Rhone. My friend ordered the Crevettes a L'Ail and I ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon. Both were prepared in excellent French tradition. The menu says there's a prix fixe multi-course chef's tasting menu during the week which I have not tried. I'm looking forward to a return.

                                                                                    This was our 35th wedding anniversary and my wife enjoyed this more than ever. We had a great meal which was a perfect portion and all was superbly presented. The service staff was very attentive and ensured our drinks were hot (coffee) or filled upon questioning (water). The surprise anniversary sorbet was a delightful surprise and closed out the dining experience on a high note. Highly recommend Bistro L'Ermitage to all who want excellent food, service, and atmosphere in one location.

                                                                                    My girlfriend and i went for her 31st birthday. The ambience was great. The servers were amazing. They were kind and engaging. The food were portioned well and they were so delicious. It was all around great experience and would definitely return soon.

                                                                                    I was first time in Bistro L’Hermitage and its hidden gem in Woodbridge. Restaurant was full while we were there so definitely recommend reservation. Staff and servers were super nice and attentive. Food was delicious and have big portions. For bday celebration they offer cute and very tasty chocolate moose with a chocolate happy bday on the top. We will be back to try other items from the menu. Food is great and tasty, prices are reasonable and drinks are strong - just the way we like it!
