When we arrived we had to wait about 7 minutes to be seated in a waiting area with too few seats that had not seen touch-up paint for years. It also had a timeline of Benihana and their founder (actually mostly about their founder) which went through about 1980. Once seated there were about 8 open hibachi tables (also in an area which could use a refresh) making us wonder what the wait was for. We still waited 20 minutes before we received our soup and salad. The food was good, but nothing outstanding compared to local hibachi tables which offer much better value. Next time we will just stick with our usual local hibachi restaurant.
Sadly, I was disappointed in the experience.
While expecting an amazing dining experience, the entire experience was disappointing. The preparer was inexperienced and seemed to constantly require assistance from other servers. The food was edible, but lacked any special qualities. The wine list was also very disappointing.

Food was great
The food was delicious and the chef Mhafet was nice. She knows how to cook without burning the food, unlike other chefs there. She is nice and entertaining and we had a great time. The scallops were much smaller than at other restaurants, but they were cooked to perfection.
Your manager needs to plan accordingly. Reservations were for 2:30PM. We did not get seated until 3:15PM. Then we waited another 20 minutes before getting waited on. Not good at all. The food was okay. My first time there, and not sure if I will come back. Thanks
Best meal there yet.

Within the past year Benihana seemed to have fallen off as far as quality, taste and experience but this particular outing renewed my faith in them. The waiter was awesome. Very personable and entertaining. The food was good and good amount for a lunch portion. I will definitely be back.
The food is always great and the show is fun too! It's usually busy so make sure to have reservations.
benihana is a joke now!!!
This franchise has taken the worse nose dive ever. Sat down at 9:30 and at 11:00 still was waiting for the complete meal. Meal wasn't served complete. Never going back.

Usually, we have a great experience at Benihana. This time, I am sad to say, was extremely disappointing. Our service was awful. The server took forever to get anything to us, and completely mixed up orders. It was so bad that the first chef refused to cook the orders because he had no idea what to cook! Another chef came along and got our orders corrected, and went to get the right food to cook our meals. The chef was friendly, entertaining and the food was very good. Then the bills came...eventually. Our orders were never corrected and we were all charged for items we didn't order. The manager came to "correct" the problem, but did nothing but argue with our table and repeatedly charge us for the same wrong items. To top it off, he confiscated my birthday coupon and did not honor it. Awful service! Corporate offices will be contacted.

It was my hubby's Birthday and we had reservations at 7:30pm. We got there at 7:20pm and it was a MADHOUSE! People were everywhere. We had our 2 year old daughter and my 75 year old mom and after being promised several times that we were next, people without reservations who had waited 90 minutes were being seated. We ended up eating in the BAR with my 2 year old. Service was not great but our waitress was nice. We may need to take a break from here until things improve.
Great food quality. Declining neighborhood.
We have dined at this Benihanas over 40 times over the last ten years or so. The quality of the food never disappoints and has always been the primary reason to return. The sushi is also exceptional. The service is hit or miss, and it was a miss on this occasion. The servers were very rushed and disorganized. The chef seemed to only be going through the motions, but he did an adequate job of preparing the food. The neighborhood where the restaurant is located has been in decline and they really need to invest in additional parking lot lighting and/or security cameras.
This visit did not meet our expectations!
Special family birthday meal went South. Seated on time. Soup did not for 40 minutes and only after talking with the manager on duty that evening. Chef performed the required onion volcano bit, a salt shaker spin and two eggs in the hat (one which fell on the floor). He said often that it was probably his last night working! We had to ask for refills on our soda/water. It was a very poor service night and for $150+ not worth the money nor time. We do not get out as an entire family unit for dinner because of busy schedules so this was supposed to be a great night out. Disappointing. We will think long and hard before spending what amounts to 15 hours of slightly more than minimum wage to return.

The chef cut himself and was bleeding and tried to continue to serve us. The manager was rude and short. Did not do anything for the table. The waitress spilled some kind of fluid on one of the customers at our table. We were there for two hours.

We had an 8:00 reservation but we weren't seated until 8:30 and our table didn't get a chef until 9:30
The last visit at Benihana was not the best experience. However I decided to give it another try for my birthday dinner and this was a complete 360 from my last visit. I have to say this won me over and I will definetly be returning!

Service & Length of time
We had a reservation for 9:30. We did not get seated until after 10:00. Waiter made mistakes with our food orders. He became frustrated with us & was argumentative. The Cook finally came out at about 11:00. We started eating around 11:30 & finally left the restaurant after midnight.

I had a great time and out cook was absolutely amazing
Enjoyed my time here. However it took a while for the chef to even come to our table to begin cooking. Also, food is a tad expensive. The staff were all great. Food was good too.
Try the Prime Rib
I purchased the Prime Rib for two and added a lobster tail. Marionwas EXCELLENT, the food was perfectly cooked, well spiced and he was very accommodating to our needs. There were a few mistakes in filling our order from the kitchen, once we made Mario aware of them he immediately corrected them. The food was good and we were seated with a friendly group of people. Good experience. I took my friend who was having surgery the next day. It was enjoyable.

The restaurant was packed however the bartender and two of the managers came out to help. That really made our experience a lot better.
We usually love Benihana. This Saturday evening was bad. The waiter disappeared for long periods of time and the Hibachi cook was delayed for over 30 minutes. Once he arrived he was excellent cook and entertainer. The waiter continued to struggle with service and seemed stressed. The manager came to our table twice to apologize and eb=eventually comped an appetizer. The food was good and kids enjoyed it. We cahlked it up to an unusally bad night.

server Ron? was excellent in his preperation of the meal. Kept us entertained.
Standard Japanese hibachi
Chef was good...interactive with the table. Server was slow. Too many tables for number of servers, particularly on a Saturday evening. Reservations almost a must.
First time patron at this establishment.
I love hibachi restaurants. I go to roughly 3-4 different places a year but have yet to try Benihanas. I was a little disappointed but in only one aspect. Our hibachi cook left a lot to be desired. He dropped his utensils a half dozen times while performing for us, he dropped and egg on the floor while trying to catch it but didn't bother to have anyone clean it up, and it sat there on the floor in plain sight the entire time we were dining. With that said, the atmosphere and food were top notch. The food was hands down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. If it wasn't for the chef my experience would have been 5 stars across the board. Needs some work on showmanship.
The worst dining experience ever!
Made reservations and still had to wait about 15 minutes before being seated. After sitting for 25-30 the manager came over to take our drink order because a waiter/waitress never came to the table. After a 45 min wait no soup or salad had been served. For those prices the service was beyond unacceptable
This particular Benihana needs a lot of help. First of all , the quality of your meal depends on your chef. Unfortunately, ours was inadequate. Everything was overdone, not served in the right order & even a course forgotten (mushrooms). The restaurant itself needs a good cleaning. It is visibly dirty. Never dirty when the restaurant was the "Samurai".
GREAT BIRTHDAY DEAL!
Although our actual waitress really didn't know what she was doing, the food preparer was excellent! She put on an excellent and entertaining "show" while preparing our food. Also, I had a birthday coupon which made the visit even better. Prior to going, I had read other reviews and expected the worse. I was pleasantly surprised. Thank goodness!
No chef for private table area. Manager was rude.
I requested to be seated at a table as my husband and I wanted to have a private dinner for two to celebrate my birthday. The hostess went to seat us and he said that we couldn't sit on that side unless we only wanted sushi, because that was all the chef they had could make. He was very rude and didn't care that this was a part of my reservation request. The hostess was nice and informed me that in the future, if that side was open, no reservation would be needed as it is first come first serve (she apologized for how he handled things and let us know she wasn't aware there wasn't a chef). I used to love going here. Would not recommend to anyone!
loved it, can't wait to go back
It was our first time there. we took our daughter there for dinner. The chef was hilarious and the food was awesome

New Years Eve
Compared to other restaurants like this, found food to be over priced and menu was very minimal. One thing I found irritating was that the waiter was very unprepared and knew very minimal about the sushi and beer list as there was none provided when we arrived there. Also, the rice we wanted was a la carte which added to the over pricing. Also, if you want any connection to your phone, you won't get it here as you are sitting in a "basement" environment.
Excellent service. Small portions for the price. Food was cold
